Updates Available not correct

I have 17 SLES 10 SP2 servers running the ZLM 7.2.2 HP3 agent attaching to a SLES 10 SP2 Primary ZLM server also running ZLM 7.2.2 HP3.
All the servers have registered correctly with the primary server and I am able to assign catalogues\bundles etc without any issues.
I am having issues with the available updates icon giving incorrect and inconsistent results.
I have assigned and subscribed to the same catalogues and bundles on all 17 devices and run a rug up -y on all devices which has successfully installed all the required packages to each device.
The ZLM server however thinks that there are some devices fully patched. Some have a few packages still requiring and update and some still have all the packages to apply.
Software inventory is enabled on the agents and my ZLM server and I have left the server for a day in case there is a scanning schedule issue.
Can anyone advise me on what I should be looking at to see why the update status is not refreshing

Dave,
good to see that there are failed ones. Not that failed are good, but it might be a indicator why you see the wrong updates.
One thing to note here ... doing any modifications on the database is not what Novell would like any customer to do. They want to make all changes via the zlm application but some things cannot be done there and must be done via sql statements. I'm not from Novell support, I'm also just a customer and I also do not like to do such sql statements, I normally avoid them and just do it when there is no other way. I just wanted to say this here, not that you start doing a lot of sql statements in the furture. That could get problems with Novell support.
So lets do a few things (if you still want):
1. count the updates that might be listed in that window for this specific device:
Code:
# psql -U zenadmin -d zenworks -x -c "select count(updateid) from zen_device_updates where updateid='01f66f44252c471b963deba14d665258';"
2. now set a previously failed queue entry to the new state that it will be processed once again:
Code:
# psql -U zenadmin -d zenworks -x -c "update zen_queue set status='N' where qid=16696;"
3. wait till this queue entry has been processed. That might take a few minutes depending on the size of your zlm server, the bundles and so on. Just run this statement and wait till the status changes to F ... Failde or S ... Succeeded. Status I indicates in progress.
Code:
# psql -U zenadmin -d zenworks -x -c "select * from zen_queue where qid=16696;"
After that has finished hopefully successful, check the number of updates with the statement from step 1 again.

    Regards
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
Check the request in the ODS to ensure the request is successfully loaded and try to activate it manually. If you still get an error let me know the error message as there could be several reasons depending on the error message.

  • App updates available - NOT

iTunes 7.7.1 keeps telling me that I have downloaded iPod Touch application updates available. When I click the button to view the updates it instead tells me that my iTunes store account has no updates available and to sign in with a different account. I have checked with the online App Store and it tells me all apps are up to date. I have synced my iPod Touch several times but the indication that application updates are available won't disappear. What gives?

I've noticed this happen a few times and it eventually corrects itself after an additional sync or two.

  • Here we go again - software update available (not)

I have struggled with this for over a year now.  App Store on my MacBook Pro shows an upate available - but there isn't actulaly.  It all starts with a flag on the icon in the dock - but when I click on it, then the software updates tab - it will spin and spin, then show nothing (but still say there is one update availabe.  Once this behavior begins, it is only a matter of time (usually days) until it will show that there is an update available, and again clicking on it, then the update tab, brings me to the page, but will show a piece of software (for me - it is ALWAYS Twitter app) - and shows that it is installed already (see window capture).
Over the last year, I have done more things than I can remember to make it quit this - from deleting Twitter, then installing it again through the App Store.  That doesn't remove it.
I have deleted the App Store prefs...  no effect.
I read on another similar thread of resetting the App Store - and followed those directions, which ended the bad behavior for a few weeks, only to return.
In my most recent reappearance of the issue - it showed 1 Update for just over a week - but no actual software listed... until yesterday when there was an update that involved Java.  I had it update that... and then Twitter showed up (though it doesn't actually need updating).
Apple is losing its "user-friendly" reputation for many reasons - and bugs like this reflect just one of them.

