Unable to search Newly Added groups

Hi,
I have issue with respect to the newly added groups in shared services. Hyperion Foundation servie 11.1.2.1 , HSS restart needed to see the newly added groups
When created a new group and did a search on that newly added group, search gets no results found
This is in 11.1.2.1
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated

Hi Tejo,
We haven't updated to 11.1.2.1 yet, but I am sure you do not need to restart HSS services in order to be able to see the newly added groups. I haven't seen a note in the "Known Issues" section in SS Read Me document: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/readme/hss_1112100_readme.html#_Toc297102406
Have you opened an SR with Oracle?
Also, in 11.1.1.3, we have a weird bug with Shared Services. We cannot delete a native group if we login to Shared Services directly using the SS url: https://<server>/interop/index.jsp But if we login to Workspace and then go to Shared Services thru Workspace > Navigate > Administer > Shared Services Console, we are able to delete the native group. I don't think we've ever opened a ticket with Oracle, but I wonder if this is a similar case for you. How do you login to SS? If directly, try to login thru Workspace and see if you can replicate your issue.

    I created two groups in my address book on my MacBook when I first activated my iPhone four weeks ago... I added a third group to my address book today and iTunes is not recognizing my newly added group to sync. I've rebooted several times, my MacBook and my iPhone and it has not resolved. Please help!

    Got the same problem. Only I actually synch through USB. Tried iSync, iTunes. Reinstalled iTunes. Backed up Address Book. - nothing helped.
    Then i went to iTunes preferences -> Syncing and removed my iPhone's backup. That messed it up. Now none of my contacts sync! DO NOT DO THAT! and still iTunes shows only the old Address Book groups, not the new ones...
    Somebody out there, please help. The only way i can see right now is resetting the iPhone. It may get some of my contacts back on iPhone, but what about groups - i cant live without those!.... =(

  • SCOM 2012 SP1 - Created a new group and unable to "find" newly created group to create custom report

    Hello,
    I just created a new custom dynamic group based on database instances using a wildcard.  The group "DBgroup" populates just fine, I can see the members when choosing to view them via the group properties.  My issue is that when I'm going
    into the reporting pane, choosing the MS generic report library, and then choosing custom configuration...I am unable to "FIND" my group that i just created?   My questions are is there a length of time in which this group will get populated
    to the report server or do I have an issue?  I see no errors in the logs on the report server or management server.   I have not seen this before and I'm unsure where to go from here.  Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Does the group pop-up in the list now? It may take hours for the new Computer Group could be used in the reports.
    Besides, did you define a Group Scope for your user role?

  • Unable to view newly added data to fact table

    Hi,
    I have load some data into my fact table and dimensions to test my cube and make sure everything is OK, works fine so far.
    Now I have loaded data for another year 2013 into my fact table, all OK I have re-process the cube , all OK here too.
    When I want to browse the data, I can only see the data for 2014 in the browser but when I look at the totals the amount of rows are OK ( the count of sales transaction 8M for 2014 and 7.5M for 2013), I cannot see any thing under the year 2013,
    I have re-process and reload the cube 2-3 times but still the same results , I have looked under the partition tab and the estimated rows is OK, on the aggregation tab, it shows the original amount (8M) instead of 15.5M ( should this number be the same
    as the partition  estimated rows ?)
    How can the data not showing in 2013  but the totals row being OK ? I will need to add data until 2010 1 year at time ( very slow dev machine).

    FYI I just found out that the info is in the Year unknown instead of being displayed in year 2013

    This sounds like your date dimension does not have the relevant dates for 2013, so when you process these facts, they go into the unknown members in the date dimension. 
    I suggest that you ensure the dates are available and processed in the date dimension before you process your facts.

  • Force iPhone to put newly added contacts under iPhone contact group

    I want to be able to have my iphone put a newly added contact under my iphone contacts and not all contacts. Is there a way to force iphone to do this? I am using mobile me, think I remember hearing someone mention a setting in itunes for this. Don't have this option with mobile me.

