Oracle 11gR2
I have an ASM group dg1.
I mount the diskgroup on node1. No issue.
I dismount the diskgroup and try to mount it on node2.
I get the following errors:
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15017: diskgroup "DG1" cannot be mounted
ORA-15063: ASM discovered an insufficient number of disks for diskgroup "DG1"
If I wait 15-20 seconds and try again there are no problems.
Any idea what it can be?
Thanks in advance for any clues!Hello Fred,
Did it happened only at startup?
When you try mount, the disks of DG are visible to second node?
Please provide more info about your env, EMC, NetApp, etc.
Cheers,
Rodrigo Mufalani

IMG-00002: unrecoverable error
I'm running Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2.0) on Windows NT.
I've made a function that generate thumbnails. It works perfectly with most of the
pictures but today I tried a photo that causes this error:
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
IMG-00002: unrecoverable error
ORA-06512: at "ORDSYS.ORDIMERRORCODES", line 16
ORA-06512: at "ORDSYS.ORDIMG_PKG", line 115
ORA-06512: at "ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE", line 648
ORA-06512: at "I4.SYS_LIB", line 260
ORA-06512: at "I4.ORG_ADM", line 1388
ORA-06512: at "I4.ORG_ADM", line 1233
ORA-06512: at line 2
The command on I4.SYS_LIB line 260 is:
ordimage.process(v_img, 'maxScale='||p_max_width||' '||p_max_height||'');
where p_max_width = 100 and p_max_height = 150
The picture this command fails on is a JPG with size 919 KB.
It works fine with other bigger photos so I don't understand what happens here.
Image details:
Format: JPEG TrueColor (v1.1)
Width: 2592
Height : 1944
Bits per plane: 24
Origin: Top-left
# of Planes: 1
Colour mode: RGB
Size: 941243 bytes
I've made someJPEG photos that are exacly the same size that work so I just don't get this...
(I know there is a thread with the same heading, but it was a bit different. Searched through the threads without finding exact this problem.)OK, that would be because the image is corrupt.
I guess we did not check the image end.......
When I do imagemagick identity I get:
D:\tmp>identify doesNotWork.jpg
doesNotWork.jpg JPEG 2592x1944 DirectClass 919kb 0.471u 0:01
identify: Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment `doesNotWork.jpg'.
The image displays in a browser (somewhat) but it is truncated....

ORA-15032 and ORA-15177 alter diskgroup rename directory
Hi,
Oracle 11.2.0.1, Oracle Linux 5.5
I would like to do some RMAN testing and for this reason rename an existing directory in an ASM diskgroup, temporarily.
The database 'orcl' instance is shutdown. I have tried the following using the ASM/Grid environment:
Connected to:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
With the Automatic Storage Management option
SQL> alter diskgroup DATA rename directory '+DATA/ORCL' TO '+DATA/OLDORCL';
alter diskgroup DATA rename directory '+DATA/ORCL' TO '+DATA/OLDORCL'

N spfileorcl.ora => +DATA/ORCL/PARAMETERFILE/spfile.270.737565081I also removed the alias inside the ORCL directory, but it does not help. How can I rename the directory?
Thanks.Hi,
Unfortunately we can not do this. It's a shame.
ASM disk groups contain a system-generated hierarchical directory structure for storing ASM files. System created directories (those containing system-generated names) cannot be renamed.

Error ORA-24247 after migrating from 10g to 11g
Hi all,
After a migration from a 10.2.0.3 (32bits) database to a 11.2.0.3 (64bits) database, we are facing a problem related to the UTL_SMTP package. I vale already created a ACL, as you can see below:
-- create acl
BEGIN
DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL (acl => 'user_processos.xml',
description => 'abc',
principal => 'PROCES',
is_grant => TRUE,
privilege => 'connect');
END;
-- assign acl
BEGIN
DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.ASSIGN_ACL (acl => 'user_processos.xml'
host => 'rac-abc',
lower_port => 1521,
upper_port => NULL);
END;The problem is: After we try to execute a procedure that calls UTL_SMTP, with user PROCES the error ORA-24247 is raised. I did some research and they all point to the it is necessary to create an ACL to solve this probles, but the ACL already exists, as you can see above.Hi,
I had the same issue, well multiple issues, with this at first. You should find the solution in one of these links. Make sure you have done each step in the lists and it will work.
[url http://www.ora00600.com/scripts/databaseconfig/ORA-29278.html]ORA-29278 SMTP
[url http://www.ora00600.com/scripts/11g/UTL_SMTP_ORA-06512.html]ORA-06512: at SYS.UTL_SMTP
There are various parameters and configuration steps you need to make sure you have performed for it to work.
Hopefully that helps,
Rob

