Undeploy a process?

Can anyone offer the steps to fully undeploy a BPM process? We have run into situations where we just want to fully get rid of all trace of a BPM process and start over. So, we are using EM, deleting the instances, undeploying the process and the associated UIs. But, still there are some remnants sometimes.... In the BPM Workspace I can still sometimes see the Application link to start it and/or the roles for that process in the Administration pane.

You are doing the right thing to undeploy. Anything leftover should be reported as an SR.

Did somebody face with this problem and can help me out?
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.3.0
    Thanks,

Thanks for your advise. I have visited your blog and tryed to undeploy my BPEL Process via <undeployBPELProcess> task. But I get: "failed to create task or type of type: undeployBPELProcess. Cause: The Name is undefined" error. So I guess I don't have a proper jar file.
I am very short on experience with Oracle SOA Suite, so I got stuck with this issue.

  • Unable to retire or undeploy a process

    Hello all,
I have a BPEL which use AQ adapter to consume a message from an Oracle queue, and then do more thing with the message. This process have been working for the last couple week, but then it started to have problem to consume message in the queue in the last couple days. It stopped to consume messages and I could find any error from the OPMN log.
I tried to turn the process off from the console, but not able to. I also tried to retire and undeploy the process from the console, but unable able to do it.
Any help would be greatly apricicated.
    thanks

    Hi tqtruong,
The best way to get rid of bpel process, if for some reason it doesnt get deployed is to shutdown the bpel process manager. Then delete jar file sitting at C:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\orabpel\domains\default\deploy if its a windows box.
The jar file has the same name as your bpel process. Once the jar gets deleted start the PM and the process should no more be displayed in the console.
If you dont have the luxury of shutting down the PM, you can still delete the jar file, but I would recommend shutting down the PM before you do that.

  • Undeploy some processes of a BPM project

There are about a hundred of processes in a BPM project (BPM studio 10.3.0). These processes are not processes and subProcesses.
This project has been deployed to BPM standalone 10g.
Can I just undeploy and delete some of the processes (not all of them) of this BPM project?

Yes you can partially undeploy a project from BPM Administrator console.
    - Login to the BPM administrator console
    - select projects from the left side menu
    - Click on "completely deployed" link againt the project you want to undeploy.
    - click on the "Modify" button at the bottom of the page
    - select undeploy only for the processes you want to undeploy and retain the other processes active.
    - submit and come back to the projects screen. You will see that the project as 'Partially deployed"

  • How to undeploy a NW BPM?

    Hi,
    i m using SAP PO 7.31 SP 09.
I would like to undeploy a process.
I deleted a product / process and recreated it with the same name. During deploying i get the error message, that the used interface is already used by another process. -> The once deployed process will not be overwritten but is anoying development. The error message is stating that either another interface should be used or the process should be undeployed.
The first possibility is not nice, because the mappings and configuration had to be changed. In addition the interface name would not match to the naming conventions. So i would appreciate to undeploy.
Does anybody know how to undeploy a process?
    /Udo

In your NWDS, go to "Undeploy" view. Select your BPM project here and double-click on it. Once it is visible in the Undeploy table on the right, click on the Undeploy icon (looks like a black ball).
Check the Infrastructure Console for the Undeploy progress.

  • SOA managed server crashes when invoking BPMN processes

    Hi All,
I have implemented a BPMN work flow and deployed to our SOA server.
When i access http://<host><Port>/bpm/workspace url, it responds very slowly and sometimes time outs occur.
and when i try to invoke BPNM instance soa_server crashes and I need to restart the server.
I have set following values in servers -> soa_server -> Server start -> Arguments section
    -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:CompileThreshold=8000 -
    XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=2024m
    Is it Correct?
Or is there any other place to set this in admin server??

    Options :
    1. Try with SOAPUI by using the endpoint.
    2. Undeploy the process and redeploy, then test it again.

  • Any API to get handle to Outbound BPEL process endpoint activation?

