Unable to succesfully replace CA

I have a small ZCM 10.3.2 zone (one server)
During the install (about a year ago) I used the eDirectory CA to sign the CSR.
Everything was working fine.
Our CA was going to expire at the end of the year so I reacreated the CA.
Now I want to use the new CA for ZCM again.
I followed the steps from the documentation here:
Novell Documentation
Everything seemed OK. New certificate is being used when I open ZCC.
When I try to get my adaptive agent to reregister itslef I run into issues.
I get error "sslpolicyerrors.remotecertificatechainerrors" in the agent debug log and the message "Could not estabish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel" error if I do a zac reg.
I found TID 7002409 on the issue, but doen not help in my case.
So I went back and recreated the certificates using the internal CA, no issues after that. Everything seems to work fine then.
But I do want to use my own signed certificate if possible.
Any ideas?

But I don't see the relevance, my question is about the certificates used within ZCM, not the LDAP certificate to the usersource.
Even if I don't have a usersource I would get the same issue (I assume).

Apple unable to unlock replacement unlocked iPhone 4S

This is especially important to anyone who purchased an unofficial unlocked iPhone 4S in the USA with an AT&T micro-sim rather than the official unlocked iPhone 4S SKU packages (starting on 11/11/11).
On Oct 17th I purchased a 32gb iPhone 4S at an Apple store in North NJ. The phone was purchased at full price and was indeed unlocked. Unfortunately, the microphone crapped out after one day.
Oct 19th I get a replacement that functions perfectly unfortunately the phone was locked to AT&T. Apple tried feverishly to unlock the phone through their engineering department. The phone was listed on it's profile as "unlocked", but the phone was still locked. The consensus was it was an unforseen issue to an unforseen problem that wasn't anticipated so there was no way to resolve it at the moment. The solution was to return the phone and repurchase another.
Oct 21st I return the replacement phone with the box from the original phone. They bring me a new phone, open the box and hand me the phone. The phone was unlocked.
Oct 31st I get home from a trip and to make a long story short, I break the screen on the unlocked phone. I am unable to get a replacement for my iPhone from any Apple store in my area at this time.
Nov 2nd Apple sends me a replacement they assured me would be unlocked.
Nov 3rd I receive a locked replacement from Apple.
Without going in to too much detail; I spoke to every level of advisor, an engineer for several days following the receipt of the locked replacement and they assured me they would be able to unlock this iPhone by placing the serial number into a database which affirms the unlock every time the phone is synced.
Again, I was assured this would solve the issue of activating the unlock. However it was finally determined (on Nov 11th) that something is inherently wrong in the system. The senior advisor I spoke to yesterday said that the issue I am having has already sprung up a handful of times with similar results. His resultion was for me to go to the Apple store (he made the appointment for me and spoke to the manager of the store) and return my phone and purchase a factory unlocked iPhone 4S.

Believe what you want. Maybe it wasn't locked down from the moment of sale, but it was sold as carrier locked to AT&T.
Similarly, news has broken recently that the SIM slots in phones sold on Sprint were unlocked out of the box, but Sprint would be locking them down effective yesteday.
Any phone that came with an AT&T SIM card was not meant to be unlocked. It may have taken some time for Apple/AT&T to pur the serial numbers in the system and get them locked down, but they were never advertised or sold as unlocked. I don't know why Apple would spend so much time on this with you frankly, as unlocked phones did not officially become available to order in the U.S. until yesterday.
Perhaps, now that there is one model of iPhone in the US that for the first time, is available on multiple carriers, They are ALL unlocked on the shelves and are being fed into the database to be locked down at the time of sale. This is the way it has worked in some countries for a while (where there were multiple, supported, GSM carriers).
Either way, you're not going to find much in the way of sympathy here, since Apple did not advertise or market the unlocked iPhone in the US at the time you bought yours.
If you bought your phone on October 17th, then you have 5 more days left to return it for a refund. I sugest you do that and purchase an iPhone that is actually marketed and sold as unlocked instead.

Unable to modify/replace/unlock hosts file with admin account

Hi all,
I'm having a serious issue when trying to modify the hosts file in Yosemite 10.10.3
I already tried through the terminal with sudo commands, Get Info window, editing the file externaly and then trying to replace the original hosts with the new but nothing works. Already repaired the disk permisions in case it had to be with the issue but didn't help.
I'm using an account with admin privileges but it seems I'm not allowed to unlock the file.

