Unable to Edit Dashboards for Weblogic admin

HI,
I just installed and configured OBIEE 11.1.1.6.9 and OBIA 7.9.6.4
I was trying to edit Dashboard but when i click page Options (small icon top right handside) i did found 'Edit Dashboard' further when to catalog and tried to edit Analysis & prompt a message appeared 'Access Denied'. as it shows its a privileges issues for user. But while installation i created one user 'weblogic' and this user is having all privileges i checked in console & em. so my question is how i can edit these analysis or how i can fix this issue.
OBIEE version: 11.1.1.6.9
OBIA: 7.9.6.4
OBIEE & OBIA O.S: windows 2008 server SP2

1.Stop the Presentation Server.
2.Backup the instanceconfig.xml file at [middleware_home]/instances/instance1/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/instanceconfig.xml
3.Under the 'Catalog' section, add the 'Recover' tag. For Example:
<Catalog>
<UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
<UpdateAccountGUIDs>Recover</UpdateAccountGUIDs>
</Catalog>
4.Start the Presentation Server. It will perform a recovery and then after some time shutdown.
5.Remove the tag.
6.Start the Presentation Server again
Hope this helps. Let us know if you still have issues.
Thanks,
SVS

  • Need to write start up scrits for weblogic admin server on Linux

    Hi,
    I am new to weblogic i have Installed wls1035 on Linux Created Managed servers,but i want write start up and stop scripts for weblogic admin server please let me know how to write.
    My weblogic server is Running on Linux..please help me its very urgent for me.....

    Put something like this into a startAll.py file (excluding the ---):
    startNodeManager(verbose='false',NodeManagerHome=localWlsHome + '/common/nodemanager',ListenPort=5556,ListenAddress=localhost)
    nmConnect('weblogic','password','localhost','5556','domain_name')
    nmStart('AdminServer','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmStart('my_server_1','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmStart('my_server_2','/path-to-domain-dir')
    nmDisconnect()
    exit()
    source /path-to-domain-dir/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    $JAVA_HOME/bin/java weblogic.WLST startAll.py
    Similar for stop (stopAll.py):
    nmConnect('weblogic','password','localhost','5556','domain_name')
    nmKill('my_server_1')
    nmKill('my_server_2')
    nmKill('AdminServer')
    stopNodeManager()
    exit()
    source /path-to-domain-dir/bin/setDomainEnv.sh
    $JAVA_HOME/bin/java weblogic.WLST stopAll.py
    You might have issues with the Nodemanager having an autogenerated username and password. That can be fixed like this:
    In the AdminServer console, click on Lock & Edit
    In the AdminServer console, go to <domain> -> Security -> General -> Advanced and update the Node Manager username and password to use the same values as the WebLogic server.
    In the AdminServer console, apply the changes.
    Start WLST: $WL_HOME/common/bin/wlst.sh
    Connect to the AdminServer: connect('weblogic','password','t3://<adminserver-hostname>:<adminserver-port>')
    Enroll: nmEnroll('/path-to-domain-dir')
    Exit WLST: CTRL^D
    You might also look into customizing the nodemanager's property file:
    Edit $WL_HOME/common/nodemanager/nodemanager.properties
    StopScriptEnabled=true
    CrashRecoveryEnabled=true
    StartScriptEnabled=true
    For further reading, please take a look at: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/config_scripting/reference.html

  • How to edit classpath for Domain Admin Server?

    Hi!
    Please, explain me how can I edit the classpath settings for Domain Admin Server of Sun java Application Server 8.2?
    I need to remove some classpath made by application installer in order to make the application work.
    It is said in documentation that I have to login to DAS first, but I can't see how can I make it through Server's web-interface :(

