Unsupported Configuration

When Protected Mode cannot launch due to an unsupported configuration, a dialog alerts me that Protected mode is unavailable.
“Adobe Reader cannot open in Protected Mode due to a problem with your system configuration. Would you like to open Adobe Reader with Protected Mode disabled?”
How to fix this?
Thank you in advance!

Hi adriel0415,
Can you please let me know more details about your system configuration and also let me know the following.
1) Were you able to use earlier versions of Reader on the same system before? (Like Reader XI or Reader X). If yes, which version then ?
2) OS - Windows 8 Single Language 64bit Build 9200 . Which language?
3) Is there any other encryption software installed on your machine ?
4) Are there any AnitiVirus/ AntiSpyware softwares in your machine ?
5) If possible can you send me the complete snapshot of process explorer on your machine . You can send me that as a private message too.

  • CWMS 2.0 Error:unsupported Configuration-IRP not Receiving Network Packets

    Hi,
I am having a 50 user deployment non redundant setup using non split DNS.The version used for deployment is  CWMS 2.0.1.107B-AE .I have configured the ports as per the planning guide for manual deplyment, public access and Non split DNS. Forward and Reverse DNS Entries for  are also configured
After deploying the vmmachine at the end ,during the system check i get an error showing that the irp in the DMZ is not able to receive network packets and thus the deployment status is shown as Unsupported Configuration
Attaching the error received. How do I troubleshoot this?Has anyone come across this error?

    Hi,
You are definitely experiencing a network connectivity issue between the Admin and IRP VMs. Please, ensure that PING (ICMP) is allowed between the Admin and IRP VMs as well as all other required  ports (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/collaboration/CWMS/2_0/Planning_Guide/Planning_Guide_chapter_011.html#reference_CB65D7FE4B3746DDAF1649884AD777CE). Also, ensure that DNS server is reachable from internal and DMZ networks.
Furthermore, I can see that you are using domain.internal for your VM domains. Per Certification Authority announcements, they will stop issuing SSL certificates for internal domains next year (http://www.digicert.com/internal-names.htm) so it might be good to assign a valid domain name for your VMs. This is not related to the current issue you are seeing, but can help you avoid issues with SSL certs in the future.

  • Mac Mini Intel Duo - Quartz Composer - Unsupported Configuration ?

    Hello Group,
Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1.66 with 1GB RAM
I cant seem to be able to get Quartz Composer to open a qtz file. When I try to open the RSS visualizer screen saver file, Quartz tries to open iot, and then displays a message saying that I need an Nvidia or ATI card and 16mB of VRAM or more.
System profiler doesnt have any info on graphics/displays below the display line on the roght side.
This Mini is accessed using Remote Desktop/VNC/SSH only.
It does not have a monitor attached (only the DVI-VGA adapter is attached).
Would this be the reason Quartz Composer will not open the qtz files ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Unsupported VM configuration.

I've been looking through every reference I can find regarding this error but have not been able to come to anything that has helped yet.
Configuration:  4 Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter with Hyper-V, 256 GB.  VMs are stored on SMB3 shares.  Have two physical disks - witness and CSV.  About 30 VMs spread across all nodes.
SCVMM 2012 R2 with UR4.  Configured in HA mode.  Each has 4 vCPUs and 8GB of fixed memory assigned.
SQL Server 2012 SP1 4-node cluster. Each has 16 vCPUs and 16 GB of fixed memory.  Cluster has all the databases installed for a full System Center deployment.  All databases and log files are stored on SMB 3 shares except for SQL Server Analysis
Services.  SSAS does not yet support SMB storage so I configured two shared VHDX files on the CSV for this purpose.  The SQL cluster also serves as the highly available file service for the VMM library.  This is another shared VHDX file on the
    CSV.
Everything had been working fine.  I was able to live migrate VMs across all nodes and all SQL instances across all SQL nodes.  Was not having any issues.
Yesterday at some time the four SQL VMs changed status within VMM to "Unsupported VM Configuration".  All other VMs are reporting fine.  The SQL VMs are running just fine.  Everything in Hyper-V Manager and Cluster Manager works
fine.  The problem seems to only exist in the 'mind' of SCVMM.  I've tried stopping/starting the VMs.  I've tried rebooting the hosts.  I've refreshed after any change and these four SQL VMs just seem stuck in an unsupported configuration.
I can call up the properties of the VMs, but they show a bogus configuration.  It shows a single vCPU instead of the 16 that are assigned, yet it does show the 16GB of memory associate.  It shows a SCSI controller (Gen 2 VM), but no devices, whereas
from the cluster or Hyper-V managers the proper drives are shown as configured.
Nothing I have tried has cleared this. Looking for additional suggestions - even if it means going into the SQL database and clearing it out (for which I would need detailed instructions).  I've seen VMM get things in its database improperly in the
past that could be cleared only by going directly against the database.
    . : | : . : | : . tim

