Unique Id for each device

Hi,
Im building a positioning system on Android through Flash.
I want each android device to send the server the gps position and an unique id. Im having some trouble finding any functions or classes that gives me unique id of the device.
The unique id will be used to identify each device on the server side.
Would really appreciate some help.

I had the same problem for my app. So the mac address from NetworkInfo class is the only current solution to identify a mobile device with Air for Android.
You can try this code to identify which network interface will deliver a mac address:

As I found out on my mobile device there is an interface named 'mobile' but doesn't deliver any mac address. An alternative is to use the wifi interface. Since the wifi card is build in (and can't be removed in a mobile device) it will be listed by the NetworkInfo class.
The best way will be the usage of the IMEI number, but there is no implementation in the AIR framework to get this. The android sdk has this capability, so I hope Adobe will implement this feature as soon as possible.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

How can I open another iCloud account for each devices with the same apple id

my family has 2 iPhones 1 iPad 1 Macbook and 1 iMac. I had all the devices set up with one iCloud under 1 Apple ID. Now things are getting so mixed up with pictures, videos, calendar, notes and reminders etc. 1 iPhone is also unable to sync due to not having enough storage for all our devices. Someone from Genius Bar said we can have iCloud for each device under 1 Apple ID. I'm not sure what they told your at the Apple store, but each Apple ID can only create a single iCloud account. If you want separate accounts for all these devices, they will have to be created using separate IDs. Note: you can do this and still share the same ID for other services such as your iTunes store account. The iCloud ID does not need to be the same as the ID used for other services.
To create an account, go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with a different Apple ID. If you want to migrate a copy of the current iCloud data to the different accounts, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the devices keeping the current account will not be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.

Thanks but that doesn't give me the information I need. I am putting an email on my ipod for people to contact me for iMessage and FaceTime but when I put the email in, it gives me an error saying that the email cannot be veirified because it is already in use. My Apple ID can be varified, just not the email that they will contact me with.

Password to what, exactly? If you're referring to the screen lock, each iPad can have a separate passcode, since that's not tied to an Apple ID. If that's not what you mean, please post back and clarify what password you're referring to and what you wish to accomplish.

Here's what I do. My wife and I each have an iPhone. We each have our own Apple ID. I also have another totally separate Apple ID. The ONLY thing that one has been used for was to set up Find my iPhone for our phones and my iPad. There is no reason the MobileMe setting for find my iphone can't be something completely different from your regular Apple ID UNLESS you already use MobileMe, in which case the 2 conflict in ways I don't understand as I don't subscribe to it.

You can not login into iTunes or the App Store using VPP credentials. You must purchase all apps/book/etc. from the VPP website. Then you can redeem the codes thru itunes/app store or import the codes thru apple configurator. (It will not affect any of the apps you already have but the id can only be used for VPP.)

First, you posted in the Mac App Store forum which are apps for the Mac OS X, not iOS devices.
You do not need to re purchase your apps. Connect your iOS devices to your computer, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Apps then click Sync

Hi Amaresh !
XI generates and stamps a messageID to each message header. That ID is unique. You could use that one. To get that number from inside message mapping to put it in the payload, you could use a java UDF with this code:
String msgid;
java.util.Map map;
map = container.getTransformationParameters();
msgid = (String) map.get(StreamTransformationConstants.MESSAGE_ID);
return msgid;
Of course you can generate another number, but maybe you will need to use a common storage to avoid repeating the assigned numbers, and that will require more work.

If you are doing the INSERT during runtime from a form first
create a sequence in SQL PLUS to handle the ORD_NO value:
Create SEQUENCE ORDERNO_UNIQUEVAL_sqnc
START WITH 000001
NOMAXVALUE
NOCACHE;
and reference it as the ORD_NO parameter in your INSERT
statement:
ORDERNO_UNIQUEVAL_sqnc.NEXTVAL
note: to maintain data integrity you must use the sequence
everytime you insert a new order to table. To start a new
sequence drop the sequence and re-create it with whatever "START
WITH" value you want.

I don't quite understand how I can use iCloud effectively as Apple intends it if we are only given a 5gb space. I have multiple ios and apple devices (like many of you) and I use one apple ID to purchase and manage my apps. I cannot effectively backup all my devices let alone just my ios devices (3 iphones and 2 ipads).
Someone in apple store suggested I use one apple id to backup and then use the common id to purchase. Hmmm... This sounds so Microsoft - Clumsy.
Maybe Apple should allow 5gb space for each device backup and data, so true benefit of iCloud can be shown.... Sight...

Just buy more space if you need it. The restriction is 5 GBs free per iCloud account, but you can purchase additional space.

Does anyone know a way that when you open a community you have to enter your username and password for each device listed in that community? I know with it currently you enter your username and password one time for each device, but I want it to prompt mne for username and password for each device in the community. I unchecked "Encrypt and Store Device Credentials" and it still only prompts me one time for a username and password.

We tried reproducing it in our local set up and we also analyzed the problem with respect to the expected behavior in CNA.
Could you please share some more details as mentioned below so as to provide you the exact solution.
1) Is the same set of user name and password used for all the devices?
2) Was the password store feature enabled while creating community and was disabled later?
