Update Flash Player to 9.0.124.0 Problems
I uninstalled flash player 9.0.115.0 and then installed new
version of Flash Player 9.0.124.0
I now have 3 places it is installed in compared to the 2 I
had before.
It is now located in :
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9f.ocx
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\NPSWF32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
Before I installed new version of flash player 9.0.124.0 I
had version 9.0.115.0 and this is where files were located:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9e.ocx
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
I am not sure what to do with the extra location of the file
NPSWF32.dll or if it necessary to do anything at all.
I would appreciate anyone’s input.
Thanks-----Dudley28

Here is what I did. Need to completely uninstall your current
versions. One way to see where they are all located is to go to
secunia.com and run their software inspector. Use the Scan Online
then left click on start then check the enable thorough system
inspection and left click start again. will take about 3-5 minutes
to run. note all the version of flash player and where they are
installed. May want to print.
Get the uninstall_flash_player.exe from this sight
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=1
Use the Windows version if that is what you have and run it.
I also use Registry Supreme Pro and run their Registry
cleaner and Software Manager to cleanup any registry keys
If you do not have that check here To manually uninstall the
ActiveX control
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_12727
Reboot
Try Secunia again to see if uninstalled.
If it has been removed then try installing the Flash Player
9.0.124 from
www.adobe.com/go/getflash
I do a clean install using a free program called enditall.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933
Where does that "error" lead you to download? Anywhere else than an adobe.com or macromedia.com website is not an Adobe update. -
Update Flash Player Multiple iMac's
Hello Everyone,
I work in an elementary school in ohio. I have been working with apple remote desktop trying to install adobe flash player in a lab we have. We use a generic login in our lab and everywhere else so that the little kids do not have to remember a username and password. I am trying to avoid having to update 40 computers at once by hand. I went to the lab and downloaded the update for adobe flash, but before installing i right clicked and did a show package contents. I then went to the resources folder and then contents folder and found the .pkg file in there. I had read on other forums that installing this would suffice to installing the update. I used apple remote desktop to install the pkg file and forced the computers to restart, after it came back up I logged in as the generic login and low and behold it still wanted me to update flash player. If anyone has any good advice for my situation I would greatly appreciate it!!!

I have to reinstall/update Flash player everyday?
Hi I am a Mac user (MAC OSX 10.6.8) and I use safari as my main browser. (safari version 5.1.5)
The thing is when I try to watch youtube videos, at least once a day my video just turns black, or it says 'plug-in failure'.
I found that the solution for this is updating the flash player, but since this happens everyday I am updating flash everyday.
Everytime I update flash player, the videos work fine.
Last time I installed Flash player was yesterday, the latest version possible, and yet the problem occurred just now.
When I install flash player, I do not uninstall previous versions , simply because it worked fine with them.
Could that be the main problem?
I'm just getting really sick of updating this everyday, force quitting all my browsers and losing all the tabs I had opened.
Please help? You don't need to uninstall Flash Player before installing a new version. Because you install Flash Player everyday, it won't be an update. You are simply installing the version that's already present in your machine.
Could you please go to the following page and let us know the Flash Player version displayed there? https://help-internal.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player. html
Does this issue happen only with specific sites or with all the sites?
Thanks,
Suni -
I recently updated Flash PLayer to version 11.7.700.169 on my imac OSX 10.6.8 with Safari 5.1.8 browser and no longer get hulu to work. Scrren is black but audio is playing. You Tube continues to work fine.
Any ideas?JavaScript and Cookies are enabled. my cookies list shows at least 3 associated with hulu. Funny thing is, if I grab the up/down control bar on right side of screen with my mouse, then hulu plays in a somewhat chopped frame by frame. As soon as I let go, the frame freezes yet audio portion continues.
I don't know what a munged Hulu cookie is, however. -
Update flash player on mac os x 10.5.8
i have a mac os x 10.5.8 and i am trying to update flash player but every time i try i get a message saying it requires 10.6 or higher. how can i update my flash player??
Running Leopard you can't. What you have is as far as it will go.
Leopard was the last build Mac released that was a "Universal Binary". In other words, it would run on PowerPC or Intel Processors. Once Snow Leopard was released, Adobe stopped deveopment on Universal binary builds of Flash Player.
I know it seems like just another "money grab" by Apple and Adobe trying to force everyone to buy a new Operating System, but the entire industry has moved away from the old Apple architecture and software for it. -
My Mac has stopped playing you tube asking me to update flash player trouble is it is asking me for a password and I don't ever recall setting a password for this mac …!!!!
When the Mac was setup you had to create an administrative password.and account. Yo have to sign into that account to install apps/plug-ins like Flash. To reset that password.

