Unable to preview webpages on local host

This post is a followup to http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1491305, which until now has not been resolved.
I use Text Wrangler to code web pages in html with php includes. Files are saved as UTF-8 (No BOM), with .php extension. I am able to preview these files using Firefox 3.5.8 (not 3.6) and Opera 9.63. BUT NOT IN SAFARI. Safari only opens to a view of the source code.
Please note, I have PHP enabled on my computer, and websharing is enabled, but this seems to have nothing to do with it. The website files on my computer are anyway not kept in the Sites folder, because I am not hosting them on my computer. I merely want to preview them before uploading to the webhost server.
Is there some way to modify Safari's pref settings (like with Firefox using about:config) to allow preview of the web page?
Or how can I submit a request to Apple to fix this?

Local host

I am having a tough time getting the local host to work.
I am using dw 8.0
firefox 2.0 is my primary
IE 7.0 is secondary.
everytime I attempt it I get a connect error.
it has
http://localhost/sitename.com/TMP8vew5uykvv.php
the .php name is not correct. it is a different folder name.
I am not sure I have it set up correctly under manage sites.

When you elect to preview using temp files, several things
happen BEFORE DW
hands the file to the browser. DW builds a temporary file in
which -
1. The content of all include files or externally linked
files in included
in the markup.
2. All root relative links are changed to absolute file links
so that they
will work in the page being previewed, for example, this -
<img src="/images/whatever.jpg"...
would be changed to this -
<img src=''file:///c:/.../images/whatever.jpg''...
(where the "..." represents the absolute path to that images
folder on YOUR
hard drive)
3. The filename for the temp file is a temporary filename
That is the file that is given to the browser to preview.
Your problem has nothing to do with those transitions.

Error 1030723 Unable to get UTF-8 locale when using Essbase API 11.1.1

Now I got a question about how to connect to an Essbase Server by using essbase client API (11.1.1). I encountered an error “Unable to get UTF-8 locale” when I tried to EssInit((pInitStruct, phInstance) API.
However, I had no problem to call the API if I uses essbase previous client APIs (7.1 or 9.3).
I passed the “ESS_API_UTF8” to usApiType field in the ESS_INIT_T struct. When I openned the “essapi.h” header file, I found these are some new fields (highlighted in red color below) added in the essbase client API (11.1.1)

I could not find any document to introduce the API (11.1.1. And what does the error “Unable to get UTF-8 locale” mean? How can work around it. Any environment parameters or paths need to be set?

Cisco ASA 5505 Cannot ping local traffic and local hosts cannot get out

I have, what I believe to be, a simple issue - I must be missing something.
Site to Site VPN with Cisco ASA's. VPN is up, and remote hosts can ping the inside int of ASA (10.51.253.209).
There is a PC (10.51.253.210) plugged into e0/1.
I know the PC is configured correctly with Windows firewall tuned off.
The PC cannot get to the ouside world, and the ASA cannot ping 10.51.253.210.
I have seen this before, and I deleted VLAN 1, recreated it, and I could ping the local host without issue.
Basically, the VPN is up and running but PC 10.51.253.210 cannot get out.

Hi Martin,
Which way you are trying. Sending traffic via site to site is not working or traffic which you generate to outside world is not working?
But you say ASA connected interface to PC itself is not pinging that is strange. But try setting up the specific rules for the outgoing connection and check. Instead of not having any ACL.
If it is outside world the you may need to check on the NAT rules which is not correct.
If it is site to site then you may need to check few other things.

But we have another test instance this also has the same version , the scenario works fine

In the Sharepoint Search Service I get tose error "MAPI: Logon failed. " in the log and "Unable to load stemmer for locale 1033. Error code 80040111." in ULS.
The error code 80040111 is well a relation with Mapi but what about stemmer???

