ITunes 64bit version doesn't recognise iPhone 4S

I would like to synch my iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 to my PC and installed iTunes 64bit, however, it doesn't recognise my phone with a warning "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then  install the 64bit version of iTunes". I have remove iTunes several times and re-install but no change. Anyone has any ideas?

I also found this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-pictures/how-to-unins tall-itunes-in-windows-8/617ff063-a609-43f8-8fd9-456fcf41555c

  • ITunes freezes and doesn't recognise iPhone

Hi, I've got an issue with my iPhone 3G running on iOS 4.0.1. Everytime I connect it to my PC (running on Windows 7 32-bit), iTunes freezes for a few minutes and doesn't recognise the device. I've been searching for the solution for a couple of days now and have found the following thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1141495&start=75&tstart=0
Fix provided by BeeBopp work for me but only until I reboot my PC. Then I have the same situation - having iPhone connected to PC, iTunes freezes and doesn't recognise the device - so I need to go to Device Manager and update the drivers manually even though they seem to have been installed correctly (I have Apple Mobile Device on my list before I update the drivers), but I need to point Windows to use the drivers from
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers\usbaapl.inf
    I have already tried:
-completely removing iTunes and its configuration files
-reinstalling iTunes (the newest available version)
-removing iPhone from the devices list and reinstalling Apple drivers
Nothing works - everytime I reboot PC, I need to update drivers manually.
Do you have any idea what's causing that? Thanks

  • ITunes 9.2 doesn't recognise iPhone 3G

Hi all, sorry if this has been asked/answered already, I couldn't find it if it has.
Since installing iTunes 9.2, my computer does not recognise my iPhone 3G. That is, when I plug the phone in, it doesn't start charging, and neither iTunes nor iPhoto think it's there.
However, when I go into System Profiler, it does show up as being connected to the USB port.
So far, I've tried restarted both iPhone and iBook multiple times, with no success. I've also reinstalled iTunes, which didn't help either.
Really grateful if anyone has any tips! I'd really like to resync and have a go with iOS4...
    Cheers.

I've tried a couple of different cables without success, having checked through here there seems to be a few people all asking the same question which made me think there must be a 'scientific' fix for it....!
Can't find anything on the support pages other than uninstall and reinstall iTunes, which I'm not convinced will fix the problem, I was hoping that was a patch somewhere.

  • Itunes refuses to recognise my ipad telling me that i need to uninstall itunes and reinstall the itunes 64bit version for windows - i am on windows 7 and all was working fine until suddenly for no reason at all itunes had some apple support error

I have windows 7 and all has been fine until 2 days ago when suddenly i turned on my laptop and i got some error message about some apple support program error - i didnt tkae notice of it only that i couldnt run itunes, so i uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and it now runs as normal, but now it wont recognise my ipad saying that 64bit version is not installed - WHAT RUBBISH IS THIS? i downloaded and installed the 64bit version from applie and yet the error persists - can some one please tell me how i can get itunes to recognise my ipad again - this seems like such a ridiculous error for these two apple products to be conflicting with each other - please help

well i have found that i needed to not just uninstall itunes, but also apple mobile device support, bonjour apple software update and apple application support - uninstall all these and then install itunes - that seesm to have fixed it, though now i am sync fail - that's a different matter perhaps

  • ITunes new version doesn't open at all. Gives error message

I downloaded 7.4.3 version of iTunes and it doesn't open at all. Gives error message. "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I have previous version of iTunes in my spare HD, in the same computer, and it works perfectly fine.
I have unistalled and re-installed again and again many times including with the help of Apple Support help in the phone and came up with no clues of what's going on.
How can I get a previous version of iTunes to download to my PC? I have looking for a place on Apple's website where I could probably have my issue resolved, but I found nothing.
    Thank you.

Thanks to Jim Zack, the problem is solved.
If you're having this problem, go find the solution at the following page and read Jim's suggestion.

    Hi Shaashwat,
If you are having an issue with iTunes not recognizing your iPhone because of a compatibility problem, I would suggest you remove and reinstall iTunes using the steps in this article -

My iPad can't sync with iTunes because apparently my iTunes doesn't recognise my apps! I've had the iPad for 9 months and have been syncing regularly so am not sure why it's decided there's a problem.

  • Itunes 11.3.1 not recognised iPhone 5 over wifi

    hi,
i have itunes 11.3.1 and a iphone 5. i used to sun my iPhone with iTunes over the wifi but in the last 2 mounths the iTunes not recognized my iPhone (only if i connect it via USB). does anyone had this problem? how can i fix it?
    thanks.

    Hi, Alex
I've had the same problem with my (2009) iMac (OSX 10.9.4), iTunes 11.3.1, my iphone 5, and iPad 2 (later two iOS 7.1.2).
Before iTunes was updated to 11.3.1, all would play nice together. Since the update (and even after following all the steps in the support document you link to), the only way to sync my phone or iPad with my iMac is via USB. I'm convinced that there's a glitch in iTunes' code that prevents wifi syncing, because that's the only thing that's changed in the last few weeks since this started to occur.
Anything else I could have missed. I'm hoping there's a patch before OSX Yosemite, because I've really grown fond of wifi syncing my devices.
    Thanks!

