Unable to run app in Restricted access or Available to developers modes.

Hi
We want to run the application in either Restricted access or Available to developers modes. so that we can move the changes from our QA to production and test it. We are trying to login as ADMIN (having Workspace administrators access) user but unable to run the application. getting Access to this application is restricted to application developers, please try again later. and Access to this application is restricted, please try again later errors.
Our apex version:3.0.1.00.08
Changing application def attributes for Restricted access
status = Restricted access
Build status = Run and build application
Restrict to comma separated user list (status must equal Restricted Access) : ADMIN
Changing application def attributes for Available to developers
status = Available to developers
Build status = Run and build application
Restrict to comma separated user list (status must equal Restricted Access) : (leaving blank)
using sso authentication (do not know whether this impacts) for our application.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Ram

Ram,
1) not able change notification, application access restricted, Please try later(any way to put customized notification.?)I don't think so.
2) Edit links are not available (any availability status to have these..?, other than available with edit links)No.
You might want to implement this using authorization schemes. You would need a way to determine what privileges the authenticated user has then you could restrict access to the whole application or to certain pages based on the privilege.

  • Unable to run apps on MacBook Pro won't launch

    Hello,
    Mac OSX v 10.6.8
    processor 2.7 i7
    memory 4 gb
    MY MacBook Pro, 2010 has ground to a halt. I am unable to launch a web browser. I have tried to run disk utility with limited success,  I am not even sure that my hard disk is displaying in disk utility. I do have some external drives which I have connected in the past. I have tried running first aid, but keeping getting the spinning wheel.
    I think that I may be running out of memory, but can't do much to fix it as the spinning wheel of death keeps appearing. I have removed a number of large files from my desk top. I have also tried a reset NVRAM/PRAM.
    I have had issues with my internet dropping a few months ago. As a result I don't have a really recent back-up. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
    thanks.

    First try a safe boot:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
    If no success, take the original installation disk and start up the MBP with the disk in the DVD drive and holding the C key.
    Start the installation sequence and proceed until you see a menu bar on top of the display.
    Click on UTILITIES.
    From the drop down menu select Disk Utility.
    Run Disk Utility>First Aid, Verify and Repait.
    What are the results?
    Ciao.

  • Running App-V 5.0 package in read-only mode.

    Hello.
    I have sequenced Firefox with an older version of Java that is used to run a web application.
    Is there a way to run the package in read-only/sandbox mode, or so that changes done during the session will be discarded as the package is closed?

    Hi,
    not directly: App-V itself doesn't have a 'entirely ready-only' mode.
    There is one setting in the Sequencer to enforce NTFS access permissions inside a package (so that user can/can't write to the virtual C:\Program files or alike). This setting has been intorduced with HF4 for App-V 5 SP2. Before that, the ACLs were enforced.
    However this doesn't help to address your requirement.
    What you could do it to remove user-made changes when the application closes. (so remove the reg values in HKCU, remove modified files in Appdata, Localappdata..), but this isn't easy to achive, as the App-V scripting interface does not allow to run post-shutdown
    scripts inside the protected environment (so, you can't trigger anything that launches _after_ firefox ended but that still has access to the virtualized HKCU\Software\Mozilla|Firefox locations.
    There are some workarounds, like to remove the resources from the _redirected_ location afterwards (HKCU/Software/AppV... somewhere, see http://www.virtualvibes.co.uk/where-the-app-v-client-puts-stuff/ for
    the general locations) or you could use a 'wrapper' application that is running inside the virtual environment and, launches Firefox itself and cleans up stuff after FFox ended. Both are not really nice.
    You could be able to redirect some settings to "non-appv'ed" locations outside of the virtual environment, but this basically is only usabel for files/folders (not reg values)
    If you are using a User Profile Management solution, you should be able to tell that to either ignore certain applications or to explicitely clean up stuff. If the UPM solution supports App-V 5, it should be able to handle it.
    Note that App-V does not allow the user to change _any_ 'programmatic' files inside the virtual environment (like .js); see http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2013/10/24/app-v-5-on-that-issue-with-firefox-where-you-cannot-save-preferences.aspx.

