Unable to Launch Integration Builder: Java Web Start problem

Hi,
I am unable to launch the integration builder. I am using JDK 1.4.2_05. The java Web Start gives the following error:
Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system
Unsigned resource: http://<XIHostName>:50000/rep/repository/aii_util_rb.jar
I have tried deleting the Java web start cache, and even reinstalling the JDK.
Can someone suggest a workaround this problem ?
thanks,
Manish

The Java Web Start cannot accept unsigned jars. If the jars are signed, it will ask in a dialog box if it should allow unrestricted access to this jar.
In my case, I upgraded XI SP0 to SP4, which included updating the Adapter Core, Adapter Framework, and the XI TOOLS to SP4.
On launching the Web start, it seemed that the jars were not getting signed. JWS cannot allow unsigned jars to the client.
These jars are maintained in:
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\directory_server\javaws\directory
I am having problems with my XI upgrade to SP4, and it is probably not signing the jars.
Do you know why this may be happening ...
thanks,
Manish

  • Unable to launch Integeration Builder - Java Web Start - Unexpected Error

    Hi there,
    I am not able to launch the Integeration builder. The ESR has no problem and is working fine though.
    Here is the exception :- com.sap.aii.ibdir.gui.appl.ApplicationImpl
    I have tried below options already :
    1. Cleared the java cache under - javaws -logviewer
    2. Go into administration and inside Directory --> Java Web Start Administration clicked "Restore archives and generate new sign."
    Strange part is some of my colleagues here doesnt have any issue while opening the Integeration Builder. In fact I dont have any such issue in QA and PROD environment. The issue is only in DEV environment. Please advice.
    Anshul

    Hello,
    Usually restoring the archives will help resolve the issue.
    If the issue is occurring for just yourself maybe you could check that you are using the correct java version. e.g. for for 7. 1 java version 5
    Also please refresh the Java Web Start:
    If it's a Windows terminal, select Start - Run - javaws to launch Java Web Start and then clear the cache. File -> preferences ->
    advanced -> clear folder button
    If you have later versions of Java and doing the
    Start -> Run doesn't give you anything, then select Start - Run and type Control and hit Enter. Double-click Java in the list
    that displays to view the more up-to-date Java Control Panel. In the General tab, select Settings from the Temporary Internet Files section. Click Delete Files to clear the cache and then log into the Integration Builder again (download will be longer as jars will be cached locally again).
    If the problem still remains I would advise to check that the latest patches have been applied for XI_TOOL, and also the other components MESSAGING  SAP-XIAFC SAP_XIAF SAP_XIESR SAP_XIGUI

    It happens the same under Windows 7 and Linux -using openJRE and icedtea as substitution of Java Web Start-.
    I'm behind a proxy. In my browser -Chrome, IE and FF- putted the info of the proxy and I can browse. Aldo tried to put the info in the Java "Network Settings". It did not work -the launching of the console-.
    I installed the last Java Web Start in Windows 7 -Java7 Update5-. I disabled my anti-virus and firewall. Always the same result.
    Could you help me please. I don't have idea of what is going on.

    PD: I tested from other machines of the company and it works. So, I guess is my laptop. I exported the oracle certificates from those machine and imported them into mine.

  • Java Web Start Problems

    Hello,
    I've written a program in NetBeans 4.1 and I plan on deploying it using Java Web Start. The program launches fine in NetBeans, and when I double click on the jar file on my computer it runs fine.
    After building the program, I signed the jar file and created the jnlp file, then uploaded them both to my web server.
    When I try to launch the program from the internet I get the following error:

    OK,
    Nevermind, I just fixed the problem.
    I had to update my my jnlp file to <j2se version="1.5"/> , before I had it set to <j2se version="1.4"/> and it didn't work.

  • Problems with Java web start

    Hi All,
    I am facing a problem with Java Web Start. Which is the most appropriate version of JDK recommended for SAP XI? I tried
    JDK 1.4.2_04
    JDK 1.4.2_09
    JDK1.4.2_11
    JDK1.5.0_01
    When I click on Integration repository or Directory for the first time, it loads the jar files and while loading, I get an error msg "Unable to launch Integration Builder". After a lot of retries I get sucess. But still we are facing this issue in some machines. Can you pls let me know if there is any pre configuration or some thing I am missing...
    Regards,

    Did you check the proxy settings in JAVA Web start. Please follow the below instructions.
    This could be set to None or to specific for values HTTP Proxy and HTTP Port .
    Contact your network administrator for the correct settings.
    To change the Proxy Settings:
    Select Windows Start menu -> All Programs -> Java Web Start -> Java Web Start
    Choose File -> Preferences -> General
    Choose None to switch off the proxy settings or Manual to set the HTTP Proxy and HTTP Port.
    ChooseOK
    Close Java™ Webstart

  • How to launch integration builder with IE proxy?

