Updating .js file in web
i want to create a dynamic web page in a specific folder through writing using i/o package and then we write the hyperlink of that page using i/o package in .js file.Then problem is that we give the physical path of the .js file but in web we can not do this thing.so i want how to give the logical path of the .js file
if you are going to do
<script language=javascript src="/js/myJs.js"></script>put the relative path, that is the path from the WebContent but you'll need to known where are you, beacuse you may be need to put:
<script language=javascript src="../js/myJs.js"></script>if you are at the folder pages of the WebContent folder

Update test file on web server
I have a web server that I need to update every so often. It's just a text file, and I'd like to be able to do it from a browser.
Each line in the file contains one word. I want to be able to add/delete/modify words(lines).
My questions are:
-Do I need to write a servlet to do this?
-I'm sure I can read the file and display it, but when I want to save it do I erase it and rewrite the whole thing, or is there a way to do an update?
Any suggestions are very appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamesconsider maybe using a JMS and send the log entries as messages. JMS can be set to persists and handles updating from multiple sources (if this applies). something like MQSeries is very robust and reliable. You can of course also use JSD and javaspaces too and save on paying for MQ although the book by Asbury shows how to implement a JMS in pure java.

How to update image files in web pages generated by servlet without redeploying
HI,
I have a servlet which generates html pages with images. Those images changes
as they are graph generated regularly. They are placed in s directory where the
application is deployed. It is necessary because I have made some security constraints
for the location of those files. However it seems that when I deploy my application
on WLS all files contained in the application directory are cached, and when for
ex. I delete some of them they are still appear in generated html pages. only
Redeployment of application updates the state of those files.
Is there a way to make the application to be aware of any changes in images files
and to load updated ones??
i would be interested in a situatioin like with default WLS servelt (DefaultWeb
Application) where any new files are seen as soon as they are placed in Default
WebApplication directory.
Is there a way to periodically redeploy application from CLI?
thx in advance

If you are using the htp package, you are presumably developing for an application server? Can the people who set that up not help you with your development environment?
Setup is too complicated to cover here. Check out the Oracle HTTP Server documentation on oracle's documentation pages.
Briefly, you need to install Oracle HTTP Server and then configure a data access desciptor to connect to your database.
How to see the generated code in "QUEST TOAD"? I am not able to see OWA output in TOADYou will have to ask this question in a Toad forum. -
Create a new web application, how shall I update the file server.xml
Hi,
I will create a new web application, i.e named newApp. Then I create a file structure as follows:
- <server-root>/newApp
- <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF
- <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF/classes
Then I must tell the server that I have created a new web application. Then I must update my file server.xml, How shall I do this and where in the file shall I type in the new information?
I use windows XP Pro, and Tomcat 4.1.27.
My server.xml file looks like below:

I downloaded an update for my Safari web browser to "snow leopard". When I click on the .dmg file, a window opens up with a .pkg file but when I click on the .pkg file I get a prompt saying that it doesn't know what program to open it with.
I suspect if you're trying to open a file in 08 that's been opened in 09 the file has been updated to 09 and will not open in 08.

Updating Database From csv File in Web Dynpro Java
Hi Gurus,
I'd like to write an WDJ where the (super-)user can upload a csv file and delta-update the content of this file witch an external database.
Could you please give some me hints & examples.
Thanks in advance,
Farid
ps. answers will be rewarded with points, of cource.Hi Farid:
From your question it seems like you want to write a WDJ application which writes a CSV file after connecting to a database and everytime you do so, updates the file with the new record from the DB.
For this, I wouldnt think to write an application in WebDynpro since its an over kill, unless you want to host this appln in a portal environment and want it accessible for a set of people.
Ideally you could use the JDK api to open a connection to the database and then then file api to write to files. You would need to use an identifier somewhere to know the last record read and written to the file.
Incase you put in the type of db you want to connect to, i could be of more help

Not able to update single file in a non ejb Module related jar
Hey all,
I have depoyed my j2ee application <b>.ear</b> on NW webAS .
This application apart from having all the ejb Modules related jar, <b>also has a jar which has all my properties files</b> being accessed by my application.
Very often is it required by me to update these files and restart the application. However i couldnot find a way to update these single files.
When i select by deployed application.ear and click <b>Single File Update</b> feature provided by SAP in visual Admin, it shown only ejb modulerelated jar. It dosent show my jar containing properties file.
I have to redeploy my application again everytime i change a small properties file.
Please let me if there is a way to update these sngle filesHi,

Instead of the move statement you need to use the append work area to internal table statement. you need to have the same structure for the work area and the internal tbale.
Then use the modify data base table from internal table statement.

