Unloading the rarely used column tables on to the persistent layer ?

Hello Folks,
Can someone please let me know how to unload the column tables of a particular schema that are not being used every now and then, on to the persistent layer?
eg: UNLOAD "SCHEMA_NAME"."TABLE_NAME" will unload only a particular table on to the disk, but how do i select the tables that were inactive say since the last 1 week of a particular schema.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Krishna

Hi Atul,
Thank you for providing me with the information,As per the link you sent me i am assuming that the process of unloading the rarely used inactive tables on to the DISK is totally managed by the HANA's inbuilt algorithm. But HANA only unloads the tables on to the persistent layer when the memory reaches to or above 90% of the memory, There should be a way out .
BTW its krishna and not  Krishana

    Hi,
    As far as I understand what you are asking for I would suggest 4 data dictionaries that will help you to know the table name from the column names
    1. USER_TAB_COLS
    2. ALL_TAB_COLS
    3. DBA_TAB_COLS
    4. COLS
    These can give you detail information about the columns and respective tables at user, schema, dba level. Further information on the table can be found by querying ALL_OBJECTS table giving table_name as Object_name, or you can join the data dictionaries too.
    To know about various data dictionaries avalible in Oracle please query select * from cat;
    Let us know if you need further assistance.

  • How to find out the most used objects and rarely used objects?

    Hello all,
                  Can somebody please guide me on the procedure to separate frequently used transactions or reports or tables from rarely used ones on the production server?
    Is there any special transaction to find this out?
    hope to hear from you soon.
    Thanks,

    The SAP standard doesn´t provide such a functionality. There is, however, a product called "RBE" (Reverse Business Engineer) which is part of the Solution Manager (ST-SEP). It must be licensed separately.

    I am using a table in Numbers to plot daily graph lines. Mood swings of how I am on the day, i"m a depressive.
    If I fill a cell with a step box at say zero it plots the graph. I can't actually set the cell value until the actual day but the graph plots it at zero when I don't want it to plot anything. Is there a work around. so thatbgraph only plots on the day?

    The answer is (sort of) in your subject, but edited out of the problem statement in the body of your message.
    When you use a stepper or a slider, the value in the cell is always numeric, and is always placed on the chart if that cell is included in the range graphed by the chart.
    But if you use a pop-up menu cell, you can specify numeric or text values in the list of choices for in the menu. Numeric values will be shown on the chart. Text values will not.
    For the example, the values list for the pop-up menu was:
    5
    3
    1
    Choose
    -1
    -3
    -5
    The first pop-up was set to display Choose, then the cell was filled down the rest of the column. Any text value (including a single space, if you want the cell to appear blank) may be used instead of Choose.
    For charts with negative Y values, the X axis will not automatically appear at Y=0. If your value set will include negative values, I would suggest setting the Y axis maximum and minimum to the maximum and minimum values on your menu list, rather than letting Numbers decide what range to include on the chart. Place a line shape across the chart at the zero level, and choose to NOT show the X axis.

  • Dimension build using SQL table and process to fill the SQL table

    I have a dimension in a cube that is manually* built by one of our power users. Now I have to get all the member information of that dimension into a SQL table(example : with columns...level0,level0property,level1,level1property etc....) to use that table in STUDIO for member load.
    Is there any easy process to do this? Currently I am building each and every row manually in that SQL table and there are 1100+ members in that manually built dimension. Please advice.

    Thank you so much Glenn!! That worked!! You make our lives so much easier!!

  • How to transpose rows into multiple columns using pivot table

    I have 1 row containing 12 columns with value "JAN", "FEB", "MAR", "J-1","F-1","M-1","J-2","F-2","M-2","J-3","F-3","M-3"
    I want to display as
    JAN J-1 F-1 M-1
    FEB J-2 F-2 M-2
    MAR J-3 F-3 M-3
    How do I achieve the above?

    Today you have only 3 months JAN, FEB, MAR. Is it always the same number of columns. What if there are more months added to this row?
    Is your data really coming from relational source or some sort of text file?
    There is a better way to do this in narrative view using HTML if your requirement is just to show them in multiple rows and do some calculations.
    Go to Narrative View;
    In prefix, use <html> <table>
    In 'Narrative' text box add something like this
    <tr> <td> @1 </td> <td> @4 </td> <td> @7 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @2 </td> <td> @5 </td> <td> @8 </td> </tr>
    <tr> <td> @3 </td> <td> @6 </td> <td> @9 </td> </tr>
    In Suffix, use </table> </html>
    You can also add simple calculations like sum etc at the very bottom of these rows as grand totals.

