Unable to kill work process and user sessions.
Hi Gurus,
Iam facing a different problem in my prd system.Dialog process of a particular user has been running continuosly for long time, when i killed it with cancel with core or with out core option in sm50 still it is starting automatically on different PID and going in to loop.Even though user is not logged in and no back ground jobs are running still the process is running on its own.Even i tried killing the PID from OS level using DPMON but was of no help.
I tried to kill the user session and log him out from sm04 from it was not happening, locked the user also but was of no help.
Has anybody faced this situation? Is there any option excluding restarting the system to solve this issue.
Thanks&Regards
Prashant
Hi Prashant,
In case of multiple instances you have to log off the user from system wide select this option from SM04 while deleting user session again look for the action in SM50 for the process and if possible get details by activating trace from ST05 and filter with user, wp.
Thanks,
Saleem

Issue:
On a vanilla installation, the sandboxed code service (e.g. SPUCHostService.exe) is started; however, SPUCWorkerProcessProxy.exe and subsequently SPUCWorkerProcess.exe fails to start.
Resolution/Workarounds attempted:
Attempted 2 different Load balancing settings – local and remote (i.e. affinity)
Ensured local computer policy on server for ‘RPC Endpoint Mapper Client Authentication’ and ‘Restrictions for Unauthenticated RPC clients’ is disabled.
Ensured following key in registry is set properly - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\RPC
Attempted to bypass SharePoint’s check for certificate revocations at crl.microsoft.com
Ensured the service account is added to the respective groups (e.g. Performance Log Users, Performance Monitor Users, IIS_IUSRS, WSS_ADMIN_WPG, WSS_WPG)
Increased limit of ‘AbnormalProcessTerminationCount’ of SPUserCodeService via Powershell
We have tried all possible workarounds from the following MSDN reference:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepointdev/archive/2011/02/08/error-the-sandboxed-code-execution-request-was-refused-because-the-sandboxed-code-host-service-was-too-busy-to-handle-the-request.aspx

Any other insights on how I can troubleshoot the issue described?
Thanks in advance!Hi ,
For resolving your issue , you can do as the followings:
1. Logged into the Web Server with the Timer Service Account.
2. Ran the powershell command to check the SID of the account running the spucworkerprocessproxy.exe:
$(Get-SPManagedAccount -Identity "THE SERVICE ACCOUNT").Sid.Value
3. Checked the registry :
HKEY_USERS\[SID OF THE SERVICE ACCOUNT]\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing\State
4. Changed the value 0x00023c00 to 0x00023e00
In addition, here are some similar posts for you to take a look at:

Update Work Process and Background work process
Hi Friends,
I have a doubt regarding the "Update Work Process and Background work process" ......
which one is used at what scenario ?????
If not wrong --> update work process is used when there is an update task .........??? and similarly If background work process is used when there a background task is given explicitly .........???
Can we can update anything through Background>????
If yes .... which workprocess will be selected at that time??????
Expecting your answers ??
Thanks in advance !!

I attempted to open a new window from the Firefox icon but nothing happens. I then went on browsing and closed Firefox but was later unable to open it. I checked processes and it was already running but there was no window displayed. I am running Windows 7 Professional.
This is repeated any time I already have the browser open and wish to open a second instance.'''<u>Open a second window (not a second tab, that is different) when Firefox is already running and displayed on the monitor</u>'''

