Regarding the USB, see if zapping the PRAM helps.

whn plugged in to your imac >> when you go to itunes >> click on the iphone on left in navigation pane >> go to photos tab, is the check box checked to sync your photos?

Basically I can't find my phone and JUST remembered that the find my phone app existed. I'm almost positive I have icloud set up on my phone, but is it possible to find it from my mac even though I technically didn't have the "find my phone" app downloaded on my phone? Or can I even just find it using the devices under my Apple ID account?

You can track your phone if the Find my iPhone app was not installed. That app only allows you to track all your devices, but what really minds is that the Find my iPhone service was activated in Settings > iCloud. If so, you can track your device.
To track your iPhone, open http://www.icloud.com, log in with your Apple ID and choose Find my iPhone. You will be able to track your iPhone if Find my iPhone was activated. If not, you cannot enable Find my iPhone if you do not have the phone.

My iPhone won't sync the recent music that I've bought onto my iTunes Library on the computer. How do I get my music to finally sync?

I've tried to sync my iPhone 3 to my MacBook Pro for a little while now. It has never synced my music from my iPhone onto my music library that is on my computer. I have 427 songs on my iPhone and only 237 of those songs are downloaded on my computer. The music tab to my iPhone on my computer doesn't have a check mark next to it. Every time I press it, it says that all of the existing songs on my music library will replace all of the songs on my phone.
I have also realized that it only downloaded 10 of the 379 photos on my iPhone onto my Mac.
This syncing problem has been really annoying me and please help me so I can fix this problem. Thanks.

You need to ask the people who sold it to you. Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Reader.
However, you should be wary of devices that automatically try to open files when plugged in. They can also infect your computers with all kinds of viruses or malware.

My iPhone will sync all other details but it will NOT sync the Calendar with Outlook - this just began this week - driving me insane - I need to have the Calendar on the iPhone working 2 way with Outlook so tha I can print off my Calendar for end of year review. Nothing I do will make them cross sync. I have also installed the iCloud but even this will not sync the Calendar on the iPhone with Outlook - frustrated - Mayo Ireland

Try going into settings - mail - outlook account - then uncheck the sync for calendar - then sync it back and see if that resolves the issue.

I think you may not using the right technical terms. When backing up to icloud, there is no way you'd get a message saying things will be wiped. This message may be displayed when you are performing a RESTORE from a backup and then trying to cancel it.
If you are doing a restore, then you can reboot and restore again.

Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

Have you already verified your "new" email address? If not then please check your inbox for a confirmation email (also the junk folder). If you do not have a confirmation email then please sign in at https://appleid.apple.com and press "verify" for confirming your email address.

If your contacts aren't on icloud.com when you check from your computer, and they aren't on your phone, you'll have to try restoring your last backup (or recover them from another backup source).