Premiere 9 unable to edit replace or delete transitions

Hi
Really struggling with this:-
I have created a slideshow in Elements 9 containing stills and clips which I need to edit further in Pre. 9 to include scene markers and edit some of the clips. I right click the slideshow and select "edit in Pre. Elements" and then from the timeline again right click and select "break apart elements organiser slideshow" so far all ok. Unfotunately in the transfer it appears that transitions have been added where there arn't any in the original or have replaced a link between an additional pan/zoom on a still. I have not been able to clear/delete or edit any of the transitions. The transitions look like they have been deleted or changed on the sceneline but when previewed the old ones are still there. I have also noted that some of the transitions are not compatible e.g. Gradient Wipe has a different effect in Elements that it does in Pre. Please help I really need to get rid of these unwanted transitions!!!

Thanks for the advice, that looks to be the only way round it as I have
not found any of the transitions from Organizer Create Slideshow,
including "None" that PRE can change/remove etc. As far as I can tell
whatever options I select in the Create Slideshow (transition type and
duration and slide duration) seem to be set in concrete as far as PRE is
concerned.
What was really bugging me though was that PRE was inserting an unwanted
transition between linked slides, i.e. where an additional Pan&Zoom is
added to a still (which BTW is a super effect great for highlighting
multiple details on a photo). If I select all transitions in Organizer
Create Slideshow and change it no problem here, the links are left
alone, however PRE will apply that transition to the link i.e overwrite
it. Workaround is to add any additional Pan/Zooms only AFTER setting a
default transition.

Unable to Request Replacement Battery Service!

I am trying to replace my iPod battery online using the support request form. However on 3 different machines, all using different web browsers I get the following JavaScript popup at the Billing Address page:
"There are no Billable parts (22400,222)
null"
Please can someone explain why I am getting this message which is preventing me from continuing. I really need to replace my iPod battery as the device wont work unless plugged in.

I have succesfully replaced firefox 4.0.1 with 3.6.2 as I have a Mac Mini but not the intel chip. Everything works fine except I can't get rid of the install window and the firefox logo in a simulated drive on my desk top home screen.

When viewing videos, they would seem to running in slow motion. I thought that by reverting back to an older version that was compatible with my system that I might correct the problem.

Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

Array elements keep returning to their initial value after being replaced

Hello,
This is my first post here, but this looks like a great place to discuss labview.
I have a strange problem that probably has a simple answer.
Basically, I have initialized an array outside of a "for loop" that contains a "flat sequence structure." I use the array inside the flat seq structure, replacing elements within the array, incrementaly by 1 starting with index 0, so i have run a wire through the "for loop" barrier and then through the "flat seq structure box".
However when I step through my VI what happens is this.
On the first run through, it succesfully changes the element at index 0. On the next iteration it succesfully replaces the element at index 1, however, now index 0 has returned to its initial value! .... This continues.... say im up to my 100th iteration, all the previous indexes have all returned to their initialized value but index 99 (its the 100th iteration) now has the value it should...however on the next iteration, index 99 will return to its initialized value.... its a vicious cycle..
Can anybody tell me what I've screwed up?

Are you using a shift register on your loop or a tunnel? If you are using a tunnel, then the orginal value is always passed into the loop. If you use a shift register, then each iteration of the loop has the value passed in the last iteration of the loop. I'm not at work, so can't setup a perfect example, but this is from an example I showed someone else. The first two examples I show here are using shift registers and a 2-D array. The second example uses an element only available in later versions of LV, but is supposed to be more efficient memory wise.

Unable to make a new site connection

Contribute is unable to succesfully make a new site connection with FTP. The strange thing is that it works fine with Contribute CS3 4.1. How is this possible?

I think there was an error during your installation. The solution that has helped the most people out with this exact problem (greying out of all menu options) is to delete the iWeb application and then do a new reinstallation of iWeb. Then update to 1.1.1 via Software Update. The menu options should reappear for you. Otherwise, try deleting the iWeb preferences file "com.apple.iWeb.plist" in your hard drive/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ folder.

Mega 180 FM antenna replacement

Hello, wondering if anyone has succesfully replaced the antenna that comes with the Mega with one that actually works? I have been looking at amplified FM antennas but am not sure what adapters are needed to use it with the plug on the back of the mega. Does anyone know or has anyone tried a different antenna at all? Thanks!

