Unable to update files in cache

We are getting an error message whenever we are accessing out online Java program. Everything works fine with earlier version of JRE 1.5; 1.4 etc. but with the new installation of 1.6.0 or 1.6_01 we are getting the new error message. Strangly enough the program works after clicking OK, my only concern is how to disable or prevent of not showing up that error message. Below is the message that we are getting and the details. Please advise.
sun.plugin.cache.JarCacheVersionException: Number of attributes specified in 'cache_archive' doesn't match those in 'cache_version'
     at sun.plugin.cache.JarCacheUtil.getJarsWithVersion(Unknown Source)
     at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.initJarVersionMap(Unknown Source)
     at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createClassLoader(Unknown Source)
     at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.appletInit(Unknown Source)
     at sun.plugin.viewer.LifeCycleManager.initAppletPanel(Unknown Source)
     at sun.plugin.viewer.IExplorerPluginObject$Initer.run(Unknown Source)

FYI... The problem is with web page that hosts the Applet. The the "cache_archive" element lets the page author specify which JAR files to store in local cache. The "cache_version" specifies the version number of each of those JAR files listed in the "cache_archive" element. If the page author put 4 JAR files in the "cache_archive" element, but only put 3 versions in the "cache_version" element, then you will get this error message. You should report the error to the page author.
Hope this helps.

  • I keep receiving an error message, "unable to update files in cache"

Yesterday I install the latest version of Firefox 3.6.14 and I'm constantly receiving an error message, "unable to update files in cache," is this a settings issue, and how can I fix the problem.

Hi Terry, A post is the message that anyone has just typed in. When you replied to me, that was your post. I am replying to you so this is my post. Think of it as sending an email or mailing a letter at the "post" office.
Now right at the top of the last post (message) you sent me is a Post#, then the date and time and under that the thread subject "Re: I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player 10 and I keep getting......
The first time that you posted, you described your problem. The next post after that is #1 and so on.
The Adobe Flash Player forum works very much like email except there are a lot of "threads". A thread is what each message you see is called. Everyone that registers can start their own thread (subject). Then other people see it and can post to your thread and try to help you with your problem.
You did pretty good, you registered, and you started your first thread
Now do you feel somewhat more relaxed?  Hope so.
Take a look now and see if you can find the Post# and etc that I described above.

  • I'm getting error messages that read, "unable to update files in cache"

Ever since I've installed the latest version of Firefox onto my laptop, I've been getting a message error that reads, "unable to update files in cache," repeatedly. I was wondering if this is a settings issue?

  • Unable to Update file on Local Get Error Message

    accessing C\Inetpub\wwwroot\........\.....\ etc.
Can anyone tell me why i can't update/save my pages?
    Thank you,
    Beverly

Hi - thanks for your response Lars_3
Yes, it's definitely switched on :)
I've checked in Device Manager, and there is an error there, however I'm unable to find out what, for instance if I click to scan for hardware changes, nothing happens at all, although the icon does display a yellow exclamation triangle alongside, so I'm guessing the problem is with the actual internal adapter.
I've tried downloaded the latest driver, but it states I already have the most recent one.
I'm perhaps most concerned with how it's broken 'by itself' - would you know if thats something that can happen, or is there usually a cause? Would an additional plug-in WiFi adapter solve the problem, do you think? Or would the error continue through to that as well?
    Thanks again for your help.

I imported files from an external hard drive to Itunes on a new computer.  they imported & play fine, but the ratings & playlists are gone & i am unable to update any info.  I found a file name playlist on old drive & imported now most files are missing!  Help!

Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

  • UCCX 8.0 CAD: Can you disable auto update? Error: "unable to download file" Could not open request.

    I have a UCCX 8.0 (2) Installed.
Users here have limited access via proxy. Now everytime i try to run the CAD or CSD, i get the error:
"unable to download file" Could not open request.
It seems to want to install or check for an update.
The work around i have found is to go to the CAD directory and change the update.exe filename
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\CAD\bin\update.exe
i dont want to have to do this for every user as i possibly want the update.
Is there a way to allow or bypass proxy on CAD?
    Regards
    J

I had this problem before - to resolve it I disabled the proxy in internet explorer settings.
You'll need to make sure the CAD version matches your UCCX server version. Otherwise you may run in to issues.

    Hello Smile_333
The article below will assist with finding things and help increase the hard drive space for your computer. The best way is to have an external hard drive to copy things to if you do not want to delete and loose things.