I'll have to tuck that one away for future reference.  After spending hours on it, I think I cleared it up.  The interesting thing is that it did not clear up as soon as the 'fix' was in place, but it is the only thing I can think of that made
    a difference.
The SQL VMs that were showing 'unsupported VM configuration' each had three NICs defined.  Two NICs were actively being used - one was the cluster and client access NIC and the other was an SMB NIC to access storage.  The third NIC was in there
for a potential configuration change.  The third NIC was not assigned to an switch - in other words it was showing up in the VMs with disconnected media.  No big deal, I thought, I've had that in lots of VMs with nary an issue in the past.
The only difference was that even though it was not assigned to any switch, I had selected the option for VLAN tagging and a tag was set.  Again, no big deal, or so I thought.  I finally decided to remove the unassigned NIC.  Removed it from
all VMs and refreshed SCVMM.  No change.  But, I come back this morning, and all the VMs are reporting fine.  Evidently some other 'refresh' over night took the latest change into consideration.
Chalk it up to another one of SCVMM's idiosyncratic behaviors.  This is not the first time I have spent a lot of time attempting to trace down something SCVMM thinks is wrong but Hyper-V and Clustering have no issues with it.
Thanks for a new way to try.  As I say, I'm going to try to tuck that one away for future use.

  • UCCX Best Practice - UCM Agent Line Configuration documentation

With UCCX, I have always abided by some rules when it came to configuration of the agent's line in CUCM.  At least to be a TAC supported solution anyway.  For Example:
    1. Agent Extension can not be shared
    2. Agent Exension not part of any CUCM hunt group or call pickup group
    3. Call Waiting Disabled Max/Busy 2/1
    4. Agent Extension should not take inbound calls
    5. Agent extensions not set to CFNA
    6. etc....
I had someone ask me to back this up with some sort of documentation.  I reviewed the UCCX 7.x SRND and could not find anywhere explicitly talking about CUCM configuration.
Does anyone know if this type of information is documented?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shane

    Shane,
Look at the release notes for your version of UCCX. They typically have a
section called "Unsupported Features in Unified CM". There is also a
section on "Unsupported and Supported Actions" and general "Unsupported
    Configurations in Cisco Unified CCX".
    Release notes URL:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/custcosw/ps1846/prod_release_notes_li
    st.html
You won't find the data in the SRND for whatever reason.

  • WLC HA Configuration - Recommended Precedure for Software Update

    Hello,
just some best-practise questions regarding the new HA feature of 7.3 code:
With use of AP-SSO and the hot-standby controller, as I understand during software update on the primary controller the code is copied to the hot-standby controller in the background. In case of any failure (e.g. unsupported configuration or feature) there is no chance to use temporarily an controller running the old software version. Furthermore, with HA I loose the possibility to test a new software feature on an updated secondary controller.
Is this true or is there another possibility to "get some confidence" regarding software updates with HA? Any ideas are welcome.
    Thank you,
    Benjamin

Well, to sort of answer your question.  If your only WLC's you have is the two in HA, then you do loose the functionality of upgrading one and performing some test before you upgrade the other WLC and move aps to it.  Some companies I have done work with do have a lab environment with spare WLC's and they can do this.  What I would suggest is that you either post in the forum if others have upgraded their HA WLC's and see how long they have had it up and if they have had or seen any issues.  Even if you had another WLC and tested with that, testing with another HA pair would be the way I would go about verifying things work okay.  You never know if there is an issue with the code that just affects HA and that would be my concern.
    Thanks,

  • Reporting Services in both SharePoint 2013 connected and native mode?