If anyone can help me with this I would be seriously grateful.
When exporting mutliple files to web pages Aperture keeping losing files, so for instance, if I choose to export 600 images to a new web page, it might make 524 pages but not the full 600. I've tried resetting Aperture and its persmission and am using the latest version of 3.
I have 3600 images which I need to upload as sublfolders, each with their own URL and at the moment Aperture is dropping of anything from 1 to 90 images.
This is critical as people need to see each and every on of these images online. So if a file has 600 photos in it, Aperture should make a URL with 600 full image pages. And this is what it's not doing. On small files, say 30 or so it seems to work well, it's when it gets to more than that the problem starts.
I've used Aperture in the past under previous versions and not had this problem.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
Bob.Hi Jack,
Thanks for responding (as it seems as though no one else has been able to provide any insight as of yet)! Not sure if you saw my recent post, but the version of Aperture on the 2008 MacBook has been upgraded to 3.1.2 (not sure how; I bought it in 2009, but only have OS X 10.5.8... which apparently can't house 3.1.2 of Aperture, but hey, like many other anomalies i'm encountering, I'm no longer surprised!). I am unable to upgrade it any further, as it warns me that my OS X does not fit the requirements. I exported the projects as libraries; however, like I posted before, apparently these are from too old of a version for the new Aperture (3.3.1) to handle and import.
It's getting to the point where I'd almost pay to upgrade the OS X on my previous MacBook (10.5.8) to something newer in order to THEN update Aperture to a newer version; however, my previous MacBook simply cannot handle this (the specs are awful -- hence my decision to save up and upgrade to the newest MBP with Retina).
I've spent hours upon hours transferring files, libraries as projects, previews, versions, even masters (though, apparently some of them aren't accessible?) with no luck. I've rebuilt the library and reprocessed everything. And this is all after having to return one MBP already since Aperture 3.3.1 is glitch-y as it is, and froze everything for having a "managed library". So, now that I know that I have to deal with a referenced library in Aperture... I just need to actually transfer my previous library to my new one (hopefully WITH adjustments since these are years worth of photos and work).
Again, any help is appreciated. I've lost enough sleep, time, and vision health over this at this point.
Also, I know Migration Assistant is an option, I was told that it wouldn't work properly anyway because of the different operating systems, and the potential for problems. -
Error While Opening an Updated JAR file
Frnds,
I have some problem with a JAR file update. Seek ur help in this regard.Here goes my problem.
I need to update a jar file ( need to replace a single .class file with a new one ). I updated the JAR file using ' jar uf ' command and it was successfull.. I removed the old JAR file and replaced it with the updated JAR file. But when i tried to invoke the JAR application using Java we start iam unable to open the applicaiton. But when i replace this upadted JAR file with the old JAR file ( using the backup) the application loads correctly.
The application is hposted in Apcahe web server. Is a server restart required after deploying the updated JAR file or is this porblem due to some other reasons.
Thanks in advance.

Bala.It appears that the New Report .vi only accepts the .xlt template format and not .xltx as one would commonly expect. I am currently working to determine for sure that this is the case, but it does run (mostly) properly on my end if you make that change.
When I say mostly, I mean there are a couple other minor issues with your code. First the first frame of your sequence structure is really accomplishing anything. If your intent is to open a reference to the excel template, there is no need because the New Report .vi does it automatically.
Second, you will need a file path of some sort wired in to your Save Report to File .vi or else you will get a different error message after fixing the .xlt issue. I am currently researching whether this should be marked as a required terminal instead of recommended so that it not being wired would result in a broken run arrow rather than an error.
Let me know if these suggestions resolve your issue, or if I can provide further input on what you are doing in your first frame. I will touch base again once I determine whether these are expected behaviors or bugs.

-->Are all of your pages that are linked to this on the same directory level?
The ../../ in front of every link means "go up two directory levels". If there are no pages, or if some of the pages are not at that directory level, the links would be going to nothing.
I don't use library items myself, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but the "bad path" in your error report leads me to think some of those paths (since they're the only ones in the code) could be pointing to the wrong locations.
My response will also bump your question back to the top of the pile. Maybe someone else will have a good idea of what's actually happening. -
Dreamweaver template update ftp files without synchronizing
Today I change Template - Update all files based on the template - synchronize entire site.
What I Like to do: change Template - Update all files based on the template
and then in the same window button with ftp upload changed files!
Why do I want this:
The synchronization can take time on big sites, I have cms and billing system on my site with many files.
The synchronization can take time on slow connection.
When the time betwen two synchronization is to small Dreamweaver select all files (or many) for synchronization. I do not know if this is only my problem (maybe there is different time on my computer and the server?).
Do we have solution for this today?
Or can this be something to suggest for next version?
Thanks for any suggestionNot sure if there is anything set up in DW yet, it does give a status window of what files were updated, you could possibly work backwards form that list (still a bit cumbersome). I also believe that if you change the template and upload it to your server, it will prompt you as to whether or not you'd like to "include dependant files", and (in theory) it will also upload the files linked associated with it... but that may need to be tested to see how well it works on a larger site.
As a possible alternative, you could use "Server Side Includes" - which is a single file which contains a portion of your page (the top navigation, footer area, etc.), and any page that uses this element will automatically update when you upload just that one element. Here is a link which explains it better: http://www.smartwebby.com/web_site_design/server_side_includes.asp and there are several others on the web that offer more detailed explainations - one caveat is that the web server you use would need to be set up to accept SSI... most do, but something you'd need to look into beforehand...
Hope that helps,

