Unable to Query Table

Hi Folks,
I'm stuck in weird situation. User complaints fetching data from table A is timing-out ( as per application standards). I decided to collect latest statistics(dbms_stats) on index used by query which is running for more than 12 hours. Ideally which should not.It is partition table and got close to 10 millions records.
1) I checked dba_waiters - no rows
2) I checked v$locked_object/v$locks - no rows
3) I'm unable to run explain-plan for any criteria on that table
4) I'm unable to open table data-tab in Toad/ Sql developer.
5) I'm unable to query a single partition; no error but it keeps on running.
SQL> SELECT * FROM SSAM_TRANS_FACT PARTITION (P20101010S01);

Again, anything in alert.log? Any trace files? What happens if you issue:
select 1 from ssam_trans_fact where rownum = 1;What happens when you issue:
select 1 from ssam_trans_fact partition(P20101010S01) where rownum = 1;SY.

  • Frm- 40505 Unable to query (table does not exist)

    Hey,
I have a form which has two blocks that are master and detail blocks. On the form, there are 3 fields that allow the query. If there is record found in the master then it works fine. If nothing found, it shows "query causes no records" which is also fine. But afterwards, no matter what I type in to query, it always show frm-40505. Oracle error, unable to perform query. I click "display error", it shows:
    SELECT ROWID,LOC,INV_NUMBER,RECNO,FACTOR,C_DESC,ADJ_TYPE,CODE,AMT FROM OE_INVOICE_ADJ
WHERE (LOC=:1) and (INV_NUMBER=:2) order by recno
frm - 09402:Table or view does not exist.
Here oe_invoice_adj is the detail table and it does exist. If I stop the form and run it again then it's fine. It only happens after "query causes no records".
Any ideas? thanks a lot in advance.

Jay, Have you created public synonym for the tables so that the users don't have to refer the tables with the schema scott.xtable...
and have the users been given the SELECT privilege to those tables....
    mb
I actually created the tables and views for my application by logging in as scott/tiger.Now the users I have created with due privileges are just able to log in but unable to perform any query or DML.The error message is FRM 40505'UNABLE TO PERFORM QUERY' which says table or view does not exist. How do I fix this problem?
    Please get me a solution
    Thanks

  • Unable to Query Table Created Via Load/Unload Utility

I just created a table by doing a data load of an tab-delimited file via the Load/Upload Utility. The table was successfully created, and I can view it on the Object Browser, but I cannot do SQL queries on it, either via SQL*Plus or via the SQL Commands page. What's going on?

I got no error message at all from Firefox when I did the data Load, so it took me
a while to suspect that the browser compatibility was at fault. Moreover, you posted in your first post in this thread that you saw table in Object Browser!
Sounds as APEX bug to me...

  • Unable to view table list in sql developer

I am able to connect to the database through sql developer but unable to view tables list.
Select query is displaying the contents though.
    Any Help ???

Using SQL Developer, I log in using the owner user id and password. I can see all but one of my materialized views. It was definitely created by the user id I'm logged in as. A query of user_objects in sql+ shows all MVs, including the one that's missing in SQL Developer. If I log in using the same credentials in TOAD, the MV is displayed in the current schema, as I'd expect. The super weird thing is that if I use the previous version of SQL Developer, I see that MV! Any thoughts?

how to change NCHAR set for import.
    Thanks

    Hello,
which & how i can set character set for import.About the Character Set, it's a setting at the Database creation. You may check it by using the following query on the Source and Target Databases:
select * from v$nls_parameters; The NLS_CHARACTERSET will give you the Character set of the Database.
It cannot be changed easily. It may imply a Database creation and export/import of data ( see Note *225912.1* ).
Else, when you export (with the Original Export/Import utility) it's recommended to set the NLS_LANG parameter.
The NLS_LANG parameter has 3 components:
    - Language
    - Territory
    - Client Character Set
A wrong setting of the NLS_LANG may lead to conversion. However starting with *9i* most data is exported with the Character Set of the Database regardless the NLS_LANG setting. The following note may give you some details about it:
Export/Import and NLS Considerations [ID 15095.1]Hope this help.

    Hello everybody,
I try to explain the problem I had, because I still didn't understand real causes.
Everything started when I got this error:

    I'm using ASM.

    So, my question is:
    Why did it happen?
Why the table was unable to allocate the space? From what I can see the space was there.
I alstro tried an ALTER TABLESPACE USER COALESCE, but with no luck.
To solve the problem, I had to create another tablespace and put there the T_EVENT_DATA table.
Looking forward to read some answer,
    thanks in advance!

