Updates suddenly stopped working?
I obtained my Photoshop from a school a couple or few years back. I believe they claimed the serial would work forever.
But the updates just stopped working. They all download fine in the Adobe Application Updates Manager but when it goes to install, I get an error message:
"Some updates failed to install.
The following updates were unable to install. If you wish to install these updates, please fix the problems below and retry:

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
Photoshop 12.0.4 update for Photoshop CS5

When I click the Customer Support link, I'm taken to a webpage that says:
Error "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | CS6, CS5.5, CS5
Adobe upgrades and upsells require a qualifying previous product. If the upgrade or upsell installer can't find a previous product on your computer, it asks you to enter the serial number of a qualifying product.
Try the solutions in this document if you receive the error “This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another” when you enter a serial number in the Serial Number Upgrade screen.

Yet in Adobe Photoshop, under help menu, there is still an option to 'Deactivate', so I assume the serial is still fine. (I hope I would be notified if my serial expired.)
I'd really like to update my products.
Please help.
I updated manually using downloads from the website and it worked fine, but that still sucks I hope I don't have to do it manually every time.

My Yahoo mail account has suddenly stopped working. Have deleted and re installed but still not working. Recently updated iOS could this be related?
Try resetting the Yahoo password. Yahoo not infrequently has problems.

HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC_Keyboard and Touchpad Suddenly Stops Working
Hi there,
I have an HP Pavilion dm1-4000au Entertainment Notebook PC (QG411PA) running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit for more than a couple of years already. During those times up until now, whenever my laptop is on standby for an hour or so, its keyboard and touchpad suddenly stops working, regardless if its running on battery or on AC power.
I always ensure that I have an external mouse in order for me to navigate properly and pull up the on-screen keyboard in order to type once that issue arises.
All appears to be updated in terms of Windows Updates and I even reformatted it, but issue still persists.
Is this particular issue that I am experiencing a harware issue? Perhaps a software issue? Or maybe a defective model itself?

It looks like you are facing difficulties to resolve Touchpad Issues with your Notebook

Steps to drain the Static charge and loading default BIOS settings to resolve the issue
Step 01. Turn OFF the Notebook
Step 02. Un-plug the Power/AC Adapter and also remove the Battery too
Step 03. Press and Hold the Power Button of the Notebook for a full minute
Step 04. Now let's re-insert the battery back in and plug back the Power/AC Adapter
Step 05. Start the Notebook and keep tapping F10 Key during the startup to access the BIOS
Step 06. Once you get to the BIOS, Please press F5 or F9 Key to load setup defaults for the BIOS
Step 07. Now let's press Esc/Escape Key. Save Changes and Exit - Yes
Step 08. Now please wait till the Unit loads the Windows Operating system

My iTunes suddenly stopped working and doesn't recognize any of my devices and gives me a AMD error. I've tried several times to uninstall all Apple programs and reinstall to no avail. I'm running windows 7 on a Dell laptop. It worked fine for years then I decided to update my iPhone 4S and it didn't recognize it or any other iPod or iPad.
Can someone please help ?I am having all sorts of problems with 9.1.1.Crashes and not only iTunes but I have to restart all the time.

I receive Adobe updates on a regular basis without any problems. The other day, my Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 (Editor) function has suddenly stopped working. Windows cannot seem to solve the problem. I can open all the other function buttons without any problems just not the most important one which is the Editor Function. Has anyone experienced this situation and knows what to do?

I have been using my apple tv to access netflix for several months. It suddenly stopped working. When I try to go to netflix from the menu, it says "accessing netflix" but never does. I can access you tube just fine, but just can't get to netflix. Any ideas. I have unplugged everything and waited but nothing helped.
Update software. If that doesn't work try resetting. Mine started working after the update.

Internet sharing suddenly stopped working - please help!
I have been sharing my internet for weeks from my computer but this morning it suddenly stopped working. I've tried changing the password, changing the channel number, and changing the Network name to a simple one, but it is all not working Apparently the authentication server is not responding? How can I fix that?
I'm having the same problem. I had internet sharing set up on my iMac from Ethernet via AirPort, and received quite well on my MacBook and iPod Touch, and then one day, it just stopped working. I'm assuming that some update or other caused this problem, but I have no idea which (I mostly use the internet on my desktop machine, so it may have been several days before I noticed the problem). I've tried with-and-without a password, and also tried sharing from my MacBook to the iMac and iPod Touch, and I can't get any bandwidth (I can connect to the 802.11 network that I create, but I can't get any internet through it).

