Unselect/Deselect a row selection in a scorecard

I searched around and couldn't find an answer that will work for my scenario. I have a dashboard that has several levels of combo box filtering to get to the set of data a user wants. Once there, there are two scorecard tables at the bottom of the page where they have a combo box drop down for each to select dimensions to view. From these tables, they can select a row to further filter the data based on their selection. What I'd like is a way to reset just the selection(s) from one or both of the scorecards without changing the selections made in the other combo boxes to get to the dataset. I have a reset button in there which completely clears out all selections which is great, except that won't solve this issue. Ideally I want the users to click on the same selected row again to "deselect" that selection and have it revert back to it's original state but that doesn't seem to be an option. Any ideas? Hi Christopher,
You can have a Push button with label named "Deselect" next to the combo box with Source linked to a blank cell and destination linked to the destination cell of the combo box. So after a particular selection , if you want to reset that combo box alone, just click on the push button which will clear the data in the destination cell of the combo box. You can have this format as the primary idea and make use in your dashboard and enhnace it accordingly.

from ...You didn't say how you want to use this, but when the page is submitted the array apex_application.g_f01 may contain either none or exactly one element, which will be the some_unique_column value of the selected row.

Select or deselect multiple rows with one single selection event

Does anyone know how to create a JTable which can select or deselect multiple rows with one single selection event in JTable. Fore example, if the table has

row2
row3
row4
row5
row6
What I need is when user select row1 or row2, both row1 and row2 should be set to be selected. Then if user press CTRL and click one of row3 or row4, both of them should be selected including the previouse selected row1 and row2.
For deselection, if row1 and row2 are selected, when users deselect one of row1 or row2, both of them should be deselected.
Hopefully someone can give me a hint.

Here is a partial solution using a JList. Only one line gets highlighted when the user makes a selection in the list. But, two lines are returned. There is a blank line between every two lines.

How to avoid table refresh on row selection

I have a table where the row selection happens on selecting the check box in the first column of the row. The check box is bound to the transient Boolean attribute of my VO to support this functionality which is missing in new version of ADF. The selection is working fine, however I am facing the issue with table refresh. Everytime I click checkbox to select or unselect a row my whole table is getting refreshed which is very unusual for user point of view. This is my code for the checkbox column:

I have to keep autoSubmit="true" on selectBooleanCheckbox because the table has to change color of the row everytime the checkbox is selected or deselected. Also, there are multiple commandToolbarButton such as "Delete" which needs to be enabled/disabled depending on the row selection.
Is there anyway, I can achieve this behaviour with minimal refresh of table?

Yes I do have Add and Delete toolbar button in the panelCollection and also set partialTrigger="tableId" on them. I need this partialTriggers because Delete button should enable/disable depending on number of rows added in the table. However, I tried removing them but it did not work for me, table is still refreshing. BUT this solution does work in combination of other solution i.e. removing ChangeEventPolicy="ppr" on the iterator. I need ppr because I have a form which is bound to the same iterator and should change on table selection. The design is like this,
- Read-only Table on top
- Editable Form below
- Select the row in table and edit the fields in the form
If I remove ppr then my form is not updating with the row selection.

Help needed in row selection in Tabular form across pages

I have a tabular form report similar to http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:95. I want to select some rows from first page and then use the pagination to get to the next page, select some more rows and hit the submit button for processing. The rows selected in the last page alone are picked up for processing, and the ones selected in the earlier pages are lost. I see the same behaviour in Denes' example as well. I picked a row in the first page and a row in the next page, and then click "Pick Records", i see only the record i picked on the second page.
I did play around with "partial page refresh" setting for the tabular form region, but that does not help.
Is there a way to select across pages in a tabular form?

Okay. I could make this work, but this seems to be a roundabout way for me. In my case I dont have any database related query to get the values, hence the Application level process may not be needed.
When I select the checkbox, i get the value. I am hoping that I should be able to send the value to a javascript function and update the filed value in the function itself. Please see the function below..

This function works fine in making up the list. The issue is, when an already selected row is unselected, the value of the checkbox gets added one more time :) If I detect the checkbox status and subtract the corresponding value, this will be perfect..

Is it possible to enable/disable table row selection?

I have a situation where a user can add rows to a "selection" table with a value that is used to perform a query to get a collection of objects associated with that value. Once those objects are available, a second "results" table will be populated with the row(s) returned. When the value is entered in the selection table, a web service call is made to perform the query and return the results. This may take a few moments and I am displaying an indeterminate progress indicator for the selection table row involved to indicate that the data is not yet available - the progress indicator is included as a column in the row; each row has its own indicator. Once the results are received the indicator is hidden to indicate the query for that row has completed. The user may enter as many rows in the selection table as they wish so there is a distinct possibility of multiple queries being executed at a given time. I have also attached a row selection listener to the selection table such that when a given row is selected, the results table will display the corresponding associated row(s).
What I'd like to be able to do is somehow temporarily disable the selection of any row that has a query in progress, while leaving other rows whose queries have completed be selectable. Once the query completes, the row can then become selectable, thus allowing for the results to be loaded and displayed in the results table. The way it works right now, if the row is selected while the query is still in progress, nothing is displayed (obviously), but then the row has to be re-selected after the query has completed to see the results. This is a viable (though undesirable) solution/workaround if there is at least one other row in the table. However, if the row is the only row in the table and has been selected, it cannot be re-selected (there's no other row to select to allow for re-selection). To boil it down, what I'd like to do is prevent the selection of the row until the query for that row is complete.
After perusing the JavaFX 2.2 API, I'm not seeing any obvious way to achieve this effect. If anyone has any solutions, suggestions, etc. on how this could be done I'd appreciate it greatly.