    I agree with Oregon Farmer. All Contacts contain all contacts from every created group (i.e. "iPhone contacts"), so once you add a contact into "iPhone Contacts", the same info is placed in the "All Contacts" group. Sort of like "Music" in library and playlists.
    There used to be an option on the iTunes, but from this website, it suggests that option was for the original iPhone http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/iphone/mac.html
    I was browsing around looking for a way to add a new contact (i.e. from my recent calls list) directly into the "iPhone Contacts", rather than it going automatically only into the "All Contacts" list. If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate it. I'm also using Mobileme.

    I recently upgraded from a iPhone 3GS to a 4S. When I add a new contact on my phone it does not appear in my contact list. If I go to a new text message and type the name it appears as a suggestion and I can select it that way. I'm unable to edit the contact as it does not appear under my contact list. I have synced in through iTunes and even restored it. The numbers still do not show up in the contact list. I've also attempted to log into iCloud and the names do not appear there either. I've turned the contacts off under the iCloud settings and nothing changed. I still cannot see my newly added contacts in my contact list. Please help as I have tried everything I know and have no luck. It alsmot feels as though my numbers are being added to a "hidden" place. Thanks in advance!

    I've never done a sync with any program other than iTunes and iCloud. My groups are displayed in the left corner and they are all selected (I acutally just made up the groups today while messing with this whole issue so there aren't even contacts added to groups yet) and showing.

    Actually its a new responsibility where i add existing workbook, also shared the business area but when trying to execute the report through my user firstly it says "Workbbok cannot be expanded, Unable to open workbook" later when i close the page i get the below error

  • How to display newly added bookmarks on top of the list in Unsorted Bookmarks? (not in Bookmark Manager window)

    I have hundreds of bookmarks.The Bookmarks Toolbar is filled.I made a shortcut of the "Unsorted Bookmarks" folder and placed it in on the Bookmarks Toolbar.Whenever I click the star to add a bookmark, it adds one to the real Unsorted Bookmarks, which add a copy of that bookmarks into the folder named Unsorted Bookmarks which is on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
    When I click on the Unsorted Bookmarks(both original and shortcut folder), it displays the oldest bookmarks on top, which honestly makes no sense to me because the user has to scroll a lot to get to the newest bookmarks, which are more likely to be used than the old ones that have been sitting there for a long time.Is there any way to sort the bookmarks by a reversed chronological order and display newly added ones on top of the list ?
    I am aware that you can do this in Bookmarks Manager window(called Library?) but it requires too many steps and it's time consuming and not easy to use in general.I'd rather click on the folder on Bookmarks Toolbar to open my bookmarks, but they show old ones on top.

    Hmm, you might need to create a "smart folder" for this. You may have noticed some blue folders in your bookmarks such as "Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked". These show the results of a query run against your bookmarks or history (Places database) and you can create your own queries with a little elbow grease.
    So one possibility might be to create a custom "Recently Bookmarked" folder that extends beyond the current limit of 10. I gave the steps for creating a 20-item version of this folder in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/934205#answer-358492
    That example searched ''all'' bookmarks and not specifically Unsorted Bookmarks. To create a new "smart folder" for Unsorted Bookmarks, you could try this:
    (1) Select and copy the following places search query:
    place:queryType=1&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&folder=UNFILED_BOOKMARKS&sort=12&excludeQueries=1

Once it is on the toolbar, you can easily move it again to the desired location. During the first move, Firefox will recognize it as a query-type bookmark so that is why I have you create it on the menu and move it to the toolbar.