Rep this has been asked before. The plug you need is an RCA plug or a converter from the standard TV plug to RCA. Most TV capture card have these convertors if you want to see what they look like (about an inch long)

Things to know before (and after) building a Mega 865

As I am seeing a lot of the same questions regarding the Mega 865 I created this document,

Processors in general
Start with the processor, I would say get something around 3 gighz (give or take) which is quite affordeble. If you are going for a prescott, make sure you upgrade your bios to 1.3 (see below).It will run a bit hot (understatement) otherwise.
If going for northwood any version is ok I believe. When I chose mine I let $$$ descide, and the prescott was on sale. (If I would buy a CPU for the Mega again, I would most likely go for a Northwood this time). Before buying your processor make sure your processor is supported, you can find the supported processors here;

Harddisk
As for Harddisk, I would suggest anything goes but take a serial ata since that is becoming the new standard nowadays.
When buying a HD larger than 130 Gig, make sure you install from a Windows XP SP1 CD (or higher) or divide your HD in smaller pieces. Otherwise you will not get a bigger partition than 130 Gigs.
DVD/CDROM
As for DVD/CD player, there is a special thread (see below) where everyone states if their DVD/CD player is working with the mega (there are some issues with some drives in HiFi mode, EVEN if they are MSI)
Mega PC barebones optical drive compatibility list
Memory
As for memory, get at least 512 Mb or 1024 Mb if you want to sit cosy. two sticks of DDR400 (a.k.a 3200) will do. Get a a-brand like Kingston, Samsung or look around on the forums what will work.
Installing Windows XP
Before installing Windows disable your USB devices, if you fail to do this you run the chance of not installing Windows XP on your C: drive (harddisk) and this will cause you trouble later on. After installation is complete you may enable them again.
Prescott processors & full size AGP cards
As for the GPU (Graphics card), this depends on what you are going to do with it. If you wanna try out at showshifting, and viewing get one with integrated TV tuner. Or use the on-board (some people are quite happy with it) and add a separate PCI tv tuner. If you wanna do hefty gaming (Doom3, Far Cry ... etc) you may want to get an better one. I'm quite happy with my Radeon 9800.
Please note; According to MSI, Prescott processors in combination with full-size AGP (add-in) cards are not supported. This is most likely a power issue since the full-size cards use a lot of power to run. Some forum members, stuborn as they are, are running with a full-size card.
Also note that you are installing a full-size card on your own risk in combination with a Prescott processor.

If you do not want to take chances, go with a Northwood processor. Apperantly there is little perfomance difference between a Northwood and a Prescott processor, and the Northwood runs slightly cooler too.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 & Bios Update
When installing Windows XP with SP2 make sure you have the latest Bios version loaded (1.3) or install a Microsoft work-around fix. SP2 will not install without it, and you will have a hard time getting your system to work.

To install the latest bios, I would advise against using live-update. Use one of the following options instead;
1) Burn a bootable CD-Rom also containing the bios and flash software, (note some of the original Win98 CD's are bootable to MS-DOS prompt)
2) Create a bootable USB-memory key

Bios update failure
Some people still manage to goof-up their bios, by doing the bios update from windows (winflash, live-update). I think there is only one road to travel when this happens, you have to attach a floppy drive to your mega. Then follow the following instructions (Award bios)

PC-Alert
Do not use the PC-Alert version from the MSI website as this does not work together with your Mega 865, instead only use the one on the CD-Rom that was supplied. In general even the supplied PC-Alert has caused a lot of grief (Taking up resources, reboot problems ... etc). If you choose to install PC-Alert, at least remove it from your start-up folder where it is installed. You can always start it manually from the MSI menu in your Start menu.
A good alternative to Pc-Alert is Speedfan, this program should be able to spot your 2 temeperature sensored CPU fans. You can then connect these fans to the CPU temperature sensor and be able to tweak the RPM's according to your need. Speedfan 4.17 can be found here;

Temperatures
As these tiny PC's have very little space, it is quite normal for them to run a bit hot. Do not be alarmed to see CPU temperatures around 60-65 degrees when running on load (depending on your processor of course).
Wireless Network adapter
As for wireless internet, the mega865 has a built-in mini-pci nic (network card). which supports only the 11 Mbps data rate. I think you have to try it out and see how it goes, you can always upgrade to 54 Mbps. I would suggest to get a 54Mbps access point, so you can always upgrade if needed (54Mbps will also work with 11 Mbps) Some forum members have succesfully replaced their Wireless Network adapters with a 54Mbps one. The following network adapters seem to be working;(please add to this thread if you have tested a wireless 54Mbps network adapter so I will add it to this document)
Intel PRO/Wireless BG Network Adapter
6 Channel sound
I recently bought a 5.1 set from Soundblaster. You can connect the 3 connectors to the back of your Mega, then in the Sound util set it up for 5.1 surround sound and you are ready to go. Definately worth it !
Reboot problems
When you run into problems when the Mega reboots suddenly, watch out for a couple of things.
Always check your event/log viewer. It is in your configuration management, but the easiest way to start it is to enter the following in your Run or Command line entry
eventvwr /s
Check if you see red-dots in your application section or system section. Google the problems before dropping them on the forum ! (As most problems are not Mega related IMHO)
One problem I had was caused by BITS 1.5, I had to upgrade to BITS 2.0. (I think it was recently released by Microsoft-Update but I mention it anyway). Bits 1.5 caused my Mega to reboot.
LCD Display / Sound problems
If you have any problems where your front LCD display is not working or your on-board sound is 'missing' first try unplugging your mega from the power outlet (so completely powering down) for 2 minutes. If you still have problems, drop them on this forum.
LCD API ?
Alas, no external programs are available to 'drive' your LCD display. Nor will MSI release an API/Blue print on how to control it.
If you find anything missing here or have additional tips, please add them to this thread and I will update this document.

