No, you can use the same copy on your Macs. Log into the App Store using the Same AppleID. It will be in the puchased section. If you're on Snow Leopard, just click install.

Can I make a hardcover book with pictures from my ipad or do they need to be on my desktop first?
I am having trouble putting pictures from my ipad onto my desktop. I could use the memory card of my digital camera, but I was hoping the folders would transfer intact from my ipad. Also, Can I make a Shutterfly type book directly from my iPad?
There is a Shutterfly app for iPad ... although I have no personal experience with it, I see it has not been updated in about 16 months, and it doesn't have such great reviews.
There is also an iPhoto app for iPad that probably enables book creation.
So there are probably other apps out there as well, given these two exist. -

Can not connect to web, itune or apps from my ipad
I just updated my ipad and now I can not get on the web, into itunes or apps. What did I do wrong?
Some things to try first:

I can't connect to iCloud or iTune account from my iPad.
I get verification request time out. Wi-Fi is on and I can sign in my account from my windows 7 PC. I synced iPad with my windows 7. It does not help. Basicly my iPad is dead. It doen't allow me to surf internet or receive latest emails.
When syncing with my PC, I did get a message mentioning that account on my iPad does not update but after finshed sync, I still have the same problem with iPad.Charge ipad via wall outlet for at least 1 hour.

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).
If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new first (to isolate cause of the issue). Then from backup if necessary.

I don't quite understand how I can use iCloud effectively as Apple intends it if we are only given a 5gb space. I have multiple ios and apple devices (like many of you) and I use one apple ID to purchase and manage my apps. I cannot effectively backup all my devices let alone just my ios devices (3 iphones and 2 ipads).
Someone in apple store suggested I use one apple id to backup and then use the common id to purchase. Hmmm... This sounds so Microsoft - Clumsy.
Maybe Apple should allow 5gb space for each device backup and data, so true benefit of iCloud can be shown.... Sight...Just buy more space if you need it. The restriction is 5 GBs free per iCloud account, but you can purchase additional space.

How do I link mine and my wifes iphones, and our shared ipad together?
I have an iphone for work, and my wife and I have a shared ipad at home. Both currently run imessage and icloud under my apple id. I had to turn my iphone imessaging off though to prevent seeing her conversations with family from out ipad while I was at work. I previously had her email loaded as a secondary email to mine and I think this is how it worked. Now, she has her own iphone. We had to create her own apple id for this, and I no longer seem to be able to link her email to my ipads icloud and imessaging, I guess as it is used with her phone. Now I'm stuck with what I need to do for the three devices to communicate, but for her to not get my work messages and me to not get her family messages. Does the ipad need it's own id? Do I need to tick or untick certain things in my "Reached by email at" or "Start new conversations from" menus?
I just know how to keep separeted: create different accounts, or turn "contacts" off, on iCloud settings in one of the iPhones.

My husband just got an iPad and we are wondering if he can sync the iPad to my lap top since I already have my iPhone synced to the laptop. We do not want to intermix the contacts, photos, etc from his iPad onto my iPhone or my iPhone info onto his iPad.
You should be able to sync both to the same iTunes - I sync my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch to the same computer. With the iPad connected and selected on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, you can use the tabs on the right-hand side to select which of your iTunes content to sync to it, so you can control which apps, photos, music etc are synced to it, and (via the Info tab) from which email account your contacts are synced from. Your computer's iTunes should remember your syncing preferences for each device.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

You can not login into iTunes or the App Store using VPP credentials. You must purchase all apps/book/etc. from the VPP website. Then you can redeem the codes thru itunes/app store or import the codes thru apple configurator. (It will not affect any of the apps you already have but the id can only be used for VPP.)
