I am using JMF library in NetBeans...
so i write my program and try to run it...the things goes well
so i try to open a media file, which is of type MPG and AVI, but the output is :

for more information, i have downloaded the cross-platform zip file and use the provided jar as my library to develop the application.
however, i have not install the Windows Performance pack as some problem happen when i try to install it...

How can I resolve an ongoing slow broadband(0.07 M...

I have had problems with my Broadband speed since beginning of June- it has been steadily getting slower until 1st July when it was 0.07 Mbps and is n ow virtually unusable. I reported it to BT on the 1st or 2nd and had to undertake various tests at home, new filter, unscrewing the phone socket etc. I was told it was a problem with the server, would be sorted in a week, that I would get a months refund and that I would be contacted on 8th before 12.00 to check all was well. Nothing happened. I called BT again, on the 8th, going through the lengthy process of selecting the right option and had to repeat the issues all over again, including the testing at home, even though I said I had done this a week ago and was told that it would be reported and sorted within 10 days. I sent an email on 26th July advising there was no change and I had checked the online fault status which just said a fault had been reported and was being investigated. I received a call from BT following this email, and was again asked to do the same tests. I was then advoised there was too high a noise level on the line, and that it would take 10 days to sort out, but I could call back if it was no better after that. I said this was ridiculous as I had already been waiting for almost a month and I asked the operative to call me back-he agreed to do so after 2 days. Yet again, no call back! on 29th July, I called again and was yet again asked to do the same tests at home. This tme I was advised it was a problem with the Hub, that I would need a new one but that I would not be able to use my mobile broadband with it. This would take 3 working days to arrive.I then asked who I could make a complaint too and was told the supervisor was busy, but the problem would be sorted out effectively shutting that avaneue too. I am not convinced the Hub is the problem as the speed did pick up to 1.45 Mbps for a day after the call on the 26th and the techincal team just go through the same process each time. Meanwhile I am asked to be patient and this unidentified problem will be solved! I need access to the internet for my studies and find I cannot access the sites I need as it just keeps trying to download then times out. Any help would be appreciated! Trudy

It sounds to me that you have a low profile, with your stats we can see if you've been having disconnections which makes the exchange raise your Noise Margin to try and increase your stabibility, but at a cost of speed, it may have been that your sync speed has recovereed, but not your IP Profile.
Here are some helpful (I actually did find them helpful!) tips from BT: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/35079 up to you whether you want to read those tips, because I did actually find them helpful.
Can you comfirm that you have no noise on the line. Really a test by dialling 17070 and pressing option 2 for the quiet line test should be completed in the Master Socket with no other devices connected to the line. ANd also do you have a master socket with a split faceplate that you can unscrew the bottom half, if so behind there is a hidden 'test socket', it disconnects all your internal wiring so just to make sure its not a fault inside your premises.

Make sure you perform the Reset correctly:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

First Impressions of 875P Neo FSI2R

Hello All, first off i'd like to make some comments about this board.
My Abit IC7-G needed to be returned, so i did a little research on a replacement as the aforementioned board has its quirks, ( Only wished i'd found these forums before i'd purchased. ) so i decided on the 875P Neo FSI2R as it was the closest to my previous setup.
Now this board is really pissing me off , doesnt MSI have any quality control ?
1. How can my WD Raptors work fine on the ABIT board using ICH5R , but the MSI have these damn problems ?
2. The voltages are far from stable , i set 1.60 in bios and it varies from 1.52 - 1.62
3. I hope the person responsible for the IDE LED not working on SATA has been taken out and dealt with (THIS IS JUST LAZINESS ON MSI's PART)
4. this board is much slower than the IC7-G
5. Its a real shame , i cant use this board i will really miss those northbridge lights.
6. i have my doubts as to if these problems can be fixed with a bios upgrade so reluctanly i am returning this board for something else ... any suggestions ?

As far as the problems with the Raptors on the ICH5R I'm afraid I don't have a definitive answer. Only a few ideas that might help. I have had my Seagate 7200.7 drives connected to it as Raid/non-Raid a few times with no problems. Generally unless I'm playing around I keep them on the Promise controller for better performance(no PCI cards).
1. I'm not sure how old your Raptors are but the first bunch are known to have had trouble with some motherboards. If you look under the drive at the IDE-SATA bridge chip there is a number on the chip that has the letters "BxP" in it where x is a number probably below 6. Apparently the B3P's and below cause problems in many cases and the B4P's in less cases as well. B5P and up is supposed to be good. There is no fix that I'm aware of. At the very least I would run the WD drive diagnose utility to check for problems.
2. Make sure the cables are properly secured and not overly bent. No hard 90 degree angles with serial cables.
3. Perhaps a conflict with other devices. Make sure the "APIC...IRQ" setting is enabled in the Bios to free up more IRQ's in XP. You can also disable serial ports in the Bios (super I/O config I think) for more IRQ's if you're not using them.
4. Raid driver problem. Check the version of the Intel Raid Bios and make sure the drivers used are same or newer. They might have used an old version on the floppy that came with motherboard.
It sounds like you know what you're doing but try scrolling through the Intel portion of the Raid Guide and see if you missed anything. If you're going to try configuring the Raid again, why not enable Raid in the Bios and install Raid drivers during the Windows install but only on 1 drive. Run with 1 drive for a while and see if the corruption occurs. If not, migrate to Raid0 with the second drive as described in the Raid guide. Sometimes just installing something in a different way will solve an unidentified problem.
Sorry I can't come up with something more definite. I just haven't experienced anything like the problem you're having. You're not booting 2 different OS's from that drive are you?

