Unresolved std lib methods when packaging mobile app with ANE ios7, mavericks, air sdk 3.9

After converting from ios6.1 / mountain lion to ios 7 / mavericks, my Flash builder mobile actionscript application gets the following unresolved std lib methods when it tries to package the appluication for my ios7 device.  These symbols come from code written from within my native extension (ane) that was created and added in the properties configuration.
This packaged and ran fine on ios6.1 / mountain lion...is there some way that I need to link in the standard library in this scenario (that I didn't have to do before)?
Error occurred while packaging the application:

I solved my issue by setting the _JAVA_OPTIONS environment variable. (Note: there are two underscores)
I added the following line to my .bash_profile:
export _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xms1024m -Xmx4096m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m"
Now everytime a Java program is launched from the command line, I see the following message:
Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS: -Xms1024m -Xmx4096m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
And my application packaging runs just fine now.
I still have an issue though: this trick solved the problem for packaging the app from the command line, but the _JAVA_OPTIONS are not picked up when packaging from Flash Builder, so it still crashes there.
Note that my Adobe Flash Builder 4.6.ini contains the following options:
-Xms512m
-Xmx1676m
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m
-XX:PermSize=64m
1676m is the highest number I can put before Flash Builder refuses to launch. I'm not sure if these parameters are actually passed to the VM that runs de dx.jar program, or if it's just for the ActionScript compiler. But anyway my app packaging still crashes in Flash Builder.
If someone knows a way to force Flash Builder to pickup the _JAVA_OPTIONS set in the command line, let me know :-)
Thanks
Alex

  • Mobile apps with phonegap + mysql ?

    Hi,
i was searching for a long time but didn't find answers. is it possible to show database-driven content within mobile apps made with dreamweaver cs6 ?
If so, are there any examples or tutorials on the adobesite or elsewhere?
Looking forward for any answer :-)

PhoneGap builds mobile apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You cannot use a server-side language, such as PHP, with PhoneGap.
Presumably, you want to connect with a MySQL database on a remote server. To do so, you would need to use Ajax to send and receive data from the MySQL database. You can use jQuery to send and receive data as JSON. PHP has JSON functions that decode and encode data as JSON strings.
How difficult or easy you would find setting this up depends on your knowledge of jQuery and PHP. I don't know of any tutorials that show how to pull everything together for PhoneGap, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find tutorials for using jQuery Ajax to communicate with MySQL.

  • Question about Dreamweaver Native Mobile Apps with PhoneGap

I am trying to determine the best way to build an app for my business.  It doesn't need to be anything fancy, but needs a clean UI that is easy to navigate and interfaces with an online database.  The PhoneGap intergration with Dreamweaver 5.5 seems really intriguing, but before I spend the $650 to upgrade my creative suite, I had some questions.
Doing some research, I have found multiple references to apps created in this way running slowly.  Noticable lapses on button pushes, pages loading slowly, etc.  Is this an issue and if it is, is there any way to get around it?
Idealy, I would deploy my app to both Android and iOS devices, how smoothly does that run?  I have some basic knowledge of both Java and Objective-C, but using dreamweaver seems to be quite a timesaver.
If anyone has any input or comments about using Dreamweaver to create native mobile apps I would love to get some feedback.  Thanks!

  • HP 7510 won't scan from ADF when using mobile app on iPhone or iPad

    Hi,
I have an issue where the mobile app will happily kick off the scan process and the printer looks and sounds like all is fine. But when the scanning is completed, the app says 'there was an error during scanning' and it does not save the scan. This only happens when using the ADF, not when scanning via the scanner glass - it's all fine doing it that way.
I'm running v4.3 of the all in one app which was released in the last week or so. Not sure if it a bug with the app that's causing the issue..
Anyone seen similar issues and resolved?

  • Mobile App problem after update from Flex SDK 4.5 to 4.5.1

I have a mobile app that built in SDK 4.5 and running ok until update the SDK to 4.5.1 and then the app only loads the splash page and not even to to the firstview. The screen just stop at the splash page and no reaction, no debug window popup (test on the computer). If I change back to SDK 4.5, everything goes normal. Does anyone has the same issue? Please help.
I am in Win 7, Flash Builder SDK 4.5.1 plugin in Eclipse Helios.
    Thanks.
    Tony

Thanks for your respond. I wish I could show you my app; however this project is pretty big. Besides the UI part that was built for mobile, there are also part of the codes are including (referenceing) the old desktop project that still are complie in SDK 4.1. Mainly for the referencing codes to the old project are Caingorm's commands and service locators part, for getting the service call. Everything is fine and running on computer and mobile devices when using SDK 4.5.
I can try to build something to see if it will show the same situation. Thanks.

  • Linker error while packaging iOS app with my ANE

This isn't my first Native Extension for iOS. No amount of fiddling around with adding frameworks or libraries in Xcode to the static library works.
Looking for guidance on what to try next to resolve this linker error...