if i can add my tuppence worth, anyone considering going for a powerful graphics card can always shy away from the prescott
i was reading an article just when the prescott core cpus came out and the review basically said that there wasn't really much performance wise between the new prescott and the older Northwood cores.
obviously newer prescotts have higher clock speeds now (3.2? 3.4??), but surely a 2.8ghz CPU is still going to be powerful enough to play the latest games!! (in conjunction with a top graphics card obviously)
is the extra temp increase surely worth the extra couple of hundred mhz?

RAM problem on MS-6191

I have a MS-6191 mainboard, with Athlon 750 MHz and nVidia Gforce 2MX 400 64 SDRAM on it, HDD WD400BB, LiteOn CDRW32/10/12, memory - various (depends on what my comp accepst to run at all), bios 1.0 AWARD, OS - xp pro (former: win 98).
My problem is memory support. When I have single 64 Mb SDRAM Dimm module (single-sided, PC 100, manufacturer: M.tec) everything works perfectly.
When I have 1 or 2 128 MBytes SDRAM DIMM (also M.tec, doble-sided, but PC 133, it worked with 100MHz, 66 Mhz and 133 MHz clock - all clocks ok in other computers) onboard the POST is being normally performed, the memory is being properly recognized (as 128/256 MBytes) by BIOS, system booting seqence passes ok.
Problem: in the end of system loading, an error occurs and the system hangs up (Win 98 - error in "kern.exe" or sth like this), restart is neecssary. In Win xp pro first greeting win xp screen comes (loading..), then there comes a screen: booting was stopped to avoid your computer's damage (near meaning, it's translation from my language, only blue screen with white text).
It is intersting for me, what reason can it be caused by?
Maybe either BIOS upgrade could help (Award 1.0 - can it be replaced with ami ver. 1.6 downloaded from your website?) or the PC-100 only (not higher clocks, even if they support PC100 on other boards) modules can be built-in?
The present board BIOS is ver 1.0 by AWARD. Can it be succesfully replaced with ami ver. 1.6 downloaded from MSI website, using tools attached in the downloaded archive? (sorry, at present I can't use Live Update utility). If no, can I get the newest AWARD anywhere?
Now I have Win XP PRo OS. It has installed drivers for the mainboard automatically. Is it neccessary to load drivers from MSI website? (in archives for MS-6191 it does not include xp version - may it be win 2000 or NT version intended to be installed? maybe the problem with memory is caused by the driver?

I was just considering why it won't work on pc133, if they run properly on 66/100/133 MHz clock on other boards (and I simply have these ones). Maybe someone has tried to fix it yet?
It's not typical, when BIOS can see these DIMMs and recognize them properly, but system hangs long long after that - Win XP PRO show:

Help! Installed SSD and now no itunes or iphoto

Hi all,
I've succesfully replaced my optical drive with a new SSD, leaving my old HD in place. Things were going well until I discovered that I can't connect iTunes to my old media folder and iPhoto crashes.
What I would like to do:
- Use the SSD as boot disk and to run all applications
- Use the old HD (still installed) as a storage disk for files, music, media, etc
What I did:
- Installed Lion on new SSD
- During the install, used migration assistant to bring over the applications and system settings from my old user account to the SSD
- Left the other files on the HD
What happened
- Things went fine. I opened up Lion off the new SSD and saw my familiar old desktop (now booting up at lightning speed) and both drives available through finder. Opened up Word, saw all my recent documents just as I'd left them.
- Then, I opened iTunes and found no files. I redirected itunes to my old HD's media folder, but nothing shows up in iTunes even after the redirect.
- Then, I opened iPhoto and was prompted to choose which folder off my old HD should be used. I chose one and it crashed. Not iPhoto gives me an error message that says, "Your photo library is damaged or unreadable. Please restore from backup." I haven't had a chance to back anything up yet, as I am just in the process of all of this.
What I tried:
- Restoring permissions and rebooting
- Redirecting my admin account to the old HD through Account - Admin Acct (right click) - Advanced Options - Choose Home Directory
- when rebooting, this brought me to a "brand new desktop" that no longer had any of my old stuff on it
- Creating a new user account with admin priveleges and choosing the user acct off the HD as per above (same result), with the added feature of having "system preferences" no longer able to open at all and a note from iPhoto that says I don't have sufficient permissions.
Any ideas???