  • Unable to see Active Directory Groups in the User Profile Database after Profile Import

    ***Major Update - I have finally been able to get the direct attention of the folks responsible for the User Profile Service on the SharePoint Product Team.  Long story short, they have reproduced the error and identified as an actual mistake
    that needs to be fixed, so it is now officially in the bug pipeline and will be fixed.  The current estimate is some time in the summer.  They will keep me updated with timeframes, which I am allowed to share as time goes on.
    SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise RTM. W2K8R2 w/multi-server setup:
    AD/DNS
    SQL 2008
    WFE
    APP
    Claims Mode Web App only using Windows Integrated Auth
    So, this was never a problem in 2007, and I didn't even realize it was a problem in 2010 until I started to build a solution that utilized my blog article:
    InfoPath - User Roles in Browser-Enabled Forms Using AD Groups.  I went to utilize the same web method of the same web service, but I noticed that no data was showing up at all.  Typically,
    the GetUserMembership/GetCommonMembership methods return the specified user's memberships: AD Security Groups, AD Distribution Lists, and SharePoint Sites (not SharePoint Groups, though).
    My user profile sync is working.  All AD users are pulled in with the proper profile data.
    "Users and Groups" is selected in the Synchronization Entities section of my Sync Settings.
    Security groups are working for permissions and audience targeting.  Confirmed my users are affected properly by the use of Security Groups.
    My query to the GetUserMemberships web method (and GetCommonMemberships) is running (not failing), but it's not returning anything even though my user is in some Security Groups and has explicit membership to multiple sites.
    The GetUserProfileByName method of the same UserProfileService.asmx web service
    returns all the regular profile data like expected, so the web service works and my profile database is populated
    Basically, I'm not seeing my AD groups or any membership data populated in the profile database.  I did use MIISCLIENT.exe to see what I could find, and here is what I saw:
    Using the Metaverse Search, I searched for the "person" type and saw all of the users in my profile sync connection (single OU)
    Using the same tool, I searched for the "group" type and saw nothing, but the message said 4 items were retrieved
    I realized that the only column showing was displayName, and they were blank, so I added other columns to be sure
    objectGUID, objectType, distinguishedName all showed values, and I could now see all the Security Groups from the OU where I'm doing my profile sync
    My "person" objects all have displayNames showing but none of the groups do.  In SharePoint, the GetUserMemberships method relies on displayName and accountName, but neither are coming through the profile import
    So, it does seem like the groups are coming in with the profile import, but I can't see them.  I also can't verify that the groups are being associated with my users in the profile database, because doing a query to the membership methods returns nothing...not
    even blank rows.
    ***Edit:  New information!  Regular AD Distribution Lists _do_ work properly.  I just never bothered testing them until folks on my blog notified me.  DLs come through the profile sync, are visible in the profile database, and show up
    when using the GetUserMemberships method.
    ***Edit: Ok, now we're getting somewhere.  I checked my last profile sync with the MIISCLIENT, and this is what I found:

    Notice that the groupType value of the DL is a normal integer (2), but the groupType value of the SG is some crazy negative number.  Both types are still lacking DisplayNames for some reason, but when I retrieve the DL via GetUserMemberships, it DOES

    I have same problem with SP 2010 and now I am testing SP 2013 and seems that the problem still.aa
    Probably I have some configuration problem, but all seems work, except this.
    SharePoint 2013 has no improvements on this. Until seeing this thread, I thought it was an issue within my farm configuration or AD Service account for User Profile Sync. And I've dug far and wide for any other possible settings which would prevent users
    from populating in the site people-picker. This might be flagged as off-topic, but I'll beg differ. How can I expect SharePoint to retrieve AD Users and Groups for accuracy in the sites which rely on this server??? Frustrating. I've spent hours and days on
    this! I have 3 SP2013 farms with multiple clients (different OU's/containers and security groups). Testing in a separate QA DEV farm with the same config. NO luck yet!

    Hope we find a better answer, as it IS very misleading. User Profile Import specifies Users, or Users and Groups. Nothing is said about Containers or Distribution Groups, worse yet there lacks any clear disclosure about how "Groups" will not
    actually import if they are a Global Security Group and the users contained within them exclusively will NOT be included in your profiles,
    nor in any compiled Audiences. Which was another BIG bummer!
    I'm hoping to see future improvements on the Group imports.

