Unable to launch PhPAdmin w/ previous version of mySQL?

I completed a course recently using a textbook that covered Dreamweaver's use with Coldfusion, ASP, and Php. The actual course only covered the Coldfusion section. As part of the coldfusion exercises, I installed mySQL 5.1.39 using a generic username and password.
I decided last month to go back through the book and cover the PhP sections. I've installed WAMP 2.0 on the same machine. (I also installed WAMP on a new computer where I hadn't installed mySQL yet, so I've identified the problem.) When I try to start phpAdmin I get thess "Access denied for user 'root@hocalhost' (using password : NO) with additional comments to check the username password configuration. But I can't find where to configure this in WAMP. Can anyone assist?
PhPAdmin launches just fine on the computer I haven't previously installed mySQL.

Mr. Powers, thanks for responding. I've also been googling this issue all weekend, and it looks like I'm not the only one that's encountered this problem. Attached is my confguration.inc file. Be advised the original file had no password value. Even when I added the password value, I was unable to launch the program. Please note that the "auth" line was already set to "config " as you had recommended. Any other suggestions? In a google thread you participated in a year or so ago, one of the solutions was to uninstall, then reinstall the existing mySQL application already in place prior to installing WAMP. I'm just a bt hesitant to do that because I have already set up a number of test and class sites using Coldfusion to connect to mySQL, and I'm afraid I'll have to replicate those connections in DW and / or recreate the schemas in mySQL.

On a Mac, unable to install latest Flash Player 12.0.0.44--or reinstall previous version that worked

I am on a Mac running the last version of Snow Leopard before Mavericks, 10.8.5. I am unable to install the new Flash Player 12.0.0.4--at about the 50% mark on the installing bar, it stops and I get an error message that installation failed. The version I had previously for some time, either 10. or 11. worked perfectly but I am not unable to reinstall any previous version either. So I have a project I cannot run that requires Flash Player and can't watch videos.
I found someone in a forum who mentioned he'd seen several people on Snow Leopard unable to install Flash Player but his directions to overcome that which did work for someone who tried it, appear to be for PC's: from his first direction of right-clicking, I didn't get the option he says to click on that starts the process.
Can anyone tell me how to install this new Flash Player in a Mac on Snow Leopard? Should I trash all the new versions of the installer and the Flash Player Debugger Version 11.4.402.287 (11.4) that I have from a previous installment, prior to trying again?

You're missing a file that was made visible by the 10.8.5 update. Hundreds of thousands of Mac users all over the world deleted it, not knowing what it was. It causes this when it's missing.
Download this file: "Secrets" pereference pane
And this one: mach_kernel.zip
Install Secrets, and open your System Preferences.
Open the Secrets Preference Pane, and check "Show hidden files"
You'll need to press the "Quit this" button,
and restart Finder, by right clicking the Dock icon.
Then, place the mach_kernel.zip file in the Mac HD directory,
and unzip it. You should see a "faded" mach_kernel file appear.
Trash the zip file.
Reopen your System Preferences and uncheck "Show Hidden files".
Instead of quitting Finder and relaunching it, reboot your Mac.
Your Flash Player installer won't quit anymore.

With version 5.0.1 bookmarks are automatically updated when launching the application, which was not the case in the previous versions. Is it possible to avoid that ?

I prefered the previous versions when the bookmarks did not update automatically when launching Firefox

If I understand correctly, then to add a new Section to a site, you have to subclass SubSection and somewhow integrate that into the system?
I would be my expectation that you only need to subclass SubSection when you tried to introduce a new type of SubSection.
The title & all other natural language Strings should never be hardcoded in Java code, but rather taken from some external storage (Database, XML, flat files, ...).

Unable to download previous version of Flash Player?

I am unable to view flash videos on some websites and able to on others. I have found many possible solutions on here and other websites but have not yet been able to fix the problem. I have decided to try and revert back to the previous version of flash player and see if that would work. I have followed and completed Chris Campbells post for cleanly uninstalling flash player:

Unable to install flash player after uninstalling previous version

I am unable to download/install flash player and I had already uninstalled the previous version. I had been playing farmville and my aol emails just fine and they both stopped working and I was told to try "updating" my flash player. Well, I must have done something wrong because it uninstalled ok but now when I download it again, I get "did not pass the integrity check (1629.304.428)" I also tried to reset IE 8 with no help. This all worked until about 4 days ago and I don't remember updating anything within the last week so I am not sure what I did wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
My OS is Windows Vista 64 bit, web browser is IE8, 32 bit, and I don't have a flash player version according to the link that was provided to check, it keeps giving me the link for the general page with no version numbers. Thanks!

It shouldn't be necessary to reboot the computer to complete an update. 
If a reboot is needed then that usually means that some (security) software is blocking files or you need elevated (UAC) permissions. 
Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator). 
If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall. 
Download a fresh copy of Firefox ([http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html]) and do a reinstall of Firefox on top of the current version. 
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