You probably have a permissions problem. You probably created a new account and are trying to get access to folder(s) that belong to your old account.
To access your files, your account and the files must have the same permissions. This article has a brief tutorial.
Troubleshooting permissions issues in Mac OS X
When you have that under control, iTunes is a special case that will need a little more work:
iTunes: Missing folder or incorrect permissions may prevent authorization
Above all, don't panic, your files are fine. When you get the permissions straightened out (it will take more steps than just Repair Permissions) everything will be fine.

Placed Order online for an iPad Mini Retina 128 GB
Received email from Bestbuy.com that order was canceled.
Phoned Best Buy Customer Service-Customer Services rep could not find out specific issue why order was canceled. She suggested me to verify all account info and called my credit card company
Phoned Credit Card company-CC company had no record at all that BestBuy even attempted to get pre-authorization code
Phoned Best Buy Customer Services-Informed the Customer Services rep about credit card company’s response.
Suggested Resolution 1 by Service Rep: Can you try to place the order again?   i.     My response: I tried. But the coupon doesn’t work anymore.
Suggested Resolution 2 by Service Rep: please send an email to [email protected] and see if they can resend you another code i.     My response: Could you help me escalate to this issue by sending a request for me? It doesn’t make sense for me as customer to make so much effort to do business with BB while no one could tell me why it was canceled. Besides, the email address is so long.
       ii.     BB Response: You have to send the request to that email address. That’s what we were told to do. They have to decide if you will get the code again.
iii.     My response: Thank you. (end of conversation).
9. Emailed BestBuy customer service to request clarification why order was canceled and requested re-issuance of coupon code.
- Here is response: Hello ****, Thank you so much for contacting Bestbuy.com regarding your college student deals. I regret to inform you that these coupons are unable to be replaced if the coupon is lost, stolen, or if your order is canceled or return/exchanged as it is clearly stated on each coupon. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you, ***** Best Buy Enterprise Customer Care
Yes, I am not a happy customer. But I don’t think BB even sees me as customer.   With details of events, what’s wrong with customer service process design?
This is my last attempt to buy anything from BestBuy because it appears that whoever posted issues related to canceled orders in the forum got their resolutions.   Check it out yourself by searching “canceled order”.

Making purchases online should be an easy and hassle-free way to get your hands on some great products. As someone who makes the majority of their purchases online, I’m sure it was frustrating to find your order cancelled, especially without a firm answer as to why. I’m sorry for any frustration this has caused, even more so as you've lost your College Student Deals coupon that was attached to your order.
There are many reasons as to why an order may be cancelled without first notifying you. It could be anything from the delivery address not being recognized by the assigned carrier (UPS or USPS) to an account detail not matching a credit card’s billing information. After looking through your cancelled order using your email address on the forum though, I’m unsure as to the exact reason why it was cancelled, and I’m looking into this further.
Once I have more information, I’ll follow up with you so that we may discuss what options we may have from there.

Save As Other - Optimized PDF error

I'm on OSX Mavericks, Acrobat XI.
I read the other forum called "Reduce file size Acrobat X" but couldn't find an answer to my specific issue.
Since upgrading to XI I've been unable to succesfully reduce the file size of a pdf. Here's my workflow:
- I start by going to "Create > Combine files into a single PDF"
- I'm creating a pdf of scanned documents (no fonts used) so I drag in the jpegs in and it successfully assembles a multipage pdf
- I go to "Save As Other... > Optimized PDF..." and then make a few adjustments like lower the jpeg compression level and the DPI.
- I then save the document and there is absolutely no change in the document size. It doesn't matter what settings I make, they don't seem to have any effect on the image sizes.
- Another bug keeps occuring that may or may not be related. Every few days I see a popup window asking me to update Acrobat. When I check the Creative Cloud app it says that Acrobat XI is up-to-date. Is there any connection? How do I make that popup stop (it seems like a pre-CC style popup).
I've been using Acrobat Professional for more than a decade and never had any issues like this in the past.

Using Acrobat XI Pro you could try a workflow that uses an Acrobat Action.