Is it possible to configure Reporting Services (SQL Server 2014) to support both SharePoint 2013 connected mode and local Report Server in native mode on the same server using multiple instances of RS? The reason for this setup is to avoid having to purchase
SharePoint Enterprise CALs for other users than analysts and still be able to publish standard reports to all employees.
Management and analysts -> Custom reports published through SharePoint 2013 Enterprise (SP2013 ECALs and SQL Server 2014 core license). Data alerts and Power View enabled if possible.
All employees -> Standard reports published through Native Mode Report Server (SQL Server 2014 core license). Possible subscriptions.
I find the official documentation a bit lacking in this area but can't find anything stating against the above. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could confirm before planning the installs.
What I'm aiming for is somewhat similar to the "2 Tier Topology" described at: Example
License Topologies and Costs for SQL Server 2014 Self-Service Business Intelligence
With the difference that there is a separate SQL Server 2014 server used both by SharePoint and as a standalone BI-server.
SharePoint EE + SQL Server 2014 EE
    Excel Services
SSRS Add-in (Reporting Services, Power View)
SQL Server DB for SP Content, Configuration and Service Application DB:s
SQL Server 2014 EE - SharePoint + Standalone for BI
    SSRS SharePoint Mode
    SSRS Native Mode
SSAS (Not in SharePoint mode, skipping PowerPivot for now. Would Power View still work?)
SQL Server DB for Data Warehouse
= 1 x SharePoint EE Server Licence, 2 x SQL Server 2014 EE Server Licenses?
    Deployment
Topologies for SQL Server BI Features in SharePoint - Actually gives a good overview in the section "PowerPivot for SharePoint
2013 and Reporting Services Three Server Deployment". Just remove PowerPivot Service from Server 1 and change the Analysis Services in Server 2 to a regular native multidimensional mode. Server 2 would also be used for native Reporting Services.
Fallback or even beneficial option to install SSRS in SharePoint mode on the SQL Server instance used for content and configuration?

    Hi Daniel Wikar,
As per my understanding, you want to install two SQL Server instances on the same server, and configure one of the Reporting Services to SharePoint integrated mode, another to native mode.
According to my knowledge, multiple instances of Reporting Services on the same computer, where one instance runs in SharePoint integrated mode and the other instance runs in native mode is supported. But we must run all report server instances at the same
level. For example, if we are using SQL Server 2014, all report server instances must be SQL Server 2014.
Besides, Analysis Services and Reporting Services can be installed as standalone servers, in scale-out configurations, or as shared service applications in a SharePoint farm. Installing the services in a farm enables BI features that are only available in
SharePoint, including PowerPivot for SharePoint and Power View.

  • Problem with Java-based application and WebVPN

Hello. Could you please help me in find out any specification/known limitations in using Java-based applications through WebVPN in Cisco ASA 5520 v8.3(2).
A customer of mine has got in trouble in using a Java viewer for graphical files that is invoked by another application (this one correctly served via WebVPN), that cannot be launched because JVM does not find it (NullPointer).
Our suspects are generically about the URL rewriting of the WebVPN and/or unsupported configuration in the ASA SSL certificates vs Java.
Any hint about where to search or what to try?

  • Cinema display sound problem after Mavericks update

Since I updated to Mavericks, sound only comes from my laptop speakers, instead of from my LED Cinema display's speakers. And when I look at Sound in Preferences, there is no longer the option to change the sound source. Anyone come across this and know how to fix it? Thanks.

    Hey there Kravmafan,
It sounds like you are not getting the sound options you are expecting when using a cinema display. I would suggest using these troubleshooting steps from the following article, named:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1573
Try unplugging the video adapter or cable and then plug it back in.
If more than one video adapter is in use (or "daisy-chained"), troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.

  • I have an HDMI to mini DVI cable issue!

Recently my cable i use for my TV stopped working and i can't sort out why. when connected, my computer goes blank (black) and yet if a video is playing i can hear it. problem is i cant seem to get out of the black screen even if i disconnect from the TV. i have to shut down the computer manually because it seems to be stuck. what could it be??? bad cable? bad port? i do not leave my computer connected all the time, so could it be plugging and unplugging the cable from the computer? it worked simply for the longest time so i can't imagine what happened. i heard maybe a mini DVI/HDMI adapter on my computer might be a good idea too. please advise.

    Hi hayesjdr78,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you no longer see video when connecting your Mac to your TV, try these steps first:
    Check connections
When using an external display be sure to check the following:
If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:

    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
    Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
