Unable to recognize the server status in OEPE, shows error alert

Hi,
On windows 32 , I installed the WSL 10.3.3 + OEPE and the OSB 11g.
I have configured the a base_domain with a dtabse of 10g (10.3) Express edition.
When I try to start the server from OEPE (Eclipse), the server starts and the console show the server is RUNNING. Even I can connect to OSB Console from Browser.
However, the servers tab in the eclipse unable to recognize the status, and returns back to STOPPED with an Alert message "Server xxxx unable to start.
So I am not able to do anything in the OEPE, its urgent please, any help .
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ravi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Actually the server and domain all are running well. I can start and stop from the startup menus and command scripts.
The only issue is in the Eclipse (OEPE) when I try to connect the server. However I found the solution that I need comment the localhost entry in hosts file as below.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
Now the server is connecting well. However I have another issue, that I am not able to shutdown the server from startup menus. I suspect the t3 protocal and HTTP protocal related. If you have any suggestions please help me.
Note: if still have issues then try by removing the LAN connection, or install the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
But I am still looking for options without commenting the localhost in the hosts entry.

    Hi Mohan,
    I didn't use Fiddler before, I just download and use it but how to see the request message from this software?
    I have logged the request to event log before send to web service and copy this request from event log to testing with soapUI, so I don't think have between the actual messages being sent to your client via orchestration and soapui. In the log Response shape
    I see the fault response in event log.
    You can see
    this link to know how to use fiddler. As I suggested above the error you need to check is at the server side who is hosting the service( your party ) because you are getting fault response properly from them. The webservice you are calling seems to look
    like WCF service too. Your life would have been so easier if you could ask them to have firewall open from your dev box to their dev server so that you can use use "Add Service Reference" wizard, that even they have .NET wcf service too.
    Did you by any chance manage to talk to them what they are getting or if they can increase the exception details in the fault message for you?
    If this answers your question please mark it as Answer and if this post is helpful, please vote as helpful. Thanks !

    If the port is already in use how to find which server is running on that port, how to find the process and kill it. I am using weblogic 8.1 sp4 in Solaris 8.

    Bruce:
    It sounds like (as you already note) failed to shutdown WLS, that is why the
    .loc file was held and why the port is in use, WLS process was still
    running. To see why it failed to shut down, I would examine the
    weblogic.log, aslo the servers std out and err. Additionally taking a
    thread dump (if possible) on the "it wont shut down" wls java process should
    show (maybe unless the VM is hosed), where/what is hanging on/around. Do
    you happen to have native code running with wls, say a type 2 JDBC driver?
    Otherwise it sounds like a VM bug. But more data is needed to be sure.
    Cheers

    I was shutting down the WLS server using the console shutdown and itfailed to shutdown completely. I then attempted to use the kill command on
    the process which usually works. This time I was unable to kill the process
    without using the kill -9 command. When I attempted to bring the server
    back up I got a failure to get a lock on the embedded ldap. I removed the
    .loc file and came further up but was unable to get further than the
    listener ports which were still locked to the old process. Do you know of
    anything I can do the get the WLS server back up without rebooting my
    Solaris server????
    netstat -an shows the port is in use but the only process that is alloweduse that port is WLS.

    First verify that you cannot reach the hostname
    server by using the ping
    utility (Windows NT or Unix). If
    you cannot reach the host, report this problem to the appropriate system
    administrator or help desk.
    <P>
    However, if you can reach the host with ping
    , then the problem may be a minor
    networking issue that you can resolve. There is also the possibility that
    the network has been configured to allow users to ping
    unreachable systems. You can use the
    following actions to rule out possible sources of the problem:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>Attempt to log in to WebMail again. If you can log in successfully, then
    the problem with the WebMail server may have been temporary or is an

    <LI>End the current browser session and then restart the browser and try to

    <LI>Verify the DNS configuration of your system and then restart the entire

    As the problem with connecting to the WebMail server is caused by configuration
    or availability problems, make sure that users who report this problem have
    HTTP network connectivity to the hostname. The following scenarios are
    possible causes of connectivity problems:<BR>
    <P>

    <LI>Users have the wrong proxy.
    <LI>Users are being blocked by firewalls.
    <LI>Users are connecting from the wrong network.
    <LI>Users specify the incorrect DNS servers.

    <P>
    In addition, users may also report that the server is down. As the login page
    for WebMail does not contain URL links that are FQDNs or absolute path names,
    it is possible that users may still be able to see the login window if it was
    cached or loaded before the server stopped working.
    <P>
    In some cases, it may be necessary to access the hostname that is used in the
    WebMail links. This hostname setting is stored in the configdb
    parameter
    service.smtp.messagehostname.
    This configuration setting is not mentioned in the Messaging Server
    documentation.
    <P>
    The messagehostname is a
    configuration value that affects many server functions. For this reason, do
    not make changes to this value without first considering the effects of such a

