Unable to import cell data from another sheet in Numbers

Hi. I have a column of cells that I need to import the values of (copy) from one SHEET to another (not a table within same sheet etc).
Recently moved to Numbers from buggy GoogleDocs/Drive. Within that i could =importrange and reference the cells in the other sheets tables.
Failing this, is it possible to allow my customers to view one table within my worksheet, i.e. only have one table viewable and the others not etc?

Hi Si,
There are many ways of doing this in Numbers. If you will be sorting your column the function INDEX() could work for you. If you will not be sorting try this:
Click where you want your first cell to move to. Type "="
Navigate to your other sheet and click in the first cell you want to move.
Hit return.
your value should show in your new sheet.
Fill your newly made formula down the rest of the column.

My G5 recently died on me, and I'm currently using an older computer (eMac) that's still running 10.4. But I still have access to my G5's hard drive through a FireWire connection. What I'm trying to find a way to do is to reload all my G5 iCal data into my eMac's iCal app. Obviously, I didn't know my computer was going to die on me, so I didn't export an iCal file beforehand. So, assuming all my old calendar data is still on my G5 hard drive, what files will I need to copy over to my eMac? And will there be any complications bringing iCal info from 10.5 over to 10.4?

Hey everybody, I am sorry to post here if it has been previously posted. I am looking to use a conditional format a cell with a value less than 84 to be changed to red. I am using the iPad.

Insert data from another sheet

I have a problem;
I want to be able to create a drop down list on one sheet that references a table on another sheet. The data looks like this;

I am hoping to create a Drop-down box on another sheet that lets me select a 'unit', and then places the Cost per day in the cell next to it.
Is this possible within numbers without a huge IF'cell'= formula?
My aim is to be able to use an iPad running Numbers to create instant quotes when onsite with clients, by referencing a data sheet but presenting it nicely.

Yes, VLOOKUP should work nicely for that. Set the formula up on one sheet and complete it by clicking the ranges in the lookup table on the other sheet.

Applescript to import cell data from Numbers table

I have 2 questions:
the first I am importing the value of cells from Numbers to a list within my script. The cell's orginal value is set to automatic, but it's a number:
833094
but what imports into my list is as follows:
8.33094+5
How might I handle this without changing the integrity of the Cell's value and data type?
Second question: Again, I am importing the values of a range of cells into a list, The cell's data type is date (e.g. July 24, 2013 12:21:10 AM.) The import to my list comes off OK, but when I attempt to set the same date type (date) back to a new cell I get an execusion error. All other data types (except date) seem to move from a my list to a cell without problem. How might I work around this problem

I assume you can set the cell (using Applescript) with some format. You may need to set the format to "Automatic". Hopefully Hirohito or BadUnit who have more Applescript experience can assist. The actul value is there an correct. You can try it manually in Numbers on your own:

Tables are already created in both of the oralce databases only the data varies. I just have to import only few records from one oracle to another with the same user name and table already existing.
I have tried using database link. I can view records from the other oracle database but as soon as i write an insert command oracle gets held. I cant do anything.
Is there any other way?

Unable to export more than 19 rows of data from Excel sheet

Anyone could please guide me how to export more data from excel sheet.
I tried with 50 row but only 19 rows are exported.
Appln builder==> create ==> Export from spread sheet --> Copy paste / csv export (i tried both) but i got only 19 rows.

Hi Manoj,
If you're talking about the 19 rows you see while in the create wizard, that is just a sample of the data so you can see what you're working with while specifying column names, types, etc. Once you finish working in the wizard it should import all of the rows assuming there aren't any error-rows.

