Unwanted Duplicate JButtons

I'm creating a JPanel class which contains a JLabel and two JButtons. The problem is that both JPanel add button statements:
this.add(myJButton, new XYConstraints(5, 165, 30, 30));
Are creating extra JButtons, but ones that apear in the defalt position and are of a default size (so these extra buttons are added wth these statements, but ignore the XYConstraints). What could be causing this?

Thanks, but I just got it. These button adds were in an init() method called once from the constructor and once from the supeclass.

  • Deleting some photos in album; unwanted duplicate photos appear

I am a new Aperture 3 user. I imported photos from iphoto, and some appeared as dupliocates. I edited one of the copies, and then tried to delete the unwanted duplicate from the album, and I am not able to do so. Help!!

I've been hunting around for the "missing" photos and I looked in the iphoto library folder on my hard drive and found a folder called albumdata.xml. Inside were all of the albums and lists of numbers that obviously correspond to photos, but which don't have obvious correlations. Does anyone know how to find out how iphoto numbers the photos in my library so I can quickly find these photos and put them back in my book? I have over 5000 photos, and chose 200 of them for the book. I could go back through all 5000, but I'd rather start from where I left off, or at least use the data that is stored for the book, even if these photos aren't showin gin the "unplaced photos" area. Thank you!
    By the way - for clarity, here is what I found for my book in the xml file: "AlbumName Birth Book KeyList 1362 1372 1326 1352 1324 1345 1342 1336 1331 1234 1299 1292 1286 1285 1258 1436 1437 1441 1447 1461 1563 1470 1467 1573 1576 1546 1543 1542 1541 1555 1595 1553 1583 1622 1634 1653 1662 1690 1700 1735 1738 1744 1812 526 1835 1959 2253 2264 2309 2323 2360 2361 2370 2377 2305 1918 485 515 448 909 913 928 953 957 961 978 989 1019 1176 1184 1209 3179 3054 3064 3193 3452 3462 3339 3470 3483 3487 3512 3537 3549 3558 3373 3563 3697 3708 4004 4038 4042 4052 4060 4090 4102 4116 4182 4284 4582 4634 4636 4704 4758 4764 4775 4839 4789 4791 4821 4813 4980 5405 5429 5461 5517 5548 5716 5574 5638 6709 6711 6685 6445 6451 7082 7128 7132 7140 7176 7401 7405 7407 7598 7600 7750 7808 7928 10882 10894 9181 9329 9365 9959 10117 10125 10133 10157 10175 10209 10219 10263 10433 8304 8320 8350 8396 8424 8456 8600 8608 8646 8696 8742 8820 10904 10908 8210 8214 8872 10653 10657 10675 10924 10938 10950 10992 10994 11004 11008 11012 11410 11420 11444 11456 11462 11468 11510 11516 11530 11532 11534 11544 11550 11552 11556 11558 11562 11564 11590 11646 11658 11829 11847 11895 11899 11901 Album Type Book PhotoCount 207"

  • Adobe Acrobat combining multiple pdf files causes unwanted duplicates

    Hello All,
We're having an issue trying to combine multiple pdf documents into a single file. It doesn't happen all of the time, but what happens is the final pdf will have duplicate pages in them. A file that should only have 7 pages will have 14, the last 7 being repeats of the first 7. Has anyone encountered this issue and know how to resolve it? We're still using Acrobat 7 on Windows XP. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, but they're not dynamic forms with specific names, just straight up pdf documents with text and images. They are invoices from an automated process that create the pdf documents. The process itself does not use dynamic forms with specified field names. Not to mention every document created is exactly the same except for the customer info and images. The individual documents are then manually combined together by an office person and that is where we're having the problem. The issue does not happen all the time, just occasionally. Sorry if I didn't specify this in my original post.

  • Unwanted duplicates when saving pdf's in Reader

Compared to other problems, more of an inconvenience -
    but time consuming none-the-less:
    using Adobe Reader 10.1.1
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74):
when I request to "save as" a pdf,
Reader will save a duplicate copy -
to both the location I specify (with a chosenfilename.pdf)
    as well as
    to my desktop (with originalfilename.pdf).
This has been happening for the last several itterations of Reader,
but did not happen with Reader version 9.
Suggestions on how to augment this duplication so that
only my specified copy, with specified location and filename,
    is saved?