Hi all.
I just purchased a second WD MyBook EHD to backup a previous one with some unidentified problems with my iPhoto Library. I was told I should backup and erase.

Both HDs have a single partition each, none of them is bootable (just planned both to be big storage devices), I connected the new drive to the old one via FireWire (daisy-chained, I think it's called), and I'm ready to perform a full backup/clone of my original EHD using SuperDuper!
Is there any other consideration before that? Any?

Cannot enter Windows firewall settings

If you have the APC service loaded on your system, there is a flaw in which the JRE
certificate embedded. If you will disable the APC service and reboot the notebook, the firewall settings should come back and the systems will continue to work.
APC recommends updating the software version of their product to the

Failure of Oracle Forms on IE6; html security breech

I am now ready to chunk Oracle and Microsoft out the window never to return. I will owe student loans for technology I can't get to work!! Microsoft is blaming Oracle and Sun Java. Oracle provides no help at all couse its a Microsoft problem.
IE6 aborts for an unidentified problem each time I try to run a module using Oracle's form builder. If I try to run it again it converts to an html file that publishes my database name, userid and password on the web. So much for security. I have uninstalled and reinstalled jinitiator so many times trying to get the form to run on application server it stopped working alltogether. I have tried mapping the jinit on install to every possible conceivable file and it still doesn't work. i.e. c:\oracle; c:\java; d:\oracle; d:\devsuite; indiviudally and all at once, NOTHING!!
If an oracle product cannot read and map to another oracle product could someone please give me the name of a non-Microsoft/non_Oracle product that works? I downloaded Mozilla and netscape trying to get something that works. They worked until I shut down and then signed back in. Back to the same. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Developer Suite until I hate it.
And yes, I have reviewed the installation and post installation guide.

You don't mention any Forms version. If you say that "microsoft is blaming Oracle and Oracle is blaming Sun" - who did you talk to? Its easy to say that both companies don't feel responsible without a proof. Did you file a service request with customer support ? If yes, what is the Service Request number, if not why not ?

Are you running this from Forms builder, or from Oracle Application Server in production?
If you run version 9i and above then the password is not contained at all. However, the password is contained when running it from the Forms builder. This has been changed in Forms 9.0.4 (aka 10g). However, Forms applications that run from Forms builder are not really exposed on the web but locally to the developer running it.

I had just built myself a new system and at first I had a unidentified problem that was not allowing me to even post.
I managed to acquire a motherboard speaker and found the problem to be a faulty memory stick. However, that has not been the end of it.
Once everything was up and running and all drivers up to date I was experiencing problems in games (WOT & Warthunder) where my FPS would drop suddenly from around 70-80 to 3-10. Sometimes this would last until I rebooted the PC, but sometimes it would last only for 10-20 seconds and continue to go up and down. I would also get the occasional random crash. When I monitored the GPU, using Catalyst, I could see the GPU activity would be 97-99% when the FPS dropped. Temps were fine. At first I thought it may be not getting enough power. Originally I had my PSU supplying the XFX HD 7850 DD card from the non modular cable (it is split to have two PCIE connectors). So, I tried different combinations of powering the GPU (both 6 pin from modular cable & 1 from modular & 1 from wired), but I was still getting problems. I had this card in my old pc, though it was in a PCIE 2.0 slot, and it worked ok, but if I put the card in the PCIE 2.0 slot on my new board it sends the Realtek HD sound manager crazy with it constantly saying plugs are being taken in and out of the jacks! After some searching I have recently thought that it may be switching to 2D mode, but I am not sure how to force it to 3D settings to check this. Just remembered I did have some video flicker on YouTube......
So, I tried one of my old cards (MSI GTX 460SE) in the PCIE 2.0 slot and this works absolutely great, stable in games and no crashes.. However, I have no sound with this card! Thinking I do have driver issue here as I can see the green sound bar move in playback devices, but I get nothing coming through either speakers or headphones (oh and yes I have RealTek enabled in BIOS and set as default device).
My biggest worry is that I have a problem with my MB and I need to establish whether this is the problem. I don’t really want to send it back to Novatech if it turns out there is no problem and I get charged. I would be getting a new board from the same place so they may well be a bit friendlier to an exchange rather than a refund.
Equally I now don’t know what to do about my graphics card situation……
As you can see I about at the end of tether it is driving me (and to be fair the wife) crazy.
I would really appreciate your advice on the logical steps I need to perform.

