Update infotype without authorisation check

Hi, I have a requirement to update an infotype without authorisation check. Please let me know if there is any function module I can use to do that.

What is the functional requirement?
Because basically it's the same as granting users extended authorization, but without the authorization to execute transaction pa## (except for pa20).
This way, you prevent users from changing their own data. But when they use a program with FM hr_infotype_operations, they pass the checks.

DB Connect: Data displayed without authorisation check

Hallo Guys,
I just set up a DB connect for viewing some data from an Oracle database.
When I want to view 1 table (Source system-> DB-connect->Select database tables -> Display table content), a message is displayed in GREEN 'data is displayed without authorisation check'.
But still I can't see any data!
Anyone a suggestion?

Hi,
most likely your table have unsupported field name or data types...
I suggest creating a simple view with field anmes in upper case and char data types and see the data from this view in order to ensure your connection is fine and the user you are using has all privileges to read this table in Oracle....

I have checked in GL master all are unticked in post automatically.
But still error is same.
the above is getting only one plant. in other plant its working fine.

Dear,
This is most common error you get and we are not able to understand what is the error. SAP Store error in internal table "XMSEG"
Follow below steps:
1. Enable Debugging
2. Put Breakpoints at Function Module "Messages_count"
3. There is a internal Table XMESG which store the reason of error..
The most common reason for the error i have seen is Business Area..Profit Center....CO PA issue..

ABAP: Modify PA infotype without authorization check

Hello everyone,
Short version:
I know two FM that can modify PA infotype data: HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA and HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION. However, neither of those includes a parameter that allows using them without them automatically checking authorizations (like you can do with, say, FM RH_INSERT_INFTY which has parameter AUTHY to disable authorization checks but only works with OM infotypes, but not PA infotypes).
Does anybody know a solution?
Long version:
We want the travel department to be able to maintain infotype 17, and only infotype 17. In fact, there are only two fields there that need to be maintained in our company. That department should not have access to any other infotypes, and we are not going to give them PA30. On the other hand, they shall be able to do so for any employee, no matter from which personnel area, subarea, and organizational unit.
So I have created a small program with a mask specifically tailored to their needs. But we do not want to give them any PA authorizations. Giving them P_ORGIN to infotype 17 might not be a big deal, but then we would also need to give them structural authorization to all companies (= org units and personnel areas). Unlimited structural authorization is a big deal, and I would rather avoid granting that to someone who is not supposed to be doing anything but this tiny bit in HR. The only authorization that I would like to see in place is transaction authorization for my program. Anyone who has that should be allowed to maintain these IT 17 fields for any employee, but nothing else.
The problem is that upon writing the data, FM HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION auto-checks the authorization required for maintaining the infotype, including structural authorization, and so does FM HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA, as far as I understand. Is there an alternative I could go for?

ECM stands for Employee Compensation management and is one of the SAP HR module.
But I doubt you can use ECM specific function module to modify/insert infotype 17 values as below are the main infotypes for ECM module.

HT203175 itunes updates automatically without authorisation

Hello there,
I tunes starts updating automatically a few minutes after I've turned on my (Win XP) PC.
It goes without saying that I have long disabled automatic updates from the menus.
Updating just starts on its own and the little bar pops on the screen without me having had any itunes-related activity.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hmm, I don't think iTunes does auto-update, though it will normally announce when updates are available. Start Apple Software Update, click cancel, click Edit... Preferences. Choose your settings.

You can go through this Snote 1594064.Also just check the G/L accounts which you have assigned.
The problem could be most probably with the G/L accounts.

Authorisation check in report

Hi ,
we have developed a z report which is fetching grade from infotype 8 .All the users here dont have authorisation for infotype 8.Is it possible somehow that the users who don have authorisation for infotype 8 can rum that report.Right now when they are trying to run the report its showing 'No Authorisation for infotype 8'.Or is there some other place from which grade can be retrieved .

Create an authorisation object (SU21)
Put an authorisation check for this object in your report (AUTHORITY-CHECK)
Create a role that contains this object (PFCG)
Assign this role to all the users who require access to the report (SU01).

