HTC Rezound??? - Forget the name, but is supposed to be optimized for music with a comparable screen / processor to the other two.
Rumors place them all at $300 with a contract. If you can wait until end of November at least the first 2 should be out by then and if you aren't opposed to paying $300 these phones will all be significantly superior to what is currently available. The Nexus is my choice.

She ONLY uses it for calling and texting (no data) and I know that it will still work on the network, but the phone is getting old. She wants to change to a new Verizon phone, but I didn't know if one of their phones would activate on her account. My instinct tells me that they will make her upgrade to a more expensive account, but I'm hopeful. If they do, I'll just find a different carrier...

New Verizon Phone

I just purchased a new smartphone from Best Buy Online for an upgrade to my current Verizon flip phone. I chose not to change my plan, thinking at some point during this purchase it would ask me which data plan I wanted with this phone, since the phone won't work without a data plan. Well I went all the way through checkout and it never asked me. I wanted to take advantage of the 4 gigabyte of data for the price of 2 gigs that is currently offered by Verizon. Can I come by a Best Buy store and see the Best Buy Mobile person to get this added?

The easist solution to your issue is to call Verizon or you can even add the data plan online through your Verizon account. I'm sure the consultants at Best Buy could and would help you, but it would be easier to make the call or just do it online.

Buying a new Verizon phone

I won't be buying an iPhone at this point because I can't get AT&T service at my house.
So, I am staying with Verizon Wireless at the moment, and as I am in my 2-year renewal period, I can get a free or drastically reduced-price phone.
I would love to get a phone with a proper PDA function that I could sync with my Mac. But I'm not a fan of the Treo (and they are very expensive, even with the discount). Unfortunately, all the other "smartphones," I think, are Windows Mobile. I'm skeptical, but maybe that would work out ok.
Can anyone suggest a phone they've been using successfully? I am not much interested in the email function of a "smartphone," but it would be great to carry around a phone that also had a full address book (including addresses) and my appointment calendar.
I guess the alternative to all that is to get a basic cell phone and then a Palm for my PDA stuff.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe Verizon will only unlock the phone for international use, that's if your located in the U.S.
If your friend broke your phone, then he/she should purchase you one from Sprint.

Starting up a New Verizon Contract for Iphone 4s

So I've been wanting to switch carriers to Verizon and buy the Iphone 4S. The problem is, I want to be a familyshare plan and the rest of my family wants free new Verizon phones or whatever phone discounts Verizon has to offer as well. Will my family still be able to say get 3 discounted or free Verizon phones if I order my Iphone 4S online?

I have a 2 year old HP pavilion slimline desktop PC, model # is S5-1224. I upgraded our Verizon phones recently and was told that the USB cord for the charger could also go into the PC to d/l pictures. Cool I thought, but it does not work. I work my way to my USB list and one has a yellow caution triangle with ! mark in it. When checking further, it says "device cannot be accessed, code 10". I did a google on that and found that the USB driver is most likely bad. I've updated it until i'm blue in the face and it still shows the driver as 2006! but the build date is 9-2012!! How can this be.
Anyway, I went to HP and they linked to some "testing site" that said I had 16 "old or antique" drivers and of course wanted $29.95 to "fix" the problem. Can't believe that HP does not offer driver updates but out-sources them for money. Anyway, when I pull the usb cord, the yellow triangle goes away. I plug in my wifes 2 day old phone, yellow sign comes back! Getting very sick of this problem. All I want to do is d/l my pictures from my camera to my pc. Does anyone know of a fix that does not cost $29.95? Just don't have it right now.

Well, I had the night to sleep on this mess. Came to some conclusions at 4:30 this morning.
1. HP customer service sucks! They pay the poor people in India a few dollars an hour with no benefits to start the "claim".
2. They just don't care! Plain and simple.
3. Yes, It was my fault for buying this thing with only a 1 year warrantee. But I was fresh out of the hospital from having open heart surgery and needed something to use for our billpay. We've had HP's for years, as has most of my family. That will change for me next time I spend the money we don't have on another computer.
4. Now, my two new Verizon phones cannot transfer pictures like they are supposed to because HP admits they have a driver problem that prevents this from happening. Thankfully, my wifes phone has a slot for a mini SD card so she can save them to that. Un-fortunately, my phone does NOT have a flash drive so I'm stuck emailing them to myself and sucking up data on my Verizon plan, which by the way, knows how to take care of their customers. I will sing the praises of Caroline, Pat and Kevins for finally getting my plan upgraded. They tried for 3 days but it kept getting kicked out at the last step. Come to find out that my wife’s cell phone was still her old Alltel. Once we upgraded her phone, (99cents,) bingo bango, we had unlimited calls, unlimited text and 250 megs of data, for the SAME monthly rate and they gave me $10 a month off for a year for being a loyal and PATIENT customer. HP Needs to hire those 3 and have them teach classes on how to treat customers. AND they were NOT in India or Pakistan and they all spoke UNDERSTANDABLE English!!!
(Not sure what the data is used for but will find out today). They went sooooo far out of their way to help me, I will be indebted to them for ever and suggest Verizon to anyone who asks who my carrier is.

