Unable to open bpm task in uwl

Hi experts,
I am getting below error to open BPM task -
Unable to open the task xxxxxxxxxxxxx because of technical issues. Contact your system administrator for more details.
Error getting suddenly and log message is - I/O problem occurred when executing Archiving Command indexdescribe.
Please clarify dependency here- If I deployed DC on server with some changes, and tried to open old task which is in NEW status, what would be the chances to get error.
I believe there is no dependency, please correct me and advice how to fix above error.
Thanks in advance.
Ian

Hi all,
I am sorry to delay in reply, I went on vaction.
Still issue persists, and observed issue seems not deploying new version of BPM DC.
As per my application, once user submits WebDynpro application, UWL task will trigger. If I open the task no error coming out, otherwise If I opened the task after few hours I am getting error.
So far I thought issue with new version of BPM DC, but issue now seems in different way.

    SSO logon not possible; invalid host name for issuing cookie
    You can do this
    (1) Set the security trace level in the ticket accepting system
    ======================================================
    1. Call transaction SM50 (process list):
    2. Process -> Trace -> Reset -> Workprocess Files
    3. Key combination: F5 (select all), CTRL-Shift-F7 => Dialog box;
    4. Set trace level=3 and ONLY(!) check the "Security" component;
      If necessary, you must repeat these steps for each server (see
      transaction SM51), unless you can use a specific server for
      reproducing the error (for example, by excluding the load
      distribution).
    (2) Run the webdiagtool as per example 3.
    (3) While the webdiagtool is running, please reproduce a failed attempt
    to the backend
    (4) When the SSO fails, wait a minute and then press return in the
    diagtool console so that the resulting traces are picked up
    Please check the configuration in portal, use fully qualified domain
    name instead of host name.

  • Handle to a BPM task in UWL

    Hello UWL Experts,
    This is a follow up thread to the question that I have already posted in BPM forum [Handle to a Task in BPM;. The attempt here is to check if this issue could be simply solved in the context of UWL / rather than BPM.
    Here goes the actual problem description.
    1. There is a BPM process which parallely triggers the creation of a task (in UWL ) and creation + sending of a custom email form (HTML form containing the same task data) to a user at the same time.
    2. If the user approves the task from Email (instead of logging into Portal / UWL), how to automatically close the task in UWL.
    On capturing this event can I use any UWL API to close the UWL task? Will a custom UWL connector help in closing this task in UWL.?
    Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    BR,
    Bala

    CE 7.2 provides Adobe forms for this and that would solve the problem. Also, the close task event could be triggered in CE 7.3. But in CE 7.1, there is no solution for this.

  • Unable to open BPM Processes in Jdev post 11,1.1.5 patch BPM PS4 FP

    Hi All ,
    We applied the BPM FP PS4 patch on top of our Jdev 11.1.1.5 installation as per the instructions here -
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/documentation/readme-bpm-488324.txt
    But after that we are not open to see the BPM Process in Jdeveloper at all , something which was working fine before we installed the patch.
    Has anyone faced this issue before or knows what should be done please ?

    Hi
    1. After applying FP to JDeveloper, we did not face any issues. We could still open our old processes, business rules etc everything from BPM Project Navigator tab.
    2. So I guess you applied both the below patches to the JDev. In JDev, select your workflow project -> Right click -> Project Properties. In this select Libraries and Classpath and make sure all the modules are in proper and none of them are like in Red Color. Red color means that module location is not found like that.
    soa-jdev-extension.zip - Oracle JDeveloper Extension for SOA
    bpm-jdev-extension.zip - Oracle JDeveloper Extension for BPM
    3. One quick test, create a new test bpm app with one bpm project with all defaults. Then open this newly created bpm process. This wil make sure if your JDev and the new patch is applied correctly or not. Acutally after applying FP, when you open process in the central window on top you will see a new Row with new compoments like Activity, Mail etc on top left corner.
    4. If newly created one works, then check your old project and its properties like that.
    5. Finally, when you try to open it, and if it fails, it should show some error message in the bottom status window. Look what it says.
    We have not faced any issues like this after upgrading to FP.
    Thanks

  • Unable to print BPM task

    Hi
    We are using CE 7.2 version to build a BPM application.
    There is a Webdynpro JAVA UI in which we used
    WDPrintservice.getprintservice.print(wdcontrollerAPI)
    to print a prt of the page. which works fine as a standalone application.
    However when used as a task in the BPM flow and tried to print it says "Print is not supported on this client"
    Is any configuration required on CE server to print.
    Please suggest.

    now we have resolved this issue

    Hi Covaikumar,
    The issue may occur because the Script Task is not installed properly. Please check whether the Microsoft.SqlServer.ScriptTask.dll file exists in the following folders (supposing it is a 64-bit platform):
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Tasks
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Tasks

    If the Microsoft.SqlServer.ScriptTask.dll file is missing in any of the folders, copy one (from the other folders or a different working SSIS server) to the folder. Alternatively, you can also use the command line tool gacutil.exe to install the task assembly

  • You are not authorized[...] while completing bpm task.

