Updated to iOS 6.1 now my SMS messages won't send
I updated to iOS 6.1 over the air yesterday afternoon. I got some good news so I sent out a couple messages to people but kept getting failure to send notifications. Before 6.1, I did not have any problem sending SMS messages. iMessages still works properly though. I am in the process of restoring the phone to see if this fixes the problem. If anyone else out there has solved this problem, please let me know.
I have a iPhone 5 running on Sprint.

SMS messages won't send from my Macbook Air
I installed yosemite and am enjoying all the great perks except for one. I am unable to send SMS messages from my computer. Everything is one the same Apple ID but it doesn't work. I can make calls but can't send SMS messages. Please help!
ALso another gotcha mentioned by Jason Snell at Six Colours
"I couldn’t get this feature to work until I discovered that there’s a setting on the iPhone—“iPhone Cellular Calls” in the FaceTime settings menu—that had to be switched on before I could use it. That’s a weird place for that feature to live, in my opinion—why not in the Phone settings?—and a weird name for it, too. (On the Mac side, you can toggle this feature off in the FaceTime app.)" -
I updated to iOS 7 and now some of my apps won't display in landscape mode and they did before the update. Any ideas on how to fix it?
This could be from having restrictions enabled. Icons completely disappear when "restricted"

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list. I've confirmed the mac address is included on that list and that the password is correct. Under choses netwrok I select the network and it just goes into a spin. I have tried removing the password and the access list settings and it still will not complete the connection to the router thus no internet access. The routers firmware is also up to date. This thing worked fine before this update and I've already tried to restore from backup. Any ideas or is the wifi nic bad in this thing with the new apple firmware update? Any fix?
Thanks Bob, I don't know why but it all of a sudden worked a few days later. It's a mystery but at least problem solved.

I updated to IOS 6 and received an error message after completing. Now my phone is in restore mode. Is there a way around restoring my phone completely?
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

If necessary Place the Device into Recovery mode...

I just updated to ios 7 but now facebook won't open on my phone. There is a blue dot beside the Facebook icon on my phone. Suggestions?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have an iphone 4S and stupidly let it update to iOs 7 and now I cant get wifi or bluetooth. Anyone know how I can get back the previous update when my iphone was working perfectly?
Your WiFi/Bluetooth chip has failed. Bring the phone (and $199 if outside the warranty period) to Apple for replaceement.

Updated to iOS 8 and now I can't get my apps to open
I Recently updated to iOS 8 and now ALL my apps open and freeze or just quit out instantly I've let it run flat, restarted it and shut it down for a few hours andit doesn't change anything. And my iPod is really slow unresponsive music plays randomly issue stars randomly clicks lagg out for a few minutes.
the only apps that do work are the default ones that come with iOS 8.
how can I fix this issue ASAP.Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -

I have an iphone 4. I recently updated to IOS 7. Now when I am talking on a call, the mute or speaker button will activate. Very frustrating...help. How do I turn it off?
My iPhone 4 has the same problem. Other people I know have similar issues. Other threads in the forum have commented that there could be a problem with the screen proximity sensor that is triggered by your ear being near or touching the on-screen mute or speaker button. They claim that an external case or a screen protector could cause the proximity sensor to malfunction, or possibly the screen needs to be cleaned. I tried putting a non-conductive thin cover over the phone, and it did not help. In my opinion, the phone works as designed. Other than switching to another brand phone or Apple fixing it with a functional iOS update versus a pretty iOS update, I've only found one solution, which is to use a headphone/microphone or a hands-free device. Of course, using a headphone/microphone is often inconvenient.
