Why am I getting overprinting of text with acrobat v10.1.4/windows7?

Since upgrading to acrobat 10.1.4 the printed pages have sections of text overprinted with other text; this happens on both my printers regardless of the source of the pdf. It did not happen before the upgrade and does not happen when I print with a non-adobe pdf creator/reader

Firefox uses the "chrome" protocol to access its own internal files and also access files from extensions, so that has nothing to do with Google Chrome.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The question mark in the box, if it looks like this: means that safari cannot find the linked image. On windows machines, this would be the equivilant of the small "page-with-a-red-X" logo that appears in the same scenario. Check the reference to the image and make sure that the image is in the correct location, and is accessable by the reference.

It's usually some graphics element that the iPad can't handle. Maybe it's a flash image, maybe it has another protocol that the iPad just can't display. NO way to say for sure without viewing the same page on a computer then checking the file type.

Why cant I get on the internet with my 3gs?

I was using a samsung focus windows 7 phone with my simcard then my friend upgraded to an iphone 4 and I got his old 3gs to get away from the horror that is the windows phone. Now I cant get on the internet with the phone unless im on wifi but I can still make phonecalls and text with the phone. Do I have to call apple to activate with my sim or something? I was under the impression it would just work?

The lock icon is the screen rotation lock. It has nothing to do with this.
Did you inform AT&T that you have upgraded to an iPhone? The data plan must be provisioned specifically for an iPhone in order to work correctly.
If all you did was take your old sim and pop it in an iPhone, it's not going to work.

Mac computers do not have any means of texting.
As for the iPad, you can NOT text anyone in the world. You can only text people who are enrolled in iMessage, since iMessage is the only way to text on the iPad.

Why does Firefox try to open PDF with Acrobat 8 when I have Properties set to use Reader 9.1?

If I click a link to a PDF from Firefox 3.6.10 it tries to open it with Acrobat 8 and fails, while if I double-click in a folder it correctly opens with Reader 9.1
If I try to open with Acrobat 8 from folder it won't work either, but why doesn't Firefox use the default program?

Go to Tools|Options|Applications. The first 4 entries relate to Adobe. Make sure that the association is for your 9.1 version. If it's not, click the association that is showing. You will get a downward pointing triangle at the right. Click on it and see if 9.1 is listed. If so, select it. Do the same for the other Adobe items.
You might also want to check "Folder Options" in the Windows Control Panel. In the "File Types" tab you will find all of the file extensions and the programs they are associated with. Scroll down to the PDF extension and insure it's associated with an "Adobe Acrobat Document. If not, click on the <change> button and find adobe in the program list.
Just to let you know, Adobe Reader is now up to version 9.4. You can go to Adobe's website to download the latest.

Dee, welcome to the forum.
I am sorry to say, if your son did a destructive Recovery, your personal data has been deleted. You can not get it back. This is why we stress doing frequent backups. If it was a non-destructive Recovery, your data should be available. I suggest checking all folders on the hard drive.
Also, the value-added software that came with the computer may not be available on the Recovery discs. The programs that you installed will have to be reinstalled.

After updating to Firefox 33.0.3 why am I getting Untrusted Connection Errors with Yahoo and Amazon?

I have updated to Firefox 33.0.3 and now I am getting untrusted connection errors when trying to go to Yahoo.com and Amazon.com this happens with both http and https. My time is in sync. I tried deleting the cert8.db file.
I have looked at other solutions and they have not worked. These sites were working fine on the previous version for me but now with this new update they are not working. Why hasn't Mozilla fixed this already?

Yes I have tried the steps above. For example, When I try to get to Yahoo web site, I get this:

What Should I Do?

www.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
I do not have the option to do an exception because I can only click on the Technical Details and the Get me Out of Here button.
As I've said in my previous post, I have deleted the cert8.db file, my clock is in sync, and I have tried to do the other solutions but they have not worked.

Why do I get a Default text message?

I have created a book using iPhoto.
When I click on "Buy Book" is get the following message:
"Your book appears to have default text that has not yet been edited.
Printed Books will not included this text"
I do not want to order book if it returns with missing text. Can anyone help solve this problem?

the message means that one one/some of your pages you did not change the default text that iPhoto had there (placeholder text so you know where you could add text).
go through all your pages where there is text and make sure you added your own. iPhoto is also telling you that if you did not change the default text to your own, then you don't have to worry because the default text will not be printed in your book.

Magic Bullet Looks in FCP - Why do I get a Green Checkerboard with Red X?

This is probably really simple, but....
When I drag the MB LOOKS effect into the viewer (or the clip in the sequence) it immediately produces a bright green checkerboard with a red X from corner to corner. It also appears in the Canvas.
What is this? Is it a mask? I can't edit with it, and i need to get this going.
The version of MB I'm using is a trial version.
Any thoughts?

Why can't i send group texts with iphone 4s?

I've had my new iphone 4s for a few days and love it, but it won't let me send texts to more than one person at a time. I can send individual texts just fine. It will let me add the recipients and compose it but when i send, the send progress bar gets almost to the end and then stalls for about 1 min, then i get the red exclamation point and the option to retry which i do but it never works. the group message option is set to ON but still it doesn't work. Anyone else having this problem?

Why do I get Flicker on screen with Linux Standalone Flash Player ?

I have a problem with the standalone Linux Flash player. The thing is that when I have a video playing in background and over it I make some tweens, it flickers all the time and it is an annoying flicker. It happens only on Linux Flash Player (it works on Windows Flash Player). The flicker appears when I have a video on background, only when the tween is made and on the portion of the screen where the tween is made. I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed and the latest version of standalone Flash Player (from 2/24/09). I've tried this on several LCD and on all it does the same. My video card has the Intel G31 Express Chipset (the drivers for the video card are the one from Ubuntu). I have generated the swf file from Flash CS3. Any help would be appreciated. Why am I getting an intermittent buzz with preamp and studio monitors?

I've just gotten rid of my desktop computer speakers which plug into the mini-headphone audio out on my Macbook Pro (i7, 2.66, mid 2010). Instead, I've connected via firewire 800 to an older 8 ch Presonus Firestudio Project preamp, and have connected a new pair Fostex powered studio monitors to that for my audio (and scratch recording). When I first start playing music in iTunes it all sounds great. But after a while, I'l start to get these periodic loud electronic buzzes. It's not just in the background, it actually will cut off the song to make the loud sound for a brief second. Over time it will become more frequent, and at one point it got to the point that it was just a constant buzz, no audio at all. Unplugging firewire stops it. Since there are a number of components, I'm not sure what is causing the problem. Can anyone help?

The update didn't apply correctly, which will be typically due to an interuption within your setup. You will have to connect to iTunes via micro usb to restore.