Update a file from WSP in several site collection based on my SiteDefinition
Hi,
i have a minimalisitic SiteDefinition with a Stapling Feature. The Stapling Feature includes one site-scoped and another web-scoped feature. Within the Site-Scoped Feature i am deploying tweo pages.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
<Module Name="MyBoxModule">
<File Path="MyBoxModule\default.aspx" Url="default.aspx" Type="Ghostable" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="FALSE" />
<File Path="MyBoxModule\hilfe.aspx" Url="hilfe.aspx" Type="Ghostable" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="FALSE" />
</Module>
</Elements>
My question:
I need to update these files each time my definition changes and the solution gets updated. For example after 2-3 month the customer wants to change the contents of the default.aspx but has created > 100 SiteCollections based on my SiteDefinition. Manually
changing it would be a huge time expensive job. How can i build the pages in some way, that i change the pages in my solution and provide a update so that automatically after upadting the WSP the default.aspx and the hilfe.aspx are "overwritten or
gets updated" by the file in inside the new solution.
Best Regards

Developers Field Notes | www.bog1.deHi,
If you have a requirement to change a page which exists in many sites in a batch, you can use PowerShell to iterate through multiple sites and replace the original page with
a new one in one execution.

Hi,
I have a problem that shows up somewhat infrequently. Once in a while, when I start my offline-allowed application, newer versions the application (e.g. updated JAR files) are not automatically downloaded. If I close the application and restart, the newer JAR files are properly downloaded. Has anyone else seen this problem?
A perhaps related question I have is how long does web start wait for the head request to come back when it checks for newer JAR files?
Thanks,
Joethis post may help

Updating class file in deployed application in integrated Weblogic of Jdev
Dear all,
The Jdeveloper I'm using is version : 11.1.2.1.0
When I deployed an application and then change the '.jspx' content and save, it will update the file in the deployed application in the integrated weblogic and everything works fine. (I can see the updated immediately without undeploy/deploy the application). When I updated a .java file, after compiling, it will shown the same message saying that the application on the integrated weblogic server is updated too, however, when I try clicking the page, it will show null pointer exception.
Just hope to ask if manually undeploy/deploy the whole application is needed after updating a .java (class) file or it's just some configuration issue?
Thanks a lot!
AndrewHi,
I've tried to rebuild the whole working space but the exceptions are still exist. The error messages are pasted below for reference.
So to get the udpated .java (class) to work, I need to 'manually' click on the 'run' command to the task flow file and a 'undeploy -> deploy' process will be done by the jdeveloper (need to wait for a few minutes).
If no need to (undeploy->deploy), I think I can save many time a day. Anyway, Thanks for all repiles!
Andrew

I think those are the only relevant things in the log file, everything before that is at an older time and I think is a log from when I ran "startx". I think this is the first time I've run video since updating catalyst-utils. Web video (eg YouTube) plays fine and doesn't cause any problems. I've tried reinstalling catalyst-utils and still have the same problems. The version is 14.1-1.
Any ideas on what I should try? Also, is there an easy way to switch to the open source driver, and then back to catalyst if that doesn't work? I tried using the open source one for a while but had issues so started using catalyst, but it's possible the issues I had with the foss one are now fixed.
Edit: I managed to install the FOSS drivers and all problems I formerly had with my 6970 are now fixed. This is a better solution than I could have hoped for, since I had been having a few problems with catalyst before the segfaulting started, and I'm having none of them with xf68-video-ati. And, full resolution from before I start X!

Yes. You can put all of your personal default settings in the file ~/.mplayer/config. If it doesn't already exist, just create it. On my VDPAU enabled system it looks like this:
[default]
vo=vdpau,xv,
deint=4
hqscaling=9
vc=ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,ffvc1vdpau,
channels=2
As far as subtitles go, I never use them so I have no idea.
