Unable to load treo 90 software after 10.4.5 update

Hi --
Apple recently replaced the hard drive to my 12in powerbook g4 and I am having trouble loading older software in 10.4, namely Treo 90 software. The install fails after about 95 percent complete, each and every time. According to the handspring forum, this is a problem with 10.4.5 and now 10.4.6, as I have discovered. It worked in 10.3.
Is Apple solving this for the next update? Or is there 3rd party software that I can use?

Unable to load Device Software to BB Torch 9800

Hi,
I'm unable to load Device Software to my phone. Have tried with various Bundle from Various Carriers, still there seems to be no luck at all. Its basically dead now with no OS on it. I've tried with various Version of DM and DS, still nothing seems to be working what so ever.
My exact problem is, it's stuck at "Reconnecting to JVM" and that's it, nothing happens after that. There is a continuous blink of red light for seconds and that's it.
I have tried all possible solutions given in this forum, still no avail.
Could someone please help with this as a matter of urgency.

Manual device OS upgrade instructions:
1. First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.

2. Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry. Get DM here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
3. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
5. This step is not needed unless there is an issue on next steps. Use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup) then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed) then proceed to step 6
6. remove internet connection to PC and reboot PC.
7. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.
8. if you did Step 5, restore from back up. Follow this KB if needed http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

OpenDirectory: Unable To Load Replica List, after Time Machine Restore

I followed the following instructions provided on another thread (Open Directory: "Unable to load replica list"):
Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps.
1. The OD master must have a manually-assigned IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
2. The primary DNS server used by the master must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
3. Verify that the master's hostname matches its domain name by running the shell command
sudo changeip -checkhostname
4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases.
6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
7. Reboot the master and the clients.
8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
9. Export all OD users, delete them, turn off OD, turn it back on, and import. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.
And got the following results:

Check.
Resulted in the following console output: The names match. There is nothing to change.
The touch command resulted in "No such file or directory." I circumvented this by manually creating the migration directory, then running the command again. The killall command failed saying "No matching processes were found." Opening the server app after that shows no change.
My trusted certificate was apparently not restored from the backup, as it was no longer listed. I switched to the self-signed one until a CSR can be made.
I'm not clear on what this actually means. There is no unbind or rebind functionality in the server app. Not to mention that my users or groups are no longer listed.
Nothing changed after rebooting the server.
Have always logged into server using the local server admin account.
Where is this done? I don't see any place to do this in the Server App.
At this point I'm suspecting that there are some serious Time Machine recovery bugs with server, as I have tried with multiple different restore points all ending in the exact same result.
Any recommendations on where to go from here? I would love to do a fresh install, but need to archive the data from the server first. Unfortunately, I don't see how I can export each users' data without being able to log in as them.

There seem to be some issues with PostgreSQL not running. Marketcircle Daylite and Billings Pro also won't start, and are showing errors to that effect.

"Unable to load data" error after Windows update

Hi all,
I've been maintaining a LightSwitch desktop app for a couple of years now. The app runs on a server and several client machines access it. Sometime in the last few months, any client that has Windows Update enabled has failed to load data. Instead
it shows red crosses where the data should be and the tooltip, "Unable to load data. Please check your connection and try loading again."
Other clients that don't have updates enabled are fine. Has anyone else run into this issue? Does anyone know how to resolve it?

Unable to load some websites after an update to IOS6

I am unable to load some websites in both Safari and Google Chrome. This did not bother me until I found at that I cannot access some websites I can access before and frequent. I am unsure if this was caused by the update to ios6, but this incident only happened after the update. I am unsure as well if this is related to the problem of me unable to connect to itunes and app store after the update. I've fixed those by changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and changing the time trick. I've also noticed that twitter and some apps crashed a lot. I have no problem connecting to the wifi though. Thank you in advance.

Some additional details I have also noticed. Some images will not show or appears as a blue and white question mark in some websites. Even here in apple website.

Unable to load 8610 software

Everytime I try to load the software i get a meesage that the software is not available. I have tried to load it from the HP site - but same message, what am I doing wrong or what do i need to do to get the printer set up on my MacBook Pro?