  • .war deployment and restricted access to admin activities

    Hi,
    1.
    Is there a way to configure the iAS7 to pick up the .war, .ear files from a directory and deploy those modules automatically? I am expecting a feature to be similar to that of the Tomcat. In Tomcat, if you copy your .war file in the web-apps directory, it automatically deploys the application.
    2.
    I am planning to restrict access rights to the developers through the web based admin application for iAS7.
    For ex: I only would like to allow the developer (non admin user) to deploy the applications but nothing else (not even restarting the server). Current web based admin interface allows the users to do everything, if logged in with the admin user. I read the documentation that mentions about distributed administration but I did not find any further doc on it.
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Thirupati Panyala

    1. No currently SUN ONE appln server does not have such a facililty.It is planned for the future release.
    2. Distributed administration is not supported by S1AS

  • Your system administrator has restricted access to this app.

    Enabled the Endpoint role on primary site server.
    Enabled Endpoint protection in Default Client Settings
    We have Default Client Antimalware Policy set.
    When I click on System Center EndPoint Protection in All Programs I get following error:
    Your system administrator has restricted access to this app.

    I am getting this on several windows client builds with SCEP now, we don't have an Applocker policy at all, one of the computers in question is running Win 7 Pro!
    I cant see how it could be malware as the users are standard users.
    I also don't know how long its been like this, but a machine we just re-imaged last week is now doing it.
    going to re-image and see if an update is causing it.

  • Restricting Access but still allowing acces to Java Apps

    I have a university lab that needs to use a Marching Band charting program that was written in Java. It uses the Apple JRE. I heavily restrict application access on these Macs and I can't get the Java app to run as the check box will not stick under User Limitations.
    The company says that this is an Apple bug because the User Limitations restricts access to the JRE and Java only apps won't run.
    Does anyone know a way around this? I need to restrict access but they need this app.
    Thanks,
    David

    I can't help with the mail problem, but you can always disable autologin via System Preferences->Accounts. That will prevent anyone from logging in without the password. If you have other admin accounts, either delete them or make them nonadmin accounts. To prevent anyone from booting the machine with an install disk or external HD, set an open firmware password. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106482 for details.

  • How to restrict access to views for some users in the app?

    Hi SDN!
    I have an WD application wich embedded in the portal. Appication has 2 iViews (and 2  pages respectively). These iViews consist several views connected with each other (e.g. one view provide list data, second view is add/edit form for this data). I need to restrict access for some users for view with add/edit form. I can't make separate page for this view.
    What I've done:
    1) create yet another UIContainer for this view in main window and embed view to this container. It was be done for create separate iView for form.
    2) in the portal I create iView for this form but don't embedd in any page.
    When I try to call my form from list data (that is one iView from another) I get exception:
    <b>com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: duplicate usage of view .MyCarRentalAddCity</b>
    Is there a way to get needed functional?
    Thanks,
    Lev

