Unload different component types w/i swf container

Question

Okay, I'm newbiesh but please bear with me.
Into one swf I am loading two kinds of external media at the
click of each media's respective button. Half of the media is to be
loaded into the FLV player component, and the other half into a
MediaPlayer. The FLV media are external FLV's. The MediaPlayer
media are external jpgs. (I didn't load them into the same player
as I can't figure out to have elegant video controls in the same
kind of player that would load more simple media like jpgs... maybe
this is where the solution to my problem lies...?)
The instance of the FLVPlayer is called 'flv_play'. The
instance of the MediaPlayer is called 'wed_1'.
If you click on a button to invoke video loading into the FLV
player, this is the code:

If you click on a button to invoke jpgs loading into the

If I click the FLV player button invocation first, the movie
plays. Then I if I click the mediaplayer/jpg button next, the jpg
shows. This is good. Then, if I click back to the FLV player
invocation again, nothing happens. Then, continuing this sequence
of clicking... if I click back on the mediaplayer/jpg button the
jpg shows.
Thoughts? I feel like I've tried every theory and executed
every hint from google research thus far with no result. This site
is due Friday!!!!! And this is the main glitch preventing me from
developing/replicating a template further!
Any help would be most appreciated... of course!