The nearest service center is 2 hours from my house and my computer isn't under warranty anymore, so I need alternative options. I'm just frustrated that my disc drive was totally fine until AFTER I took it in for service. I just paid a lot of money for a new hard drive from the apple store and now my disc drive has suddenly stopped working correctly. I tried with multiple CD's and DVD's...loading a disc, but my computer would just make a weird loading noise and then eject the discs. Now it has started fighting taking the disc, so I have stopped trying. Is there anyway to fix this problem without taking it in for service again and paying another boat load of money?

when you say that your disc drive is damaged, do you mean your MacBook Pro’s hard disk drive, or do you mean its SuperDrive (the CD/DVD drive)?
When you’d updated your MacBook Pro to Mavericks, did the installation succeed, and subsequently freeze up? Or did it freeze up during the Mavericks installation?
Which version of OS X was installed on your MacBook Pro before you’d installed Mavericks?
Are you currently able to boot into the Mavericks recovery partition? To see if you can do so, hold down a Command key and the R key while starting up your MacBook Pro. -
IPhone 3GS suddenly stopped working with wifi in only one location
This is the situation. I have an iPhone 3GS and it the wifi suddenly stopped working at my house (just with the iPhone).
I have an Airport express (latest generation) and a time capsule (1st generation). All of my devices (except a PC laptop which isn't much of an issue, and the iPhone) cannot connect to it. The devices I have are as follows: Apple TV, iPod Touch, iPad 2, the "new" iPad, a macintosh computer.
However, when I move the Airport express to my work location, and plug it into the ethernet there, the iPhone works totally fine. It seems like the issue is just at my house. The Time Capsule works intermittently sometimes; random devices cannot connect to the network sometimes. The airport express seemed to fix this problem. I have read that this problem is related to the operating system "Lion" but the network was working fine for months and months after I have upgraded to lion. Sometimes both devices cease to work, and there is no internet to any devices in my home.
The network is password protected, so that removes the possibility of neighbors connecting to the network. The name of the network contains spaces and "symbols" which I have heard is an issue for PC's trying to connect to networks. Both my home and my workplace are on the same internet provider.
My questions are:
Why does the airport express work with the iPhone at my workplace and not at my house?
How many devices can a 1st gen Time Capsule handle at once?
If I buy an airport extreme, will it fix this issue?
How can I fix this?
I have restarted the device several times (both the iPhone and Time Capsule) and it still didn't fix anything.Using the delete all content and settings option is not restoring the iPhone. Using the delete all content and settings option does exactly that - all content and settings are securely deleted except for the firmware, which is not a restore.
If you do this followed by re-installing an app via the iTunes sync process, the app settings and any data created and stored by the app will be lost. 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is not stored with the app on your iPhone and is not stored with the app or synced with the app in your iTunes library on your computer.
3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is stored separately from the app on your iPhone and is included with your iPhone's backup which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process.
Restoring an iPhone with iTunes completely erases the iPhone first followed by the firmware being re-installed. After the firmware is re-installed, you are prompted to restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection. The other selection available is as a new iPhone. After either one, this must be followed by a sync with iTunes. If you restore from your iPhone's backup followed by re-installing an app that stores data you need to access, the data will be restored with the app. If you restore as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup followed by re-installng an app, the app settings and any data created and stored by the app will not be restored with the app since you didn't restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup where this data is stored.
If you restore your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup with no change, you can follow this by restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup to recover the 3rd party app settings and the data created and stored by the app along with all other data included with your iPhone's backup. -
Airport woes - suddenly stopped working
I’m unfortunately currently having Airport issues, and was hoping to get some help. My wireless network has been running fine for a while, but yesterday evening it suddenly stopped working. I could see and join my network, but it wasn’t working. When I connected my computer directly to my modem via Ethernet, it worked fine. I rely on wireless a lot though, so I unplugged and plugged everything back in, but it didn’t solve anything. Eventually, I decided to reset my Airport Extreme and Express (used as WDS) base stations and start over. I set everything up (standard set up, Extreme with Express as WDS), and my connection started working again. After about half an hour though, my internet went down again (just like before, I could see my network, but it didn’t work)
I tried unplugging everything again, but that didn’t help matters. I decided to try a reset again, but unfortunately this time around, that didn’t work either. When I check the network part in the system preferences, it says I am connected to the internet over Airport (green light shows), but I Safari loads for a few seconds and then tells me I’m not connected to the internet. I thought there may be something up with my DNS settings, but I checked them and everything is entered correctly. I reset everything a third time, thinking there might be something wrong with my Extreme base station (I even tried going back to default firmware but that didn’t help), and just used my Express station. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either (I get a green light on my Express base station, but it just won’t work). That is when I gave up. I tried again one final time this morning and am still getting nowhere.
The odd thing is, I haven’t changed anything…I don’t know why it would suddenly stop working. I hadn’t changed any settings, or messed around with the firmware or anything. I’ve been on the latest Extreme/Express software updates since a couple of months ago and have had no issues whatsoever. When connected directly to my modem, my internet connection works fine – so I’m assuming it’s not an issue with my ISP (UK Online). Since I can’t get both my base stations to work, I’m also assuming there isn’t a physical issue with them. FYI, these base stations are the old ones, not the new 802.11n ones.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be up and/or any suggestions as to what I could try?

