Unexpected Error creating Workspace

I've tried to create a new Workspace. I performed the following steps:
- Colaboration Suite Portal
- Oracle Files
- My Workspaces
- Add Workspace
- Create an new Workspace (OK)
- Workspace name "blahblah" (Next)
- Next (assign no extra users)
- Finish
After about 2 minutes I get the message:
"An Unexpected Error has occurred. Please report it with as much detail as possible. Please include a description of the operation you were performing and the steps to recreate it."
Creating previous Workspaces went perfectly ok.
What could cause the problem and are the places to look for more information? (which log-files?)
Tia for the replies.

The fact that you are able to create a workspace as the superuser indicates that everything is functioning ok.
However, with other users it fails. That indicates a misconfiguration of user rights. Is that configured? (has the user create workspace priviledges?)
Do you get the same error message? (what's in the source of the html page? Underwater gives more info about the error)

  • I get "An unexpected error has occurred" whenever I try to create item in a list or view site permission page

I am working a SharePoint site with a custom masterpage and css. Everything displays just fine and the site functions with several subsites, and so forth. I have double-checked to ensure that important content placeholders were on the new masterpage, even
if they were "hidden" from view.
However, a new issue came up this week: I was moved from a contributor to a designer list so that I could convert word files in a doc library in web pages. When that change happened, I lost the ability to select "add new items" to lists or add
events to calendars. [not sure if causation, or just correlation] On a similar note, no one--not even those with higher permissions levels than me---can access the "site permissions" page in browser now (not sure if this coincides with my issue over
the lists/calendars, but in both cases the notification "an unexpected error has occurred" comes up).
I temporarily switched a subsite to the default masterpage, and lists and site permissions page functioned fine--no error. Therefore, it appears as though something in the custom masterpage (or embedded css?) is causing this error to come up. But what could
    it be?
I ran across a forum question that mentioned a bug related to alternative css:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/53151269-dd61-4c71-8263-c1880450a1bb/sharepoint-2010-unable-to-access-site-settings-site-permissions-from-a-site-created-from-a-template Solutions
said to check the correlation ID and use powershell. The guy in my department who checked the correlation ID said that nothing useful came up, and I got the impression that the powershell solution didn't work out for him either (I don't work on that side of
things; I am on the design side).
So, does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Again, I have checked and double-checked those content placeholders in my custom masterpage - they are all there. I built the site using one of Randy Drisgill's masterpage templates.
Up until this point, I haven't had any issues with the template, my custom code, etc.

I am having the same issue, was this ever resolved?

  • "An unexpected error occurred while creating a custom installer."

    All;
I—and I've seen several others in older posts—have been reported received the error "An unexpected error occurred while creating a custom installer" while attampting to build a customer ARD client installer.  My guess is that this is do to a issue related to 10.8.X (10.8.4, in my case) based console Mac but I cannot confirm this. I have verified that there are no outstanding OS, client or application updates or hot fixes, as well.
Has anyone built an successful installer from Mountain Lion-installed Mac?  Is there any know workarounds?
Thanks in advance, for any help.

    Have the exact same problem.
    iMac running 10.8.4
Got through the steps of creating a custom client installer.
if I choose not to customize and just save an installer I don't get the error but it creates a file of Zero bytes in size.
If I chose to configure, when I try to save I get:
An unexpected error occurred while creating a custom installer. Please try again....
    Console log reports:

I have tried to save this in several location, with no effect on the error or the information logged, with the exception of the name of the temp directory that DOES contains the file (zero bytes):

  • Error Creating VM on 2011 iMac - The Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service encountered an unexpected error: The remote procedure call failed. (0x800706BE).

I am running Hyper-V in Windows 8.1 on a late 2011 27 inch iMac. Whenever I try to create a virtual machine I get the error below and Windows warns that it will restart in 1 minute. I tried a clean install of Windows, but my PC still crashes ever

I just started a free trial of the Adobe XI product that allows me to create an editable PDF. I'm done creating the form and ready to export it. When I click Export PDF from the File menu, it says Adobe encountered an unexpected error. What am I doing wrong?

Good to know  — there is no such application as "Adobe XI".
"Adobe" is the name of the company.
"XI" is indicative of the use of either Acrobat XI or Reader XI.
Neither Acrobat XI Pro (for which Adobe provides a free, fully functional 30-day trial) nor Adobe Reader XI (the free to download and use PDF viewer that Adobe provides) have  an "Export PDF" entry under "File".
"Export PDF" only is present in Adobe Reader XI over on the right on the "Tools" panel.
The "Tools" panel provides a way for a user of Adobe Reader XI to connect to various By Subscription online services (gotta pay eh).
Export PDF is one of these. A subscription lets you send a PDF file to the online internet service (aka "cloud" service). The service then exports to a supported file format (Word / Excel / ...) and the user selects / directs where the output file is to be saved on the user's local machine.
Of course to use any of the online subscription services one must have an active (paid up in full) subscription to the service.
So ---- As described the puzzle pieces don't fit eh.
What specific Adobe (the company) applications are you using?
Acrobat XI Pro? Adobe Reader XI? Both?
    Be well....