    Hello community,
    i am facing a strange problem while completing bpm tasks. System is 7.3.1 SP5. User opens bpm task out of UWL or directly via link out of a email. The task UI is a WD4J component. Claiming works fine, UI is shown and user can work with it but on completion, an exception occours and the task does not complete and stays in the UEL. All the WD4J logic on completion is executed correctly before the exception occours. This only happens in about 1 out of 100 cases and i can not recreate it on purpose. Anyway this is very very annoying in the productiv system since the user thinks the task is completed correctly and clicks it away. By the way, the user ofcourse is authorized via relevant bpm roles and can complete other tasks as well.
    Here a part of the stacktrace:
    Thanks for your help.
    BR Tobias.

    Hi Tobias,
      the task was opening successful and the WD was working fine. But the triggering of the completion event was not possible.
      It was fixed with patches as described in note 1811953 - Direct link to task execution UI does not work for CHIP UI

  • Unable to add visual composer UI to a BPM task in CE 7.2.

    Hello
    I am using CE 7.2 trial version. I am not able to add a visual composer UI component to a task (BPM task). Can any body explain how to do?
    I have created the visual composer component and deployed in the server. It is working fine independently.
    Created the Process dc and added the VC DC in the public part.
    Created the task and selected Unified UI import wizard, and selected UI technology as visual composer, but it is not listing any ui components.
    Can anybody suggest the correct method to do.
    Thanks and regards
    Sajith P

    Hi Sajith,
    I can assume that you are using the start event either to initialise some values in your VC or
    maybe you are using the start event with all bank values just as a pre-requisite to integrate BPM with VC.
    The end event will expect a return value at the end of the VC activity. Since you are using a BPM the VC application will be displayed in the Task of the user's UWL. How do you manage the response of the end event here?
    I think you are using the response of end activity to go ahead with your BPM process. Please confirm and share your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Pritish

    When the UWL connector is defined, you define ITS and/or WAS to launch back-end task handlers. The decision of which is selected, is defined in SWFVISU, where you select Web Dynpro JAVA - in my case. (please do correct me if i'm wrong)
    Then I dont understand why it tries to use ITS?
    Regards
    Lasse

    Part of the issue was that the XML was not generated automatically - the solution for this was due to a change in SP18.
    See this post for the solution: SWFVISU task not appearing in any of the UWL Config files

  • UWL configuration on EP Server to show BPM Tasks

    Hello Experts,
    I have implemented a federated network between 2 portal systems; EP portal as a consumer and BPM server as a provider.
    I can not list BPM tasks on EP Worklist but if a grant a BPM's core role to user i am able to use BPM Tasks and use them on a different UWL,
    So basicly, the user (user_a) has the following roles;
    (This role comes from BPM Server with FPN)
    NAME             = pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.bpem/com.sap.bpem.roles/com.sap.bpem.Enduser
    DESCRIPTION = BPEM End User
    SOURCE         = pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_core_role
    (Standart User role on EP Portal)
    NAME             = pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_core_role
    DESCRIPTION = Every User Core Role
    SOURCE        = Portal Role
    (This role comes from BPM Server with FPN)
    NAME             = pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/eu_core_role
    DESCRIPTION = Every User Core Role
    SOURCE         = BPM_AND_EP_PORTALS
    And I see two UWL's, one shows tasks within EP the other one shows BPM Tasks from BPM,
    How can i merge these two ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Yasin

    hi Dave,
    cpl of questions are you on a federated network or are you using any proxy to access the portal? usually it will be slightly delayed some times based on the proxy cache. how are you adding the reports to role through delta link or copy?
    When using the portal cache, data updates can appear with a delay.
    pls go through the following link it may help you.

  • UWL opening wrong tasks

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm having some problems with universal worklist.  The first problem I have is that some users are selecting Guided Procedures tasks but the new window displays a different task from the one selected (different Ids).
    The second problem I'm having is duplicate tasks in uwl.
    Can this problems be related to cache or portal performance?
    Thanks for your time and help

    Hi Pavan,
    thnaks for your answer. First i habe a question, what is FM?
    Here are more precise informationen regarding to my problem:
    The item in the UWL, created by the 3rd party app, is in the UWL with status new. I open the item from the UWL with the complete button. It appears in the 3rd party app. I wrote a ItemActionHandler. By opening the item the Status changes to Inprogress, because the action MARK_AS_READ is handled.
    The Action Complete is also handled, but it's never called. What i have to do in the UWL to get this Action?
    public ProviderStatus performAction(UWLContext context,
                                                      Item item,
                                                      Action action,
                                                      java.util.Map properties)
                                                      throws ConnectorException {
              String actionName = action.getName();
              item.setDescription("Action: " + actionName);
              if(Action.MARK_AS_READ.equals(actionName)){
                   // set Status
                   item.setStatus(StatusEnum.INPROGRESS);
              else if (Action.COMPLETE.equals(actionName)) {
                   //setStatus
                   item.setStatus(StatusEnum.COMPLETED);
              try {
                   pushChannel.updateItem(connector, context, item);
              } catch (UWLException e) {
                   // TODO Auto-generated catch block
                   e.printStackTrace();
              ProviderStatus  status = new ProviderStatus(true, null, Action.PROVIDER_ACTION_HANDLER);;
              return status;
    Thanks,
    René