7. HP tech support has all of US by the n*ts and knows it. Lets see, 49.99 plus 14.99 a month for a year equals $229.87 for ONE STINKING year of "service". Crap! I only paid $449 for the whole computer! If this POS lasts 2 more years, I can afford to go buy a DELL. Had one of them long ago and it lasted trouble free for 7 years before the HD finally died.
8. Am I P/O'd, yea, for sure! If anyone asks me what computer i recommend, HP for sure will NOT come up in the conversation. (please refer to #1 and #5 and #6.
9. But thanks again for the link, only problem was it kept sending me around in circles ending me at a page to order 4 new recovery disks! Which the HP rep was at least honest enough to tell me that was NOT what I needed.
10. Lesson learned...the hard way and a hint, HP does NOT stand for "Happy Person". It actually stands for "Higher Profits".

150.00 Gift card for ordering a Verizon Phone?

Is there anyone here that can help me track down my 150.00 gift for ordering a new Verizon phone? I have combed my inbox, spam and filters. No luck. The lady on the phone when I ordered said it might take 10 days to get to me. I ordered the phone at the end of November. I have the order number and information if it helps.

Verizon won't let us activate a new basic phone. Just filed FCC complaint

My mom has had this Verizon plan for nearly 10 years. It's not a bargain by any means. It's $12 a month plus $0.25 a minute. Kind of a rip-off. But she likes the plan. Anyway, she recently added a $10 texting plan and talked to one of the sales managers at the store about getting a new phone (texting with a flip phone isn't practical.) He said she couldn't get a new phone with a QWERTY keyboard because she still has a year left on her contract, but recommended she get a phone elswhere, or buy one. She asked multiple times if Verizon would be able to activate the phone, and the salesman said yes multiple times. So she bought a new texting phone, an EnV3.
She called up Verizon to activate it, and they told her that the plan is no longer valid and any device switch would involve changing plans to a more expensive version. Keep in mind she's under contract after she got a new flip phone last year. What should I do? The store couldn't activate the phone either. I'll try online but not sure if it will work. I filed an FCC complaint though so maybe that will help. Otherwise, I'm getting my mom off Verizon once the contract is up. AT&T is good in our area, and even T-Mobile is. At least you get what you pay for with them.

After ten years of loyalty, we want to see your mom here for another ten strong. Pending which plan she is on, a Verizon Wireless device like an EnV3 may require current pricing plans in order to make the switch. Do you happen to know the exact name of the plan she's currently on as well as the offerings? Also, which device does she currently use? We're going to do everything we can to express options to make sure she gets some proper help so she can stay on board.

Went through hell getting our second phone activated because of a weird computer glitch and when we asked if we would receive any consideration for the time, travel, and money we put into getting the phones the way they were supposed to be, we were told to wait until the bill came and then they could make adjustments. Now I have the bill and have no idea "who" the we would be that could make adjustments. To top it off, the only way I know my account will get any attention is to post this in chat. I am so disappointed and will be counting the months until our phones are paid off and we can change companies.

The exact same thing has happened to me! The customer service reps keep saying there is nothing they can do until their system upgrades are complete and they can't tell me when that will be! I need my phone number back!!! Somebody please help with this issue!

When will a new windows phone be released on verizon? What phone will it be? What are you using to get this information?

Let this be known, there is absolutely no way in hell that I'm playing the same ******** VERIZON GAME with the same rules they made up last year that include:
A. Making thier customers wait a year and half, that's is literally 4-18 months longer than any other carrier worldwide
B. Limit the feature set so much that other carriers phone of basically the same model seem to be rooted (no tether, no screen shots, etc.)
C. Release it with almost zero support, the best I could find was a verizon support tech that guessed and fumbled around because there was no training for the trophy's and almost a month after getting it no one could help me get it to work right with voicemail, MM text sending and receiving or even getting it to purchase apps from the marketplace (it would ask for a valid credit card for my account and I had vaild credit cards in every one of Microsoft Live ID accounts) leading me to this
D. I finally figured out a large part of the issue, would have never even happened if Verizon would have provided instructions on something the size of a post it note, for a customer setting up their inital account when very first logging into the phone... Seriously without exageration, after loading and resetting the phone 4 times over a 2 month period both at the instruction of techs that "knew" this issue, and that was 2 of them after talking to about 8 support techs on the phone and going to 3 different stores 2 to them 3 times each (once with 3 of them working on it for about an hour and 15 minutes AND NO ONE was able to ID a large part of the issues I was having as being my Zune account, Xbox Live account, Certified Partner Account and Live/Hotmail email accounts all needed to be created using the same user ID and password and that's the one you need to use to initially set the phone up...
I understand Verizon had a hard-on for Microsoft for partnering up with ATT early on, but hell, with the lack of marketing, support, customer service and general all round **** poor attidude...
Seriously?? ***... The best answer is a god **** guesstimate... Anyway, if I even smell any of that same ******** this time (and yes, that is a legal name for use given how Verizon treats the Windows Phone platform and the customers that want to use it) I'm totally ABVing it (that would be Anyone but Verizon)

In settings>general>restrictions>location services>system services do you have cell network search set to off? If so turn it on and it may help to find a signal faster.

What phones do you have (old and new?) If your old phone was backed up using Verizon's Backup assistant, the new phone should pick up those contacts, as the Verizon cloud has replaced Backup Assistant, or ratherm BUA has been "absorbed" by the Cloud.
Knowing which phones you are using will help us to give more specific information for transferring the contacts.

Here is what most of us have been waiting for, some news on NEW feature phones for Verizon. Well here we have it, over at phone arena they have pictures of the upcoming LG Cosmos 2! Along with the Cosmos 2, there will also be another new feature phone, the Samsung Convoy 2. Im a fan of flip phones myself so im a bit more excited to see what the Convoy 2 has to offer, but for you qwerty board users, what do you think of the Cosmos 2???