As predicted, keyboard navigation fails if the keyboard presses would result in an unselectable item being selected using the default selection model. The best workaround I can see for this is to register event filters for the appropriate keyboard strokes, as in the previously referenced thread.

Unselect all the rows when display my table the first time

When I execute my webdynpro the first time my table is displayed with the first row selected, but this is false, this line is not selected.
If i execute the method get_selected_elements don't return anything in the table, but if i do a Click in this row then works fine.
I tried to unselect all the rows when i display the table the first time in the method WDDOINIT doing the following;

You don't need to DE-SELECT each element of the context node.
You can try the following:
lo_node->set_lead_selection_index( -1 ).
"lo_node is the context node which is bound to your table.

In your view go to the method WDDOMODIFYVIEW and use the following code to deselect the row.
DATA: o_node_output_data TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
o_node_output_data = wd_context->get_child_node( name = '<context table name>' ).
o_node_output_data->set_lead_selection_index( o_node_output_data->no_selection ).

How to unselect / deselect a radio button in Reader?

How do you unselect / deselect a radio button in Reader? Like if you have a group of radio buttons with three choices, and the end-user selects one but then wants to unselect / deselect the choice and leave that radio button group blank / unanswered.

You should be able to go to the Forms menu, and the last option is to clear the fields. It will take all of the information out of the form, but it will also clear out the radio buttons. I hope that this helps! Have a great day!

Tableview disappears on row-selection

hi all,
the data in my tableview is huge and if i try to select any row, the tableview completely disappears for a long time and when it appears, the row remains unselected. Same thing happens for any other event on tableview like scrolling through it .
In layout, the debugger hangs on for a long time at "visibleRowCount".
someone plz suggest what should be checked in such cases.

Yeah, i have used an iterator for setting field order (there are around 46 fields).
Can this be the reason? But i am creating the iterator object in "oninitialization" event and i make sure that this code(iterator object creation) does not run on "row selection" .
I tried to debug the code in events, there it even shows which particular row was selected (in selectedrowindex). After debugger finishes, the tableview disappears.
Do i need to do something in iterator?

Multiple row select for table not working..

Hi Experts,
I have a table in ABAP Web Dynpro where I have enabled the multiple row select functionality. I can select all and deselect all. I can also select a block of adjacent rows of table by choosing first and last by pressing Shift key.
But I am not able to select multiple individual records for that table.
I tried the same thing in different system and it works fine there.
Please let me know if we are missing some standard plugin or we need to enable this in some settings.
System where the issue is:

Problem is that when i select single row checkBox, onCheck() method of backing bean gets called multiple times(equals to the number of rows)
I think this is beacuse of <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id is same that is "checkbox" but i am not sure.Even i tried to assign some unique id but no any success in assigning Id with value Expression.

Error(64,37): Static attribute must be a String literal, its illegal to specify an expression.

Multiple row selection for table element

I have a requirement where I require to select multiple rows from a table element in a WD for abap application.
I have defined a node with cardinality and selection set to 1..n.
The contex node contains 4 fields : emp_name, pernr, manager and position.
The attributes of the table element for selectionmode is set to 'multi' and 'selectionchangebehaviour' is set to 'auto'.
I have defined an action on the 'onleadselection' event.
The code in this method also includes the statement 'lo_el_team_view->set_selected( EXPORTING flag = abap_true ).'
When I execute the application only 1 row is highlighted at any one time when I select it. You can select multiple rows by holding down the 'ctrl' key but I want to avoid having to do this. Is there anything I have missed out causing multiple row selections not to be all highlighted.

How to dynamically display the data from a table base on row selection of another table in ADF

I have a requirement in ADF. I need to change the data of a table based on row selection of another Table . Both the table have a Parent Child relationship between them. They have a common attribute say department_id.
                                                                                     For this I created bind variable in view object of employees table and wrote a where clause in the sql query using that bind variable. Then I created method for selection listener of department Table in java bean.
My method is following

It is printing the selected value of department id from department table in the log. But it is not able to pass the value to employees view. It is showing the following error in the log
"Definition DepartmentId of type Variable is not found in EmployeesView1."
I will be very thankful if someone helps me to solve this errror or is there any other way to achieve the same requirement.

Note quite sure why you simply wont create a viewlink for the viewobject the tables are based on..
The viewlink attribute will be based on the departmentId and it's a simple master detail relationship which automatically uses ppr.
However, if both tables are on the same page; using your hack about;
On the underlying viewobject, define a viewcriteria e.g. "listById" and set your bind variable here.