I have tried to update flash player and when I put in my password, it is rejected. I have changed my email and password and have so informed adobe, but I am still unable to install flash player update. How can I update adobe flash?
This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt. If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person. -
Update Flash Player (General Plug-in) in Adobe applications
Hello,
Secunia PSI detects Adobe Flash Player 9.x (General Plug-ins)
as unsafe. The Plug-ins are used by the Adobe applications: Bridge,
Dreamweaver and Air and are installed in directories of these
programms.
I've updated Flash Player to version 10.x but these programms
use their own Plug-in (installed with the programms) and haven't
been updatet by the update routine of Flash 10.x.
How can I update the Plug-ins for these programms?

Hello,
After a Mac update, flash player (along with silverlight) asked to be installed when I tried to watch video content or play games. I installed flash player and it reports being successful and appears in my applications. However, I cannot watch videos or play games, every time I am asked to install flash player again and again and again. I suspect this has something to do with plugins but I am not sure. I have un-installed the program and reinstalled but it still will not work. I check my security settings and it does allow plugins. I erased my temporary internet files. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated! This is incredibly frustrating. Thank youThank you for responding! I am using a macbook pro 2011, 2.2ghz, intel
core i7, 16gb - version 10.9.5. I have not intentionally installed any ad
blocking software; intact I am inundated with it most times. My online
school work required that I disable pop up blockers and all was well until
an update a few weeks ago for both security and operating system. To the
best of my knowledge I am allowing pop ups and plugins but this may be
where the trouble is. I am unsure, honestly of what security is running
besides what I find in the system preference/security tab. Thank you again
for responding and any help is most appreciated.

Update Flash Player via Adobe or whatever Apple updates?
I have always just let whatever Apple installer that updates Flash Player do my flash updating. Should I, instead, just always update directly from Adobe whatever the "latest" version of FP is? In the past, Apple seems to include a FP update with either a Safari or Security update. I have no idea if they do not update FP on a more frequent schedule because Apple has not "tested" the latest version.
Also, I have read that it is better to uninstall your current FP before running the current installer, however, the instructions on Adobe's website does not mention that at all.
Any suggestions?

Update via Adobe when you hear of an update, or just check regularly.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
Dear friends,
how can I release the update flash player on the computers in a network domain without the users are administrators of the machines.
Thank you. That's not much help in my case, because it requires you to have a distribution agreement with Adobe. I don't want to distribute Flash Player, I just want to install it on the machines I administer.
I can't even run the new version of the installer successfully, because it attempts to download Flash Player and the machine I'm working on doesn't have a direct internet connection. Earlier versions allowed you to download the full installer, so you didn't need internet connectivity on the machine you were installing to; why has this been changed? Where is the full installer? -
Update flash player- password issue
Adobe Flash player update is asking for my password which is valid and lets me into my account online, but will not allow me to update Flash Player.....
advice? There is no sign-in password needed for Adobe Flash. However, your computer account's admin password is required to install software.
Did you not create a password for your computer's login account? If not, then you will need to do the following:

Mac OS X 10.6- If you forget your administrator password,
OS X- Changing or resetting an account password (Snow Leopard and earlier).
