Unicode Type Conversion Error
Hi Friend,
I am working in UNICODE project,i need one help,
I have one error .
Actually, im using one structure(Z0028) and passing values to internal table.
At that time i shows one error.
Actually,this error is due to type conversion problem.
In that structure,i ve one packed datatype ,so, if i select
unicode check it shows error.
I will sent example prg and error also.
Please give some solution to slove.

DataAccessException Type conversion error complex type class
Hello,
We meet some trouble randomly wrbtr field, we have suspected the jco cache, but after a reboot the problem still occurs.
We currently use this field on others webdynpro applications.
While execute the message displays :
DataAccessException : Type conversion error, field wrbtr complex type class dop.model.Zst_Pp_liste
We have a Z customize structure, which contains a zone "WAERS", used as reference field for wrbtr
Anyone has an idea to look for ?Are you sure you have posted this question in the correct forum? I don't see how this is Web Dynpro ABAP related. You refer to JCo cache and Java style class names. I think perhaps you actually should have posted this question in the Web Dynpro Java forum?

Re: Module Pool Type Conversion Error.
Hi,
I have used the screen fields
quantity parameter of type imseg-erfmg
pmeins parameter of type imseg-erfme.
while conversion.. i am passing the value
lbbes-erfmg to quantity
and lbbes-erfme to pmeins
when the conversion is done the lbbes-erfmg has negative value and when fed into the screen
it creates dump.
can anyone help me.
Thanks & Regards
Guhapriyan Subrahmanyamhi,
We have the specify the reference field for the field in table control. Otherwise, we get a short dump showing an error conv_to_number.
To avoid this, we need to set the reference field in the properties of the field in table control.
Double click on the field of table control, we get the properties window opened, in it specify the reference field there.
There is an other simple way to avoid this dump. Select the field of the table contorl and in the TEXT inputbox which exists on the top right of the window, set last letter as _______V But in this case, we get the values justified to the right.

Henrik HviidHi Volker,
Thank you very much. Stupid error :-).
I also did step 2 with fixr3owns yesterday with SAPINST and then it worked. I got to step 3 "iSeries Installation Step", but got an error in SAPINST when "Creating infrastructure for SAP system BND". I logged off SAPINST, patched CRTR3SYS and started SAPINST again and then got the error in step 2 wirh fixr3owns.
I´m now past step 2 and in step 3 "iSeries Installation Step". And I get the same error as I got yesterday...

I recently subscribed to Adobe ExportPDF and tried to convert a PDF file to MS Word. So far, after many tries, I get soe type of error and the conversion fails. Please advise?
Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,

Hello everyone,
I´m working with a subroutine for testing Unicode in our programs. In UTF-8 there´s no problem. Then I switched the keyboard, language and location in my computer´s settings to czech and try to upload czech texts to UNIX directory like this:
OPEN DATASET fileunix FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING NON-UNICODE
MESSAGE msg_open REPLACEMENT CHARACTER '?' IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS.
Some characters are not correctly interpreted and the system triggers an exception if I erase the addition IGNORING CONVERSION ERRORS. If I don´t, then the code looks like this:
+denní p
?ehled regionálních zpráv z kuchyn? iDNES
30 nejaktuáln?j?ích sportovních novinek
30 posledních událostí ze sv?ta showbusinessu
detailní mapa Prahy v?etn? mo?nosti vyhledávání+
so what´s the idea here ?? how come can the system not read those characters ?? system is MySAP 2005 and unicode-enabled.Hi Jorge,
As you are saying that system is MySAP 2005 and unicode-enabled, try this
OPEN DATASET fileunix FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
TRANSFER text TO fileunix.
If you open your text file with ENCODING DEFAULT, the text format used for reading or writing data will be platform dependent:
-->In an non-Unicode system, data will be written in non-Unicode format
-->In a Unicode-system, data will be written in Unicode format UTF-8
Hope this will help you.
Thanks,

however when I run the bulk load utility I get the error

the bulk insert statement is as follows
=========================================
BULK INSERT Temp
FROM '<file name>' WITH
FIELDTERMINATOR = ','
, KEEPNULLS
==========================================
Does anybody know what is happening and what needs to be done ?
PLEASE HELP
Thanks in advance
VikramTo load that file with BULK INSERT, use this format file:
9.0
4
1 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\"" 0 "" ""
2 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\"" 1 col1 Latin1_General_CI_AS
3 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\",\"" 2 col2 Latin1_General_CI_AS
4 SQLCHAR 0 0 "\"\r\n" 3 col3 Latin1_General_CI_AS
Note that the format file defines four fields while the fileonly seems to have three. The format file defines an empty field before the first quote.
Or, since you already have a .NET program, use a stored procedure with table-valued parameter instead. I have an example of how to do this here:

Conversion error with non-primitive types
I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this problem or has a potential solution.
The problem, in a nutshell:
I have beans that use non-primitive types (Float instead of float) in the getters and setters. However I keep getting conversion error problems. If I switch to primitive types, I don't get conversion errors. The built-in FloatConverter says (in the documentation at least) that it supports both primitives and boxed types. This was all working in EA4, though. I am discovering this problem as I migrate from EA4 to 1.0.
The code is pretty straightforward:
public class Bean implements Serializable {
public float getProp() {...}
public void setProp(float) {...}
public Float getPropOld() {...}
public void setPropOld(Float) {...}
<!-- works -->
<h:inputText id="floatinput" value="#{BeanInstance.prop}"/>
<!-- doesn't work -->
<h:inputText id="floatinputold" value="#{BeanInstance.propOld}"/>
Any ideas? I have tried explicitly calling the FloatConverter but that gave the same problems.Okay, I figured out my problem.
The JSF spec implies that f:convertNumber may be used inside an h:inputText tag. The early versions of Core JSF go further and show f:convertNumber being used inside an h:inputText tag in one of the examples. (Chapter 7, conversions).
However, this has been the source of my problem. When using f:convertNumber, the converter would automatically determine the data type without regard to the data type in the backing bean. Hence, it would try to pass Longs or Doubles to the bean instead of Floats.
I believe this may be an issue in the 1.0 FR release. -

How to custom a conversion error in JSF page in JDeveloper
According to the book "Core JavaServer Faces" p213 (fifth edition), if I add the following line to messages.properties file, and specifiy it in the faces-config.xml and .jsp file, then the displayed conversion error message should be my tailored one instead of the default. However, I still get the default error message. Besides, I didn't find "CONVERSION" variable in UIInput class. Is the book wrong? And what's the correct way?
javax.faces.component.UIInput.CONVERSION=Please correct your inputI didn't choose any special in JDeveloper IDE. I just selected "new" to create a file called "message.properties" and put the line there. I didn't specify converters excepts declaring the type in the Jave Beans. I guess the converting is done by the JSF framework automatically. It must be a JSF converter since I created the page as a JSF page.

Error while impdp: ORA-02374: conversion error loading table
Hi,
I am trying to convert the character set from WE8ISO8859P1 to AL32UTF8 using expdp/impdp. for this I first convert WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN1252 in source DB to get rid of “lossy” data. I created new database(target) with character set AL32UTF8 and nls_length_semantics = ’CHAR’ and created all the tablespaces as in source DB with auoexend on. I took full export (expdp) of source DB excluding TABLESPACE,STATISTICS,INDEX,CONSTRAINT,REF_CONSTRAINT and imported using impdp to target DB. I found below error in the import log file:
ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "SCTCVT"."SPRADDR_CVT"
ORA-26093: input data column size (44) exceeds the maximum input size (40)
ORA-02372: data for row: CONVERT_STREET_LINE1 : 0X'20202020202020202020202020202020202020202020202020'
I checked with select query on both DBs with below results.
source DB:
04:58:42 SQL> select count(*) from "SCTCVT"."SPRADDR_CVT";
COUNT(*)
74553
target DB:
04:59:24 SQL> select count(*) from "SCTCVT"."SPRADDR_CVT";
COUNT(*)
74552
please suggest me a solution to this.
Thanks and Regards.

10.4.7 Breaks BBC Weather Widget
Like it says. Under 10.4.7 the BBC Weather Widget 0.9.5 still shows today's weather but loses the forecast for the following four days. Just hoping that somebody will notice and pass the word to the developer, as it was a nice widget and I'll miss it
