Updated iPhone 4 to 7.0.6 and lost most of my apps-what do do?

I updated my iPhone 4 to 7.0.6 and had to restore it from recovery mode - now only half of my apps have been reinstated and restoring from backup is not an option as the most recent backup besides today's appears to be last October. Suggestions welcome!

Did you back it up with iTunes on a computer, set to use local storage and not the iCloud AND the apps to be synced?
In my iTunes "command center" where I control the iPad and iPhone (on a Mac running Lion), a backup copy of ALL the apps I have ever acquired (578 at last count) are stored in a local folder and I have never had to lose one or manually restore. I've taken the iPhone from an initial 6.0.4 up to 7.0.6 (about 6 upgrades) and the iPad from 6.1.4 to 7.0.6 (4 upgrades) and have never had to reinstall a single app.

To purchase and update apps, iTunes requires a valid payment method, even for free apps.
Yu can create a new iTunes App account that is only good for free apps but you still need the old account to update apps purchased wth that account.

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group. When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Relax, nobody's ripping you off...
Apps are tied to the Apple ID you purchased them on and not the device so getting them all back is easy so long as you know the account details. To reinstall the apps just use the App Store and use the original Apple ID (account) that was used to purchase them, then re-install. If you setup a new Apple ID on your device when you initialized iOS 5 then go into the App Store app and change the account back to the one that was there before. Then go to update > Not on this iPhone and start installing...

Check for previous backups in iTunes. Use iPhone Backup Extractor and extract contacts from iTunes backup if they exist.

When you switch syncing computers you have to restore the iPod on the new computer. Did you do that?
You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library but you can manage music and videos among different computers. See:

Not if it isn't in your itunes library. If you sync with a new computer iTunes will delete all iTunes media (such as music) from your phone and replace it with whatever media is in the new iTunes library. Sounds like that's what happened.

If I do a search for img_ I do get about 3800 photos, so they do still seem to exist in various locations with multiple duplicates and/or photos that are different but have the same name. I know if I try moving them all to one location I'll get the message "Do you want to replace?" many many times. Any suggestions?

Turns out restarting my mac fixed it.

Streetview is the property of Google. The new application not using Google services anymore (for many reasons you can find around the web), Streetview is gone too. Just download the free streetview app from the appstore
