Unique Requirement: No Financial entry only Inventory posting.

My client has a unique requirement.
He wants that for one of the Item Groups there should be no financial posting ie it should not reflect in Excise Registry but they want the same Item Group to have all inventory postings and records.
How to solve this
Khushwant

There is an item named "subcontracting" which my client is calling to all the outsourced job alloted to my clients from its Business Partner.
Their job is to do the job for its business partner on turnkey basis. They use to get the Raw Material from their Business Partner only and Finished goods are then forwarded back to my client's Business Partner.
In all this transaction no exise are affected although the items are excisable actually(in real world) but not in SAP.
So they dont want the Financial Entry to occur but only Inventory Tracking provision should be there in SAP.
Kindly Solve the issue if possible.

  • Intergation FI and MM/ Offsetting entry for inventory posting

    Dear all,
I am configuring Intergation FI and MM.
Transaction GBB, I can't link to Valuation grouping code and Transaction Key
Where did I miss in configuration process?
Please tell me how to configure step by step
    Thank for your help

FI-MM: The integration between FI-MM happens in T-code OBYC.
      1. When PO is created :
    No Entry -
      2. When GR is posted
Inventory Account dr (Transaction Key BSX in OBYC)
To GRIR account (T.Key WRX in T-code OBYC)
      3. When Invoice is posted
          GRIR account Dr.
          Vendor account  Cr.
      4. Payment made to Vendor
          Vendor A/c Dr
                To Bank Clearing A/c Cr.
Points to know : Movement Types, Assignment of Movement types to T-keys (T-code OMJJ), Value string (I also need some information on this) , OMWN and OMWB transactions.
There is a close integration b/w FI & MM, actually document flows from MM to FI in the following areas such as,
    1. Movement Types:
Used to enable the system to find the predefined posting rules determining how the accounts of financial accounting system are to be posted & to update the stock fields in the matrl master data.(Goods Receipt, Goods Issue, etc)
    2. Valuation Class:
Assignment of material to grp of gl account, used to determine the gl accounts that are updated as a result of goods movement.
    3. Transaction/Event key:
Used to control the storage or filing of documents & assignment of documents.Used to differeniate b/w various transactions such as goods movement tht occur in inventory.
    4. Material Type:
Each material should assign mtrl type in mtrl master record used to update whether changes made in qty are updated in material master record & change in value also updated in stock account.

  • GBB-Inventory posting

I'm using IDEAS,i wanted a favour, my offsetting entry for inventory posting(GBB), got over written...
could you please go to Transaction code: OBYC and search GBB and the data in it , please paste it here in forum, it would have been good.
    Awaiting reply...
    Thanks

    Hi,Lekshmi
if you doule click GBB and system will ask you to input the Chart of Accounts.
Then you will get a new screen and there are three columns need to you input.
Generall Modification: if you post good movement,in the movement type, it will define a account Modification(SPro-Materials Management-Inventory Management and Physical Inventory-Movement Types-Copy, Change Movement Types ,then select a movement type and click Account Grouping ).
Value class: defined in material master
Accout:which GL account you need to filled in to match the actual business  as per the above prerequsition.

  • Post CO88 we want to pass Financial entry

*Post Production Order settlement(CO88) we want to pass financial entry from Price difference account to COGS.*Which is purely financial entry & it should not affect controlling.
But system asks for cost element while passing financial entry.
If we create cost element, Invoice verification (MIRO) will ask for cost object assignment & same is the case in other Financial entries of Price Difference account.
How to pass these Finanacial entries without creating cost element ?