  • ITunes doesn't recognise iPhone after switching back from Windows 7

    Hi all,
I've searched Google and this message board for this issue, but haven't found any mention of it.
    Here's the problem:
I have Windows 7 installed on a boot camp partition. Any time I switch into Windows 7 and then back to Mac OS X (latest version of Snow Leopard) iTunes (both 9 and 10) refuses to recognise my iPhone, meaning I can't sync or transfer any files to my iPhone 4.
The only way I've found to solve the problem is to reinstall iTunes, which is really not a good solution. Rebooting into OS X from OS X doesn't work either.
Has anyone else come across this issue and/or found a fix for it?
I don't use iTunes on Windows 7, or even have it installed (although I did try installing it to fix this problem, and that didn't work either)
    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hello again, GiannisFromAthens.
At this point, considering that the primary issue is with getting the Windows update resolved, we need to get that taken care of first. To do so you may need to consult Microsoft, or whoever supports the installation of Windows on your computer, for more troubleshooting to resolve it.
Once that is resolved, if you are still experiencing the issue, you may find better information by using another of Apple's Support resources at https://expresslane.apple.com/GetProductGroupList.action for a more hands on response.
    Cheers,
    Pedro D.

  • TS1591 Itunes doesn't recognise iphone 5s on iMac

All of a sudden my iTunes won't regognise my iPhone 5s.  It's a 64g & almost full, but there's almost a gig spare.  I backed it up this morning and it said it was all good in iTunes, but iPhoto froze mid way through the upload so I force quit it.  Not too keen on restoring to factory settings.  Anyone have any advice?  Could it be from downloading a dodgy app or visiting a dodgy site?

Try plugging in to a different USB port next.
After trying that try uninstalling your iTunes then reinstalling. There's like 6 components to iTunes and they have to be deleted in a specific order. Use this article to do so correctly http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
After deleting download only from apple.com/iTunes to ensure its the latest version.

  • When syncing iphone, turned itunes match off, itunes doesn't recognise iphone :S

Fed up of the glithcy iTunes match on iphone, so turned it off and so I could sync music from itunes, but after i turn itunes match off, itunes no longers recognises my iphone and says it is a new device and needs restoring? Turn itunes match back on and it fine with itunes? Guess it's another bug with itunes match! Hope they sort it out soon!

Does the device is recognized in a different user account or on a different computer?
You could try to follow iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for OS X or reset the sync services OS X: Resetting Sync Services.

  • Iphone 2g connect to itunes mode pc doesn't recognise

    Hi,
I am not sure how or why but my iphone went blank today, I assumed that the phone had run out of battery, I plugged it in but it did not seem to charge. Next the symbols for connect to itunes came up so I connected it to my laptop but itunes would not recognise it, the symbols stayed on then it reset after a few minutes. I have reset the phone and nothing. The phone is locked to O2 and it has a tesco mobile sim installed. I have had the phone for 3 months and it has worked fine.
    Thanks for your help

Furter details with this problem, I got the phone to charge by removing the sim and placing in my Gear4 speaker, once charged I put the sim back in started the phone and it seemed fine except that the home button will not work at all! Crazy, as soon as I plug it in the PC the connect to itunes pops up and itunes still wont recognise.
Any help ideas what could of caused this?

  • ITunes 11.1.3 doesn't recognise iPhone 5

    Hi,
I cannot Sync my iphone 5 to iTunes. I have tried to follow many other explanations for fixes, but I get stuck at the first hurdle as my phone isn't recogneised in the devices menu option; it is all greyed out.
It isn't the connection to the computer as it sync perfect with iPhoto and charges fine.
Am I missing a simple step? It has me baffled.
    Thanks

A few options.  First, perform a restart of your device (press and hold the HOME button and POWER button at the same time until you see the Apple logo).  Then try to reconnect to itunes.  Restart your computer.  Completely uninstall itunes and reinstall it.  Try using a different USB port.  Try using a different USB cable.  Create a new user with administrator privileges on the computer and try launching itunes.  If these options do not work, try this article.  http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538

  • Itunes 11.1.5 not recognising iphone 4 with 7.1 iOS upgrade

    Hi
I have an iMac that I synch my iPhone 4s to. I recently updated the OS to 7.1 and itunes to 11.1.5. Now it's not recognising the iphone but still recognises the ipad (running ios7.1). I checked the cables, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. No joy. Can anyone help?

Since I do not use a Mac, I've not looked at, nor tried those steps, since they do not apply to me. This is Apple's support document for the Mac, that is why I recommended it. If you have tried that and also removed and reinstalled iTunes, then there is something else wrong. I suggest that you make an appointment at the Genius Bar to discuss the issue.