P.S. I am on OSX Tiger, latest update.It's always a good idea to completely power cycle the entire network after any changes or updates to a network.
If you have not already done so.......
Power off everything....all devices....order is not important
Start the modem first and let it run for a minute or two by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Start the Airport Express the same way
Start each computer and device one at a time about a minute apart
Check the network for proper operation -
Today, all my FTP connections have suddenly stopped working. I thought it was a problem with FileZilla, but have since tried 4 or 5 different FTP clients and none of them will connect to anything. Sometimes the connection just times out, and other times it goes through all the authentication and login seemingly successfully before the message appears: 'Critical error: Could not connect to server'
I'm using a 2011 MacBook Pro, upgraded to Yosemite about a month ago (and have been using FileZilla on a daily basis since), but otherwise I can think of no hardware or software updates that have been made.
I've tried restarting my router and my computer. I've also checked the Mac firewall, which was already switched off. After googling the issue, I read that turning off 'passive mode' might fix it, but it doesn't.
I haven't a clue how to go about fixing this problem!
Any ideas?Ask in the DW forum and be much more specific about the requirements for your FTP connection like its ports, TLS settings and so on.

Internet Suddenly Stopped Working

My eMac, running 10.2, suddenly stopped working with my Internet. It shows my router, but when I open a browser, it says it can't find the server. However, my iTouch and laptop can both load with the same router and modem. Does anyone know what I should try to fix this? I didn't open up the case or anything and have tried Safari, Firefox and IE. None have worked.
ThanksThere are various glitches that occur with internet connections. My first suggestion is to disconnect the power to your router, leave for about 10secs then reconnect the power. This resets the router and its link to the ISP and sometimes resolves such problems. If this works the problem might still recur at times but at least you can get up & running again.
I would also suggest that you check with the router manufacturer's website for a firmware update for your model and instal this. This software is part of the router's internal operation not part of your computer's software even though the upgrade is usually done through one of your computers.
If these don't help I suggest you consider software maintenance/upgrades for your eMac. Various software components, eg preferences, can become corrupted and need to be replaced/upgraded from time to time.

ISight suddenly stopped working
My iSight suddenly stopped working in the middle of a Skype connection. It had been working correctly: my contact heard me and saw my image. Then, the sound suddenly was lost, and after that the image. The green light on the iSight went off. If I plug the firewire cable into another port, the light comes on for a few seconds, then goes off. The iSight is identified in About This Mac. I took the iSight to the local Genius Bar, and it worked perfectly on 2 other Mac's. I was advised to re-install the OS with archive, but isn't there anything more simple?

Here are some things you can try.
(1) If you used your own iSight's cable when you tested your iSight at the Genius Bar, you know neither the cable nor your iSight is the problem.
You can test your iSight with other applications to determine whether you have problems with more than one. Also, consider the link there to Apple's "iSight: How to Troubleshoot" suggestions.
(2) If your only problem is with Skype, consider reinstalling Skype or check out Skype's great Help section. Skype even hosts its own discussion forums dedicated to Skype specific issues.
(3) If your iSight has problems with more than one application, consider whether your Mac OS X Maintenance is up to date. Maintenance is the first thing I check when I begin to experience minor problems or system slowdown.
(4) If your problem persists although your OS X Maintenance is current, download and apply this Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update (PPC). Finish with another Permissions Repair and check your iSight again.
Users have reported fixes to a variety of audio, video, connectivity, and software conflicts and unreliability issues after properly applying Combo Updates.
The Combo Updater will be much simpler than an A&I reinstall.

Emulator suddenly stopped working
Hi,
recently I have encountered problem with emulator suddenly stopped working. I am using linux (Mandriva 2009.1), WTK 2.5.2_01 and Eclipse 3.5. The only thing I am getting is message "Running with storage root ~/j2mewtk/2.5.2/appdb/temp.DefaultColorPhone", the emulator screen appears and immediately whole application is exited. No additional errors using eiter eclipse with MTJ, or running from console via ktoolbar or direcly running emulator. But if I start eclipse as root (same workspace) or run commands from console (same WTK intallation directory), emulator works. So there have to be some problems with permissions (/dev/* or something else?), but I do not know which since there is no error message.

thanks for suggestion, but as I stated in first post, there is no error message anywhere to be found. Emulator window appears, immediately closes and console process stops without any message. But now I am sure it is something with kernel (and related packages and scripts) updates. I did not have much time for programming, so I did not launch Eclipse since my last post (so any configuration absolutely did not change). Few days ago there was kernel security update for my Mandriva, so I tested workspace and emulator does not work again (but works with root permissions).

Can't print PDF file with "Technical" font