There is nothing Reader is doing that could be the cause of this. Where are you doing a save as from? Where is the original file? The two possible causes or human error (we can figure out if you are doing something to cause this) or machine error (your hard drive is corrupt with cross directories, this means you need to either erase your drive and restore from backup or try to boot from your hidden OS X.7 Restore partition and try running Disk Utilities.) Let us hope that this is just something you are doing inadvertently.

  • Unwanted duplicate thumbnails in workspace.

I just purchased and installed Elements 9. When installingt, the program automatically indexed my photos on the HDDs and created thumbnails in the workspace of the organizer. Problem is that I got duplicate thumbnails for photos residing in different areas of the HDDs (even though it´s the same photo)
Anyway to filter or something so the duplicate thumbnails are not shown? deleting one by one seems like an endless job as it´s about 10.000 photos (most of them having duplicates on the workspace..)
    Thanks for any input

    EDIT:
Select a batch and right click - then choose:
    Visibility >>Mark As Hidden
You can show the hidden files at anytime using the View menu.

  • Why do songs keep duplicating in my Library. One song has duplicated five times. If  I delete the unwanted duplicates will it delete the song entirely from my library? How do I get the four unwanted duplicates out of my library?

Why do songs keep duplicating in my library. One song has duplicated five times. I have many that have duplicated up to 3 times. How do I get the duplicates  out of the library without removing the song completely?

As above, Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.

  • IPhoto 6.0- Trying to Delete unwanted duplicate photos:::: Help???

Recently, I downloaded all my photos from my desktop to an external hard drive in an effort to bring them to my MacBook. The problem is that I had about 5,000 pictures and when I downloaded them and know on the MacBook I have 20,000. Some how, many of the photos were duplicated and even triplicated (if that's a word- Ha Ha). In any event, I'm wondering if there is a way to have iPhoto sort out all the duplicates so I can delete them.... I have searched help to no avail and can't find any easy solution. Not even sure if it's possible, but it would beat the alternative of going through and deleting one by one. One last thing....the duplicates are not even next to the original. They are sorted all over the place. They also have the same photo #. Can anyone help?

Just throw what you have done away and start over
Connect your external HD to your old computer and drag the iPhoto library form the picture folder (default location) to the EHD, connect the EHD to your new computer and drag the iPhoto library on the new machine to the desktop and drag the old iPhoto library from the EHD intact as a single entity to the pictures folder of the new Mac and launching iPhoto on the new machine - there is no importing involved
Once you have tested and are happy with the iPhoto library on the new computer trash the iPhoto library you drug to the desktop

  • "edit in external editor" results in unwanted duplicates - help!

I've been using iPhoto for years. I've also frequently edited my iPhoto photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements and simply saved the edited photos. No duplicates. The original version could still be returned to (just as if I'd edited in iPhoto).
Ever since I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Photoshop Elements, v. 10, every time I go to the external editor, iPhoto (or Photoshop?) creates a DUPLICATE photo when I save the edited file.
    Any wisdom?
I'll also check with Adobe, but I know I'll get quicker - and better - advice here in Apple Discussions.
    Thanks.

Just in case this was the issue, while wating for a reply from you & others, I did exactly that...hoping they listen to feedback on this issue and act on it soon.
(I'm one of those disenchanted Apple customers who is skeptical that anyone's listening...witness the death of Mobileme and my beloved Gallery and the endless, long discussions on this subject on this website.)
Thanks for the reply, Terence. I suppose it's always good to know the problem isn't me, it's Them.

  • Unwanted duplicate slides

I am in captivate 4 creating a simulation and for some reason when a page takes too long to open captivate is captures that page repeatedly. Other than manually capturing screens, is there another way to create simulations without Captivate automatically producing duplicate screens.
    Thanks a bunch!

If Captivate is capturing extra screens, it's because it's detecting events firing off as the page is loading.  This is normal.  Captivate doesn't know that there's no visual change in the appearance of the page. It's just trying to ensure that you don't miss anything.

  • How do I find unwanted duplicates of images, by image?

