Uniqueness of Row IDs across Objects

Are the RowIDs unique across all objects of an instance, or just within the object? Or Stated another way, would a Lead Row ID ever be the same as an Opportunity Row ID in the same instance?

The RowIDs are unique across all objects in a CRM On Demand instance.

Hi,
To maintain object specific number ranges, go to customising node Personnel management --> Org. management --> Basic settings --> Number range manitenance --> Maintain Number ranges
Here there will already be a default entry as $$$$.
To create different range for object say O you can use the following options:
Create entry as $$O - number range applicable to all Org units across all plan versions.
Create entry as 01O - number range applicable to all Org units under plan version "01"
Then under Interval maintenance create the desired number ranges under IN for internal or EX for external (check the external tick box for external number ranges)
In the similar manner you can create the number ranges for objects C, S , Q & QK.

One of the field is LOV and remaining fields are in ADF table. the LOV field is out side ADF table when i insert first record in ADF table and i choose LOV filed the value is selected.
when i create second row LOV value got refreshed because both are in same VO.
I need to get the LOV value of first row and set same value to second Row.

Accessing all rows in Entity Object

Hi All,
I have a master-child relationship with ChildVO based on entity object. When user hits on save after making some changes, I would like to pass all rows in master view object and all fetched rows in entity object to a pl/sql api which takes pl/sql table datatypes. I would call this API in AM. So is there any way to access all entity rows of child view object?I tried to use view link accessors but it returns null. I can think of the following way:
for each row in master view object
loop
set current row for master view object. This would execute child vo for that master row.
then fetch all rows from child vo. populate pl/sql table
move on to next master vo row.
end loop;
Drawback with above approach is that we would excute child object query for every master row. Is there any direct way to access rows in entity object in AM? Any pointers on this would be of great help.

is not a correct statement to make, EO will always represent a single row of the database record.you will get all the fetched rows in the VO, not the EO.

We're working on an application where we need to create references between iFS objects (documents, folders) and external objects.
1) Are there any identifiers which are stable over an object lifetime, even when the object is migrated to another iFS instance?
a) We assume LibraryObjectInterface is stable over the object lifetime inside a given iFS instance, but will change after export/import. Is that correct?
b) Are there any alternatives?
c) Would the iFS development team consider adding a stable key based on a GUID, much the same way that the portal team did for their latest release?

SSIS : Read Rows from an Object variable in SSIS Script Task which is looped many times.

Here is what I am trying to do...
1. I am having two rows, one column in an Object Variable. (vLoopCountObj).
2. I am having 30 Rows, 2 Columns in my second Object Variable (vTableRowsObj)
3. I have a FOR EACH LOOP which will run for number of rows in vLoopCountObj i.e 2 times here.
4. I have a Script Task inside the FOR EACH LOOP to display all the rows of vTableRowsObj.
5. When I execute, 30 Rows gets displayed only once. It will not display when the loop goes for second iteration. Please help me to display for second time.
6. I have used below code to display the rows whithin the script task which is in SSIS dataflow task.

Hi Raj,
It is verrrry interesting issue. I can also confirm that it doesnt loop again. I've made a simple test and figured that in the second loop even you fill the Dataadapter, record count is zero. Which brings me up to the idea: Somehow, after you read the object
variable resultset, you can not read it again in the for each loop.
Strange, probably a bug or a technical issue that is beyond my existing knowledge.
I can provide a workaround. You can also loop in script task for first variable. (Nested loops)
Let other members to examine and comment on this.

How to retrieve rows in view object and display on UI

I am new to ADF. i am using jdeveloper11.1.1.5.0 . Here is my scenario.
In my AM i have a view object say EmployeeVo. on empVo i am performing setRangeStart and setRangeSize.
empVo .setRangeStart(2);
empVo .setRangeSize(2);
Rows[] rows=empVo .getAllRowsInRange();
so from the above statement will get two rows from the empVo object. Now i have to display these rows in UI in the form of af:table.
Can anyone suggest how to acheive this.

How to generate unique table row id's in a cfoutput query?

I am trying to implement a jQuery drag and drop table row function to my CF pages but in order to save my "drop" positioning to the database I need to serialize all the table row id's.What coding would I need to add so that after the cfoutput query is run, each table row would have a unique id (ie. tr id="1", tr id="2", etc.)? Thanks.

Utilize the CurrentRow variable that's automatically available within your query output:

Disable/Grey out a row in ABAP Objects

I have a reqmt where in which in the report -
when check box display BOM is checked only BOM components needs to be displayed in the output but should not allow user to select the row and make changes by pressing anybutton.
The display rows should get greyed out. How to achieve this functionality thru ABAP objects.

Number of rows differences across 9i logical dataguard

Hi,
I have a wierd situation, and need help to investigate:
We have a 9i primary database and a logical standby database for reporting purposes. In the logcial standby, apart from the main APPDBM schema from primary, we also have RPTDBM schema containing reporting objects. RPTDBM doesnot exist in primary.
We maintain the guard_status to "STANDBY" level in logical standby database to allow modifications to the RPTDBM schema.
But, today, we have observed difference in the number of rows for many tables (131 out of 2000) between the APPDBM schema in primary and standby database.
How could this have happened? What safeguard we should implement to prevent?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You have a customized solution. Without knowing all about the process of creating, populating, maintaining the reporting table, it's impossible to say.

Sequence of Create Rows in View Object

I have to insert a sequence of Rows in a entity object. While doing this , I need to display the master table record at the top of the page. I created a Data action (Dragged and Dropped Create button) which forwards to the data page containing ADF UIX input form and ADF UIX read only table(Master record). When I click te submit button, I commit the transaction and forward to the create data action again. I removed the following line from the Data Page.

But Still, I'm not able to get the master record to display(Shows Empty Record) on third and subsequent insert rows. But the child record is inserted into the database on the first and second attempt.
Please help me solve this problem.

I have 3 objcts that one of them is ID and second one is internal code and the third one is quantity.There is more than one value for each ID (becouse of internal code).I want to create a report based on ID and quantity (not based on internal code).I make a break on ID but the result shows me more than one row for each ID.so how can i have just one row for each ID?

Have you tried to omit "internal code" from your grid? In normal circumstances, if you have "ID" and "Quantity" on the grid, then WebI will on its own summarize Quantity based on ID, however, this is provided that Quantity has been set up as a measure (or metric). The quickest way to tell if Quantity is a metric or not is to observe the color of its icon when you look at it in the data panel. If it is a purple (or sometimes appears as pink or fuscia) dot, then it's a measure, but if it is a blue box then it is a dimension. If you need Quantity as a measure then this will have to be modified at the universe (make it look like "sum(Quantity)" in the select phase of the object, and insure the object is defined as a number....

Get number of rows in ResultSet object

Can anybody guide me on how to get the total number of rows in a result set object without iterating through all rows? Thanks.

You mention that you want to get the row count without iterating through the "ResultSet". I don't know what database you are using, but I want to inform you that with my Oracle 8i (8.1.7.4) database, using JDK 1.3.1 and the matching JDBC (thin) driver, the implementation of the "last()" method (that others have recommended that you use), actually iterates through the whole "ResultSet".
What I do is first execute a "SELECT COUNT(1)" query (using a literal "1") to get the number of rows -- this is much faster than executing the "last()" method.
Then I execute my actual query.
