Unable to enter NULL value records

Hi experts,
I need to upload a excel sheet data to mdm .
details of name and class.
Name(DF)     Class
Tom     one
jane     two
dorsan
rudy
tej     three
zindal
there are NULL values(Blank) for customers - dorsan, rudy, zindal.
in matching records i selected both name and class then imported the data.
i can see the following in Data manager..
Name(DF)     Class
Tom     one
jane     two
tej     three
zindal
Can any one tell me why only four records are imported?
Regards
Phani

Dear Phani
This is required as the combination should be treated as the Unique key for the table otherwise for the entries where we same say NULL values are considered as duplicates by MDM. Selecting both the fields is with OR condition and combining them is with AND condition.
Please close the thread if answered.
best regards
Ravi

  • External tables in Oracle 11g database is not loading null value records

We have upgraded our DB from Oracle 9i to 11g...
It was noticed that data load to external tables in 9i is rejecting the records with null columns..However upgrading it to 11g,it allows the records with null values.
Is there are way to restrict loading the records that has few coulmns that are null..
Can you please share if this is the expected behaviour in Oracle 11g...
    Thanks.

Data isn't really loaded to an External Table. Rather, the external table lets you query an external data source as if it were a regular database table. To not see the rows with the NULL value, simply filter those rows out with your SQL statement:
    SELECT * FROM my_external_table WHERE colX IS NOT NULL;

  • Unable to enter Input value for an ICD

    Hi All,
I have created an element XXX which has two input values "Pay Value" and "Class". The class has the values 'A','B','C','D'. I have created a plan and set up the rate In the calculation method I have chosen "No Standard values used".
Now when I try to assign this ICD plan to the user in the Miscellaneous plan I am not able to enter the car class. Can someone help me with this.
    Thanks
    Shekar.

    Hi Shekar
I find the ICD setup very 'picky'! If you get one thing wrong, it doesn't work. I have detailed below the steps I usually advise people to tek. Check your setup and see if this helps.
    1. Define Plan Type, Compensation Category = Others.
    2. Define Plan. Link to Plan Type. Plan Usage = May not be in program. On Not in program Tab - define sequence, currency, enrollment rate (per pay period?), activity reference period (Monthly). Your settings may need to be different. On Plan details tab, enter plan years.
    3. Plan enrollment requirements. On the general tab, plan sub tab, make sure the method = EXPLICIT. this allows the user to enter an input value for the ICD. THIS MAY WELL BE THE SOURCE OF YOUR PROBLEM!
Make sure the CERTIFICATION region is UNTICKED. This can also cause ICDs not to work.
ALLOWS UNRESTRICTED ENROLLMENT must be TICKED. Otherwise there is no eligibility to the ICD.
On the rates subregion, make sure the run strt date is set to ENTERABLE.
    4. standard Rates form. Make sure the ACTIVITY TYPE and TAX TYPE are entered. Select the ELEMENT and the INPUT VALUE and TICK the ELEMENT AND INPUT VALUE REQUIRED field.
On the processing Information tab - TICK ASSIGN ON ENROLMENT, DISPLAY ON ENROLLMENT and PROCESS EACH PAY PERIOD. Enter PER PAY PERIOD AMOUNT in VALUE PASSED TO PAYROLL and OTHER in COMPENSATION CATEGORY.
Let me know if this works!

  • Unable to enter single value for a variable in BPS

    Hi,
I am using a variable for 'Posting Period' of type 'User defined values' defined in my Planning Area . I am able to input a range of values like 1-3, 1-12, 5-10 etc.
But, my problem is that, when I have to give one value, ie 1-1 or 5-5, I am not allowed. Its gives a message that upper limit should be greater than the lower limit. Any suggestions?
Is there a way, to define a variable in such a way that it can accept both ranges and single values?

    Hi,
we have this functionality overall in our system and i have not experienced,
that the system tries to set the upper limit on it's on (why 12 and not for example 13?).
How can you see that the system uses 12 as the upper limit?

  • How to pass NULL value in SSRS

    Hi All,
I have a parameter called Division,Region and State. While loading these parameter I am replacing NULL value as "NO Division","NO Region" and "NO State".Note all parameters are multi valued.
Now In my dataset query If I put the condition like (division=@Division or Division is null) and (region=@region or Region is null) and (state=@State
    or State is null).
In this scenario if I want to exclude null values need only specific Division which is not allowing me to do that with above condition. If  I need all it works fine but not with specifice division, region and  sate.
    Any thought on this.
    thanks
    Chandan
    Thanks Chandan

    Thats because of or conditions
As per your explanation since you replace NULL value as No division etc what you need to do is just this
    (division=@Division or @Division = 'All') and (region=@region or @Region = 'All') and (state=@State or @State = 'All').
this will make sure it will bring all values including NULLs when you pass All and will only give you specific division/region etc records when you pass a specific value.
To get NULL valued records alone you need to pass value as No Division,No region etc
Also you should change dataset query for parameter combo to make prompt as No Division etc for NULL values so that it can be selected as an option inside multi valued combo box to see NULL valued records

