Hi,
The user Administrator for my J2EE Engine had been locked.
Is there a way by which this user can be unlocked.
Please guide me.

I mean in case of an ABAP stack, I can go to the usr02 table and unlock a user by setting the uflag value.
In case of the JAVA only stack,what is the coressponding table at the database level?

Trying to unlock the user, message says " user xyz is still locked"

Hi,
I am trying to unlock a user locked due to incorrect logins, the message "user xyz is still locked" comes up and user is not unlocked. I don't remember seeing this message earlier. SAP 4.7.
Any ideas/suggestions, please.

Can't Login with the User Administrator or the User root

Today i Download the tarantella secure global desktop version 4.2.977 when finish say i can login with the username Administrator and the password of root but i can login only give me again the windows to enter username and password what can i do with this

this is a bug with the 977 build. new build was release today to address this issue.

In cFolders 3.1 , user administration --> Standard Settings tab page:
One can define the default settings for users that will be created
The default settings defined by the user administrator here are the default settings for each user when they enter cFolders.
My question is :- after making this setting as above ,Will all the users created using su01 inherit the default settings ?
What about users replicated from other systems using a batch program which copies them?

I think I replied your other post as well. Anyway, to answer your question - YES, these setting will apply to all users. The way it works is, once the user (created in su01) logs in, these settings will be applied as the defaults. Therefore, it should also work for users replicated from other systems using a batch program.

Restrict the role of User Administrator

Hello all,
I need to know that if it is possible to restrict the Role of an User Administrator to assign only a specific set of Roles to the end user.
For example : The user administrator should be able to assign only say Managers, Employees Roles to the Users and not any other roles like Super Administrators etc.
If so, how can we achieve that?

There is a authorization object (combined with a parameter) that does this restriction:
S_SPO_PAGE
Definition
Using authorization object S_SPO_PAGE, you can restrict the maximum number of pages of a request that can be printed on a particular printer.
This authorization check is only active if profile parameter rspo/auth/pagelimit is set to 1.
Defined fields
SPODEVICE Device name for which the restriction is to apply.
SPOPAGES Maximum number of pages allowed; enter a range (0 to n) here

Restrict permissions to use the groups/users/roles in User Administration

Hello gurus,
I want to find out if there is a way we can restrict permissions to use the GROUPS in User administration. We want to assign the user administration role to the users, but do not want the users to have permissions to DELETE groups from User administration page.
Please also let me know, if we can just have users use the NWA to do the user administration instead of from the Portal?

Koti is right, you need to create custom User administration role from standard role and restric the access in the custom role and assgined to the users.

Hoe to unlock the locked user SAPUSER ????

when i was working with Tcode S002, that is for authorization overview, there i found a Tcode to lock/unlock the user. when i lock the only one existing user SAPUSER, incidently power cut off. now the problem is that, i m not able to log on in my SAP. so how to resolve the problem. plz help immediately??
is there any other way to logon the system instead of SAPUSER?
note: i have only one client 800 and one user SAPUSER..

You can activate SAP* in your system.
If user sap* doesn't exist in your client you can logon with sap* password pass
To activate user SAP* you have to set at operative system level in your instance profile the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 then restart the system.
If the user already exist and you not remember password, delete the user from database (if oracle):
sqlplus /nolog
connect / as sysdba
DELETE * from sapsr3.usr02 where bname='sap*' and mandt=<your client>;
commit;
After this you can login with the SAP* user in 800 client and unlock your user.

Problem while assigining the role to the user

I have creadted one new user and role. then add some worksets which exists in another folder.
when logged to the new user i can able o see the worksets with error message.(which is working fine with old user)

Hello Srinivas,
The issue is not with the user, the problem is with the JCo connection user,
navigate to Content Administration-> Web Dynpro-> Maintain JCo connections.
and Test all the JCo connections which are green and make if there is any error click on edit and check whether the user and password you gave for the connections are working or not.
If the test fails, go to SU01 t.code and change the password or unlock the user. it will resolve the issue.
Most of the cases the user used is locked.

Hi,
Incase if you are having the dual stack, ABAP+ JAVA , you can logon to the ABAP system using either the J2EE_ADMIN or DDIC and use the Tcode -SU01.
As soon as you log on to SU01 you would be asked to enter the user name .
Enter J2EE_GUEST and on the top right hand corner you have an option unlock.
As soon as you unlock, on the left hand side to unlcok, there is a change password option, you can also reset your password there.
Else log into the portal with a J2EE_ADMIN role and in user administration unlock the user

C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool->configtool.bat->open it
1. Click on Secure store
2. Right you will find :
admin/password/J2E->retype your admin passowrd which you gave during installation=>SAVE properly
Restart the server and try login visual admin

PwdAccountLockedTime and unlocking a user

So we are migrating from Directory Server 5.2 to DS6 and have come across the same stumbling block others have had about unlocking accounts in DS6.
We are using Identity Manager to handle our accounts and unlocking of users is done via Identity Manager to the LDAP server.
Back in DS5.2 that basically meant removing the "nsaccountlock" attribute.
Now in DS6 when users lock their accounts from incorrect password guesses, "pwdAccountLockedTime" with a value of "000001010000Z" gets added to the user.
The DS6 man page references for "pwdAccountLockedTime" states "that only a password administrator can unlock the account."

So what constitutes a password administrator ? Our account that Identity Manager uses is in the "ou=Directory Administrators" branch and has an ACI to allow reads/write/deletes,etc to the entire DN.
We tried having this user remove the "pwdAccountLockedTime" to unlock the user, but get constraint violations.
Reading in the forums the only way I've seen people do it is to edit 00ds6pwp.ldif schema file and remove the NO-USER-MODIFICATION flag.
We don't want to do any unsupported hacks.
Is there a way to have our Identity Manager Admin be able to unlock peoples accounts ?
P.S. I've also read it can be done by changing the users password. We don't want that either.

It's been a while since anybody has posted to this topic. Does anybody know this has been changed/corrected since the last post? We also want to just clear the lockout from a higher identity vault driver. The old 5.2 method worked very well and was easy to detect from a geneic ldap browser.
