Unable to receive emails help needed
for some reason after the last update (today) I don't seem to be receiving any emails. I forgot a password and requested a reset via email but did't receive it. Then I sent myself a message and didn't receive that either. Any help?

Unable to receive emails from specific domains
Hi,
One user in our company is trying to send email in different domain but
recipient is unable to receive email from our side. Below mentioned is the NDR report:
[email protected]
The recipient's e-mail system isn't accepting messages now. Please try resending this message later or contact the recipient directly.

Kindly guide me how i can diagnose that there is no problem at our side because all other users are sending emails in different domain without any problem.

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, thankfully I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Please help. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-
http://www.ecu.edu/cs-itcs/mac/Apple-Mail-Out-of-Office-Replies.cfm
I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails. Thank youYou can set it easily...
To access this feature in Apple's Mail app, right click on any sub-folder (like your exchange inbox on the left) and choose "Get Account Info." A window will pop up that looks like the one below. Make sure to select your Exchange account from the Account dropdown. Then click on the Out Of Office tab. If you have ever put in an Out of Office message in the past it will be displayed here. You can adjust and set your Out of Office from Apple Mail from within this tab.

Unable to receive email from in iMail
My icloud email account is offline. I am unable to send and receive emails ...
I am using the correct icloud user and password. I am able to log in and use my email from the iCloud site (www.icloud.com)
But not getting email in iMail.
I opened System Preferences and went to Mail and in accounts it ays: The “Incoming Mail Server” field cannot be empty.
However, there is mail.icloud.com typed in except I cannot change it because it is grayed out.
Also I went to the "Mail Connection Doctor" inside iCloud.
There I have two messages. The first one says "Mail was able to connect to the internet."
Below that is another message: next to MobileMe IMAP... it says:Could not connect to this MobileMe IMAP server.
Check your network connection and that you have entered the correct information in the Account Preferences. Also verify
that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the SSL checkmark in the Advanced tab of Account Preferences.
All the network connection information is correct. I am able to connect to the internet. I don't know if the server supports SSL.
But the box is checked and the IMAP Path Prefix box is empty. Port is 993.
Can someone please help figure out why I am not getting my icloud email and how to fix it.
thanks!!Never Mind!
Problem went away after I restarted the computer -

Unable to receive email in HTML format on BB Torch 9860 with BIS
I recently purchased BB Torch 9860 with OS 7 and configured by personal and work email on BIS. I am receiving emails only in text format. In some emails with images that have hyperlink, I just see a link and images not displayed. All the images comes as an attachment in the email. My friend having another BB Torch is able to view emails as HTML. But he is with BES.
Is there any solution for my issue? I am not receiving any options in the email preference to enable HTML format for emails.
Appreciate if anyone could help me with this.

Unable to receive emails on third party account
Hi
I have several email accounts all at the same domain. They have worked flawlessly for 2 years until today,
I am no longer able to receive mail on these accounts using BT Broadband however when I switch to my mobile broadband I am able to receive my mail as usual.
I contacted BT who remotely changed my Send details even though sending mail was working fine till the changes. I have returned the Send settings back to where they were.
Please does anyone have an idea what could be wrong.
Many thanksHi
No my email is with daily.co.uk and my mobile bb is TMobile.
I have reset all my settings and can send/receive using TMobile. I can send using mail.daily.co.uk but am unable to receive when using BT BB.

I run two accounts on my Mail program, one of which is the .Mac, and the other is Optimum Online. On Mail, the Optimum account, which is my primary email address, is not receiving any emails. I don't think the problem lies with the Optimum account, as I checked my mail directly through its website (optonline.net), and it is properly receiving emails. Also, my .Mac account still receives emails normally through Mail. I have checked and the Optimum acount is not disabled or offline, so I do not know what the problem is. When I Get Mail, it searches for about 2 minutes and then shows no new mail from my Optimum Online account. What could this problem with Mail be?
For POP accounts, Mail uses a file within the account folder to keep track of which messages have already been downloaded. Deleting that file causes Mail to treat everything still on the server as if new and try to download it again, so this is something to try:
1. Quit Mail.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/.
3. Locate one or two files named MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded and move them to the Trash. Mail 1.x used MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded to keep track of which messages had already been downloaded. Mail 2.x uses MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 for the same purpose.
You can use the Account Info window first to remove from the server any messages you don't want to be downloaded again.
Another thing to try, and that usually works, is removing some messages from the server (download them with another mail client such as Thunderbird first, to avoid losing them). Sometimes, Mail chokes on a message it cannot download, and that prevents Mail from downloading the rest as well.
Actually, if there is a troublesome message on the server that Mail chokes on, you may be able to identify it in the Account Info window. Don't assume that it's junk just because Mail doesn't display it properly in that window, though. Try looking at its contents by other means (e.g. webmail) before removing it from the server.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder. -

Hotmail unable to receive emails
I have spoken with Apple helpdesk and they were unable to resolve the issue.
I am trying to configure Mail.app or Thunderbird to retrieve hotmail.com or live.com emails in Mac OS X 10.6. I have the recommended settings (as listed on hotmail and apple) correct, but receive an error 995 unable to connect to the server. I am able however to send email, but no incoming emails or folders can by synced.
These are the settings I have:
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: [email protected]
Password: ************
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Authentication required?
Yes (matching POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
Looking at all the guides and discussion forums, it should be working.
Please help! After changing hotmail password, I couldn't configure hotmail into iMAC, iPhone and MacbookPro. Then some genius on this forum (how will I ever relocate the person?) said "choose a short password" (mine had been long). It worked. All machines leapt into action. I would like to give a big electronic hug to the people who gave me the idea!

Unable to receive email consistently from AOL
Trying to track down a MAJOR problem, I have a client that I support that runs 10.6 server and it is the mail server etc.. What is occuring is that AOL cannot consistently deliver email to our server... I get various types of messages in mail.log (paste below).. usually Timeout after CONNECT but sometimes Timeout after EHLO.... I have disabled greylisting and increased the default_process_limit to 400 in main.cf
My client is getting VERY angry because a big client of theirs insists on using AOL because that's all he knows.. We are NOT having any issues receiving mail from anyone except AOL.com I have (ugh) created a free AOL.com account and attempted to send messages, getting the same things. Once in awhile they do get through but mostly I get the below.
Appreciate ANY insight...

# with all addresses in the domains that match $relay_domains.
# If this parameter is defined, then the SMTP server will reject
# mail for unknown relay users. This feature is off by default.
# The right-hand side of the lookup tables is conveniently ignored.
# In the left-hand side, specify an @domain.tld wild-card, or specify
# a [email protected] address.

# INPUT RATE CONTROL
# The in_flow_delay configuration parameter implements mail input
# flow control. This feature is turned on by default, although it
# still needs further development (it's disabled on SCO UNIX due
# to an SCO bug).
# A Postfix process will pause for $in_flow_delay seconds before
# accepting a new message, when the message arrival rate exceeds the
# message delivery rate. With the default 100 SMTP server process
# limit, this limits the mail inflow to 100 messages a second more
# than the number of messages delivered per second.
# Specify 0 to disable the feature. Valid delays are 0..10.

# ALIAS DATABASE
# The alias_maps parameter specifies the list of alias databases used
# by the local delivery agent. The default list is system dependent.
# On systems with NIS, the default is to search the local alias
# database, then the NIS alias database. See aliases(5) for syntax
# details.
# If you change the alias database, run "postalias /etc/aliases" (or
# wherever your system stores the mail alias file), or simply run
# "newaliases" to build the necessary DBM or DB file.