    Hi,
we are developing both inbound and outbound BPEL processes using a custom JCA 1.5 based adapter. For the inbound BPEL process deployment/undeployment, we have the ResourceAdapter's endpointActivate() endpointDeactivate() methods called in and so we can post process, like clean up endpoints when these methods get called. Is there somethign simillar that we can use as an API to get a handle to the outbound process endpoints deactivate/activate, so that we can clean up these too, or does the oracle adapter framework internally clean these up?
Also even though we undeploy all processes before stopping the adapter (from the bpel console), after that if we redeploy the adapter rar, from then on any new BPEL process deployment (through jdeveloper) always throws a "500 Internal Server Error". Only after restarting the SOA, then on any new deployments go through fine. This is a serious limitation for us.. Any idea why this is happening and how to resolve this?
    Thanks
    Pramodh

    Hi Pramodh,
    That's a nice requirement.
The inbound (ActivationSpec) properties can only be set dynamically (typically via the BPEL console) if their values are bound via property values defined in bpel.xml for the particular JCA Activation Agent in question. This is fundamentally as per the JCA 1.5 design where EndpointActivation (which receives an instance of ActivationSpec) takes place when the BPEL process starts up, i.e. only once. More often than not the BPEL process will have to be bounced (Off/On) for ActivationSpec attribute changes to take effect (thereby allowing the JCA 1.5 inbound message endpoint to be restarted/reinitialized). Some adapters do look dynamically for changes to bpel.xml bound values (subscribed to via the adapter framework) and will react appropriately without the need for bumping the process (e.g. adjusting a timeout or retryCount or other secondary attribute which doesn't change the first order attributes of the endpoint, such as e.g. the database host name etc). An example of an activation property which requires the adapter to restart is the JMS adapter MessageSelector property.
Having said that, please try using the activation agent properties set in the outbound PL and see if that works!
    Cheers
    A

  • Unable to Access BPEL console to undeploy

    Hi,
I have deployed a custom app into bpel and when I go to the Console to undeploye the process i keep gettign the following error:
    [javax.servlet.ServletException]
Timed out waiting for process load lock.
Failed to obtain load lock for process "xxxx"; timed out after 60 seconds.
is anyone able to tell me how to remove the process so that I can use the console again?
    Patrick.

Go to your Oracle_Home/Integration/Domains/Default/Deploy directory and remove the JAR file from the directory. Then stop OAS and delete the files from the TMP directory and restart OAS.

  • Problem with driver initialization and associated application

I am recertifying a application suite on Solaris 10. This product works well on Solaris 8 & 9. It contains a special psuedo/streams device driver that allows applications to open a port to a daemon that manages clean up of these applications. The daemon is started by init (in the inittab file) and initially also opens a port to the special device. Synchronization in the driver is handled mutexs. The current problem appears to be that the daemon is started by the init process before the initialization routine of the driver is called that initializes the mutex. The result of the problem is that one of the Interrupt service routines in the driver is called due to the open of the port from the daemon to the driver. The routine uses the sychronization mutex which seems not to be initialized which results in a system panic.
Has the flow of driver initialization vs application start via the init process changed in Solaris 10 vs earlier version of Solaris?

make sure all the settings are same as the working version and once undeploy the process then shut dowm the server and then startup -->then deploy the process and again shut down and start it.this should be the trick

  • Problem with tutorial; "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using "

I've got a rather new installation of Vista Business x64 on my developer rig, and last week I installed the new JDeveloper 11g version. The installation was all-inclusive, no customization on my end.
In addition I've got a test installation of an Oracle DB 11gR1 on an available server here.
To familiarize myself with the new JDeveloper I decided to spend some time with the JDeveloper 11g tutorials found here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/index.html.
I've started twice on the second tutorial, "Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces", and find myself repeatedly stuck at step 19 in section "Creating the Data Model and Testing it".
It seems impossible to deploy the application to the default application server. The server starts fine on its own, I can access it via the admin console on port 7001 and it looks good. However, when I try to run the HRFacadeBean funny things are happening, symptomized by the following error messages seen in the IDE log-area:
    The "Messages" pane displays:

I'm not that familiar with these things but it seems to me that there is an issue with port numbers here. The application seems to expect a app.server service at port 7101, but does'nt find one.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated?