Chrome missing in Import data from another browser

I use both chrome and firefox portable from site portableapps because mozilla doesn´t have a portable version.
My dilemma today is this:
I always had on firefox on menu "import and backup" > > "import data from another browser" listing chrome like this

today i want to import chrome bookmarks to firefox but chrome is missing on the list, in the past i always had it there listed now is just pointing to IE
Do i need chrome installed on machine to grab something from registry?
By what i can remember always had that option on portable versions, i am importating this with a fresh pc machine because i installed now windows where i previously wiped the disk from manufacturer erasing tool.
i digged the net and on questions here but cant find why its missing, can you guys tell me why?
P.S- i would like to say that this site, Mozilla and Mozilla support, forums and community are the best service i´ve seen in years over the whole web i believe its really the best one and am not writing this because of this question, only thing missing is having Mozilla apps portable, a online chat would be cool too for the community

Which that version you probably need to export the bookmarks to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.
You can open the Bookmarks Manager in Google Chrome (wrench icon > Bookmarks > Bookmarks Manager) and select "Tools > Export Bookmarks" 
This will export the Chrome bookmarks to a file bookmarks.html. 
You can import that file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML : "From File"

I would like to import my bookmarks from IE but the 'Import Data from Another Browser' is greyed out and not an available choice.

Import data from another browser - Only few IE9 favorites get transfered to bookmarks. HTML solution - HTML file all favorites correct, but same result

Win7 / IE9: First time use. Example: One favorites folder has 4 HTML entries - only 2 get transferred. Some have none transfered - folder empty. Others have random correct + some missing.

I can see complete IE9 Favorites HTML list in HTML file on Desktop with Firefox -> New Tab -> Open File.-> Open
In desktop HTML file, there are 37 IE9 folders with no more than nesting 3 deep in any one top folder. These are all correct wrt IE9 favorites.
All top folders + deepest nests are copied to FF ok. Contents random. Copied contents work ok
7 HTML web sites not allocated to IE9 top folders are also copied <- these 7 copy to FF and work ok
Example: First folder in IE9 list has no nesting., IE9 has 4 entries - Firefox has only 2. when either method of copying is used.
BTW - please advise how I can delete whole Bookmark list in Firefox in one keystroke to be able to retry with a clean Bookmark list
I am going to uninstall Firefox and start again with a clean copy and use HTML method only to try to transfer IE( files. I will report result.
BTW, I am in UK on UK time - hence delays in replying - need to sleep sometimes!!!!!

I uninstalled Firefox. Re installed and loaded IE9 favorites from HTML file.
All seem copied correctly
First time I started by using the "import data from another browser". Partial copied.
Then I tried "Import from HTML file" without deleting whatever favorites had been copied. Still partial copied.
All seems well.

Why the "Import Data from Another Browser" option cannot be chosen

I click on History on the menu, then, Show All History option, a new window appears called Library.
I click on the button: 'Import and Backups', a drop down menu appears with the option 'Import Data from Another Browser'; however, this option in my browser is light gray, i.e. I cannot choose it. Why?

Are you in the Private Browsing mode when you try that Import menu item?

The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.

Getting short dumps while reading bulky data from excel sheet

Hi all,
We have converted our non-unicode based sap system (R/3 4.7, Windows 2003,
SQL 2000) into a unicode based system recently. We are facing two peculiar
problems for last few days.
*Problem 1 - *Whenever we want to upload the data from excel sheet, the
system throws a dump after reading about 400 entries, while last week the
same system used to read about 8000 entries in a single go.
*Problem 2 - *Also, whenever we realease a transport requst from development
containing a lot of changes, the request will reach the quality system but
without the changes. but if i ll try to import the changes into quality
system after generating more than one request containing small small
changes, they get reflected in QAS immediately. Is there any size
constraint in transporting a request fro DEV->QAS->PRD.
Please suggest some ways.

Procedure
1. Make sure that you have imported the appropriate Support
Package, the current kernel, and GUI patch for the release of your

users, for example because of a specific Customizing setting.
If it only occurs locally, this suggests an installation problem
with the PC. Check the installation; if necessary, reinstall the

158985).
4.Start the transaction and continue until the screen immediately
before the dump.
5. From the System -> Utilities menu, choose Autom. Queue,
Synchronous Processing.
The status bar of the GUI displays the text:

6. If you now proceed with the application, the short dump will
display the ABAP call that caused the error; the Automation Trace
will contain the error on the presentation server.
7. If necessary, load the short dump and trace files on to
sapservX, so that SAP can analyze them.

How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.

and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
part.
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.

for the 50 millionth time: Excel spreadsheets are NOT databases, you should NOT try to use them as such and NEVER access them using JDBC.
You should also under NO condition use the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver (that was actually the 78 millionth time that was told someone).