Skipping Authorisation checks in LDB

Hi All,
I am working on HR module and I have got to work on a report which is using LDB (Logical DataBase).LDB will do authorisation checks by default.
1) My requirement is to skip the authorisation checks and allow all the data to be retrieved.
Can this be done by calling any standard FM ? If yes , please name it.

in my opinion you are looking for a data retrieval process from report development point of view.
Ok say you are pulling data from infotype -08 which is sensitive information. now you need a entry for the object of this and then you are allowed to select on this table.
keep an authority-check on this table pa0008 and if you have the access then you will proceed or else dont pull the records.
Authority-object / Authority -check from program perspective will do .
ex:
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'Z_TCODE'
ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '03' " read access

Update Infotype 24 with Qualification

Hi Friends,
I have to update infotype 24(qualifications). I am using function module Rh_insert_infty_1001_ext to update but this function only creates a record in hrp1001(i.e. OM side) but does not create any record in PA side i.e. infotype 24.
Is there a different way to update infotype 24?

For PD tables,FM - BAPI_HRMASTER-SAVE_REPL_MULT is used and after PD tables are updated , for PA Tables use
FM - HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION
Check FM - RH_INSERT_INFTY_1001_EXT and also FM - BAPI_HRMASTER-SAVE_REPL_MULT

Update infotype

I need to update infotype 22, 31 , 68. I am using function module "HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION". But using this FM i can only upate the fields of infotype which are reflected in the infotype screen. I need to update other fields which are there in the PA table but not reflected in the screen.
Is there any other function module available?

You can use the Function Module <b>HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA</b>.
This function module enables you to maintain master data for employees and applicants. You can enter field names and contents in the 'proposed values' table. This will then be transferred to the corresponding infotypes. The same validation checks take place as would in the individual maintenance screens for the infotypes. You can enter as much data as you like. You can enter several records or infotypes at once. You are responsible for making sure that the data is consistent. If necessary, the module returns an error message. The error messages are the same as the those which appear in the dialog, in other words, the individual maintenance screen error messages are transferred rather than interpreted by this module.

Updating InfoType 0001 in ABAP

Our parent company is passing different begin and end dates from Infotype 0001 to our HR system. In our system an employee would have a start date of 3/1/2005 but our parent company has the same employee in there system as a start date of 1/1/2008. I was looking at using user exit EXIT_SAPLRHA0_003 to capture these and add the parent companies dates into our Infotype 0001 so that there feed doesnt overwrite our original dates. I have attempted to use HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION with no luck. Any one have a possible way to update InfoType 0001 without using a BDC?

What exactly is the issue? In any case HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION in turn calls HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA so you might end up with the same issue with either function call.

What are the standard SAP programs to update infotypes ( Ex: 001 / 002 / 003 ) .

I checked out the program you stating.......
In that program itself if you check the documentation its given how to add in fields.......
You can use report RPUSTD00 to transfer master data from your old HR system.
The dataset to be transferred must be stored in a sequential file. The file is stored under the name specified in the "logical file name" field (for more information on logical file names, read the IMG section entitled Additional client-dependent file name maintenance).
The report reads this dataset and creates a batch input session for transaction PA30.
The data description of your old record is defined according to the structure HRDATASET. If this structure does not meet your requirements, create the structure CI_HRDATAS in the ABAP Dictionary. In this structure, you can store the infotype fields to which data should be transferred. Make the necessary changes in RPUSTD00.
Example
If the include CI_HRADATAS contains the field F1 which is to be assigned to the infotype nnnn, add the following ABAP statements to FORM Dnnnn:

If you mean the iMac does not have an internal optical drive capable of reading DVDs, the only option requires another Mac with a DVD-capable drive and FireWire ports. Your iMac G3 will also require FireWire ports. Not all G3 iMacs have Firewire. FW started with the Summer 2000 models with 400mHz and faster processors.
With FireWire, you can use FireWire Target Disk mode to install from a retail OS install DVD in another Mac. If you supplemental info info tells us if you have another Mac with a DVD reader and the FW ports, we can walk you through the process.
If the iMac has a tray-loading drive, I'd forget it. They are very limited not only in the OS max (10.3.9) but also in RAM capability. Starting with the slot-loading iMac G3s, the max RAM increased to 1 GB (2 X 512MB modlules). Tiger likes 1GB RAM.
Understand that pre-Intel Macs are getting harder to use. Even with 10.4.11, your choice of browsers is limited (TenFourFox is the most viable option) and the G3s rudimentary video hardware means web browsing will be choppy at best.
If you are in the USA, you can try calling the Apple Store (1-800-MY-APPLE) for an OS disk. As recently as Jan 20, someone posted here that they were able to buy Tiger by calling. It was not clear whether the disks were replacement system install/restore disks or full retail install, but it's a free call.
When you do "About this Mac" to check teh OS verion, also look at the processor speed and tell us what that says. That can help with recommendations for an upgrade path.