  • Unexpected error when trying to create postcard?

I'm trying to create a postcard to send to my grandchild. It keeps asking me to set up an account and then tells me an unexpected error has occurred. I thought I had set up an acct. yesterday, but it keeps asking me to create an account. Has anyone had this problem? It shouldn't be this hard. Thank you!

    Marcia:
Click on the Store button at the top of this page and then click on the My Account link near the top of the next page. Once there check all of your account information, reset some just so that it will be resaved, make sure 1-click ordering is activated, confirm your credit card expiration date (that caught me a while back) and save the changes. Then try again.

  • Cannot open .odc files created by another user - Unexpected error

I have exported an .odc file from Excel into a shared Data Connection Library. The connection file works fine for myself and the data refreshes, however when another user tries to either open the .odc file direct from the Library or refresh
the data from the excel file they receive an error.
I have checked the Sharepoint permissions and all the users attempting to access the connection file have the same as myself. The library has also been saved as a Trusted Location by each user and the Excel Services Authentication when the .odc
file was created was set as the standard Windows Authentication.
I asked a user to create another .odc file for the same data and they were able to save this into the connection library. However the same error occurs when I try to access this new file. The error I recieve is 'An unexpected error has occured. Changes to
your data cannot be saved'. I can open the connection files that I have created but not ones that others have.
I am only an end user so I don't have access to Central Administraion to configure the Unattended Account in the Excel Service Administration page as suggested in another post.
So is there any other way around this issue?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
An ODC file is just a txt file and can be opened with notepad to edit. A Data Connection Library needs to be Trusted via Central Administration, Manage Service Applications, Excel Services Application, Trusted Data Connection Libraries, Click Add Trusted
Data Connection Library. However, you should still be able to  open someone else's ODC file unless its been saved as a draft?

Unexpected Error - An unexpected error occurred: Keyset does not exist (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80090016)
Any ideas? Are there any Extended logs created by Wizard activity? Windows Application Eventlog Shows nothing!

    Hi,
Just a gut feel. The issue may lie within IIS. I base this upon the fact that your database was created. The second part, the web configuration  is related to IIS. SQL Server 2012 should be set up with IIS7 or better still IIS8.
    This said..
Is IIS installed correctly? You can always de-install it and re-install it via the programs / windows features option off of the control panel.
Out of curiosity, did you by any chance have a previous 'bad install' of MDS. If so this may be a registry issue. When one starts talking 'Keyset', the registry comes to mind. A orphan keyset which is being called.
Also remember that in setting up the web application, that the installation will ask you for a User ID and password. If you are like us, our passwords change each 6 weeks and this create problems with bringing up the Master Data Manager AFTER a password
change. In fact I have often resorted to creating a 'new web site' with each password change BEFORE I decided to opt for using a Process ID, with an non expiring password to do your web configuration.
I do not know if I have answered your question, just a gut feel. Please do let us know if the steps that I mentioned resolve your issue.
    Sincerest regards

  • Creating custom LAF - failing with 'unexpected error'

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom LAF based on the simple.desktop. I follow the steps for 'Create Look and Feel' and enter -
    Name: test-desktop
    Family: test
    Description: Test LAF
    Base Look and Feel: simple.desktop
click Next and the 'Customise Styles and Icons' page is displayed.
When I try and make any changes, or just go straight through to the 'Submit' I get an Error Page. Text is '
You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance. '
Can anybody suggest what might be going wrong?
    Thanks,

My view is yes as I need the custom LAF for my OA Framework pages and I couldn't see a more appropriate forum.
If there is one, please suggest.
    Thanks,

You didn't ask a question in your post, but I assume you have one and it is "what do I do about this error?"
Looks like you have a memory access problem in nuance-core.dll, specifically in
    nuance.core.util.NuanceConfig._jni_buildFromCommandLine(Native Method)
You may need to examine thoroughly what this code does, specifically when it is running code within 'string-funcs.cpp'. Based on the filename the JVM associated with this error, I would guess it's something like a pointer or array index bug.

  • Workspace : Unexpected error during interactive component execution

    Hi !
During execution, we have random events where this error appears. It appears for different field names and objects. The error code is displayed in the workspace and this is an excerpt of the workspace log.
We have 2 workspaces using websphere. We noticed that in the past, a few times this was solved by synchronizing the nodes. I does not get fixed like that anymore.
Any clues? this same deployed application worked in the past, it was not updated.
    THANKS,
    Regards,
    Matias

I'm have trouble with a new install of Tiger 10.4. In the very beginning after entering my location and info, the next step is to create a user account. This is the furthest I get. It says Unexpected error has occured. ( Unable to create standard user) The only option is to select quit and it first boot up steps start all over again. Any info would help.
    Thanks

Hi, I think you may need to start over.
      1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
       2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
       3. Click the Erase tab.
       4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
       5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
       6. Highlight the drive, select Partition Tab, then Format type... MacOS Extended Journalled, select the Security Options button, choose Zero Out Data, Erase... after completion hopefully you'll be able to install.