Error 'ORA-01403 no data found', if a procedure called through $Universe
Hello,
we use at our customer the scheduling software $Universe. The problem follows is happend at calling PL/SQL-procedures within SQL*Plus:
Within the calling procedur another subprogram will be called. This program crashed on select of currval with the error 'ORA-01403 no data found'. This error happens only, if the procedure called through $Universe. If the procedure called directly from SQL*Plus or about a unix shell-script, no error happens.
About the command "select saddr,sid,serial# from sys.V_$SESSION where
username ='xxx';" we select the Session_ID's. These are identically before and after call of the procedure!
Do you have an idea, how the problem can be?
Next information about OS, releases, settings of Oracle-Session-Parameters, and the crashing procedure:

Error ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
Its also not thread just to share info with oracle gurus here.If my findings for the below workaround is wrong then please do correct me.
Sometime you get the error after performing restoring controlfile when you don't have autobackup controlfile on
error ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
why?
Cause When you shutdown the database with using the normal,transactional or immediate options not abort a full checkpoint occurs.A full checkpoint ensures that all of the dirty blocks contained in the buffer cache are written to the data files,the database comes into synchronized state at this time i.e controlfile CKPT SCN=databasefile CKPT.
Like in this demo i am not taking backup the database in opened mode

you will get the error when you will restore controlfile from backup set.
error ORA-01152: file 1 was not restored from a sufficiently old backup
Reason is that CKPT SCN in the datafiles will be ahead of the backupset control file no
full checkpoint occuring. You are not taking backup in consistent state and the
backupset will not be in consistent state.When you will restore the control file from
backupset then yours restored control file SCN will be lesser then yours datafile
checkpoint SCN.

Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist
Hi there folks. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
Anyways, we have a 10.2.0.4 rac primary and a 10.2.0.4 standby physical standby. We recently did a switchover and the dgbroker files automatically got created in the Oracle_home/dbs location of the primary. Now need to move these files to the common ASM DG. For this, I followd the steps from this doc:
How To Move Dataguard Broker Configuration File On ASM Filesystem (Doc ID 839794.1)
The only exception to this case is that I have to do this on a Primary and not a standby so I am disabling and enabling the Primary(and not standby as mentioned in below steps)
To rename the broker configuration files in STANDBY to FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat and FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat, Follow the below steps
1. Disable the standby database from within the broker configuration
DGMGRL> disable database MYSTD;
2. Stop the broker on the standby
SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = FALSE;
3. Set the dg_broker_config_file1 & 2 parameters on the standby to the appropriate location required.
SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file1 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat';
SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file2 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat'
4. Restart the broker on the standby
SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = TRUE
5. From the primary, enable the standby
DGMGRL> enable database MYSTD;
6. Broker configuration files will be created in the new ASM location.
I did so but when I try to enable the Primary back I get this:
Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist
Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL
Form this link,(Errors setting up DataGuard Broker it would seem that I would need to recreate the configuration....Is that correct ? If yes then how come Metalink is missing this info of recreating the configuration... OR is it that that scenario wouldnt be applicable in my case ?
Thanks for your help.Yes I can confirm from the gv$spparameter view that the changes are effective for all 3 instances. From the alert log the alter system didnt throw u pany errros. I didnt restart the instances though since I dont have the approvals yet. But I dont think thats required.

Report error:ORA-06502:character string buffer too small. urgent!!
Hi guys,
My APEX version is 3.0.1.00.08, my application run on my test environment, but on PROD environment, it raised the error:
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
In this page, on the left is a tree, the right side is a tabular form, when I click one tree node, it will pass the current node id to the form and the form will display the children data. When I click some tree node, it will raise the ORA-06502 error, but when click some other nodes, it is correct. I don't know why. And on my test environment, it has no this error, the test environment has same version with prod environment, only has less data in database. Could you help me???
I searched in forum, someone says it's LOV problem, if it's LOV problem, all the nodes should have error, why click some nodes are ok?
Thanks !
JessicaI don't think it is related only to the number of rows but also to the content of the rows. So, counting only the number of rows doesn't say anything about if it is going to work or not. My question: can't you filter those entries? Making a choice between 250 entries in a tabular form isn't a simple task. Using popup-key LOV instead would also be a solution. However, if you use popup-key LOV be aware of the fact that you need two index numbers for those.

Edited by: LazyDBA11g on Aug 12, 2012 4:36 AMHello JK,
Thanks a lot for specific response.
SQL> select INST_ID, NAME, VALUE from gv$parameter where name like '%_listener%';
INST_ID NAME VALUE
1 local_listener (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(AD
DRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xxx_
data1-vip)(PORT=1521))))
1 remote_listener xxxdata-scan:1521
2 local_listener (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(AD
DRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xxx_
data2-vip)(PORT=1521))))
2 remote_listener xxxdata-scan:1521
If I add REMOTE_LISTENER pointing to SCAN ip address, Does it require DB bounce ? (Its production DB)
Regards,
LazyDBA

GSMWas this working before? If yes, any changes have been done recently?
Did you compile the form successfully at the client side before uploading it to the server?
Did you use the TEMPLATE.fmb file to create this custom form?
Not sure what is the code you are using in that form, so posting it may help -- OERR: ORA 1003 no statement parsed [ID 18594.1]
Thanks,
Hussein