  • HT1414 i am getting an error message saying unable to update as the firmware file is not compataible .Any solution to this problem

when i try to update iphone 4 i am getting message saying unable to update  the firmware file was not compataible .
    Any solution to this problem

If the problem is sending to just one address and it has worked in the past, I don't know if this will work. I posted this to another thread yesterday for someone who had the same problem you are having and it worked for them. You can take a look. This is thread that I found and the words below are the OP's suggested fix.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3048200?start=0&tstart=0
On the iphone i went  Settings>Mail, contacts calanders>choose relevant account (if you have more than 1)> accountname>accountname> scroll down to 'Outgoing Mail server' and click on SMTP >click on your Primary Server >
My #Username and Password were showing 'Optional'.  Filled them in with the correct details (email account login) and that fixed problem.

Since updating to OS X Yosemite, I am unable to save files into another computer or server. I have to save it on my desktop and then drag it into the server. How do i correct this?

Ok this worked to solve the error.
Use cmd prompt in windows 7 or 8 and run as admin:
    sc config lanmanworkstation depend= bowser/mrxsmb10/nsi
    sc config mrxsmb20 start= disabled
No need for all that power shell nonsense as shown elsewhere for windows 8.
That's it. Also force smb2 disabling on the apple side for good measure.
With the above I was able to network mavericks and windows 8.1 pro flawlessly. He issues I had before where I could not read video, ISO and audio files (but could open documents and pictures from the windows machine connected to an apple network share folder went away.

  • HT1338 I'm unable to update any software on my macbook air and iMac

I'm unable to update any software on my macbook air and iMac getting the following error "to update your software you need to sign in with the account you used to purchase it" any help is appreciated

Please try each of the following steps you haven't already taken, until the issue is resolved. After each step, relaunch the App Store and try again.
    1. Follow the instructions in the Apple Support article linked below:
Mac App Store: Cannot update App Store purchases or updates do not seem available
    2. If any App Store purchases were made under a different Apple ID, or if the bundled iLife applications were accepted under a different ID, sign in to the App Store with that ID to update.
    3. Alternatively, delete the probem applications and re-download them with the ID you're using now. If you haven't already purchased them with that ID, you'll have to do that first, because purchases can't be transferred from one account to another.
    4. Select the Purchased tab in the App Store window. If you see an item in the list marked "You have 3 apps to accept," click Accept.
    5. Triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window may open with a file selected. If it does, delete the selected file. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Then repeat step 4.
    6. Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. If you're trying to update any hidden purchases, unhide them.
    7. Launch iTunes and select
    Store ▹ Authorize This Computer
    from the menu bar.
    8. If you've moved any App Store apps out of the applications folder, or into a subfolder, put them back. Never move or copy those applications.

  • OSX: Adobe Creative Cloud unable to update (stall at 50%)

    Hey experts,
ever since signing up for Creative Cloud I have been unable to update any application as my regular user on OSX. After exchanging 23 emails with the Adobe support in 2013 I finally gave up and created a workaround in the hope that the Adobe developers would finally look into the issue and fix the bug. With the last update of Creative Cloud my workaround stopped working so I took time to do a complete reinstallation of Creative Cloud to see if the bug was finally fixed. It was not.
    The bug:
-Installation of Creative Cloud and Photoshop, Lightroom etc. through the Creative Cloud app works.
-Any try to update a CC applicaton (e. g. Photoshop CC 2014 results in the state "waiting" at 50%):
-Trying to update through the menu of Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 "Aktualisierungen"
resulted in the following error message:
Translation: "Update failed. Unable to apply updates. Adobe Application manager is already running. Close all instances of Adobe Application Manager before applying updates. etc."
What I tried to resolve the problem:
    What did not work:
    -Complete reinstallation of Creative Cloud:
         -Uninstall of all Adobe applications
-Ran the Adobe CC Cleaner tool
-Eliminated every single *[Aa]dobe*-folder on my disk including my profile.
         -Reboot
-Re-installation using a fresh CC download.
-The common 1st-level-support acts of desperation:
         -Rebooting
         -Checking the file system
         -Fixing permissions
-The bug even survived 2 OSX system upgrades
-Even tried to track down the bug myself which I gave up after having discovered the endless chain of Creative Cloud and AAM-Processes executing each other...
    What worked:
-Installing updates as another OSX user. (Which is cumbersome and to be honest I am unwilling to create a new profile and redoing the settings of all installed (especially non-Adobe) applications because of an Adobe bug...)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
