Unloading Images
I'm relatively new at this and having a difficult time. I'm
trying to create an image gallery that dynamically loads, but also
removes the loaded image when a new thumbnail is clicked. I have a
remove child instance, but that only works for one image loader and
not both (it also deletes the bottom thumbnail upon clicking). Any
help with this would be appreciated.
Yes, the thumbnails are being loaded by 'imageLoader'. I
tried changing the name and a variety of other things and the same
thing keeps happening. Either the FullSized images load one over
top of the other or, if I overcome that with removeChild, the last
thumbnail disappears. If it is not the code, as you
suggest,"...that code isn't removing your thumbnail..." Then what
is. Because it's definately happening! Thank you again.

This message contains unloaded images... getting it to stop!
Many new messages in my Inbox come in, with a line across the stop, saying, "This message contains unloaded images." And there's a button to the right, "Load Images" that I need to push in order to load any images in that email.
How do I get Mail to stop doing that? I want Mail to load every. single. image. All the time. Always and forever. Yes, even if it's detrimental to my moral fiber.Keep in mind that you only just now turned that feature off. It will take a few weeks for them to catch up with you, and once they do you can't reverse the procedure because they'll already know that your e-mail address is a good one to use for sending their spam to. Multiply the amount of spam you'll get by at least a factor of 10. You didn't think that Apple was turning off these images just to ruin your day did you? Hi,
When using Mail, I constantly have to load the images embedded in the mail myself. I come from Leopard and I didnt have this problem there. I have checked the box in the mail prefs (read html by default or something) and I also have filled in the correct IP address in DNS servers in Network prefs but nothing helps. Some e-mails are not affected but most of them are. I'm using an IMAP Gmail account. Thanks for your help. The reason I downgraded to Tiger is 'cause my swopped MBP came with Tiger and my previous iMac had Leopard. I'm gonna be using Tiger until I'm ready for 10.6. Just in case someone wonders..

If "Display remote images in HTML messages" is checked, some mails still won't display the images. Other mails are affected by this checkbox.
Leopard didnt have this issue!
Is this some junk filter issue?

My mac mail recently has been giving me the "this message contains unloaded images" every time I get an email unless it is just text. I haven't changed any preferences or security of any kind. Does anyone else have this problem?
I don't think it's a problem, because those images are probably from an HTML email message and your Preferences are probably set not to load them when opening a message. If that's the case, there should be a button at the top right of the message window to load those images.
Also, are you still running 10.4.7 as your profile states? If so, you need to upgrade to 10.4.11 immediately and update your profile; this will fix a number of bugs an security vulnerabilities, as well as letting you run the latest version of Safari.

Actionscript 3 - jigsaw puzzle unloading images
I am using the puzzle game sample from adobe and want to use it as part of an interactive narrative for students. However, everytime I try to go to new frame or scene the image stays with me. How do I remove or unload the puzzle frame and bitmap images so that it doesn't follow me. I am not a coder very confusing here is the entire script.

threshold *= 1.2;When you create dynamic content, it does not have a timeline home unless you place it in something that's anchored to the timeline. What you could do is place the puzzle inside of an empty movieclip that you manually incorporate into the timeline rather than dynamically which you currently do. For the code you show, you may be able to eliminate this...

and create an empty movieclip with that instance name that you only allow to exist in the frames where you intend the puzzle to be visible.
Instead, you could also try using: removeChild(puzzleBoardClip); wherever it is you have code where you would want to make the puzzle no longer visible. -

MIME emails not showing embedded images
Hello.
When I receive e-mails from a GroupWare solution (extra.groupcare.dk), embedded images are not shown in Mail 3.4. If I use Gmail or any version of Microsoft Outlook, even Mail 2.1 on Tiger it works fine.
The images are shown as mime-attachment-x, and can be viewed with quick look.

The situation you describe is normal to me, though, because I have unticked "Show external images in HTML-messages" in Mail's preferences to save bandwidth when I'm on a mobile connection or similar. Whenever i get one of thoses HTML-mails, e.g. from iTunes Store with a lot of missing images, there will be a blue field at the top of the mail window stating that "This messages contents unloaded images" (or whatever the English translation would be). Additionally, there's a "Download images"-button to get the the missing images.
I don't want to be unpolite, but could that be the case for you too? -

this really puzzles me... How onLoadInit and onLoadComplete
listeners actually work? It is a photo slideshow, I am creating at
runtime image holder and then centering its registration point to
the center of main stage, then I am loading an image into it using
MovieClipLoader class, then I need to change the image registration
point so it is also centered on the stage. All works just
excellently on my pc but unfortunately when on webserver the
centering doesn't work! When the loading seems to be really
intensive it doesn't care about onLoadInit listener!!! I test it at
www.2sayhello.com/upgrade if anybody cares to see the effect.

1/ i am trying to load images and monitor the
System.totalMemory i noticed that even if i unload and remove the
listner and give it 500 ms so the GC do its job but the unloaded
images data are always there... please see the attached file u ll
notice that the totalMemory (in the FLASH DEV ENVIROMENT) increase
and increase and this is a small image what about if i am loading
huge images...
2/ talking about huge images well replace the img.jpg with
something bigger and open your performance monitor and run the html
page in IE notice that the memory consumed by the IE page increase
and increase and never stop (its LIKE in the FLASH DEV
ENVIROMENT)... but in FF or swf its ok .
so the question here is the unload remove the data or what?
or am i doing something wrong that make the GC never remove the
data. And how would i manage the IE issue??

I also facing the same memory problem.
As you said in this case it works fine. But my case i am not
loading images instead i load swf file which has sound embeded to
the timeline as stream.
According to this code, same memory management performs well
for me also. but the sound in the unloaded swf is still audible and
when i load the next swf, these all sounds mix up and i don't hear
anything properly.
To avoid the sound problem i added a line
SoundMixer.stopAll() to getaway the problem, but after i added this
line memory management got lost and my system gets hanged.

IPad2 w/iPhone Configuration Utility wont install profile
I'm trying to use the iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6.2 from a windows 7 SP1 on an iPad2 running iOS 7.0.3 (11B511) but when I try to install a profile nothing seems to respond. I don't get any feed back on the iPad or from iPhone Configuration Utility. I know the name is iPhone Configuration Utility but from what iv read it it compatible with iPads aswell. I need this or something like this to keep the iPad from auto-connecting to open Wi-Fi in a businesses environment. Its not as easy and putting a password on the open Wi-Fi signals because we do not control the other businesses around the one we support. Forgetting the connection also wont work once the iPad looses connection with the correct Wi-Fi and is looking to reconnect.

So i read that Apple hasnt updated the iPhone config utility for iOS7 (or at all for a while). Does anyone know of any other config utilities that would allow me to control wheather a Wi-Fi is auto connected to or not? We use iPads in a buinessness envornment and need to be able to connect to one Wi-Fi with other open Wi-Fi connections avalable (but not connected). forgetting an open network doesnt work because it will auto-connect if the iPad looses connection with the main Wi-Fi. Auto-connect should be an option on apple devices but isnt. we cannont be asked if we want to connect to an open Wi-Fi all the time.