    Jupp,
It fails in a similar way.
What I did was; create a simle 'Hello World' html file, saving it with the jsp extension. In Jdev11g i made a new application and an emtpy project, then loaded the jsp file and made it the default run-target. This compiles nicely.
When running the project it first attempts to start the WebLogicServer (WLS). After a few minutes it is started as seen in the "Running: DefaultServer" pane:

    DefaultServer started.
In the "Messages" pane, however, things are not looking so good:
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:20:49 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
But, of course, the server is actually running as I can access it via its Admin Console.
So, I try to run the project again, and this time the following is shown in the "Messages" pane:
    Compiling...
    Context: MakeProjectAndDependenciesCommand application=TestAppJsp.jws project=TestProjJsp.jpr
[7:26:39 PM] Successful compilation: 0 errors, 0 warnings.
[Application TestAppJsp is bound to Server Instance DefaultServer]
    [Starting Server Instance DefaultServer]
    #### Server Instance DefaultServer could not be started: Server Instance was terminated.
The "Running: DefaultServer" now comes up with:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
[waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
[Server Instance DefaultServer is shutting down.  All applications currently running will be terminated and undeployed.]
    Process exited.
The WLS is still running though as I can still access its adm console.
To me it seems that it is attempting to start a separate instance of the WLS for each run attempt, but then I could be wrong.....:(
Later I'll try to change the default WLS port from 7001 to 7101 as suggested in another port here.
I must admit that I'm a bit surprised that the JDev11g doesn't work fine at this very simple level when performing a default install.

  • Invoking a composite deployed on local install - SOA Suite

    Hi All,
Morning....need some help with this issue we are facing.
Currently have installed the SOA Suite 11g locally onto our windows machines , created one domain for the web logic server .have started the servers as well and able to login to the EM console (http://localhost:7001/em) & Admin Console (http://localhost:7001/console) successfully.
have deployed a bpel process as a composite from the front end using Deploy Applications option into the default SOA partition.
able to see the composite in the front end in the EM Console, with a valid Service End Point url & wsdl file location
The bpel process in this composite has a Receive activity where it gets the input payload and processes further
Now we are trying to trigger this composite from another application by using the END Point URL and and with the input as XML payload message. It is not able to invoke and getting java HTTP related error messages.
But if the same composite is deployed to SOA Suite Server on the AIX/Linux Install ( instead of local deployment ) and if we try to trigger this process from that same application it works fine..
    1. Now getting what could be the issue with the HTTP related errors we are getting & how this could be resolved.
2.Also when tried Testing the composite from the EM Console under the Test tab by selecting the option as XML View..it showed up the SOAP envelope and BODY related tags and within that there is one :
    <ns1:input></ns1:input> tag.
We have the input xml payload in the format as mentioned below:
    <transaction><transaction header><name>abcd</name></transaction header><transaction body><address1>123 street</address1><city>xyz</city></transaction body></transaction>
when we try to put this exactly within as below : it is erroring out with xpath errors ..
    <ns1:input><transaction><transaction header><name>abcd</name></transaction header><transaction body><address1>123 street</address1><city>xyz</city></transaction body></transaction></ns1:input>
Could someone please help us as to how we could test this and in exactly what format from the EM Console..how the input payload data should be added..
    Regards

    Options :
    1. Try with SOAPUI by using the endpoint.
    2. Undeploy the process and redeploy, then test it again.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Use access level in BPEL console

    Hello Everyone,
We started using BPEL (SOA Suite 10.1.3.3) for OTM to 11i integration. Currently, everyone has access to the BPEL console to monitor BPEL processes or to track errors, even in production. Now this is really scary as anyone could go in and mistakenly clear the instance archives or even undeploy a process. No one other than the Unix admin has admin privileges to any of our other middle-tier applications and this should not be any different. But we also need a way for analysts to view process progress and trouble-shoot issues.
Is there any way we could give specific users access to the BPEL domain with only read-only privileges? I read about changing the Bpel console servlets to do the task, but I am afraid, this might violate Oracle support contract. I am sure we are not the only one having this problem.
    Does anyone has any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Shaf

Not sure if that functionality is provided in 11g.
I'm not sure how much access you would want to give non-technical people to the console, all the information here requires a fair bit of training.
Oracle has human workflow and, bpel error frame work, which is deigned to notify and inform non-technical people of issues, etc. This means that you don't need to grant access to the consoles.
    cheers
    James