How to monitor / shutdown processes and users?
Hi,
As you can see in my previous post i'm totally new to Arch and fairly new to Linux...
Here's one thing that bothers me: I don't know how to keep track of all running processes (and end them if needed... I guess you need to 'kill' them but you first need to know their name, right...) and logged on users (even though that's only me, heh...)
How can you do that in Linux? (something like task manager or another admin tool - or a command line version)
Another thing... I think a wiki page 'securing the default Arch install' would be helpful...
(flame me if there already is one, but I didn't find it )
greetings,
d.
(I think Arch is going to be the one Linux distro to break the record of 1 month installation on my pc... woohoo!!!)Kern wrote:
processes man ps
Now only 2 questions are left: how to monitor logins, and how to secure Arch Wink
Arch Wink, is this a subrelease of Arch? if so i've never heard of it.
I really don't know how that ended up in my post especially because I use semicolon, bracket instead of colon, wink, colon for my smiley...
but as relates to securing Arch, of course I mean against network based attacks. The way you would try to secure Windows. I know how to own windows computers when I have physical access to them, and I guess it's the same thing with Linux pc's... but I want to feel secure that nobody from the internet is going to appropriate my box for illegal or other things, on those few occasions that i'm not behind a router/firewall (which I am not sure I trust either... it's a Linksys wireless/wired router with integrated firewall capability. How secure is that? I don't know!)
Is there no way to deny all other pc's access to this pc? It's a laptop, not a server, so nobody has business accessing it remotely anyway... Actually, this is one of the reasons I had an eye on openBSD secure as hell...
EDIT: since we're at it... another thing I don't find is how I can find out at what speed my cpu is running... is it going down to 600 MHz when Idle or isn't it? etc... That stuff is pretty easy to see in windows... must be feasible at least in Linux hey -
Mapping between SAP work process and db2 application/applications ?
Hi,
I want to identify what db2 application(s), maps to particular SAP work process.(when I mean db2 application I mean entry in "list applications" command output)
Both db2 "list applications" and SAP work process lists PIDS of processes they belog.
I want to find what db2 process maps to particular sap work process ? (I'm not sure is it one-to-one or one-to-many)
thanks
ViliusUsing the DBACOCKPIT / ST04 (DB02 ... just leads you to a different branch of the DBACOCKPIT) gives you the option to view the mapping from SAP level.
The DB2 facility to use is the application snapshot
db2 get snapshot for applications on <dbname>
which is not very handy to use.
Another way that can be used from DBACOCKPIT (see Diagnostic -> SQL Commands) and database level is SQL - in V9.1 and V9.5 e.g. use
select agent_id, client_pid, coord_agent_pid from sysibmadm.snapappl_info
In v8 (as of fp9), you also can use SQL - just the view names are different. The beauty of this approach is that you easily can taylor the query to provide exactly the info you need. I suggest to consult the documentation on available views and routines.

Dialog work process and single-sign on
Hi,
I have read that we should have atleast 2 dialog work processes configured.
can anyone tell me the reason why?
what is the concept behind single sign-on?
much appreciate ur help.
regards,
swaroop.Hi Swaroop,
I have never heard of something like that before...
You can read more about single sign on here,

Hi, every one:
Here's my question of my day - >>>
I am using weblogic 6.1 SP2 right now - running on Unix and Win 2K, and
I got a web service up and running called Price Update web service through
which user can pick up a price and push a deal to another web service
called: deal service, the deal service will take the user deal and book the
deal ( sending a JMS message to a Queue, a MD will pick up and do the work,
then send the confirmation to another JMS Queue ), then the confirmation
will be picked up and sent to another web service , called: User Deal
Confirmation Service, here's the question:
1. Since the client application is only allowed to see its own confirmed
deals, how I can make the confirmed deal encrypted based on a server
generated key or the session id that client application provides
2. Now, I have 3 webservices: update, deal and confirm, each of them has a
client.jar file available - from the client application point of view, do I
need all these 3 client.jar, or I just need one of them ?????
3. How can I use web service call back in wls 6.1 sp2 ?????? - in the 7.0
beta, you can do this easily in the workshop, in the second question above,
I think I need some how relate the confirmation to the client conversation
id ??
thanks a lot for the input, have a nice day.

2. How do you specify the location of the User Processes logging information ?
- I said ( user process - udump and bgprocess - trace files) - but someone disagree my answer.
Please correct my answer ..Hello ;
When i am listing bdump , i got (trace files ) related to some background process.
but i did NOT gather any valid information from here. Some informations unable to understand.
My ques is " *why this much of trace file associated with BG process ? * - ( without any error)

Fingerprint Reader not working for unlocking user session
I have a Thinkpad T440 with windows 8.1 Enterprise and a strange problem with the fingerprint reader. After reboot, I can logon with no issue to the domain using fingerprint. When I lock the PC and try to logon again, biometric logon is not available and I'm unable to authenticate with fingerprint. When I do a "switch user", biometric logon is again available on the logon screen and I can logon to my session with fingerprint.
I've installed the latest Lenovo software via System Update, also all Windows patches. Client is joined to the domain, I have local admin right. Clients running Windows 7 do not have this issue.
Any help from the community?Nobody able to help?

