I have set up the envionment variables as follows:

I would highly appreciate any help. I would like to get this simulator up and running
and do some work over the easter holidays (nice uh?), it could always be worst! :)

Why are you replacing (as opposed to possibly adding to) Java's standard classes? You are not providing access to the Java boot classes, as the error message is telling you.

    Wolfgang,
I'm only guessing, but I think you need to login to SQL*Plus as the SYS user and grant the permission to SCOTT, as in:
    sqlplus /nolog
    SQL> connect / as sysdba
    Connected
    SQL> exec dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT',...Good Luck,

  • ERROR: Unable to locate system class: java/lang/String

I have swtiched from running my application using sun jvm to using microsoft jvm. When i run it i get the following error:

    any ideas?

Search for the old "MS SDK for Java 4.0" somewhere (no, you can't find it at Microsoft's site).
There are two files that you have to get: sdkdocs40.exe (a file with 10,895,496 bytes) and SDKJava40.exe (a file with 20,222,928 bytes).
Use the embedded jvc compiler to recompile your program. Beware: try not to rely too much in jvc. Use it only for discover that you're using methods not implemented in JDK 1.1.8, but don't use it for deploying your app.
You'll discover that you'll have to rewrite large portions of your program, and even change your program specifications to deal with the reduced functionality of the old MS JVM (for instance, say that you'll need to change the 'modified date' of a file.
In JDK >= 1.2 there's the method File.setModified(); in MS JVM you'll need to use some com.ms.wfc function.

  • I am getting the following error: Unable to locate class: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: on an iPlanet WS. We have ensured that the classpath in jvm12.conf includes the jar file with path. Any ideas?

Well, now I'm pulling my hair out even more because I can't get it to resolve anything in jaxws-rt.jar at runtime. Note: compile-time still works FINE.
I was messing with classpaths and stuff (and the endorsed dirs option of course) and it was "working" to the extent I had posted before, but then I kept playing with it and at some point I said, this isn't working and I need to reset all this stuff back to the way it was.
... so I did that. And now it won't resolve "PolicyException:"
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/xml/ws/policy/PolicyException
This doesn't mean anything to you guys I bet, but that happens when it FIRST gets inside the web service code, which references PolicyException (doesn't even use it at that point.. I'm assuming the import is screwing it up when it's in the constructor). So now it won't resolve at all. Before, it was getting past this point and telling me the "method not found" error on the next line or this same error for WSBindingProvider two lines down, when it's actually being used. AWESOME.
I downloaded the latest jaxws-rt.jar and all its dependencies, shoved that into my lib folder, and set the endorsed dir to that folder (There's kind of a web of dependencies here. jaxws-rt.jar expects all its dependencies to be in the same folder, it seems, so I don't know how it was "working" before when I just copied jaxws-rt.jar into my separate endorsed dir - but I can't move all of those files to endorsed because I need them in my project (which expects them to be in the lib folder)). What happened? It went back to my original "String" error (first error in the first post), which means it's not getting endorsed at all from that location.
    What a mess.
Can someone tell me what the heck I'm supposed to do with this jar file?

The class the error message is referring to is defined with a SWC that my project links to. However, I've even tried to define a class with that same name (and location) within my project and it still fails to find it.
Why am I able to Project->Clean and run this project within the desktop AIR player (or on the device in debug mode) but unable to export it as a release build?
I have found a couple of threads mentioning a similar error but none of them have been marked as resolved.

At this point I feel I am talking to myself, but I will share my work-around in case it helps another who may stumble across this post.
In my particular case, both my main AIR application and my ANE wrapper library were referencing the same external Flex library (same revision). Both projects had the library linkage set to merge. Changing the linkage to "External" on one of the 2 libraries (it doesn't seem to matter which) and leaving the other as "Merged into code" enabled the export to complete without the bizarre "Unable to find named traits" error.

    I already try:
-Delete cache and temp file (library/cache)
    - I delete old and new installation of java folders inside: /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions
    - I delte folder: /System/Library/Java
    - Already download manually the Java from Apple site, reinstall 2 times and reboot... not solved.
    ANy idea?

Thanks to Brody and Mark Jalbert to help me to find the problem I hope this not ocurred again.
I give some feedback if this problem ocurred to other person, I see same error from 2009/2010... so is not a current problem, is a MacOS software problem of folders/permissions.
    Best regards!
    ========================================================
Now I reboot, and all is solved (I already reboot 3 times and check and uncheck box you say).
    Now something change=

    IMPORTANT:
Is not a good idea to add permissions to all folders, and give wrong permissions or more permissions o files.... is really danger, please do a backup first if you want to do a test...
I think the permissions, and the reboot solve, but I'm not sure what really do this change....
    how i fix the problem:
    1)
    /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java
files i add permissions of my user, and write read:
    deploy.jar
    javaws.jar
    2)
    /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Home/Lib
I add here too a R+W permission to "system" and to my user r+w
    3)
I moved the ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.java.JavaPreferences.*.plist file and ran Java Preferences again.
    4) Shutdown, and boot again.
    IF PROBLEM PERSIST:=

It looks like your connection settings in your browser or your Java VM are going through a proxy, which likely requires authorization - if this is an internal page can you try it without using the proxy info?

Check whether your connection pool and datasource are really

  • Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread on Win2000

    Dear all,
I install a java server (SAP J2EE) on the windows machine and run into the following problem: the total number of threads cannot exceed 1200 (as i see this in the task manager)
After it does reach this number no other tasks can be started. Thereafter i get java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread error .
However the other machine where the same distribution of Win2000 Server is installed can easily coupe with more than 2500 theads. The same is true when the safe mode on the first machine is on: I can generate more than 1200 threads. So it seems the problem has something to do with Windows itself.
I am really puzzled here, would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dimitry

well, i do not supply any options when i start jvm, but it is not the course:
it also happens with c programs. however in the safe mode it works. both for c and for java program.
so it must be either some software (however memory is ok) or ...? i am lost. In some Unix system you can set the total number of threads allowed as an option in the kernal. But i guess this is not the case with windows.
Thanks a lot for your reply,

The above mentioned is coming several times , anybody please help out to get rid of this issue.
    Thanks in advance ,
    Krikar.

This only tells you that the JVM is running out of heap space. It doesn't tell you what is causing the problem. You likely have a memory leak, but you could also try increasing the max heap size of the JVM (-Xmx command line option). It would help to watch the % mem in use statistic, but only immediately after a garbage collection cycle (you can force a GC from the admin console). If the % mem in use after the GC is increasing over time, then that likely confirms you have a memory leak. Note that looking at that statistic during the server startup probably is irrelevant. You'd need to wait until the server finishes starting up, and likely processed a few messages (to load static data).
If you get to the point of confirming that you have a memory leak, that requires doing detailed analysis with a Java profiler (JProfiler, JProbe, YourKit, etc.) to track down the source of the leak.

If i create a skin file under anyother folder directly under the webcontent say /css/test-skin.css it works file.
Am i doing something wrong or missing any entries?Help is appreciated.
    Thanks

By default, trinidad-config picks up the skin setup through the preference bean - "#{preferenceBean.defaultTrinidadSkin}". The default skin can be setup through adf-config.xml at design time (look for <portal:preference id="oracle.webcenter.portalapp.skin") or using the Administration console at run-time. The value used here is whatever you've configured as "Skin Family" when creating the portal resource.
Of course, you can edit the trinidad-config to hard-code the skin as well using the same "Skin Family" from the Create Portal Resource dialog.

Can you provide more information on your jws ? Also can you start the server
