Unable to get the parameter value from a page

Hi all
i was trying to get a value using pageContext.getParamter("<item Id>")...
the itemId which i gave exists in MessageComponentLayout...but i am a null is getting returned..
please check this...n let me know if i missed something.

Also confirm, may b no value is set in th bean, thats y its returning null as page parameter. Verify!

the 3rd parameter of the procedure is a out parameter. it is a type of a PL/SQL table (SEARCH_SIGN_TAB_TYPE) which is available in database as follows.

Unable to get the selection value of OAMessageChoiceBean

Hi,
From our 11i to R12 upgrade, in Customer Advance Search page, we are unable to get the proper handle for OAMessageChoiceBean (in extendedCO).
The code snippet for handling the bean is as follows:
OAMessageChoiceBean PartyStatusFilter = (OAMessageChoiceBean)vOAPageContext.getRootWebBean().findChildRecursive("xxfeF426PartySearchStatus");
String xxTest= PartyStatusFilter.getSelectionValue(vOAPageContext);
The value for above xxTest (in R12 env.) is coming as null. Whereas, the same code is working in 11i enviroment and the output of xxTest="A".
Hence, we are unable to get the selection value of the messagechoicebean in our R12 environment. Moreover, I've already looked into similar previous posts of this forum, also tried using getSelectionText(vOAPageContext) or getSelectedValue(), but it didn’t worked too.
Any pointers please?

The Properties class is already a subclass of Hashtable. So if you have a Properties object, you already have a Hashtable. So all you need to do is the first part of that:Properties props = new Properties();

What kind of web page do you have? Do you have possibility to for example make RFCs? Then you could trigger events (with parameters that could "return" the values) and the workflow could react to those events. For example your task can have terminating events.

How to get the Node Value from XmlValue result?

I am not able to get the Node Value from the result. In my XQuery im selecting till a Node, if i change my query as

You are right, this seemed un-intuitive to me too, but I finally understood how it's done.
The "value" of a node is actually the total amount of text that is not contained in any of the node's child nodes (if any). So a node with child nodes can still have text value.
To get the 'value' of an element node, you must therefore concatenate the values of all children of type "XmlValue::TEXT_NODE", of that node. Try it.
In your example, the <address> node has no child elements, my guess is that BDB XML stores the address string "176 Ganesan street, Janakinagar, alwarthirunagar" inside a child node of <address> node (of type XmlValue::TEXT_NODE) because you wrote the string on a separate line.

A cookie carries a domain name. The browser will only return cookies whose domain matches to domain to which the request is made, however although you can use a partial domain name providing it's not too generic. So, when you add a cookie you need to explicitly set the domain name on the cookie to, for example, your company suffix like ".acme.com", then the cookie should be returned to all the servers under that domain e.g. server1.acme.com and server2.acme.com.

Unable to get the item value in cursor

I have function which returns organization_id for each item selected in Sales Order window.
From this function I will populate warehouse value in shipping tab whenever i am tabbing out from ordered item in Sales Order Form.
But my cursor is unable to get the item id value (Ex: FOR cur_rec IN cus_l (l_item_id)). It is directly going to last return statement and displaying default value.

Getting the attribute value from a table from page def using el expression.

Am using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0 and have a requirement as follows for which a sample is been created. Requirement is as follows..
1. Have a Taskflow that has a readonly table Employee.
2. On clicking of a button called "route" checks if the selected row , Manager id attribute value = 200 then navigate to first page else if manager id attribute value is 200 then navigate to second page.
Through the page def , if it has form , then we can access the attributes like #{data.view_FirstPageDef.ManagerId} . In case of acquiring the same attribute value from table using page def ? is what am unable to get..
Have achieved the routing concept using the Router activity on Taskflow. But am unable to get the selected row attribute value of a table from the employee page def.. Can someone suggest on the same...

On the router, right click its icon in the task flow and create a page definition. Then in the page def file, add an iterator based on the same View Object from the table in the first page, then add a value attribute mapped to managerId in the View Object iterator. Finally in the router you can write EL expressions along the lines of #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue = 200} or #{bindings.ManagerId.inputValue != 200}.

Remote Object - not able to get the returned value from java method

     Hi ,
I am developing one sample flex aplication that connects to the java code and displays the returned value from the
java method in flex client. Here I am able to invoke the java method but not able to collect the returned value.
lastResult is giving null . I am able to see the sysout messages in server console.
I am using flex 3.2 and blazeds server and java 1.5

You are not able to get the returned value because if you see the Remote object help you will realise you have to use result="resultfn()" and fault = "faultfn()"
In this you define what you wish to do.
More importantly in the remote object you need to define which method you wish to call using the method class like this

r2 is the function where you get the result back from java and can use it to send the alert.

How can I get the edited value from the editor in JTable

I have a JTextField added as an editor to a cell in JTable.
I value gets changed when I press enter.
but in actionPerformed of the JTextField when I say
String txtEditorValue = txtEditor.getText();
I am getting the old value. How can I get the edited value? Thanks.

Hi,
I guess, your understanding of how JTable works together with its models is not good enough - for example the method getTableCellEditorComponent(...) of the TableCellEditor interface is used to get the component, that should be used as editing component - its second parameter is a value that should be used to setup the editing component - it is normally not the editing component itself.
JTable uses an underlying TableModel to store the cell values - if you have edited a cell, JTable gets the value of the editing component by itself and stores it in the TableModel using its setValueAt(...) method. To retrieve this data you only need to query the TableModel using row and column of this cell as parameters
say jt is your JTable, and row and column are the row and column of the cell - so to get the value, simply use

if you know, that there is a String in this cell use
String str = (String) jt.getModel().getValueAt(row,column);
The editor component is used for the view of the JTable - you only want the data, which is stored in the model - you don't have to deal with the GUI components in this case.

Dynamically get the Max value from table and insert max value + 1 in Target

Hi All, I have a requirement given below, need help in building a solution for this: A mapping that will get the dynamically get the max value(Basically a number) from table , this target table is used by many other concurrent jobs and updated very frequently. My requirement is to get max value from this target table dynamically (Using dynamic look up) and then have an expression to increment by 1 and then load it to Target.I tried using SELCT max(col1) from target in dynamic look up override but this does not seem to work.Any work around here? I dont insist on using a SQL transformation here as Production DB could have 3 Million + records! Thanks in advance, -KRB

Get the new value from an event structure block

Hello!
I'm using an event structure block. I've edited an event wich its event sources are an indicator an a variable (a real matrix). I want to get (to catch) the new value of the indicator and the variable from the frame placed at the left top, but the new value attribute is not a real not an integer.....is variant type. I have no idea what i have to do to catch this two values from here. Someone can post a simple example about it?

If the terminal is INSIDE the event structure, you'll always get the new value. It will NOT be read until the event case executes, at which point the terminal contains the new value. (If the terminal is outside the event structure, and the wire goes inside the event structure, you'll get a stale value when the event for that terminal triggers. This is expected from the dataflow.)
Put the terminals inside the proper event case, you'll be fine!

Unable to get VO attribute values from CO extension

I have extended a standard controller. Screen has view link. There are fields updatable in both master and child VOs'.
If i change these fields (messageTextInput), Im able to get the modified values of master VO.
But Child VO gives me the database value and not the modified value.
this is the code im using to get values.