In order, try:

Repair disk permissions
Restart the Mac

Unable to load OSX Tiger after powercut during software update

My Imac G5 (purchased September 2005), running OSX Tiger, was in the middle of a software update when we had a powercut. Now, when you turn it on, it gets as far as the blue screen with the grey Mac OSX box and status bar (after the grey screen with the spinning dial), but no further. The status bar does not move and I cannot get it to safe boot. If I hold down the shift key after the start up tone, then the fans come on and it takes a little longer to go past the initial grey screen, but once again stops when you get to the blue screen and status bar. Also, my install discs have disappeared off the face of the planet. Help!

Boot it from your install CD/DVD...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
If it completes fine, then use the Archive and Install feature...

Unable to Restore BB Software after OS Upgrade

Hi. I am unable to restore several programs (PWKeeper, BBM, BBTraffic, Memo, Tasks, Maps) after a wipe and OS upgrade. I backed up the phone prior to the wipe but did not turn off wireless sync. Learning now that I should have. I have deleted desktop sync service book, rebooted, tried to restore. No success. Even reinstalled OS. Is there combo-keys to enter on phone that turns off wireless sync prior to restore? DM is not allowing me to restore these apps. 9850 Storm. Thx for help.

Oh......BBSAK for this...got'ca. I'd not assumed you were using that methodology. You probably need to do some research on BBSAK.ORG as to this...there likely are posts on their own site dealing with the issue. As I recall, it's not guaranteed to be 100% perfect...but I don't recall much more than that as I prefer, whenever I update my BB OS, to reinstall all of my apps from scratch...just to be most sure that things are truly "clean". It is also possible that the apps you are trying to restore aren't compatible with the precise OS level you have updated to (with the apps you listed, this may actually be a high probability since those apps are normally included with the OS package itself).
Since the apps you listed are provided along with the OS package, then the normal method of installing them from the Desktop Software should indeed work...odd that they are greyed out for you there. FYI...those apps normally aren't part of any Desktop Software backup per se...data from them and/or configuration settings about them may well be included in the databases, but nor normally the apps themselves per se.
I suppose what I'd recommend is skipping the BBSAK app backup for anything that is included within the BB OS package itself (in the list you provided, all are part of the OS package, though BBM likely will have an update available from AppWorld). Then, again use BBSAK to perform another wipe/reload of your desired OS, but during the OS loading selections make sure that the apps you listed are selected to be loaded to your BB while it loads the OS (as opposed to trying to add them later).
Then, the 3rd party app restore from BBSAK may well work for the other apps you backed up with it...or you can reacquire them from their original sources (AppWorld, etc.) and perform a clean install of them all.
An odd situation you indeed have, but I'm sure there's a way to get you going again.

Unable to Load Windows 7 after a power failure

My windows 7 workstation was in a sleep mode when a power failure happened. after trying to power up the machine it tries to resume windows session but stucks after displaying an error unable to find saved session. it gives an option to either delete saved
session and boot or locate the session, but none of the periferal devices are responding, so I am unable to select either option.
I have a standard 102 logitech keyboard connected to that workstation. it works wen I select to enter a bios on the start up, but does not respond to any other prompts.
Any advice?

In addition, try to boot into safe mode and check the results.

Unable to load Nokia Software Updater

Due to problems with my PC, I have had to re-load PC Suite and Software Updater. PC Suit loaded fine but the Software Updater gives this message:
"The version of Nokia Software Updater already installed on this PC is newer than the one you are trying to install. The installation will not continue".
I have downloaded the latest version, and there is no other one loaded as I un-installed all the Nokia software. This is obviously a Registry issue, can someone help in resolving it?

I think you can download and install NSU separately. I'd probably uninstall the lot (PC Suite, Cable driver and NSU), then download and install the latest versions of PC Suite and NSU.

Unable to Load Mac OSX after update - Urgent! Please Help

I just updated my Mac using System update, which required a start.
I restarted the computer, but it's stuck in the gray apple screen with the circular running bars. It's been now 10 minutes, and it never took so much. I tried to turn it off, then on again, same problem. What should I do? Please, help!