ok some steps you could try!
1: make sure you have all the Motherboard and Graphics drivers Installed (Make sure you have the HDMI Audio Driver installed too from AMD for your card)
2: check to make sure it hasn't set the default Audio to HDMI in your OS in the Audio Device Manager and also in the Realtek HD Audio Manager as you may have a conflict as usually the OS will try and set the HDMI as default audio as its on a PCI-E slot and can think its audio chip is a dedicated sound card not an Auxiliary chip....
3: test it outside the case on a non conductive surface (Untreated wood or plain Cardboard would do) to rule out if you have left a Standoff under the board and its fouling up the circuits there!
4: check the CPU socket for any bent pins as you may have something amiss there as a bent pin is a common problem on LGA sockets!

Error in iTunes 7.7

Ok so I downloaded Itunes 7.7 from Itunes and mins into the installation I get a message that says:
There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
It then goes thru the rest of the installation and when I open up iTunes it goes straight to the iTunes store and it gives me this message:
*iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occurred (-3221)*.
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.
So I thought there might be a problem with my networks firewall, so I went to my Wireless Network Connection, then properties, the advanced tab, then clicked on settings under windows firewall and I got this message:
"Due to an unidentified problem, windows cannot display windows Firewall Settings."
Can someone please help I dont know how to fix this!?!!?!

The -3221 is usually a firewall problem, so I think you're on the right track.

Unity UM 'unidentified caller' problem between Unity servers

Team,
We are simulating a clients UM setup using Unity 4.0(5) befor we migrate everything to Unity 7.0(2) and CUCM 7.1(3).
We setup 2 Unity servers in different locations in one AD domain. Each location also has its own Exchange 2003 servers which the Unity servers are pointing to as its message store. We are also integrating with one CCM cluster 4.1(3). VMO is also enabled on users Outlook.
Sending voicemail messages between users within the Unity servers works fine. Users are able to see the sendees name on the email message and Live reply is functioning.
However, sending voicemail messages accross Unity servers have some issues. Users are seeing the messages as coming from the Unity server itself and not from the user who sent it. The email header would like this:
     From:      Unity Messaging System - [server-name]
     To:          [user-name]
     Subject:     Message from an unidentified caller ([caller-extn-number])
The media message would play just fine. But live reply is not possible.
Using the Call Viewer, the number being displayed are correct while the call is in progress.
Did some checking using CUDLE and both Unity servers have all the subscribers extensions on DTMFAccessID table and on the GlobalSubscriber table all the users from both Unity are there.
Anybody from the forum have encountered this before?
Appreciate it if somebody can share some thoughts on how to solve this problem.

Have you configured digital networking between the 2 Unity systems? To me, what you are describing makes sense. You have 2 separate systems. Unity knows about items that belong or are associated to it (i.e., your intra-system communication works as desired). But, it does not know about information (other than calling info) related to the separate system. My first suggestion would be to read up on digital networking - doesn't require any additional licensing as it's Unity to Unity...in other words, VPIM isn't a concern here.

Here is some methods you can try to fix this problem.
Firstly, excute these command below in evevated CMD:
netsh winsock reset
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
ipconfig /flushdns
If problem persists, try to reinstall Network Card driver for test.
If no use, try to update the firmware of your router.

After uninstalling software for my TM506, I have "unidentified device" problems

After my TM506 stopped working, I finally got around to uninstalling the software for it from my Windows 7 PC. Now, my internal card reader doesn't work, and device manager says that I have a series of "unidentified device"s. For each, if I look at Properties/Details in device manager, I see that property "Hardware IDs" has value "rootseehcricdroot\seehcricd". This appears to have been caused by the uninstall. What can I do about this? Windows Update can't find a driver for any of these devices.

Thanks -- this led to a successful resolution. It was made more difficult by the fact that I could not roll back my drivers, since Win7 Update had installed SP1 in the interim, and I could not locate the drivers manually. My computer is an HP Pavillion, and on the HP web site I found an article suggesting that instead of just restarting my computer, I should power it down, unplug it, and then press the power key for five seconds before plugging in and restarting. When I did this (after removing the drivers that the article that you linked to suggested), my computer found and installed the correct drivers. All is well!