    Hi Rengasamy,
    If you want to set the CLASSPATH for all the managed Servers available in your Domain then "$DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh" has an Environment variable with name "PRE_CLASSPATH" which is usually preferred for Patches or any JAR which we want to override from the WebLogic's existing classpath.
    But if you don;t want to override WebLogic's default CLASSPATH rather include your Jars in it then please add your JAR filenem including absolute path inside the "POST_CLASSPATH" variable inside "$DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh"
    Apart from this another option will be putting your Jars inside the "$DOMAIN_HOME/lib" directory because The jars located in this directory will be picked up and added dynamically to the end of the server classpath at server startup. The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath. The domain library directory is one mechanism that can be used for adding application libraries to the server classpath. It is possible to override the $DOMAIN_DIR/lib directory using the -Dweblogic.ext.dirs system property during startup. This property specifies a list of directories to pick up jars from and dynamically append to the end of the server classpath using java.io.File.pathSeparator as the delimiter between path entries.
    If you are starting your Managed Servers using NodeManager then please refer to the following Article.:

  • Unable to Edit Dashboard as Administrator (Merged RPD/Catalog)

    Hi,
    I am having trouble editing a dashboard that another developer created that was merged into our main RPD/Catalog.
    It is one subject area (same DB schema), and one presentation catalog folder. I copied the RPD objects into our main RPD, copied the folder and *.atr file into the main Catalog.
    When I log into answers, all of the newly added dashboards show up properly. However, if I click on Page Options, I have no link to Edit Dashboard - even logged in as Administrator. If I go to Manage Presentation Catalog, this folder does not have a security lock (permissions) icon next to it. If I go to Manage Interactive Dashboards, the place where permissions icon normally is shows a red cross instead.
    I checked the OS level permissions for the catalog files to make sure they look the same as other dashboard/report files.
    Any ideas on this?

    1.Stop the Presentation Server.
    2.Backup the instanceconfig.xml file at [middleware_home]/instances/instance1/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/instanceconfig.xml
    3.Under the 'Catalog' section, add the 'Recover' tag. For Example:
    <Catalog>
    <UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
    <UpdateAccountGUIDs>Recover</UpdateAccountGUIDs>
    </Catalog>
    4.Start the Presentation Server. It will perform a recovery and then after some time shutdown.
    5.Remove the tag.
    6.Start the Presentation Server again
    Hope this helps. Let us know if you still have issues.

  • Unable to edit metadata for some files, Bridge CS6

    I am editing metadata for .wav files, and somehow a few of them have become locked for editing. I have checked the properties for these files and still have full permissions for all users.
    As you can see in the screen capture below, the pencil icons you click to edit the metadata are gone and an error message comes up. Thanks for any help you can give!

    Wow, I just answered my own question...
    After an hour trying to figure this out, I decided to just go ahead and edit the images, but "Edit in Camera Raw" was not an option.  So, I went to Tools \ Cache \ Purge Cache for Folder "xxx"
    Problem solved.

  • Unable to Edit Snapshots for a Database

    A new problem. I navigate to the Edit Settings page in the Automatic Workload Repository option (10.2.0.5 OEMGC on Solaris Sparc with 10.1.0.4 database for repository and 10.2.0.5 OMAs). I only have 25 databases or so and have set up saved AWRs (i.e., snapshots) on many of them. When I attemp to "Edit Settings" for saving AWRs on the repository database, I get an Error page in the console with the message "Internal Error has occured. Check the log file for details.". This happens when I click on the "Show SQL" button as well as the "OK" button.
    I've been looking through the emoms.trc and emoms.log in the $OMS_HOME/sysman/log directory and finding nothing of substance. There is nothing in the $AGENT_HOME/sysman/log files as well.
    The error seems like a configuration problem--the error returns quickly. I checked DBA_HIST_WR_CONTROL and confirmed that no snapshots are getting saved.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Muthu,
    Thank-you for the response.
    Yes we have posted a confirmation again to get the process moving, as i knew that missing entries in the field caused the error.
    But what I would like to know is why isn't it possible to delete or change this confirmation to correct the wrong entries responsible fo the error.
    Why all the buttons are greyed out, though nothing is posted at backend

    Hi,
    This is related to Confirmation in SRM 5.00 for a limit PO.
    The status of this confirmation is "ERROR IN PROCESS". I've seen that there is error while posting the SES to backend.
    This is because of missing some field entries while posting confirmation, Now I want to change the confirmation and make corrections, but i find that all the buttons ( change, delete......) are inactive/greyed out.
    Is it not possible to change a limit confirmation once saved and approved. Then how do i delete it, if all the options are greyed out.
    Please help me

