Updating iPhone from ios4 to ios5. Finished backing up, but both iTunes and iPhone seem to be frozen - nothing happening. What do I do?
This is truly weird - my iPhone4 successfully updated from iOS4 - iOS5, but it didn't back up any of my apps/contacts/stuff. etc. I still have the right phone number but everything else, including email account info and photos are my daughter-in-laws, the photos are all dated 2008. What on earth happened?
NO need to do a double posting on the same subject.
If your getting data from 2008, that means you didn't backup your phone prior to doing the update.

I have the same problem!! only thing is that i have the ipod touch 5th generation and a mac. I've been trying to find a way to get all my music to play cuz it will only play on itunes but when i try to play it on my ipod it'll just show a circle with a red square in the middle next to the songs i cant play.

You can not upgrade to iOS 5 at all. Only to iOS 6. Over the air updates can only be done when iOS 5 or higher is installed.
Even if you find a way to update to iOS 6 using another computer, you will not be able to sync with your work computer any more.
Side note. Syncing your personal information to a company owned machine may not be wise. If the phone is not company issued/owned, you really should be syncing it with your personal computer. -
i have updated my 4s iphone to ios 6.1.3 and have trouble connecting it to wi fi . i tried to back up it on itunes and then restore it but now i have left with a phone that still doesnt connect to wi fi and lost all my data. anyone knows how to fix it?
If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

I have a Iphone 4, upgraded to ios 5 with itunes 10.5 Since doing upgarde to both Itunes and Iphone I am not able to add individual songs from my itunes library to my Iphone. I get a grey listing of the song and the sync symbo but it is not moving. Nothing appears on my phone screen. So not able to add music to my phone and its driving me nuts.....
iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1.

Both Chrome and Finder seemed to freeze, so I restarted the computer. When the restart finished, I was in recovery mode. How do I get back to my regular login screen?
It starts up and asks for a language. After English, it goes to the OS X Utilities screen. I have gone to disk utility and verified the disks. They both say they are okay. If I click repair, it comes back with an error saying "Live file system repair is not supported." I just want my computer back to normal! Please help! Then re-install the OS. Reboot and use Setup Assistant to recover your data.

Is your iPhone connected to your computer using the lightning cable or are you doing WiFi sync?
Sometimes the iPhone doesn't show up in the side bar if you're using WiFi syncing, if its not working, then be connected to your WiFi on your phone and on your computer (Same network) let me know how it's going, if it doesn't work still. Turn your phone off and on again and put in your pass code then try to sync it (keep your phone unlocked and not in sleep mode) tel me if it appears in the side bar.