    Hi,
      Transferring Production Variances
    Use
To run closed profitability analysis for periods, you need to transfer to CO-PA at the end of the period all the variances that have occurred in that period. Variances typically occur if you valuate your materials with standard prices. At the end of the period, these standard costs are then compared with the actual costs incurred, and this comparison forms the basis for a detailed variance analysis. The variances are finally transferred to CO-PA at the end of the period to produce a factually correct representation of the results.
The variances for cost objects are transferred to CO-PA when production orders, for example, are settled. For a description of how variances arise and what causes them, see the documentation on Cost Object Controlling.
The functions described below are relevant mainly for manufacturing enterprises.
    Features
Three ways for transferring production variances are set out below. How you use them depends on your information requirements in CO-PA.
u2022     You might wish, for example, to display the individual variance categories for Cost Object Controlling (CO-PC-OBJ) in CO-PA. In that case, you would settle the variance categories to CO-PA.
u2022     You only need to display the production variances as a total in CO-PA, which is how they are posted to FI. You might not need to calculate cost object variances and only wish to assign the relevant FI posting to CO-PA. In that case, you would post the production variances in FI to CO-PA.
u2022     You implement the Material Ledger (CO-PC-ACT). For the closing operations in Material Ledger, you might not wish to replace just the posted standard prices with the actual costs incurred. At the same time, you might want to subsequently allocate (across multiple levels) production variances to finished products at the end of the period and then display the revised variances in CO-PA. In that case, you would allocate the production variances subsequently using the Material Ledger.
Settling Variance Categories to Profitability Analysis
For the settlement of production orders, you can transfer to CO-PA the variance categories calculated in Cost Object Controlling. The requirements for this are as follows:
u2022     You are working with standard prices for processed materials.
u2022     You have already performed variance calculation in Cost Object Controlling.
u2022     You have entered in the settlement profile for your production order that you wish to settle variances.
u2022     You have set up and assigned a PA transfer structure in Customizing for CO-PA to be used to direct the calculated variance categories into the desired value fields.
The variance categories are settled in a much the same way as that for Settling Orders and Projects. For more information on these requirements, choose Flows of Actual Values  Settling Production Variances in CO-PA Customizing.
When your cost object is settled, the information will be transferred to costing-based CO-PA if these requirements have been fulfilled. In this way, the production variances are shown at the level of the particular product currently being produced. It is only possible to allocate production variances subsequently as a total when the Material Ledger is involved (see below).
The variance categories can only be displayed in value fields. This function is therefore not available in account-based Profitability Analysis.
Assigning Production Variances from FI to CO-PA
If you only need to display production variances as a total as described above, you can alternatively assign the production variances from FI to CO-PA using account assignment.
Since the production variances are posted as a total in FI during settlement of the production order, you can also choose to assign this posting to CO-PA. The requirements for this are as follows:
u2022     You are working with standard prices for processed materials.
u2022     You have specified in CO-PA Customizing for the relevant production variance account (PRD account) that that account is automatically assigned to CO-PA. For more information, see the section Flow of Actual Values  Direct Posting from FI/MM  Automatic Account Assignment in Customizing.
u2022     You have specified in the appropriate PA transfer structure in FI which value field is the one to which the information is to be transferred.
Production variances are transferred in this case in much the same way as Direct Postings from FI to CO-PA.
When your production order is settled, the variance posting created in FI will be posted to CO-PA if these requirements have been fulfilled. In this way, the production variances are shown at the level of the particular product currently being produced.
This function is available in both costing-based and account-based Profitability Analysis.
Subsequent Allocation of Production Variances Using the Material Ledger
When you use the Material Ledger, you can allocate production variances subsequently across several levels. This means that you can use the quantity flows recorded in the Material Ledger to charge the production variances arising for semi-finished products proportionally to the finished products. During period-end closing in the Material Ledger, the production variances posted temporarily are corrected accordingly in FI and then reposted to the next manufacturing level upwards. Subsequent allocation can only occur for summaries. For more information, see  Material Ledger.
To transfer this information to CO-PA, you need to assign the relevant FI postings as described above. It is also possible to transfer the variance categories in parallel. However, the transfer would not be affected by the subsequent allocation due to the summary correction postings.
The requirements for this parallel transfer are the same as those described in the above section entitled "Assigning Production Variances from FI to CO-PA".
This function can be used in both costing-based and account-based Profitability Analysis.

  • Year End Physical Inventory - Financial Entry

    Hi,
Our fiscal year ends on December 31st. For year end physical inventory count, we are supposed to u201CValidate the Finance Entryu201D.  For the field labeled u201CMat. Doc. Yearu201D, should I enter 2009 or 2010?
    Kindly advise?
    Thanks
    Kishore

    Hi,
Kindly refer to the Physical Inventory Count doc attached to JIRA OR-334.
The purpose of Step 6 u2013 Validation of the financial entry, is to ensure that the accounting document is posted correctly for the inventory count difference posted
in the previous step. Hence the year to be entered is the year in which the inventory difference (physical inventory document) is posted.
    1.     If they posted this document in 2010 fiscal year u2013 they have to enter 2010 in the Mat. Doc. Year field
    2.     If they posted this document in 2009 fiscal year u2013 they have to enter 2009 in the Mat. Doc. Year field
    3.     If they leave the Mat. Doc. Year field blank u2013 then also it will allow us to view the documents.

  • Inventory posting - stock in transit G/L account

    Hello!
We have a unique requirement that we need to post the stock in transit inventory only if the delivery is for one particular customer (sold to party). It is our own company but not on SAP hence, on the books, an inter company transaction. All that is different in this case is the account assignment group of the customer which basically is no help in configuring OMWB (G/L account determination for inventory postings).
The material/plants/movement types are all the same for all transactions, thereby providing us with no 'uniqueness' in this particular transaction to post these stock in transit inventories to a different G/L. I could possibly look at having another movement type if that can help but then again, how will that be valid only for a particular transaction with this customer, I am not sure...
Can anybody provide me with a step by step instructions on how can this be achieved, if it indeed can be? Appreciate any help or posting here if anyone wants any more clarifications on the issue...
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
As you might already know that the G/L determination happen based on Movt type and the valuation class. in your case as the movt type and the val class are same, you willl not be able to customize to post it to different account
so for this you do 2 ways:
1: you create a new delyvery type and a new movement type so that you can configure the account determination (OMWB).
    2. you can influence the account determination by writing a code in the user exit ZXMBCU02 here you can force the system to post it into the different G/L account.
    Hope this helps,

