Unable to grant_permission java.lang.RuntimePermission

Hello,
i am trying to use a java class within SQL plus. My class has been uploaded successfully, but when executing the method within the class i get this error:
Internal exception:
java.security.AccessControlException: the Permission (java.lang.RuntimePermission loadLibrary.tibrvj) has not been granted to SCOTT. The PL/SQL to grant this is dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'loadLibrary.tibrvj',
i then do the following:
exec dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'loadLibrary.tibrvj', '')
and receive this error:
BEGIN dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'loadLibrary.tibrvj', ''); END;
FEHLER in Zeile 1:
ORA-29532: Java-Aufruf durch nicht abgefangene Java-Exception beendet: java.lang.SecurityException: policy table update SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission, loadLibrary.tibrvj
ORA-06512: in "SYS.DBMS_JAVA", Zeile 0
ORA-06512: in Zeile 1
What am i missing?
Regards
Wolfgang

Wolfgang,
I'm only guessing, but I think you need to login to SQL*Plus as the SYS user and grant the permission to SCOTT, as in:
sqlplus /nolog
SQL> connect / as sysdba
Connected
SQL> exec dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT',...Good Luck,
Avi.

  • Understanding java.lang.RuntimePermission

    I was utilizing a script I found online which allows me to call OS commands and PERL scripts from PL/SQL, using JAVA as an interface. Before things would work, the following DBMS_JAVA calls were necessary.
    I think I get the last one (file permissions) but I don't understand the purpose of the first 2.
    EXEC dbms_java.grant_permission('SHARED', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'writeFileDescriptor', '');
    EXEC dbms_java.grant_permission('SHARED', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'readFileDescriptor', '');
    EXEC dbms_java.grant_permission('SHARED', 'SYS:java.io.FilePermission', '/bin/sh', 'execute');
    I mainly concerned as they look like they grant read/write privileges on everything (...'writeFileDescriptor', ''). java.sun.com warns that "[readFileDescriptor] ... would allow code to read the particular file associated with the file descriptor read. This is dangerous if the file contains confidential data", and that "[writeFileDescriptor]...allows code to write to a particular file associated with the descriptor. This is dangerous because it may allow malicious code to plant viruses or at the very least, fill up your entire disk."
    So I'm concerned,
    Chuck

    We have since taken it that step further, and revoked access to /bin/sh, and granted it to a test PERL script /test/scripts/list_dir.pl
    What is strange is that when I went out to the operating system today (Sep 16) and issued a 'ps -ef' I found the following:
    [oracle@ora4 oracle]$ ps -ef | grep 5994
    oracle 5994 1 0 Sep15 ? 00:10:52 ora_s001_dev
    oracle 11214 5994 0 Sep15 ? 00:00:00 [list_dir.pl <defunct>]
    oracle 11327 5994 0 Sep15 ? 00:00:00 [ls <defunct>]
    oracle 16866 14478 0 07:56 pts/0 00:00:00 grep 5994
    The processes are hanging around (I started with a more simple 'ls' just to see if this would even work - so it's there too).
    Why would that be?
    If it helps, here is the java code and the PL/SQL wrapper that I found at orafaq.com:

    Lot of thanks for your help.

    Check the weblogic.policy file to make sure that it is giving permissions to the right directories. If you have
    installed a Service Pack, make sure that both service pack jar files are at the front of their corresponding
    classpaths...

    Why are you replacing (as opposed to possibly adding to) Java's standard classes? You are not providing access to the Java boot classes, as the error message is telling you.

  • JCE requires: java.lang.RuntimePermission requires accessClassInPackage.sun.security.provider

    I'm trying to use the JCE with JWS1.0.2. All I want to do is generate a KeyPair and I can NOT use a signed application. The code is:
    public static KeyPair genDHKeyPair() throws Exception {
    // properties...
    DHParameterSpec dhSkipParamSpec;
    dhSkipParamSpec = new      DHParameterSpec(skip1024Modulus, skip1024Base);
    KeyPairGenerator keyPairGenerator = KeyPairGenerator.getInstance("DH");
    keyPairGenerator.initialize(dhSkipParamSpec);
    KeyPair keyPair = keyPairGenerator.generateKeyPair();
    return keyPair;
    I'm using JDK1.4. This code works fine outside of JWS.
    If I call this code I get an exception that states I need the stated RuntimePermission. IMHO this is a bug because I should be able to make use of simple standard extension methods like this. Is getting an instance of a KeyPairGenerator and generating a key pair a security risk?
    The fix for this should be a simple addition to the security policy for JWS which gives SUN javax.crypto code access to the appropriate RuntimePermission.
    Can anyone think of a reason why NOT to do this?
    Thank you.
    BTW, here's the Exception you would get if you tried this:

    @OP
    Well this is bound to happen my friend..In general are designed to be more secure & don't have adequate access to System(Fils,Audio,SSL,Native Code,Database.. & etc) resources.
    Well need sign the applet inorder to do that.
    you may go through the link given below to which provides details about siging an applet.
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/security/tour1/step1.html
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/java.101/b10979/applet.htm#i1004498
    (An advice)It is not a gud practise of using vunerablities where there is a security restrcition... we might quite often mishandle resources in this case.
    Hope this might be of some help :)

  • Java.lang.SecurityException when granting java permission

    DB version 11.1.07
    We used this command to grant the following permission in development and stage environment with no problems.
    exec dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCHEMA', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'getClassLoader', '' );
    When the same command is run in production, it results in this.
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:

    SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission, getClassLoader
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JAVA", line 787
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    These commands were executed as SYS user in all environments. Any ideas what could be causing this?
    Thanks.

    Either you are only using a security manager in production or there is a difference in the permissions granted by the security domains (for example, .policy files).

    I have just bumped into this with a Webstart application.
    It seems to happen only on certain machines.
    Is there a solution to this problem?

  • Java.security.AccessControlException:access denied(java.lang.RuntimePermis)

    Hello,
    I am very near to complete my this task but every time i think this i find myself stuck in a new exception. Plz get me out of it.My problem is:
    I created a client/server chat applet for providing online support to our company site visitors. Both server and client are applet.I am using serversocket at server side and socket(getCodeBase()) at client side to establish the connection.
    The code compiled and run fine, without any exception or error when i run it on a standalone PC (althought PC is in LAN but i used that PC name to connect to itself).
    But when i uploaded the applet on my personal site (i don't know any other way to test it:- dont know how to use tomcat even yet.) it is throwing an exception:-

    I didnt made it jar or signed the applet which is not needed bcoz applet is trying to make connection to the site it is loaded from. I think i have to grant permission in the policy file and then complie it again. But i couldnt find which permission to grant. Plz pull me out of this problem, I dont want to drown on shore.
    Thanx in advance CHAO

    Hyperion webAnalysis studio does not open login page. Can anyone suggest? Thanks in advance.

    It looks like your connection settings in your browser or your Java VM are going through a proxy, which likely requires authorization - if this is an internal page can you try it without using the proxy info?

    Check whether your connection pool and datasource are really