    Hi,
    do you need to remove the IView from the portal menu or do you just want to make a View container in your WD application invisible if the user doesn't have the rights to see it.
    If so, you could create your own roles on the app server:
    You need to create a new class that extends NamePermission like:
    import com.sap.security.api.permissions.NamePermission;
    public class ApplicationAccessPermission extends NamePermission {
               * @param name
              public ApplicationAccessPermission(String name) {
                   super(name);
               * @param name
               * @param action
              public ApplicationAccessPermission(String name, String action) {
                   super(name, action);
    Also, you have to create an Action.XML file that looks like this:
    <BUSINESSSERVICE
         NAME="com.vendor.administration">
         <DESCRIPTION
              LOCALE="en"
              VALUE="actions view usage"/>
         <ACTION
              NAME="View Permission">
              <DESCRIPTION
                   LOCALE="en"
                   VALUE="Show view"
                   />
              <PERMISSION
                   CLASS="com.vendor.utilities.ApplicationAccessPermission"
                   NAME="ShowView"
                   />
         </ACTION>
    </BUSINESSSERVICE>
    If you have created these to files in your packages, you can access this function like:
    IUser user ;
    try {
              user = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser();
              if(user.hasPermission(new ApplicationAccessPermission("Show view"))){
                   wdContext.currentV_UIElement().setViewVisibility(WDVisibility.VISIBLE);
              }else{
                   wdContext.currentV_UIElement().setViewVisibility(WDVisibility.NONE);
         }catch (WDUMException e1) {
              wdContext.currentV_UIElement().setViewVisibility(WDVisibility.NONE);
                    e1.printStacktrace();
    You have to bind the ViewVisibility attribute of the context to the View Container you want to hide.
    The applicationAccessPermission you defined in the XML File will be visible in the UME Manager of you J2EE engine. With this action you can create a new role and group that you can map to the users that should see you view.
    But, the exception you get is because you have embedded one view twice, which is not possible.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Dennis

    I have an iMac that has iTunes on it.
    My iPad is a first gen but its almost upto date, I haven't updated it for about a month.
    If anyone out there has some information I would appreciate it a lot.
    I am only doing this as iBooks isn't working
    Thanks in advance.

    Removing the SC Folder worked for me. But as an after thought and another potential problem although I do not think it is related, I had movies authorized thru my wifes Apple ID and she changed her ID a couple weeks ago. This, I think, could have had a contributing factor although not sure.
    You have to delete the SC Folder and then reboot and then go into iTunes, re-authorize if it asks, then I was able to sync the movies. Hope this helps a little.

  • Mac App Store error: Unable to run installation

    Hello, i recently got 2 updates in MAS and as soon as i tried to update, i got errors for both apps. It's saying unable to run installation:
    I tried to repair permissions but gettin the same error every time. What is the problem?

    UHm. That also could be a slow internet connection (with high ping) ? The fact is that when i click on update, it seems it's starting to download since my internet bandwidth meter goes to 500 or more kb/s download and after 2 secs it shows INSTALLED and after 2 more seconds it says there was an error.

  • Azure Antimalware (Endpoint Protection) says "your system administrator has restricted access to this app"

    I see many posts about using SCCM to configure policies, etc., etc. However, I can't find any information about my specific issue:
    I have installed the Antimalware extension on several Azure VMs. Only one VM allows access to "System Center Endpoint Protection". All the other ones say "your system administrator has restricted access to this app". Now, since I am the
    system administrator, I am at a loss how to be able to see / configure the other VMs using this program.
    I have not installed SCCM, since I didn't think I would need it. If, in fact, I must install SCCM, it pretty much defeats the purpose of an extension.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    --- If I am in the wrong forum, please let me know where I should post my question, since there don't appear to be any forums discussing extensions for Azure.

    Although azure endpoint protection is the same core technology as SCEP it is not managed in the same way. Also, if the ConfigMgr agent is not installed on these VMs, then it's quite impossible for ConfigMgr to the source of the issue here. You are better
    off posting to an Azure forum.
    However, did you elevate when launching the EP console?

    I need to restrict access to Settings on an iPad so settings like VoiceOver cannot be activated while letting them access multiple apps on the device. Is their any way to restrict access to settings without locking the device with a PIN?
    This is so our guests cannot tamper or disable the device. We are already using Apple Configurator but their does not seem to be a way to lock down settings without a PIN.

    There's a lot of restrictions information in Chapter 19 of the 4.2 User Guide.
    http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad
    By the way, a more extensive version of the User Manual is available at no charge through iBooks.

    The proper way would be changing the apps password and meet the security requirements in these docs.