    Hi,gurus:
    Our XI server is in remote side, so we have to set the IE proxy while launching integration server.But as you know,the integration builder woud not be launched successfully with IE proxy.So how can we deal with it?
    Any help will be appreciated!

    Hi,
    The error message is "unable to launch integration builder" ,which all of us might have ever met.
    I think it is the cause of IE proxy,but we have to set the proxy to get the environment from remote XI server.
    I have referenced note 800267,but it seems of no avail.
    Any ideas?

  • Unable to launch java web start

    We have already devloped an application based on java web start. Most of the client machines, we try to install java web start and run the developed app, it works fine. For one of the clients machine, we have an issue with java web start itself, it does not startup and bring up the application manager. When you start java web start, it shows up the splash screen 'java web start 1.0.1' after some time, it vanishes and does not bring up the application manager. I have installed java web start 1.0.1_01 (build 04) installed on Windows 2000 Professional, by default that has installed JRE 1.3.1_04 also.
    We verified the system, all the files being existing under c:\program files\java web start dir. And the JRE is also installed fine.
    Couple of times we uninstalled, rebooted and installed.
    Infact, we have even verified the file types for html, htm, which was set to msoffice, and we have changed to internet explorer. For jnlp file type it was already set to javaws.exe.
    Can you please let me know what could be the problem.
    Regards,
    Nagarjuna Rao Chakka

    There's nothing to stop you installing 1.4 or even 1.4.2, it's the jnlp file that specifies which runtime version gets used to run your application - web start can be used to happily switch runtimes like this. You'll just need to have 1.4 and 1.3 installed on each machine. It's a good idea to upgrade the web start client as the old 1.0 version doesn't work at all well with Windows XP, it's structure of storing all the files in c:\program files works against the security restrictions built into XP.
    Incidentally the config file you were looking for in under c:\program files\javaws\javaws.cfg, but this is different in later versions.
    Your problem is most likely being caused by web start not being able to find the Java runtime version it was installed with, the client may well have installed a newer (or older) version of 1.3 which has broken the configuration.. another reason to upgrade is the old versions are very fragile in this respect; 1.4.2 can find installed runtimes far more dynamically. Fixing the config file above should get things working again, otherwise delete the .javaws directory in the user profile and re-start web start.
    1.4.2 is the best at finding runtimes, but is marred by problems with the integration dialogs, locale always reported as en_US and some strange new behaviour with classloaders and malfunctioning auto installers.. jws 1.2 that comes with jre 1.4.1_x is far more reliable.

  • Java console doesn't launch when starting Java Web Start app from Firefox

    Updated my Linux desktop from RHEL to Fedora 12 with resultant upgrade of Firefox to 3.5.9 and now when I launch our Java Web Start application, no Java console appears. The Java Control Panel still shows "Show Console" as set. My app uses Java 1.5 which I have installed on my desktop.
    What do I do to properly configure my browser/desktop to support use of the Java console?

    1) Though you might try rebooting the machine if any installation/configuration changes have occurred since last boot.
    Also note that many problems with JWS apps. can be sorted be checking the JNLP using JaNeLA.

  • Refresh an open web page on closing an applet launch from Java Web Start

    Hi
    I launch an aplication via Java Web Start from a link in a web page. I am looking to a solution to refresh my web page when I close my applet.
    Thanks in advance to give me the solution or only to let me know if it's possible or not.

    everything's possible. but this is not trivial. there is no direct connection between the html page that launched the app and the app. You can create an indirect connection by having the app notify a server process when it closes and having the page periodically polling the server for the app's status.

    Raghu

    Hi All,
    After some configuration changes, now I am able to start Java Web start. But as soon as web start gets started it tries to download JRE from Sun site(though I have JRE installed on my system and the PATH is set). I am getting the following message : requesting JRE 1.4.0_01 from http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se.
    My .jnlp file is as given below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0" codebase="http://system-ip/webpad.war">
    <information>
    <title>WebPad 1.0</title>
    <vendor>Sun Microsystems, Inc.</vendor>
    </information>
    <resources>
    <property name="publish-url" value="$$context/publish"/>
    <j2se version="1.4.0_01"/>
    <jar href="webpad.jar" version="1.0"/>
    <jar href="jlfgr.jar" version="1.0"/>
    <extension name="Help System"
    href="javahelp.jnlp">
    <ext-download ext-part="javahelp" download="lazy" part="help"/>
    </extension>
    <jar href="holidays.jar" version="1.0" download="lazy" part="help"/>
    </resources>
    <application-desc main-class="WebPad"/>
    </jnlp>
    Please let me know, what should I do to rectify the above problem.
    thanks,
    Raghu