  • T-SQL - Using Column Name in where condition without any references when having multiple tables that are engaged using multiple joins.

    Hi All,
    I am a newbie for T-Sql, I came across a SP where multiple tables are engaged using multiple joins but the where clause contain  a column field without any table reference  and assigned  for an incoming variable,like
    where 'UserId = @UserId'
    instead -  no table reference like 'a.UserId = @Userid'   ............ Can any please do refer to me any material that clears my mind regarding such issue................... help is appreciated.
    Thank You.

    As suggested above, use table alias with columns for unique referencing and to make the code easier to read.
    BOL example for table aliasing:
    USE AdventureWorks;
    GO
    SELECT S.CustomerID, S.Name AS Store, A.City, SP.Name AS State, CR.Name
    AS CountryRegion
    FROM Sales.Store AS S
    JOIN Sales.CustomerAddress AS CA ON CA.CustomerID = S.CustomerID
    JOIN Person.Address AS A ON A.AddressID = CA.AddressID
    JOIN Person.StateProvince SP ON
    SP.StateProvinceID = A.StateProvinceID
    JOIN Person.CountryRegion CR ON
    CR.CountryRegionCode = SP.CountryRegionCode
    ORDER BY S.CustomerID ;
    GO
    GO

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms124824(v=sql.100).aspx
    Check the use of TABLE ALIASes and COLUMN ALIASes in the following blog:
    http://www.sqlusa.com/bestpractices2005/organizationtree/
    Without the use of aliases the code would become unreadable.

  • Using 2 tables framing of dynamic query wherein columns are decided runtime

    Hi Team,
    I had a requirement could anyone help me out or suggest your views. we are using Adf faces as UIlayer and Toplink for dataaccess. In that we had 2 tables systemdefinedTable and userdefinedTable which has one-to-one relation. Userdefinedtable has columns col1,col2,col3.......col50 and this comes at runtime from xml like col1 as Lastname,col2 as firstname.
    Now we need to generate a dynamic query that joins the systemdefinedTable and userdefinedTable to produce the result for the UI layer. Now suppose if the xml has 2 cols tag.
    The dynamic query may look like this:
    Select S.ID, S.NAME, S.STATUS, U.COL1 as FirstName, U.COL2 as LastName
    From userdefinedTable U, systemdefinedTable S
    Where S.QID = U.QID
    Next if the xml has 3 more column tags then COL1,COL2,COL3 ...like wise columns will be decided runtime..So please share your views or any related blogs to achieve this.
    Thanks in Advance for your help.

    Hello,
    If you are using TopLink and need dynamically generated queries, why not use TopLink Expressions for your queries, and return java objects back. Then you can display which ever fields from the fully populated objects that you need.
    See the docs for TopLink queries here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b32441/qryun.htm#autoId28
    A simple example returning all systemdefinedObjects would be:
    ReadAllQuery query = new ReadAllQuery(systemdefinedObject.class);
    query.addJoinedAttribute(query.getExpressionBuilder().get("user"));
    Collection<systemdefinedObject> results = session.executeQuery(query);
    This allows populating the cache and for caching the statements and the query results.
    But I'm not sure exactly what you are after.
    Best Regards,
    Chris

  • ASCP: How do I get the list of 1st level planned orders using msc_full_pegging table

    How do I get the list of 1st level planned orders using msc_full_pegging table, is any one having the script.

    Do you mean supply_type? If so, yes it will be in pegging table as supply_type or otherwise you can join this table with msc_supplies by joining transaction_id column and get the order_type from that which will be the supply type.
    Thanks,