    Please check the server name and try again.
    <P>
    <B>End User</B>
    <P>
    First verify that you cannot reach the hostname
    server by using the ping
    utility (Windows NT or Unix). If
    you cannot reach the host, report this problem to the appropriate system
    administrator or help desk.
    <P>
    However, if you can reach the host with ping
    , then the problem may be a minor
    networking issue that you can resolve. There is also the possibility that
    the network has been configured to allow users to ping
    unreachable systems. You can use the
    following actions to rule out possible sources of the problem:<BR>
    <P>
    <OL>
    <LI>Attempt to log in to WebMail again. If you can log in successfully, then
    the problem with the WebMail server may have been temporary or is an
    intermittent problem.
    <P>
    <LI>End the current browser session and then restart the browser and try to
    connect to the WebMail server again. If you can log in successfully, then,
    most likely, the browser had cached some old network information that was
    reset when you exited the browser.
    <P>
    <LI>Verify the DNS configuration of your system and then restart the entire
    system.
    </OL>
    <P>
    If the above actions do not work, then you will need to contact the
    system administrator or the help desk.
    <P>
    <B>Mail Server Administrators</B>
    <P>
    As the problem with connecting to the WebMail server is caused by configuration
    or availability problems, make sure that users who report this problem have
    HTTP network connectivity to the hostname. The following scenarios are
    possible causes of connectivity problems:<BR>
    <P>
    <UL>
    <LI>Users have the wrong proxy.
    <LI>Users are being blocked by firewalls.
    <LI>Users are connecting from the wrong network.
    <LI>Users specify the incorrect DNS servers.
    </UL>
    <P>
    In addition, users may also report that the server is down. As the login page
    for WebMail does not contain URL links that are FQDNs or absolute path names,
    it is possible that users may still be able to see the login window if it was
    cached or loaded before the server stopped working.
    <P>
    In some cases, it may be necessary to access the hostname that is used in the
    WebMail links. This hostname setting is stored in the configdb
    parameter
    service.smtp.messagehostname.
    This configuration setting is not mentioned in the Messaging Server
    documentation.
    <P>
    The messagehostname is a
    configuration value that affects many server functions. For this reason, do
    not make changes to this value without first considering the effects of such a
    change on other WebMail settings, such as the postmaster group and user
    mailhost values. Also, please note that changing messagehostname
    is not supported from Console.
    <P>
    For more information on messagehostname
    , please see "What is messagehostname?"
    at<BR>
    article 4250
    <P>
    You can also find documentation for configutil
    in the Messaging Server Administrator's
    Guide at the following URL:<BR>
    <P>
    http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/nms41/ag/cmdline.htm#1003887
    <P>
    <B>Note:</B> You must stop and restart the HTTP service in order for changes to
    the messagehostname to
    take effect.

  • Script for Checking the Server Status

    Hi All,
         I just need the script for monitoring the server status through the WLST.My scenario:I have 2 server in Running State.If any one of the server get failed or in not RUNNING state then i use the script for starting that server automatically.I tried some of the script but it is not working properly .If any one have the sample script please share with me.
    Regards,
    Ove.

    Hi Syed,
    Replication state is very easy to see in 4.x and earlier. The last changenumber in the supplier changelog is visible (on the root DSE IIRC), and each consumer suffix has an operational attribute "copiedfrom" that tells you the name of the supplier, the database generation id, and the last change replayed from the supplier.
    So a script that compares the results of
    ldapsearch -h <supplier> -s base -b "" "objectclass=*" lastchangenumber
    and
    ldapsearch -h <consumer> -s base -b <base_suffix> "objectclass=*" copiedFrom
    will show you if a replica has fallen out of sync. It won't tell you more than how many changes behind the replica is, though, because pre-5.x changenumbers are sequential integers, not timestamps.
    However, the change that corresponds to the changenumber is clearly visible under the "cn=changelog" suffix. So if you look at the change itself you can see the timestamp on it.
    For more info on the status of replication, you should be able to query the agreements on the supplier. Those live under the "Netscape Machine Data Suffix", which you can also find on the supplier's root DSE:
    ldapsearch -h <supplier> -s base -b "" "objectclass=*" netscapemdsuffix
    And of course the error logs will usually tell you if replication is failing outright.
    I may be off on some of the attribute names, but if you do some investigating along these lines, you should be able to figure it out.

  • Browser unable to update the service status bits

    I am having an issue with my computer becoming non-working. After a period of time of inactivity and then I go to use the computer, I can move the mouse cursor around but can do nothing else. I have noticed that when moving the cursor around that when I move it to the task-bar I get the hour glass waiting icon. I checked the event viewer and in the applications log I have numerous errors which say "The browser was unable to update the service status bits" Can you explain this and are there any fixes? Thank you

    Hi Avinash,
    Yes, CTS_BROWSER service is active. It was working before when I click to test. Unfortunately, it started throwing error. We are on SP13 in SOLMAN. I'm using solman as an ABAP stack.

  • Microsoft exchange email worked fine, now iPad does not recognize the server

    exchange was working fine until friday of last week, then it can no loger recognize the server or passwords. i reset it, rebooted, changed the password even. still does not recognize. any help? ideas?

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    In Finder's Menu, select Go menu>Go to Folder, and go to "/volumes". (no quotes)
    Volumes is where an alias to your hard drive ("/" at boot) is placed at startup, and where all the "mount points" for auxiliary drives are created for you to access them. This folder is normally hidden from view.
    Drives with an extra 1 on the end have a side-effect of mounting a drive with the same name as the system already think exists. Try trashing the duplicates with a 1 or 2 if there are no real files in them, and reboot.
    If it does contain data...