Does anyone know how I can find duplicated images, searching only by the actual image, not titles, dates or ratings? There must be a utility that can just look at the actual image itself and then give me a list of places (within iPhoto 5.04) where I placed duplicates of the images (intentionally or not - mostly not). I know it works in iTunes, but that obviously uses the duplicate titles.

    Hi Santa,
There is no way of doing that that I know of. The program would have to study the image pixel by pixel and then find other images with the same exact pixel info.

  • Unwanted duplicates on desktop

I was trying to create a new folder and somehow all of my folders and files on the desktop have been duplicated. How do I safely get rid of the duplicate files?

    Hi there debbydowner123,
You can remove these files by moving them to the trash and then emptying the trash. Take a look at the article below for more information.

There is a checkbox on the import screen (at least there is when importing from a folder) that causes duplicates to be omitted. According to Apple Support, the definition of duplicate is identical files (not merely identical names).
The problem I am trying to solve, is that if you have already imported from various file collections and as a result have duplicates (also triplicates in some cases) how can one remove these from the iPhoto library - besides doing it manually?
If I find a way that works without confusing iPhoto, I'll post a follow up.
Apple Support did not have an answer.

  • Removing lots of unwanted Duplicate Tracks

    Hi
When I try to synchronise my iPod Classic I get a huge number of duplcate and triple lisings of the same track.
Is there any way of avoiding this or an y way of doing a bulk deletion of all Exact Duplicates with deleteing ALL instances of that track?
I really dont want to go through deleting some 2,500 duplicates individually.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
This is the instructions on how to delete files http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3842
You can select multiple files a a time.
Always delete files from within iTunes otherwise you will be left with a link in tunes which asks you locate file.
It is tedious but once done you will not need to worry about it again.

  • I get unwanted duplicate lines when editing the data content of my JTable

I have created an editable JTable (filled with data from an SQL) with a modified instance of AbstractDataModel.
I have a phenomenon that I cannot explain nor fix: each time I edit a data field in the JTable and press ENTER or leave the field, the edited line is duplicated. The extra content is not sent to my SQL (if I recreate the table everything is fine, except that certainly the changed value is lost). The problem must come from the Java code.
Ok, I admit, that I am not a Java pro and might have made a really stupid error, but I cannot find it.
Has someone already seen such a behavior?
    Thanks

Now we are drifting away a little from Java and start getting into philosophy ... :-) But one last reply I will do:
I agree that just playing around with the fuse box is dangerous and brings no benefit. But I am not that unknowing in Java... Technically saying I work in IT, but just not as a programmer but rather as a business consultant (I write the functional concepts that later the programmers have to implement and then I have to talk to them to fix functional errors and do the testing). Besides, I hold an official Java Programmer degree. But when not programming professionally and continuously gaining experience, it is very hard to keep your skill up. Therefore I do one or another hobby project with Java that I could also do better and faster with other tools such as Excel, Access or a simple batch job.
My concept for trying new things is to get a piece of code from the internet from which I assume I know roughly what it does. Then I use it in my programs, and while altering it to my needs, I continuously keep searching in API, documentation and tutorials or simple trial and error to get better insight into the details.
And as a scientist you know what I mean when I say that if I try something new, I simply accept for certain details that they work without knowing how. And over time I then take the time for the "how". Many famous people made their inventions by trial and error and while then testing their new observation and changing the surrounding conditions found out why they work. Not that I would claim for myself to be anything close to a genius inventor but I found that the approach works for me to advance in my insights of a solution.
    Sincerely CCH

  • Outline Stroke in cs4 adds unwanted duplicate/overlapping point, why?

When I create an outline of a line, say a simple 2 point straight line, I get the result of a filled 4 point rectangle, or so it would seem. When I individually drag each point out using the direct selection tool I find that there are actually 5 points - 2 are sitting on top of each other. Does anyone else have or has had this problem.

This is fixed in CS 5.
Notice that the stroke panel's drop down now reads mm when you set strokes to mm
Notice that the stroke panel's drop down now reads mm when you set strokes to mm
So there are improvements in CS 5 that have never been resolved in the past.
Even in CS 10 I believe the drop down still reads as points and sets the width of the strokes as points and then converts it.
So there has been a lot of hard work.