  • Template updates links not correctly

    Dreamweaver CS3 for Mac:
I had to add the following into my already existing sitewide
    template file:
    <!--[if IE]>
    <link href="../iestyle.css" rel="stylesheet"
    type="text/css" />
    <![endif]-->
but unfortunately links that are more than one level deep do
not update correctly on my HTML pages.
Is there a way to make this work?
    Martin

    >Ok, it seems that Dreamweaver is overstrained by altering
    template links within conditional statements.
    >Thats very sad, if this group is read by Adobe people
please fix this before Dreamweaver CS4!
    >I prefer clean HTML files but it seems the only solution
is to bloat each and every file with browser specific CSS or
    scripts
You are wrong - it is not a DW bug. The link to the
stylesheet has to be either relative to the root of the website
(href="/xxx" notation) or relative to the page (href="../xxx"
notation) NOT the template. You may not see this in the design view
of DW depending on what version you are using and how you have set
DW up to include links (See options/preferences).
If you have multiple levels of pages, then you HAVE to use
root relative links - that is the way of the web, it is not a DW
    problem.
If you want to see the correct result in Design view, you may
have to use 'Design time stylesheets' : Look up the term in DW
    help.

  • Using superduper "gb available not correct on new drive" issue

i have a new 160 gb seagate hd in a owc enclosuer, used superduper(all files copied) and this seems to have worked. i have not moved the new drive into the macbook yet. problem is when using the finder window and looking at the gb available on what was copied, it still shows the "gb available" info from the old(in the macbook) drive which is low and not the new drive which is larger. if you display the hd unit in the finder window it shows the correct gb available, if you pull up anything else, it show the gb available info from the old drive.wondering how to get the folders to show the correct info. thanks and have a good week.
    lee

Which drive have you booted from when this occurs. I would guess you have still been booting from the internal drive. The finder is giving readings from this unless as you say you specifically click on the external.. I think when you put the larger drive in your macbook all these folder issues will disappear.

  • Itunes update does not correct the "this computer is not authorized...

What's going on with this message "this computer is not authorized to play this music". Very frustrating. The work around offered here just seem too much for a simple program.

Does this appear for a large number of songs? If not, and the songs remain available in the iTunes Store for purchase, delete them from your iTunes Library and download them again. You won't have to pay for anything you already purchased. See Downloading past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store
It is possible to have authorized a single computer more than once, which may explain the problem. To fix that, select "Deauthorize This Computer..." from the iTunes Store menu, then immediately deauthorize again, then repeat, and continue to repeat, until the message "This computer was not authorized..." appears.
    Then, authorize.
If none of this works contact iTunes Store Support.

I cannot open more than one tab in my firefox browser. This includes clicking in the + button for a new tab, using the ctrl+t shortcut and if I try to select 'new tab' from the File menu. However a new tab will open when i click a link within my current window.

  • HT202879 I am stumped - trying to open a recent Pages file but error message says that I need a "newer version" of Pages.  My software updates show that there are no updates available.  I recently updated Pages but it is not consistent.

I am stumped - I am trying to open a recent Pages file (created with a newer software that I thought was correctly installed recently) but error message says that I need a "newer version" of Pages.  My software updates show that there are no updates available. Pages 09 version 4.3 shows as my current version.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • App Store shows update available but will not display the update or tell me that there are no updates...

There is a badge with the number 1 on my "App Store" icon, but when I go to see what needs to be updated, the App Store does not display the app that has an update nor does it say that there are no updates available.  Basically the place that tells me these things, is completely blank.  I have the word "Updates" at the top of the screen and I can see an icon on the bottom right corner area that has the cirlce with a down arrow and the word "Updates" with a badge with the number 1 in it.
The iPad 2 has 6.1.2 for the iOS.  I have already closed the app out completely by closing the app in the multitasking section and then restarting it.  This does not correct the issue.  I have also restarted the iPad 2, however this did not correct the issue either.
If anyone has seen this and knows it is a glitch in the software, and that Apple is aware of it, please let me know.  If anyone knows how to correct this, please let me know.  Thanks.

The update server is down; try this temporary workaround
    App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"
