  • HOW can I enter text using Japanese character sets?

    The "Text, Plates, Insets" section of the LOOKOUT(6.01) Help files states:
    "Click the » button to the right of the Text field to expand the field for multiple line entries. You can enter text using international character sets such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese."
    Can someone please explain HOW to do this? Note, I have NO problem inputting Hirigana, Katakana, and Kanji into MS WORD; the keyboard emulates the Japanese layout and characters (Romaji is default) and the IME works fine converting Romaji, and I can also select charcters directly from the IME Pad. I have tried several different fonts with success and am currently using MS UI Gothic.ttf as default. Again, everything is normal and working in a predictable manner within Word.
    I cannot get these texts into Lookout. I can't cut/paste from HTML pages or from text editors, even though both display properly. Within Lookout with JP selected as language/keyboard, when trying to type directly into the text field, the IME CORRECTLY displays Hirigana until <enter> is pressed, at which point all text reverts to question marks (?? ???? ? ?????). If I use the IME Pad, it does pretty much the same. I managed to get the "Yen" symbol to display, though, if that's relevant. As I said, font selected (in text/plate font options) is MS UI Gothic with Japanese as the selected script. Oddly enough, at this point the "sample" window is showing me the exact Hirigana character I want displayed in Lookout, but it won't. I've also tried staying in English and copying unicode characters from the Windows Character Map. Same results (Yen sign works, Hirigana WON'T).
    Help me!

  • How to remove underlining on text links in Muse...

    Hi,
    Anyone know how to remove the annoying underlining of text links in Muse. I have of course, styled my link to have no underline - which in Muse works, but doesn't once online.
    Even better - does anyone know how to create a hover style via Muse? I used to do it via Dreamweaver no problem - but haven't had any luck with Muse so far.
    And is it possible to style 2 text links within a sentence? It only seems to be able to style the whole sentence rather than the just the links
    If anyone out there can help?
    Laura

    Not to worry - worked it out!
    For anyone who doesn't know, go to File/Site Properties and click on the Text tab. Its all there!

  • Problem with italicizing/underlining/bolding text

    When I'm typing notes, press enter and attempt to start a new line with italicized/underlined/bolded text, it's very unreliable.  Sometimes it works, most times it does not.  The format tab in the bar at the top will briefly flash blue, but nothing happens.  I've dealt with the same problem in Pages, and in both iWork '09 and the latest version.  I always wind up having to type some text first, then go back and do whatever I want with the formatting, which is a significant waste of time and a major annoyance.  Am I doing something wrong or is this just a case of terrible software design on Apple's part?

  • How to get dotted underline in text (not solid) in Photoshop?

    I need to underline the text with dotted line not with solid underline. How?

    Not that I know. PS doesn't do customizable text decorations. Ironically even web browsers are more versatile in that regard...

  • I underlined some text in Mail and now can't stop underling additional text.  Any suggestions?

    Using Mail version 4.5, I underlined some text and now can't seem to stop underlining additional copy.  Any suggestions?

    Select the text you don't want underlined then click Command + U on your keyboard. When you start typing again, it shouldn't be underlined. You can access text formatting from the Mail menu bar "Format" ..

  • Double underline blue text

    Dear Friends,
    This time I have a similar problem. I am facing 1) double underline blue text 2) adds when I use google as shown in pic below and 3) on every click there open a new tab with some wired advertisement. Sometimes its so hard to work since every click on a website opens unwanted advertisement tab. this thing started when I download google chrome and Skype. I need your help plz guide. My mac's speed is also getting slower.
    Regards.

    There are a few things out there you may have downloaded & installed
    which could have caused this to occur; there are Adware products that
    can contaminate your browser and/or OS X function, to do that. And,
    there may be some Malware products that could cause it.

  • TouchUp: How to add an underline to text that is not underlined?

    The subject says it all, how do I use the TouchUp tool(s) to add an underline to text that is not underlined?

    There is an "underline" annotation available for the Comment & Markup toolbar.
    First, open the Comment & Markup toolbar.
    This will let you observe the addition of the Underline annotation.
    You want to access the "More Tools" dialog.
    There are various ways to get to it.
    --|  Place the mouse cursor in the tools icon 'ribbon' over in the empty space at the right.
         Right click for the context menu.  Select "More Tools".
    --| Select Tools > Customize Toolbars
    With the More Tools dialog presented, scroll down some to view the 'Comment & Markup Toolbar' choices.
    The default toolbar does not show:
    Underline Text Tool, Cross Out Text Took, Attach a File as a Comment, Record Audio Comment, and some others.
    So, select the Underline Text Tool.
    Close the dialog. The Underline Text Tool is now part of the Comment & Markup Toolbar.
    The toolbar selections, from "More Tools", is sticky.
    The Properties dialog for the Underline Text Tool permits configuration selections such as:
    – underline style of straight | squiggly
    – color
    – Opacity
    At the bottom of the tool's Properties dialog you can tick the selection "Make Properties Default".
    As with other annotations, there is a pop-up note available for entering information.
    Be well...