  • How to differentiate the EMPTY Records and Null Values in DSO

    Hello....how is everyone here?? Ehehehe!
I try to load some data from the flat file which contains some EMPTY data and Null Values for the records. The data type for the InfoObjects of the fields "Quantity" is "number". The sample data from the flat file (CSV) are as below:
    Food              Quantity
    Hamburger  -       12
    Cheese        -       0
    Vegetable      -               (Empty)
When I try to load the above sample data to the DSO, I get the results of the data as follow:
    Food              Quantity
    Hamburger     - 12.000
    Cheese           -  0.000
    Vegetable         - 0.000
In this case, how can the user differentiate whether the records is contain empty value of null values in DSO? This is kinda of hard to differentiate the both scenarios above. Is there any way to differentiate the scenarios described here?
    Thanks alot =)

    Hi Fluffy,
It depends on the initial values of the data type
The inital values For quantity/Currency/ Numbers it takes spaces as 0
    for char it is SPACE
We cannot differeniate between space and null values.
IF you have to force this then define quantity as char and load the data. we will not have units and aggregation in this case.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to enter % value in Forms (Planning 11.1.1)

    Hi All,
I have an account defined as Percentage in a shared dimension.
When i use this account in a webform i'm not able to enter a value as % but only as 0.25.
Also after saving the amount shows 0.25 so the row isn't recognized as a percentage row.
I always used this option in earlier versions without any problems.
Has anyone a clue how to enable the form to accept % values?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marc

    Hi,
Have you set the evaluation order, Administration > Dimensions > Evaluation Order
Pick the dimension which has the percentage member e.g. accounts and move it to the selected dimensions window.
    Cheers

  • Null Values from a Data Source

This is more of an implementation question than a
troubleshooting question. Also, since I've been unable to find any
documentation on this I was wondering if anyone has come across
this behavior or found a bug with it.
Yesterday I was working on an application to explore some
proof of concept aspects of Flex for an application I'm developing.
I started running into a problem with Flex Data Services throwing
back an 'Unknown Property: "clientaddress1"' error whenever I tried
to update data. It seemed that whenever I tried to update a record
in the database it would thrown the Unknown Property error. I spent
a good chunk of the day trying to figure out what was causing this
and finally gave up and called it a day.
This morning I was reassessing what the problem was and
trying to find the differences between my database and my code and
I stumbled upon the fact that I could add no records and modify
them without a problem, however if I tried to access an existing
record and update it I'd get the Unknown Property error.
I start analyzing the database and found that I'd configured
the database to use null values for empty values and the records
that I created with the database had null values, however, any of
the values inserted from Flex were inserted as blank values. As
matching my action script class as clientaddress1 = ""; So, upon
further testing I fould that Flex was not processing the null
values correctly, so that when it came back and rightly generated a
Conflict Error...and then called AcceptServer() it was unable to
find the clientaddress1 property of the class.
Also, if any of the properties in the database are null it
throws the same error. Basically it seems to have invalidated the
object just because one value was null. So if all of my values from
the DB are set to something and only one field is set to null it's
still throwing the error on the first alphabetical item of the
    properties.
I can resolve the problem by not using null values in the
database, but...what sort of effect would this have on someone
working with a large legacy database that extensively uses nulls
    for undefined values?
Also, if a Flex guru could explain the reasoning for this
happening I would greatly appreciate it!
    Best regards,
    Chris Maloney

I realize that I didn't clarify that I am using ColdFusion
for getting the data. This class was generated by the Create CFC
    wizard in Flex Builder.

  • Null value in poplist

    Hi,
I'm using forms6i, I'm having a poplist in my form, which i populate in when-new-form-instance.
So when i open the form, and try to select one value, i'm seeing one null value, and if i select one value from list and again try to change the value then the previous null value is gone.
So to avoid that in when-new-form-instance itself , i assigned one value to the poplist using Get_List_Element_Value.
But the problem is since i'm assigning value, the form goes in insert status, and so even if i dont enter any valuees and try to exit, it is asking Close Form? (because i have few non-null items also).
How can i get one safe solution (like as it work when we assign some static values to the poplist).
ie i dont want nulls to be seen iin the list also i dont want the close form? message
I tried one solun by setting the form status as new again in w-n-f-i. But since i have multirecord block, this problem comes with every record.
    Please suggest one better solution

    Hi Divya
why don't u try putting the same code of the w-n-f-i in when-validate-record or when-new-record-instance may be it work...
if not working pls share us the code what about an example:
    declare
    rg_name varchar2(40):='r_area_record1';
    rg_id Recordgroup;
    LIST_ID ITEM;

The 2 history tables have 2 additional fields than their parents, "modified_date date default sysdate not null" and "modified_by varchar2(30) default user not null" that record when and who made the change. There's also a change type field that records where the change is an insert, delete or update (there 3 triggers per table , so we can correctly record change type as being insert, delete or update into the change_type field).
If you want to make it more real to life, the status value is initially blank, then can be changed to a legal status value (complete or not complete), but can not be changed back to blank.

P.P.S After you reply and change to ComboBoxControls in 2 places, try changing the table names and/or the column names (say to follow the DBA's naming convention) or add another field to the composite primary key (and unstated foriegn key) (using drop table/create table). Now try getting the existing code to run. No writing down the old/new table (or column) name pair names. Just run the code and try to fix the code based on the error messages. Are the error messages giving you adequate information to find the problem?

Kindly let me know where i am going wrong. MaterialNumber field is a TEXT not a lookup table field.  Above fields are from the main table.

    Hi Friends,
I got the solution. It was the error because of not having a the below statement.
    limitingCommand.setPageSize(1);
As i havent used that statement, it was trying to get 1000 records, and i dont know exactly what makes this to get that error. Anyhow., As i want to use for updation, i cn live with one record.
    Thanks,
    Raags