Problem solved.
First of all, thank you all for the advices and links, now I learned something. After panicking, I tried the PRAM reset restart and the "shift" restart and it didn't work. I didn't have the installation disk with me, so I went straight to Tekserve to hear them. They told me that my system got corrupted for some reason and I had two options with them:
- a quick fix, for US$59, which would erase all my HD content and take 24 hours
- a fix without erasing the HD, for US$195, which would take 4 business days!
They said those were all the options. For me the money was not major problem. The big issue for me would be not having my computer for many days.
Then I thought: what if I try to reinstall the system myself? And they said: well, you can try that.
That's what I did as I got home. Install disk, restart holding down the "C" key.
One hour later, everything was back to normal.
Now the question: why at tekserve they didn't say anything to me about reinstalling the system myself?
Anyway, this was the first major problem I bumped into since I have turned to apple 3 years ago.

Unable to load pdf docs after loading Adobe Flash Player

I loaded Adobe Flash player today and now I am sorry that I did. When I try to open any pdf documents on my mac I get a message to the affect that I need to lauch adobe reader, accept the terms of the agreement, quit my browser (safari) and relaunch it. When I try to do all of this, I cannot find a way to accept the terms and conditions of adobe. I'm am so stuck and so frustrated! 1) I am able to access the f4m from the browser of the client macines.
2) Crossdomain.xml is already there in the webroot.
3) The 3 f4v are placed in the application/vod as we are implementing the rtmp dynamic streaming.

Unable to load certain websites after 10.5.3 upgrade

Since upgrading to 10.5 .3, I haven't been able to load a few websites using either Safari, Camino or Firefox. Error message is "Safari can’t open the page “http:///” because it can’t find the server “www.politico.com”.
Safari Activity Window has these items:

I have tried all the usual repairs and tests, and creating new user account, etc., but problem persists.
Is it possibly something related to 10.5.3 It is only a few sites, but the browsers stall and can't find the server of the requested site?

If it is happening in all browsers, then it can't be a Safari cache issue.
Are you using a proxy server? (Look in Network Preferences -> Advanced (for your active connection to find out). If so, try removing it.
Also, try opening Terminal and typing:
ping www.politico.com
Does it resolve the name successfully? If not, there is the possibility of a DNS issue on your computer/network.

Unable to load some applications after reformatted

My MacBookPro was purchased in July 2009. Recently, Apple replaced the hard drive and reformatted the whole computer for me. So when I tried to reinstall all my applications again, I realized some of the applications that I always use could not be opened, like Firefox, ITune, skype, and etc...I tried to erased them from Application and re-download them, but the icon would be jumping up and down on the dock and not do anything...
I also tried to put in the Application install DVD...but it doesnt work...
Does anyone know why and what should I do? Q_Q Thank you!

Do you have access to an Apple Store? If so, make an appointment at the genius bar and see what the problem is. There could possibly be a problem with the new drive.
Are you saying that you can't boot from your install DVD? What happens when you try? If you can boot from your install disc, navigate to Disk Utility and see if you can repair your boot disk.
Do you have your gray system discs? If so, see if you can boot to the Apple Hardware test and if you can, run the extended version.
If you open Disk Utility, is the SMART status verified? Can you verify the disk?
The genius bar would probably be able to give you the quickest help, but if you don't have access to an Apple Store, post back with a little more information.

Unable to boot Mac OS after 10.6.5 update

Just a question. Dont know whether its due to the 10.6.5 update. After reboot to windows. I can't log in To my Mac os anymore. It just get stuck at the grey apple logo and bar comes out and loads and it shuts down soon after. In windows when I log on it says that my Mac hdd is corrupted. Mount anyway or cancel.
Anyway my question is can I reformat my Mac hdd and reinstall SL without interfering with my windows partition (boot camp)

Use the Archive and Install, Mac OS X: About the Archive and Install feature, option to reinstall SL. This saves your Home folder. Also it saves your old Home/Library folder in a "Previous System" folder in case there are any preferences or support files of applications that require activation codes or S/Ns.
Repair disk permissions after the reinstall. Then apply the latest SL updater and repair permissions again.
After you're satisfied all is well you can delete that previous folder.