  • Document Set shared columns not propagated to documents newly added

    I have a Document Set with shared Managed Metadata and Person fields.
    I have found that sometimes some managed metadata fields are not propagated to newly added documents using drag and drop with Windows Explorer.
    [ Note : Sharepoint 2013 with SP1 ]
    Example
    Field A = Person or group (optional)
    Field B = Managed Metadata (optional)
    Step 1 :
    I create a new Document Set (lets call this one docset X), with field A empty and field B with a value.
    I save this docset then open the document library in Windows Explorer and finaly, drag and drop a document inside the folder of this newly created docset.
    When I look at the properties of the document, I found that there is no value in the field B even if it's not the case of the docset.
    Step 2 :
    I create another Document Set (lets call this one docset Z), and add a value inside field A and field B.
    Again, I save this docset then open the document library in Windows Explorer and finaly, drag and drop a document inside the folder of this newly created docset.
    When I look at the properties of the document, I found that there is a value in the field B and in the field A.
    Conclusion
    So it seems that the propagation of field B depends on if there is a value inside field A.
    It does not make sense.
    Any ideas ?

    I tried many times and couldn't reproduce your issue in my environment(SP 2013+SP1), manged metadata field value in Docuemnt Set content item always could be propagated to documents dragged/dropped in this doc set folder via Windows Explorer regarding
    other fields value.
    You may try to test on other lists, site collections or web applications (may also test with new manged metada term store), see if this issue could be reproduced or isolate, the manged metada column value shouldn't be depend on other column value.
    Also check ULS log, see if there is any related error message generated when the document is dragged to the library windows explorer with this issue.

  • Newly added OAF region is shown in Worklist but not appearing in Email...

    Hi,
    We have a very serious issue in our applications. We have customized Requisition Approval workflow and in the Requisition approval notificaiton, added one extra OA Framework region attribute. The region fetches some value from a custom table and renders it. This region is perfectly alright when seen from the worklist. But the email that is sent for the same notification, the region is not appearing !
    We have checked a lot but unable to find what we are missing here. If it is a problem with the region, then it shouldn't appear in worklist too. The strange thing is that this was working (region was appearing in email) in one instance. When the same code were moved to another instance, it is not working (region is shown only in worklist). Please help me as this is very urgent for us.

    OK, there is other way to check.
    1) Take the notification framework region URL from the Workflow Mailer log ( log should be STATEMENT level)
    2) and copy / paste same URL in a web Browser ( you may login as SYSADMIN user)
    3) and see if newly added region comes?
    Just check if you bounced the iAS after apply the changes on that instance.

  • How to get the Newly added fileds from Oracle to BW

    We have created the view in the DB side and extracted the data to BW side. After that in the DB side they have added new filed. I want to extract the data for that filed also. But that filed is not displaying in the data source itself. We have deleted the sources system assignment to that particular info source and generated the data source in the source system side, and then also I an unable to get the newly added filed in the data source. We are extracting the data from the ORACLE data base. Please let me know the steps how to get the newly added filed in the data source.

    yes i have alreday created the info objects in the BW side. In the Oracle DB i can see the fileds in the data sources. Newly added filed is not displaying where as previous all fileds are displaying in the oracle DBside.

  • Why can I not see any newly created 'Groups' in 'Work Group Manager' on the client Mac at login?

    Hi. Now, this issue has not been resolved since 10.6 Server. I have now upgraded to Mountain Lion and the issue still persists. I used to easily create Workgroups/Groups in 'WGM' and they would appear at login for those users who were part of that group. As it stands the old created groups appear ok and can be accessed selected at the point of logging in. The newly created groups don't show up at all. They all look good to go when looking at WGM. I have tried removing the Users from the groups and adding them again but there is no change. It is getting me so frustrated!
    Why is this happening? Is there a quick fix for this?
    Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi. Now thats a hard one to pin point exactly.  I guess you mean Archiving the OD and exporting users and groups etc Yes this happened when we upgraded from 10.5.8 Server to 10.6 Server.
    How do I go about fixing this in Mac OS X Server 10.8.4?  Do I have to go through all that again?  Will I lose any settings in doing so?