  • Creation of movt.type - unique requirement

    Dear Friends,
Here i am enclosing my unique requirement to create a movement type. In sales returns PGR (Post goods receipt) done automatically material document will be updated. This is value is picks in material master, this is normal process.
In normal process PGR done the fi entry is
          Finished Goods Dr      Eg. Rs.1000
                            COGS Cr    Eg. Rs.1000
My requirement is to create a new movement type which can not hit regular GL both the Finished goods and COGS (which is mentioned in the above entry) when PGR done, to hit separate GL. Kindly tell me how to create a new movement type which is supports the above requirement and where i can assign new GL.
Pls tell me its very urgent.

I dont think its possible, as what u r thinking
Movement type only gives u the transaction keys
and in OBYC this transaction keys gl accounts are attached.
more over u can not make ur own movement type. U will have to create movement type by coping the std movement type only .
so when u copy this transaction keys are also copied. and this u cant change
look in OMWN u cant chang any thing hear.
so i think its not posible to by creating new movement type
    hope this cleares

  • Sales Returms - unique requirement

    Dear Friends,
The following is my unique requirement to process Sales returns. For sales returns i am using order type RE and movement type 655, 653 and 651. By using this movement types and order types PGR (Post goods receipt) will happen, stocks are moved in to unrest. use or QI. Upto this well and good. My requirement is the value of material is make to zero.
when PGR is done the entry is
                Finished goods Dr Eg. Rs1000
                                COGS Cr Eg. Rs.1000
The above price is maintains in material master (VPRS), When ever PGR done this should be make zero it means that particular GL should not contain any value. If any body knows please tell me how to do the same. This is very urgent for me, kindly tell me.

    <b><REMOVED BY MODERATOR></b>

    Hi,
VPRS condition works as per requirement routine, the logic of this routine is
--Plant should be entered in the line item and there sould not be any billing plans in the order then only the requirement will satisfy and the condition type triggred during sales order creation.
    Solution1:
You deactivate detemine cost check box in the return item category REN and try it.Iam sure it works,if it not works follow below,
    Solution2:
Now if you do not want this to be determined during return sales, then you make customized routine and assgn this at requirement of pricing procedure without distrubing std. code. based on SD document category(for ex:H),so that you can arrive solution.

  • Only excise posting need to be done

    Hi,
    1.  Once a material is manufactured & posted to unrestricted stock, its available for sales & the subsequent RG1 entries are posted.
    2. If the same material is required again for reprocessing, the goods can be removed from the stock only with the payment of excise duties. So an invoice with only excise posting is required & the RG1 should subsequently be negated for the same quantity & value.
    3. Later to which the material is available for reprocessing within the plant.
    Rudra

    1) Matrial posted in unrestricted stock means only reciepts to RG1. This means you update the same with RMA classification
    2) If the same material again for reprocessing this movement needs to be updated with IWO classification. In this case the tansfer will be  internal consumption or go for reprocessing. In this case excise duty wont update in the system. Only receipts and issues in RG1 will be updated. Duties will be updated once material moves out from the plant.
    Hope this helps

  • Item cost not found for one or more items - Inventory Posting

    Good Day Mentors,
My user has encountered an error during Inventory Posting and its "Item cost not found for one or more items".
The specific Message ID from SAP's System Message Log is 10001287.
I found a similar post which addresses this error here.
But unfortunately it did not help me solve my user's problem.
I already checked if the items had a defined "Item Cost" in the Item Master Data Inventory Tab, and they all have "Item Cost" defined.
I'm not sure if this will help, but below is the Inventory Audit Report of one of the items that is throwing the "Item cost not found" error.
I am not a business consultant neither am I literate in accounting, so thanks for the patience.
    SAP Version: 9.0 PL5
    Valuation Method: Moving Average
    Thanks in advance!
    Sean

    Hi Augusto and Raviraj,
I've already verified in our production database the points you made:
    - Is the "Manage Item cost per warehouse" selected in the Basic Initialization Screen?
    YES
    - Is the "Manage Inventory by Warehouse" ticked/checked in the "Inventory Data" tab of the "Item Master Data" screen?
    YES
    * I apologize for not have been able to give this information upfront.
Anyway, the database only has one warehouse at the moment.
I've checked the items, like the item in the screen shot above, and it does have an item cost.
Below is the screenshot of the sample item from my original post,
    Thanks in advance!