For your issue, check your current language settings and ensure that search supports the current language.
On the SharePoint Server open Registry Editor (Start -> type “Regedit” and hit enter).
Point to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OfficeServer\14.0\Search\Setup\ContentIndexCommon\LanguageResources\Default\English
Under the registry key for each of the languages there is a value called StemmerDLLPath and WBDLLPathOverride
Updated the registry entry with NATURA~1.dll to NATURA~2.dll
Point to Start -> Administrative Tools -> Services, right click on SharePoint Server Search 14 and click on Restart.
Performed a Full Crawl and wait for the Full Crawl to complete and try searching again.

Additional the SQL Server Management Studio is unable to logon to the Server:

The local Admin Password was reset to the "original" (after install) one.
Any ideas how to fix the problem?

Dear all,
the encryption was NO on all protocols.
Because no additional ideas available, i uninstalled the SQL Server on friday.
At the Re-Install Process i got again an error:
[Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Shared Memory Provider: No process is on the
other end of the pipe .
The install process failed.

During the installation process of SQL Server 2005, Setup complains it cannot
connect to the database service for server configuration. The error was:
[Microsoft][SQL Native Client]Shared Memory Provider: No process is on the
other end of the pipe .
I have checked that the pipe exists (\\.\pipe\SQLLocal\MyInstance), but
everytime the installer attempts the connecting the pipe is closed by the
server and another is reopened. That's why the Client says there is no
process on the other end of the pipe.
I have re-installed 'everything', tried connections via TCP, but nothing
works.
I have made a small application to connect to the pipe and noticed that
there are 3 instances of the pipe running, one that I am connecting to, and 2
listening pipes. If I write to 'my' pipe SQL server disconnects the pipe and
reopens another too. The difference is that SQL server writes an error
message in the log file. No such luck when the Native client is doing the
same.
What more can I do?

I finaly found the problem to be the certificate used.
I noticed that a certificate was added to the machinekeys just recently.
(in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys)
I renamed it to another name and re-installed sql server.
I noticed that sql server ERRORLOG complained about certificate that it
couldn't load and the generation of a self-generaed certificate (see below)
"2005-12-10 21:01:02.30 Server The server could not load the
certificate it needs to initiate an SSL connection. It returned the following
error: 0x8009030d. Check certificates to make sure they are valid.
2005-12-10 21:01:02.49 Server A self-generated certificate was
successfully loaded for encryption."
Now the installation succeeded

With Windows 2008 it was really a challange to get access to this folder (!!!)
After clearing the folder the ReInstall of SQL Server works fine.
Now the SQL Server & the SQL Server Agent works again.
The problem was anything with encryption, old certs & files.
I don't think that everyone can afford reinstalling SQL server.
I finaly found the problem to be the certificate used.

Unsolved Problem:I need to be able to broadcast from CamTwist as CamTwist is the only program that will allow me to do what I need to do. Justin.tv and Ustream.tv do not recognize CamTwist for reasons I can not explain.

I am trying to get a working system at home. Obviously I cannot use a dialup
dynamic IP address, but is there a way to enable iAS 6.0 SP3 to use the
local host address of 127.0.0.1?
kas.exe complains 'value of admin host in registry is invalid (localhost IP
is not acceptable)'. I am running Windows 2000 and I do have a network card
that I sporadically use to connect a laptop. It appears that with Windows
2000, I can not use my Ethernet cards PI address unless I actually have it
connected to a network.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

How to set up a JSP local host server?

I am trying to set up a local host JSP server, do you know any good youtube or tutorials in general that would help me set up a local host JSP server? Or could you post the steps here and your source (if any).

You need a Java web container to run JSP/Servlets. A commonly used one is Apache Tomcat. It is not the same as Apache HTTP Server which can only serve static files.
You can find Tomcat here: [http://tomcat.apache.org].
How to install/use it, just check the User Guide: [http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/index.html].

Error on invoking a webservice by giving ip address instead of local host

Hi,
I created a web service through jdeveloper and tried accessing the webservice generated WSDl file by giving ip address of my machine , but it throws me an error stating IE cannot display the web page . The same web service is running fine when giving local host on the Web service URL .

Hi,
your WebLogic server is not setup to listen for the IP address. You can change this in the WLS console for the server configuration. Note that when you install WLS and don't define any hostname then it will listen to all addresses (which also is the default for the integrated WLS)
