Unable to print via Airprint and Wireless - Print utility (wireless) is working fine

Hi,
I have a Photosmart 310a (Device model number: CN503B). I am not able to print wirelessly or via Airprint from the iPhone or from the Mac. But the Printer Utility (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2) can connect to the printer (wirelessly) and show infos and prints test pages.
I have restarted the printer, checked that the networksettings are correct. Is there anything else to try?
Thanks.

Hi Nic0linux,
Try unplugging the printer for about a minute. Make sure the iPhone is also connected to the same wifi network as the printer. Also, try checking for product updates on the printer. Go to "setup" > 'web menu' > "product updates" > "check for product updates". If there is an update available then allow it to install. The printer will then reboot itself after it installs the update. Try AirPrint again. If that still does not work, try unplugging the printer, router, and power cycle the iPhone. When you power everything back on, you want to let the router get booted back up completely first, then the printer (make sure that the printer is still connected to your wifi), then the iPhone. Then try to AirPrint again. I hope some of this information helps. If you still need further assistance, please don't hesitate to call us at 1-800-474-6836 and ask to speak to Cloud Services.

  • I am trying to configure an iPad to print via Airprint to a HP Laserjet Pro CP1225mw printer and are having problems

Currently I am able to print to the printer via Airprint but because the iPad has a priority of Wi-Fi over 3G, when I want to browse the Internet at the same time via the iPad's 3G connection it will not which makes it hard to print pages from websites. I have the option of adding the printer to the internal wireless network for the organization but I am trying to avoid it as iOS-based devices get constantly prompted for username and password when trying to authenticate HTTPS connections and this may prove an irritation for the user that is going to get this printer. Also I want to restrict who can access this printer as it is mean for use for one specific person in the organization.

Some printers support adhoc networks.  This would keep it off your corporate net.  Of course, I haven't tried this.
    For example HP D110.

I don't know if this will help  you or not but could be worth looking into.

  • Print via Airprint with iPad 3 and Canon MG5350

    Hi,
I have a very common problem but none of the so far provided answers were suitable to help me. I use a new Canon MG5350 printer with WLAN and Airprint. The firmware has been updated to version 2 and nevertheless I cannot print via Airprint from my iPad 3 WiFi. My iPhone 4 finds the Canon printer without problems but the iPad keeps saying "No Airprint printers found".
Who can help? As I said, I have updated the printer's firmware.
    Cheers
    Frank

Hi Frank, I too have an MG5350 and ipad3 over wireless LAN. Printer is ace when used from my PC and laptop but got the same as you did trying to print from ipad. Tried Canon UK support but useless would be a compliment. Apple support in Cork suggested going to ipad settings, switch to airplane mode which stops wifi and then switch back again, wifi reconnnects and when I try and print, it finds the MG5350 and prints! Only one problem, leave it and come back after half hour and its back to "no airprint printers found" Doing the wifi on /off trick works everytime but have no answer as to why it is dropping it but still searching.
    Hope this helps a bit.

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

I've heard of airprint, but what is eprint?
have you looked into getting an airport express? http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/
and I'm using this to airprint from my iphone to it: http://netputing.com/airprintactivator/airprint-activator-v2-0/
(I'm using version 2.1b2 on Lion).
This would open your selection up a lot more depending on what you're trying to do.

  • I want to be able to print via AirPrint, but I also be able to print my emails,

I want to be able to print via AirPrint, any Ideas on any good app for it.

Do you have an AirPrint compatible printer. See this listing http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356.
If not, then you could search the App Store for printing apps. They will probably not refer to it as AirPrint.

Hi, ok so at my old job i got given a laptop and i synced my iPhone to that laptop using iCloud, now i have left that job and i have bought my own macbook. I just linked my iPhone to my new macbook via iCloud and now pictures from my old work colleges that are obviously using that laptop have popped up on my new laptop, does that mean all my pictures in the last 3 months have been loa
ding onto that old work laptop as well as my new one??!!! if so how do i delete my pictures from the past 3 months off that old work macbook? HELP!!

If they are photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll, then delete them from photo stream.  That will delete them from photo stream in iCloud and on any other devices/computers.  Of couse it won't delete them if they have already been moved out of the photo stream album download folder on the work computer.
Then change your iCloud password so the old work computer no longer has access to your iCloud data or photo stream.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

Perhaps you should ask over in the iPad community, you may get better answers there.
It's actually my fault that psoon ended up here ... s/he intially posted over at Home Sharing, and I tried a relocate request to Apple TV rather than iPad.

Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take all the applicable steps in this support article.
    Step 2
If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it.
    Step 4
This step will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Make a note of them before you begin, and recreate them afterwards. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the preference pane.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "SystemConfiguration" selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator password.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 6
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional — ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

I have a 500GB external hard drive and only 120GB Macbook. It worked fine before the latest Maverick's update. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess would be it has created an entirely new backup of your drive when you upgraded to Mavericks.