Pendulum Game Unidentified Error Problem - HELP PLEASE!

The idea is the ball moves left or right using arrow keys, and gets score. timed 1 minute, and if it hits the pendulum it loses. if it survives the first 60 seconds it goes to level 2 with the menacing pendulum, same idea only then the game ends. Please contact your ISP provided.. Another user of this unit under same company and same router ARRIS experience this issue, while theyre able to connect to other network and router.. Remember if your unit can detect and connect toother network besiide your arris router your issue is with your provider ISP. (Comcast asking the other user to pay $80.00 for activation where I am curious)

New MBP - wireless/internet access networking problem - a summary!

Greetings!
New MBP here, with all the trimmings (MacOS X 10.4.10 - Safari 3 Beta). New also to the Apple/MAC world
MBP >> wireless networking into a Linksys WRT54G router and >> thru HughesNet DW7000 Satellite Internet connection (not the fastest, but hey, the US and especially rural areas are NOT S. Korea when it comes to speedy internet connections!
Frankly, I bought into it for two reasons: First, hearing about the vaunted Mac a/v/ and doc/photo editing capabilities,... and about MacOS stability, etc... Well, it all needs a little work still: on the part of new users like me, but also probably on the part of the Apple/Mac people as well. 2nd reason I decided to purchase the MBP - i.e. ability to run Windows (I have not yet tried BootCanp, etc...: still resolving preliminary issues!). I still live in a heavy Win environment at my business - no other way of course!
Communications issues seem to still prevail: I am hanging out at several VERY HELPFUL forums (AppleDiscussionForum, MacRumorsForums, etc...) and the same issues keep popping up. Im my case, same as all above reported, with a few additional points, as follows:
1. Xmission errors: seem to be - at least in my case - a constant factor, regardless on how close/far i am from my wireless router. For example, I would be attempting to dwnload an upgrade (large)QT or MacOS file. i am barely into the dowmoad, and I already have several Read/Send errors. By the end of the download, I will have probably about 15 Rcv and 5 Send errors. Never gets quite that bad in my Win machines, I must mention. Anything to do here (I know, there are such things always affecting wireless com). AND, MOST importantly, how that this affect the effectiveness of the upgrade (I spotted same thing with MacOS 10.4.10 and Safari Beta 3 upgrade downloads!). Would it be likely that applying upgrades in such circumstances would screw up the OS??? Could OTOH such errors be automatically "compensated" by re-xmits from the source, and eventually the download would be OK? Because quite frankly, I do NOT know if my important upgrade download was OK to apply to the system, given those errors!!!
Also same thing with PING errors. Quite frequent when pinging another device on my network.
2. Quite often, accessing a site will proceed somehow OK, and then things will get stuck twd the end, as if some buffer somewhere gets overloaded??? Of course, as elsewhere reported, same can often happen with com getting stuck right over the "www" part of the URL!
3. AND, of course, the often reported "NO connection to the Internet", but computer shows good signal level and connection otherwise.
4. Strangely enough, seems that the Airport Extreme wifi card sort of "warms up the the internet" as one proceeds to start using it. It eventually picks up on a network, and often "improves" its connection over time!
5. Built in Airport Extreme seems to not exhibit up all immediately surrounding networks. Sensitivity issue?? iStumbler does.
6. iStumbler permanently posts noise level of 9% regardless of how close to my wireless router/broadband modem I am. Anyone uses iStumbler to monitor network traffic?
This is getting longuish: I just want to get over all those p*ant issues and get into putting my a/v stuff together!!

I am wondering if you and folks on this close-to-Apple forum know anything about this. At least, we could just await remedy instead of messing around endlessly looking for solutions and... pondering as to whether it was a wise thing to purchase an expensive machine which happens to have trouble communicating online. After all, seems that the Mac folks are prone to spend MORE time online uploading/downloading music and videos instead of my being normally doing with the rest of my (Win) computers, i.e. work on customer lists, correspondence, inventories, accounting, data bases, etc....
So, seems to me we do have a pb and Apple might just save a few $$$ on silly ads and get to work on com instead. if nothing else to avoid the appearance of further - admittedly rather funny - ad-spoofs!
So back to your further inquiry. I run a wireless network from a HughesNet satellite modem, thru a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router, into some nearby office LANed desktops and point of sale equipment, to another neighbouring facility via wireless bridge, and to my Mac laptop. Distance from the laptop to the router: 50 ft max.
It all works surprizingly very well: up to 200kbps up and 1000 kbps down (in prime time, 150 up and 600 down). OK, my set up looks complex and incurring LOTS of activity. Actually, online activity is quite minimal and well scheduled - right now I am the only machine on the network online. Otherwise, our office processes online money wiring for customers among other things.