  • SMARTFORMS - underlining of text not possible ?

    hi there,
    i have created a form with SMARTFORM. there i have a text which i want to UNDERLINE ! this is not possible. i can "bold" the text, etc..... but not underline it.
    any ideas ?
    reg, Martin

    HI,
    if you want to put undeline,
    first you need to create character formate for that and then in character formate click check box under line
    and where we can also font ,..etc
    it will works
    and other wise
    You can have different font on the same line by defining a character format.
    For example B for bold text and U for Underline.
    In your SAPScript apply like this :
    <U>Underline Text</> <B>Bold Text</>
    Thanks and regards

    You are God!
    It worked!
    Thanks.
    I have a dumb basic question which is sort of related to your shambles comment, which I don't deny is true.
    I am confused about whether style.css files get affiliated with each separate HTML page or whether there is just one style.css file that is affiliated with all my HTML pages. If they are separate CSS files, how do I separate each style.css file?
    Best, P.

  • How to read the content of a text file (by character)?

    Guys,
    Good day!
    I'm back just need again your help. Is there anyone knows how to read the content of a text file not by line but by character.
    Please help me. Thank you so much in advance.

    Implementation:
    InputStreamReader
    An InputStreamReader is a bridge from byte streams to character streams: It reads bytes and decodes them into characters using a specified charset. The charset that it uses may be specified by name or may be given explicitly, or the platform's default charset may be accepted.

    Some additional comments:
    You really don't want to read any file one character at a time, because it is highly inefficient. More typically, you read the entire file into memory with one operation (or at least a large chunk, if the file is gigantic) and then do the rest of the operations in memory.  One easy way to analyze it one byte at a time would be to use "string to byte array" and then autoindex into a FOR loop, for example.
    Of course you could also read the file directly as a U8 array instead of a string.

  • Printing document with Notes/Comments and underlined/highlighted text

    Dear all,
    I have been reading a document and highlighted & underlined parts of it.
    In addition I also inserted notes.
    Now when trying to print the document with the "summarize comments function" (I translate this from the
    german version so there it might be called somewhat differently in english) in the print menue, I receive a the
    original document plus attached several pages including my notes (now numbered) PLUS entries for every line I highlighted, underlined etc.
    Evidently I only want the text of my comments, not empty entries for each line I have highlighted.
    To be clear, I would like to keep the text highlighted / underlined - but I don't need the
    entries for that in the appended section. A document of 18 pages otherwise suddently gets 48 pages...(with only
    a few added notes).
    I have to say I am somewhat puzzled how difficult it is to sort this out. Thought that must be
    something rather trival (or am I blind and make a silly mistake)?
    To make it more clear here screenshot from what I refer to
    Many thanks for any help.

    Dear Lori,
    many thanks for your swift response. Did I understand you correctly - there is no way to keep all the comments (underlined/highlighted/stick notes) in the text and only inlcude the content of the sticky notes at the end of the document? If I filter, as suggested by you, then the underlined/highlighted parts will not show up in the appended pages (that's good) - but they are also not longer visible in the main text (that's bad...).
    I would have thought what I am trying is rather ordinary - Highlighting/underlining text and adding comments. And when I print the document, i would like to get the edited text plus the content of the comments (sticky notes). (And not an empty entry for all highlighted/underlined words). I am somewhat puzzled.
    Many thanks again.

  • PDF forms - underlined variable text

    Hello Everyone,
    I am trying to create a PDF form with variable text fields in Acrobat 9 Pro and I see there are very limited possibilities in the text formatting. I can specify font, size, color, border, but there is missing any option how to switch on the underlining of the text. Is there any way how to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance for any hint.
    Regards,
    Jan

    You can add some JavaScript to your script that imports the data from the database and format the inserted text by using the span object to apply the underline property. The following ecample is from the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference.
    Example
    Write rich text to a rich text field using various properties. See the Field object
    richValue property for more details and examples.
    var f = this.getField("myRichField");
    // Create an array to hold the Span objects
    var spans = new Array();
    // Each Span object is an object, so we must create one
    spans[0] = new Object();
    spans[0].alignment = "center";
    spans[0].text = "The answer is x";
    spans[1] = new Object();
    spans[1].text = "2/3";
    spans[1].superscript = true;
    spans[2] = new Object();
    spans[2].superscript = false;
    spans[2].text = ". ";
    spans[3] = new Object();
    spans[3].underline = true;
    spans[3].text = "Did you get it right?";
    spans[3].fontStyle = "italic";
    spans[3].textColor = color.red;
    // Now assign our array of Span objects to the field using // field.richValue
    f.richValue = spans;