I am also receiving an error related to ___divmodsi4 (using different libraries which use that symbol) which appears to be a compiler level math function. It should be packaged automatically but apparently AIR isn't doing it.  No idea what additional library should be linked, attempts to link the 3rd party libraries (and/or packagedDepenency them) failed.

  • Mobile app with CF

I am trying to figure out how to build a mobile app using Jquery Mobile on the client side and Coldfusion and MySQL on the server side.  It seems very difficult to find a basic example.  Can someone please show me a tutorial that shows how to insert data and then read the data and display it?  All on a mobile phone?  I know this has to be possible but I can't find any documentation.

suppose you had the following form:
                   Submit
you could post it to a remote server by adding a click handler to the button that calls:
    $.ajax
                url: "http://www.domain.com/api/remote.cfc",
                type: "POST",
                data: "method=yourMethod&" + $("#mainForm").serialize(),
                success: function(data)
                      console.log(data);

  • How to use OneDrive for Business mobile app with SharePoint 2013 on-premise?

    Hi All,
I have a SharePoint 2013 (with latest December updates) that host a dedicated personal web site for users.
The OneDrive portal works fine and users are able to sync their files with the OneDrive client for Windows.
Now I want to test the OneDrive for Business mobile app on Android, but there is no option to specify the "personal" portal URL.
It asks only for domain credentials.
Does I need to configure specific records on my public DNS to allow mobile users to sync their files?
    Thanks

I can confirm that with iOS you can connect to your SharePoint server through the advanced options.
But the very strange thing is that the OneDrive version for Windows Phone 8.1 is limited as the Android version.
    This has no sense.
Why does Microsoft should limit the Business functions on its mobile operating system, and not on iOS?
Another strange thing is that configuring my Exchange account, Windows Phone 8.1 informed me that it has connected OneDrive for business (but is a fake information).
    See attached image.
If I open the built-in OneDrive app, it give me the option to add a OneDrive for business account, but is only for Office 365 users (like with the Android version).
I thing that Microsoft should let at least to Windows Phone users to connect to on-premise SharePoint sites.

  • Function not found when package name exists with same name as schema name

Hi all, any help would be appreciated :)
I found an issue with pl/sql resolving a functions location when the db has a package name with the same as the db schema name.
    My example:
-- arbitrary test function, not in any package
    create or replace FUNCTION testFunc
         inTest     IN VARCHAR2
    RETURN VARCHAR2
    AS
    BEGIN
    RETURN 'a';
    END;
-- There is a package called "FM" with functions that are not referenced or used in this example and the db schema is "FM".
-- The following PL/SQL fails with the message: "ORA-00904: "FM"."TESTFUNC": invalid identifier"
    select cursor (select testFunc('a') from dual) from dual;
    -- The following PL/SQL works:
    select * from (select testFunc('a') from dual);
As mentioned the function testFunc is NOT in the FM package. This issue does not happen when I remove the FM package. So it seems like there is an issue with cursors calling functions when there exists any package with the same name as the db schema.
Can anyone tell me why this happens and also what I can add to force the function that is not in any package to be referenced (without Oracle trying to look in the FM package)?
    DB: Oracle 11.2.0.2
    thanks!
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
In general I would not advice to have schema and objects with the same name.
Here is what documentation is saying here: How Name Resolution Differs in PL/SQL and SQL
PL/SQL uses the same name-resolution rules as SQL when the PL/SQL compiler processes a SQL statement, such as a DML statement. For example, for a name such as HR.JOBS, SQL matches objects in the HR schema first, then packages, types, tables, and views in the current schema.
PL/SQL uses a different order to resolve names in PL/SQL statements such as assignments and subprogram calls. In the case of a name HR.JOBS, PL/SQL searches first for packages, types, tables, and views named HR in the current schema, then for objects in the HR schema. As you can see above when using PL/SQL for your case Oracle searches first for packages, types, tables, and views named FM in the current schema, then for objects in the FM schema.
And because a package FM is found it is raising an error due to the fact that the procedure could not be found in that package.
    I hope this clarify.
    Regards.
    Al

  • Dreamweaver CS5.5 Mobile Apps with PHP and MYSQL?

    Hello,
I don't have Dreamweaver CS5.5 yet and I've been trying to search for information on this but I couldn't find any. I've been learning PHP and been developing with MYSQL with Dreamweaver CS5 but I wanted to know if I can use the same tags and everything if I would to build a Mobile App using the new Dreamweaver CS5.5 (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs-55-web-premium-feature-tour-/dreamweaver-cs-55-jquery-mobile- pages/). I overlooked at the video and it seems pretty easy building an app. So is PHP and MYSQL easily integratable? Are there any examples that I might be able to check out?
    Thanks!