  • Namedquery using same table field multiple times with the use of a label

    Hi all,
    i'm having some trouble with a namedquery. I'm trying to
    use the following namedquery in Toplink to retrive some
    data out of a database.
    select proj.id
    , proj.code
    , proj.name
    , proj.budget
    , proj.status
    , proj.startdate
    , proj.enddate
    , proj.mdr_id projleader_id
    , med_leader.name projleader
    , proj.mdr_id_valt_onder promanager_id
    , med_promanager.name promanager
    , proj.mdr_id_is_account_from accmanager_id
    , med_accmanager.name accmanager
    from uur_projecten proj
    , uur_medewerkers med_leader
    , uur_medewerkers med_promanager
    , uur_medewerkers med_accmanager
    where ( #p_name is not null or #p_search_string is not null )
    and med_leader.id = proj.mdr_id
    and ( proj.mdr_id = nvl( #p_name, proj.mdr_id )
    or proj.mdr_id_valt_onder = nvl( #p_name, proj.mdr_id )
    or proj.mdr_id_is_account_van = nvl( #p_name, proj.mdr_id ))
    and (( #p_status is not null
    and substr( proj.status, 1, 1 ) = upper( #p_status ))
    or ( #p_status is null ))
    and ( upper( proj.code ) like upper( '%' || #p_search_string || '%' )
    or upper( proj.name ) like upper( '%' || #p_search_string || '%' ))
    and med_promanager.id = proj.mdr_id_valt_onder
    and med_accmanager.id = proj.mdr_id_is_account_van
    order by decode( substr( proj.status, 1, 1 )
    , 'A', 2, 'T', 3, 'F', 4, 1 ), proj.code desc
    As you all can see the table ‘uur_medewerkers’ is been used trice to
    determine the name for the corresponding ID. I have a Java class with
    the fields for the results and created a Toplink descriptor to map
    the fields to the database fields.
    The problem is that for the 'projleader', 'promanager' and 'accmanager'
    fields the results are null. The reason is probably that Toplink doesn't
    recognize the fields because of the label for the tables.
    Is there a way to make this work?

    Your query is not too clear so I'll do my best to answer it broadly.
    You mentioned that you have a .NET web application where your users enter data on one screen and then may retrieve it on another. If the data is written in real time to a database then you can create a standard Crystal Report by adding multiple tables. The tables should be linked together using the primary and foreign keys in order to optimize the database query and give you a speedy report. Using unlinked tables is not recommended and requires the report engine to index the tables (it is quite slow).
    You also mentioned you have a "PropID" to be used in a WHERE clause. This is a great place to use a parameter in your report. This parameter can then be used in your record selection formula inside Crystal Reports. The report engine will actually create the WHERE clause for you based on the parameter value. This is helpful because it allows you to simply concentrate on your code rather than keeping track of SQL queries.
    Now, what Crystal does not do well with is uncertainty. When you design a report with X number of tables the report engine expects X number of tables to be available at processing time. You should not surprise the print engine with more or less tables because you could end up with processing errors or incorrect data. You may need to design multiple reports for specific circumstances.
    Regarding the group expert question. I'm not sure how you would/could use the group expert to group a table? A table is a collection of fields and cannot be compared to another table without a complex algorithm. The group expert is used to group and sort records based on a field in the report. Have a look at the group expert section of the help file for more information.
    Hopefully my comments have given you a few ideas.

  • How to process each records in the derived table which i created using cte table using sql server

    I want to process each row from the CTE table I created, how can I traverse from first row to second row and so on....
    how to process each records in the derived table which i created using  cte table using sql server

    Ideally you would be doing a set based processing rather than traversing row by row as thats more efficient. To answer it specific to your scenario we may need more info. Can you explain with some sample data your exact requirement?

    I have a Windows 7 laptop using I tunes 64 and all my music files are
    on an external disc. I rarely use I tunes and at one point moved all my files
    (including the music files) from one external disc to another without
    considering what affect this would have on the I tunes library. When I eventually
    attempted to use I tunes, every selected a song from the library resulted in a
    message stating that the file couldn't be located. After following some of the procedures
    explained in this community I was able to reconnect the library back to where
    the associated music files are presently stored. However, there are still 2
    problems that need to be corrected. 1) Every song file now has a duplicate. One
    file works and the other file will result in the same message stating that the
    file couldn't be located. Before there were 4,000 songs in the library, now
    there are 8,000 songs. I need to eliminate the 4,000 dead song files. 2) All
    the playlists are still associated with the dead song files which makes the
    playlists unusable. Can the playlists be reconnected to the usable files
    without manually having to recreate them? Thanks in advance for the help.

    So am I understanding correctly?
    You used your iPod as a hard drive (drag and drop) instead of having iTunes install the music?
    If you used drag and drop your choices are different than if you used iTunes to transfer.
    Good luck!