  • Shutdown script for Weblogic admin & managed servers

    Greetings,
    I am new to weblogic and am using it on a new box with OID. I am in the process of writing a shutdown script to shut down all processes on the box when it is restarted, I think this is better than just pulling the plug. I have learned about and turned on t3 protocols and used WLST to tore credentials in WebLogicKey.properties & WebLogicConfig.properties file so things are working properly. What I can't find is how to shut down the managed server using WLST and am also wondering if it is better to invoke the stopManagedWebLogic.sh and the stopWebLogic.sh scripts form the shell or from the WLST tool, if indeed that is possible. If soemone has such scripts they would be willing to share that would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Bill Wagman

    "One question, Rene, I see in your scripts you are storing username/password combinations.
    I have used the storeUserConfig () command to create a WebLogicConfig.properties file and a WebLogicKey.properties file to avoid that issue.
    Is there a reason you have not done this?"
    No, what you did with the storeUserConfig, to prevent needing to store the unencrypted username
    and password in your WLST scripts is good. One thing to note is that the key files are extremely sensitive
    in that they allow any user to use the configuration file to authenticate as the user stored in the configuration
    file. You should store the key files in a secure location so that only the authorized users have access to them (this
    is also what you do with scripts that have unencrypted username and password in them). You probably have
    an environment (operating system) in which only authorized users can reach the sensitive data.

  • How can I disable "Modify Dashboard" for specified USER?

    I want to disable "Modify Dashboard" for users. But I can't find which rights (in Manage privileges) is for this feature.
    SORRY duplicate with Link: disable edit dashboard for groups

    This is done in the "permissions"of the dashboard. You have to set it for each dashboard if the user some create dashboard rights.

    Hello Djam,
    Please review the following:
    The FMW WebLogic Server (WLS) installation has been configured to use a non-default Java temporary files directory,
    i.e. the following has been set in the WebLogic startup or setDomainEnv.sh script:
    EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/oracle/temp_java_files ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}"
    Reference: How to Change the WebLogic Server Location for Temporary Files (Doc ID 1336002.1)
    When the Middleware home was restored the directory specified by java.io.tmpdir parameter was missing,
    Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
    To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.
    Unable Start AdminServer: JPS-01050: Opening of wallet based credential store failed. Reason java.io.IOException (Doc ID 1923395.1)

  • Weblogic.Admin command for stopping all Managed Servers in cluster

    Hello All,
    I am using Weblogic 9.2 MP3 on Linux env. I have a domain which has 16 Managed servers which are part of a cluster, I have eight Managed Servers running on one physical machine and other eight running on another physical Machine.
    I know we can do all stop and all start of Managed servers from console if we have node manager setup. We do not want to have node manager setup in our env.
    I am looking for a way to do that using java weblogic.Admin utility
    Please let me know on how we can achieve this using weblogic.Admin utility by passing clustername argument.
    Thanks
    Weblogic Consultant

    hi sir,
    I think in weblogic 9.2 weblogic.Admin utility is deprecated but it works in 9.2. We have better option than weblogic.Admin utility nothing but WLST. If u want to start using weblogic.Admin we have command
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx START managedservername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx SHUTDOWN managedservername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx START clustername
    java weblogic.Admin -url adminhost:listenport -username xxxx -password xxxx SHUTDOWN clustername
    If u want to use WLST for starting managed servers and clusters
    check the follwing steps.
    1. java weblogic.WLST
    2. startNodeManager()
    3. TAKE ANOTHER COMMAND PROMPT START ADMIN SERVER
    4. TAKE ANOTHER COMMAND PROMPT
    java weblogic.WLST
    5. start('man1','Server') or start('man1','Server','localhost:7003')
    6. start('mycluster','Cluster')
    7.shutdown('man1','Server') or start('man1','Server','localhost:7003')
    8.shutdown('mycluster','Cluster')
    regards