No. PHP is a server-side scripting language that requires a server (or server-like environment) to run.
An iPhone (or Android) application does not allow for a "built-in" server (which is resource intensive and has scary security implications). You just can't build an application with PHP/MySQL for a mobile device. Instead you can build a web service that your HTML/JavaScript mobile application can then communicate with. This is the only supported way you can use PHP/MySQL in a mobile app. Again: the PHP/MySQL should reside on a server and your HTML/JS mobile app can then communicate with that web service. That's what instapaper and other applications do.
Frankly, just make a web application that's mobile device friendly and you'll:
    1) Avoid all the messiness of the app stores
    2) Have greater control over what your web app can do (don't have to tow the Apple/Google line)
    3) Have a web app that can work across mulitple mobile devices as well as standard web browsers (i.e. more audience = more $).
    4) Future proof your application (pushing updates to your server and everyone using your web app is updated)
Otherwise, read-up on Adobe AIR and what it supports and remember, the best apps are written natively for the platform (i.e. want to write an app for an iPhone? Learn Objective-C and use xCode on a Mac. Want to write an app for Motorola Xoom? Learn the Android SDK and use inteliJ).

  • How to build database driven mobile apps with dreamweaver and phonegap?

    Hi all,
I'm searching the easiest way to implement a simple database in my app.
I can build application with php/mysql in seconds with dreamweaver.
But how can I do something similar with dreamweaver cs5.5 and phonegap for mobile apps?
I would like to create a little app that pulls data from a mysql database on my webserver.
But it seems that dreamweaver/phonegap/jquery mobile work only with HTML files.
I searched the whole web for a day now but I haven't found anything easy to recreate.
Is there a tutorial that explains the basic of database for mobile in dreamweaver?
It seems a bit limitating to use dreamweaver to build only static/useless apps....
What about forms and data validation?
    TIA for any help.
    tony

@idesdema: Have a look at this tutorial: http://www.codeforest.net/jquery-mobile-advanced-tutorial-rss-reader-app
It includes a demo as well as a download link to the source files.
Also, if you want to take it a step further, you can create & manage a 'local database' without having to access anything remotely - basically handling everything at the client's end.
    There's a tutorial for that here: http://the-jquerymobile-tutorial.org/jquery-mobile-tutorial-CH22.php
    Good luck.

  • Kind Chef mobile app, used Starling and Adobe AIR

    Hi everyone,
Recently we were busily working on an idea called "KindChef" which is a system that helps restaurants and we as customers.
We have started a campaign for it on Indiegogo site, which is a crowdfunding site backed by Google as some of you may have heard about it, so that we can find the ones who are interested in the idea and can back us and contribute to it to help us make it happen...
here is the campaign link: http://igg.me/at/kindchef/x/5769968
We have developed a MVP (Minimum viable product) mobile app for it, using Starling and Adobe AIR. But it's not the end product and is not so optimized yet. It's just a sample app to show how the system works, but yet so many other features will be added to it's release version as we have discussed on the campaign page.
We're also going to develop a control panel for restaurants too to manage their restaurant better. we're also going to develop a desktop app for them using Adobe AIR.
Honestly, there are two reasons why I am talking about it here:
    1) the  Web developer’s perks, which provides AS3 programmers with many useful designs and OOP code snippets that we have used while developing the project and can help you a lot on your projects.
Also we are giving away all of the Adobe AIR Native Extensions that have been used inside of the project.
    2) the second reason is to spread the word. Because sharing a campaign is a really important thing as Indiegogo counts this as a positive point for the campaigns, so if you just share it you have helped us a lot in our way,  or you may also contribute to it
Please visit the link above and find more information about it for yourself.
The most important way that you can help us, is by sharing the campaign link with your friends.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the whole idea and system or the app.
    Best,
    MyFlashlab team.

  • Question About what Azure Services I should be using for mobile app with website.

    Hello,
I am wondering what Azure service would be best for my new application. I need to have an SQL database that I can connect to and modify from both a website and a mobile app preferably WP8 and Android. I was not really understanding whether I would need a
mobile service or normal SQL database. Which should I use or am I completely off track?
    Thanks,
    Matthias

Mobile Services uses SQL Database, nothing special on that SQL Database, its just like any other  "normal" SQL Database.
Mobile Services provides "back-end services" that simplifies accessing SQL Database, Notification services, authentication, etc...
Let's assume you don't use Mobile Services, to use SQL Database, you would need your app (both mobile and web) to connect to the database. In practice, you will not want to expose your SQL database directly, so you'd end-up writing some kind of a "facade"
that your app will access instead of directly connecting to the database.
Instead of writing that "facade", Mobile services provides that for you (you still have to write code though, but less than what you need to write if you're rolling your own).
Both your web app and mobile apps can share the same SQL database (pay attention to the mobile service schema).
To help you decide, ask yourself what other features will your mobile app require? Authentication? Notification? etc... are you prepared to write those on your own or use various libraries instead of one?