Which mac is really good for hdv working process and render??
I'll work my hdv native workflow soon and I'm really very interesting on how to get the most of Mac product,s but I'm still asking me what is the minimun of features do I need on a MAc to process without any disturb or overload and render my video in Blu ray for distribution and broadcasting purposes.
The MacBook Pro provides one key advantage not possible with the 12-inch PB -- the ability to create a second firewire bus using the ExpressCard/34 slot.
In this manner, you can separate fw drives from camera/deck -- a big issue with FCP5 and certain cameras and hard drives.
It is a key difference for anyone considering video editing.
You'll get a beefier video card, and the ability to preview. -
One work process can only process one user request at a time?
Hi,
How to configure the how many work processes for 80 concurrent users login daily. One work process can only process one user request at a time? Does this mean a login user has a dedicated work process servicing him. Or many login users interleave a work process's service? ,clarify the same.
ThankuThere are different types of work processes and the number needed depends on the number of transactions that will take place in the system. We are running 80 concurrent users with 15 dialog work processes. Please see the link below for an explanation:

[Solved] Unable to kill process
Hi,
After an upgrade this week I'm having a problem not being able to kill a crashing process. The process that crashes is linuxdcpp. I'm able to close the window and clicking force quit but when i list all processes with ps -A the process is still there. When i try kill, kill -9 the process is still there. even if I log in as root Im not able to kill the process and I'm not able to restart the computer with shutdown or restart. Anybody know how to handle this?
I've tried to reinstall both linuxdcpp and all packages in base with no result. linuxdcpp works fine a cuple of second before crashing. I also tried to downgrade the kernel since I remember that it was one of the packages installed. I have not tried anything else because of that I don't remember what package was installed. Is there some kind of log?

Just to prevent any confusion, -SIGKILL, -KILL, and -9 do the exact same thing (man kill).
Yes I know that.. But I sometimes is better to use -9 and others -SIGKILL.
Just one question: if they do the exact same thing, at which times is it better to use SIGKILL instead of -9? -
XServe and 10.5 won't boot..."syncing disks killing all processes"
Hey Everybody,
Have an Xserve Intel Quad-Core Xenon 2.8 GHz, 80gb, 2 Gb RAM. 10.5 Server.
2 Gb of RAM has been anemic. The server runs a few Cold Fusion Web Sites, DNS, OD, FTP, AFP, and Mail Services. Our mail is not light duty as we send out almost daily 70,000 e-mails to our customers.
Last week I added 2 x 4gb DIMM to bring up the RAM to 10 Gb. I added the RAM to slots 3 & 4. Saw great improvement right away. The night after, I noticed the server rebooted during the night. (Didn't look into why )
Well, I came in this morning and was checking up on the server (via ARD) and couldn't connect. Went to the server room and saw the machine was off. Not good. I restarted it and went back to my office. Checked again on ARD, and still wasn't available. Went back to server, rebooted in verbose mode (after booting with a monitor and seeing the screen show the apple with the spinning gear) and It's hanging then shutting down within three minutes of boot.
Attached is a pic of what is shown, at around 3 minutes from boot the screen will then say "syncing disks killing all processes" and the server shuts down.
I've googled all morning and have tried various methods to boot to no avail.
I removed the RAM that I added and the problem persists. I also removed the drive sled and reinserted it into the xserve and also tried bay 2.
Other things...
Yesterday added two more web sites and the DNS for it in Server Admin.
Any suggestions? Bad drive?
ShaunOK, having exactly same issue - but on a much older and much less duty machine. Dual G4 1Ghz running 10.5 Server. Noticed that I could not connect via ARD and did hard shutdown, notice identifier light was on as well. The system did reboot as I could get my mail, but when I connected a monitor to it all I had was gray screen.
Did another hard shutdown after pressing IL and not just gets to logo and spinning wheel for a short while and shuts down.
It has been up and running flawlessly for long time prior to this.
My name is Sean too, maybe that is the issue...