    There can be two reasons:
1.) Datafile is unable to extend as the auto-extend is set to NO.
2.) Datafile reached to the MAXSIZE provided at the datafile creation.
Query dba_data_files view and confirm this.
    Regards.

    Hello,
    You wrote:
Can i delete some rows to release the space from the SYS.WRH$_ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY table? To purge the Table SYS.WRH$_ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY, you may first query the Snapshot History
    with the query below:
select snap_id, begin_interval_time from sys.dba_hist_snapshot order by snap_id;Then, you choose the range of snapshot you want to delete, and you execute the following Procedure:
exec dbms_workload_repository.drop_snapshot_range ( low_snap_id => snap_id_1, high_snap_id=> snap_id_2 );But, if the delete will free space inside the Table, it won't release space to the SYSAUX Tablespace.
    You wrote:
For system tablespace can i add or resize the datafile if it needs?Yes as any Tablespace. But your error message was on the Tablespace SYSAUX. So this is the reason why it

  • ORA-01653: unable to extend table SYS.ARGUMENT$ by 13 in tablespace SYSTEM

I have created new database manually.
when I am @?/rdbms/admin/catproc.sql putting this sql to run.
for sometime it says created, granted. but after some part it give me the error.
ORA-01653: unable to extend table SYS.ARGUMENT$ by 13 in tablespace SYSTEM
    Please help me on this.
    Thank you in advance.

Your query does not provide SYSTEM tablespace size. It provides list of tablespaces. And it can't be a complete list since I do not see UNDO and TEMP tablespaces. In any case, based on the output you did not create any user tablespaces, so all tables you are creating went to SYSTEM tablespace and eventually you ran out of space. You need to create user tablespaces if you do not have any. You need to change non-system users and set default tablespace to non-system tablespaces. Even if you do have non-system tablespaces, tables will be created in user default tablespace unless you explicitly specify one. You need to move existing user tables/indexes to non-system tablespaces.
    SY.
P.S. In order to get SYSTEM tablespace size you need to run:
    select sum(bytes)/1024/1024 tablespace_size_in_mb
    from dba_data_files
    where tablespace_name = 'SYSTEM';

  • Unable to view table list

I am able to connect to the database through sql developer but unable to view tables list.

    Any Help ???

I am on Windows XP using SQLDeveloper Build 5440 and I am having a similar problem (I think).
I am able to connect to the database, I am able to see a list of all the tables (as the owner) in the tree but i can not see anything under columns and am shown 5 all null rows under data. I am able to view statistics, DDL and I can query the table with a select and get results. I have tried reverting to an older versin of SQLDeveloper but that gave me the same result.
If this is the same problem then I am having it too. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Selecting from Materialized Query Tables (DB2 UDB database)

When selecting what objects I wish to view in my Reports, I am unable to see any Materialized Query Tables in the list.  I am able to see the "normal" Tables and Views, just not any Materilized Query Tables.
Please let me know what I need to set or customize in-order to see and then select fields from these.

    Thanks everyone.
I was able to find the answer.
For the new report, in the "Create New Connections"...choose "OLE DB (ADO)" --> then "Microsoft OLE DB Providers for ODBC Drivers"  --> click on the "Next" button --> choose the database --> then user/password details (..and so forth).

I am unable to get the navigation block and the query table side by side when i execute the WAD .Is it possible to place those 2 objects next to each other in the WAD output. In the WAD design those 2 are placed side by side.
    Regards,Pra

    I meant Html Table:
In WAD in menu you can choose Insert -> Table -> Insert Table
You need 1 row, 2 columns. In one of the column you should put navigation block and in the other table.

  • Cannot query tables in remote database

Hi, I have looked around for similar topics but have not found anything that would be close to my problem. I created a public link to a remote database from my portal database, it is a public link and I can query tables in the remote database just fine when I am on the sqlplus prompt. When I try to create a report, or a dynamic page, it lets me go through the wizard steps ok, however when I run it as a portlet or just run it as a report/page it does not seem to be able to see the query. Below is the response I get from running it as a portal. I am logged in as portal30.

Please help, I have tried everything from public to private synonyms for the linked tables and it just does not work. I am using the most recent version of portal that came with ias 1.0.2.2.0

Actually I solved my problem, it looks like I should have used the db link utility with the portal, I linked the databases on the sqlplus command line and it seems like that was the issue.

Find the tablespace where APPLSYS.FND_ENV_CONTEXT and see if you can add space to it.
